Tom Preska is a High School Film Teacher. He grew up on a farm, but moved away to venture out on his own to pursue a career in Art. He shares how he got started in art school and how he built his career in art education. In this podcast Tom shares memories of the 50 hour film content and the direction of the film class in Essex and photography as a hobby and craft in this day and age where everything is easy to capture, publicly posted, and easily accessible. Towards the end of this episode he shares the pros and cons of this career choice, managing family and relationships especially during the beginning of the pandemic.

Dale is a filmmaker who spent time shooting professional supercross and now fills his time shooting motocross and weddings when he’s not working as a dairy farmer in Vermont. Dale went to the boot camp of film school (Full Sail) in Florida to learn his chops. Growing up shooting videos with his buddies he really knew nothing about the industry before jumping in. We talk about the lessons learned from college, all night labs, and the feasibility of self teaching yourself video. Life as a freelance filmmaker in Vermont can be diverse. Dale grows sweet corn, does cow vet work, dairy farm management, for the family farm. He’s passionate about bringing the camera on the farm and sharing what happens on a modern dairy farm.
