We will discuss how to identify these beliefs and provide actionable steps to overcome them. Self-limiting beliefs can be a significant obstacle to achieving your goals and living your best life. How can someone recognize when they are holding onto a self-limiting belief?

Take some time to reflect on your thoughts and beliefs and identify any negative patterns or beliefs that may be holding you back.

If you are feeling a tad bit overwhelmed or unsure about your next steps, this episode of the “Love the Work You Do” podcast is for you. Today, I’m sharing four ways to get out of a “funk”.
The episode is for you if you’ve lost a bit of your focus, you’re filling your time with “busy work”, or you feel anxious about how you’re going to move forward with accomplishing your goals.
The inspiration for this episode came from my own experience of feeling the ups and downs of the first half of 2020.
Something else to keep in mind while listening to this episode…pick only one of these ways to get yourself out of a funk…at least at first
One of the best ways to pull yourself out of a funk, in order to push you closer to you goals is to create consistency. When you are consistent with one of these four ways (and by consistent, I mean you’re doing something daily), it will build more momentum for your confidence and your ability to stay the course.
Do you feel like the fear of failure is keeping you from playing a bigger game in your professional goals? If so, today’s episode of the “Love the Work You Do” podcast is for you.
Today’s episode is super special because you’ll hear from my dear friend, Melanie S. Griffin. Throughout this episode, Melanie and I get raw and real about professional failures and the lessons learned from these experiences. Are you currently seeking more joyful opportunities, not only in your work but also in the things that you do outside of work? If so, this episode of the “Love the Work You Do” podcast is for you!
In this episode, I share some ideas to give you a running start as it relates to you finding more joy in your work. As an extra bonus, these things can actually trickle into what you do outside of work, as well.
The first idea to help you find more joy in your work? It's a very simple one but it does get overlooked: build your network.
Here’s a couple of reasons why building your network will add more joy. Number one: If for some reason you have to leave your current job (downsizing, restructuring, lay-off, your own choice), you will have peace of mind that your network will be able to help you land your next opportunity.
Be proactive about building your network so you can be prepared for career shifts, business needs changing.
Another benefit of building your network (especially for those who are using their current job/role as a stepping stone to their next career move), is to build a network of people who can help you get traction with your projects, “side- hustle” or brand awareness. Getting more people into your ecosystem by building your network will help you eventually catapult your impact and success.
The caveat I'm going to say about that is you want to be sure that you're building relationships intentionally and not selfishly either. In other words, make sure you are building relationships with people you can support and serve as well.
Another way for you to find joy in your work is to challenge yourself to learn something new about your field.
For instance, If you typed in a web search engine, your “industry” and the word “conference”, there's probably going to be at least 10 pages of workshops or conferences related to your industry.
And, when you challenge yourself to learn something new in your field by going to a conference or a workshop, you're going to actually meet some other professionals there or some other people that are at least interested in that topic as well.
I can tell you from experience, there is so much joy in putting yourself in the arena of learning something new about your field and it makes you feel more empowered.
Your willingness to learn something new also gives you the upper hand. For instance, you having some additional knowledge your “perceived competition” doesn't, is certainly going to help you stand out when consumers are thinking about your service or your product. So, be mindful of putting yourself out there and the energy of learning something new about your industry.
Something else you’ll want to consider, as it relates to finding more joy in your work, is volunteering. Volunteering was THE thing I did that really established me in my local market fast when I first moved to the Southwest Florida market in 2005.
When I moved, I didn't know a single soul. I didn't have a job lined up. And it wasn't until I actually put myself out there that I got an opportunity to work with an organization that valued volunteering.
And through volunteering, I was able to learn a lot about the nonprofit community, some of the resources that are available to people who need them. If it ever came up in the conversations I was having with other professionals or other acquaintances, then I was able to share those nuggets with those people. This added a lot of immense value to their world.
If you’re thinking, “I want to give, I want to serve”, one way to start is to contact your local United way for instance. Find out from them which nonprofits are within their ecosystem to serve and support. If you want to just do a volunteer project for a couple of hours or do something a little more ongoing, you could get some information from your local United Way.
The act of volunteering can bring joy to your co-workers, friends, and family because you can share with them what you've experienced. When you share, it allows your inner circle to learn a little bit more about what you're up to and it can potentially get them engaged with a purpose that’s bigger than their own goals.
So with that said, I hope these three ideas spark your creativity to find more joy in your work environment. When you start implementing these ideas in your work life, I know it's going to start fueling you personally because you're going to feel a sense of fulfillment when you get up and go to work every day.
Bonus assignment: I hope these tips were helpful. I would be so grateful to hear what your number one takeaway is from today's show. Leave your “take- away” in the comments of this blog.
Until next time, time to rock!
Take Care, Erica

Do you feel like you have a lot of different goals but you're not really for sure how to prioritize them? If you have ever felt this way or currently feel this way, today’s podcast episode, “How to Prioritize Your Goals” is for you.
This episode is really about helping you get an idea of what your number one area of focus should be, as it relates to your goals. As we approach the end of the year, I have a lot of conversations (off-air) related to how to prioritize all goals or get clarity on which goals are going to truly move the needle.
And, if you are thinking about the goals you want to set, you might be struggling with deciding where to start. Um, hello…there are personal goals AND professional goals, am I right?
Well, if you are in that place of not knowing what to focus on first, hang in there…I’ve gotcha covered!
Here’s an overview of what’s inside of today’s “Love the Work You Do” podcast episode. This will also give you some framework as to what you can do to really position yourself from a place of strength as it relates to your goals:
(02:03) The two tools you need to do the “Rock On, Work On” challenge. So in order to do the challenge effectively, you're going to need: a pack of sticky notes and two different colored markers or pens.
(02:57) Here’s what you do with the sticky notes and two different colored markers
(03:54) Make sure you use a different sticky note for each thing you “rock” at and “work on”. When you do this exercise you should have 24 different sticky notes (12 things that you “rock” at, 12 areas that you want to “work on”
(04:47) Of 12 goals you want to work on, pick your top three “work on” goals. These are things you've either procrastinated on or you’ve thought they were too hard for you to explore
(05:54) From the three you’ve prioritized, narrow this down even further. Here’s how.
(06:40) Why it’s important to narrow your top three to one goal (your most important goal.
(07:27) What does it mean to go “all in” on a one goal? Some examples of getting focused energy, clarity, confidence, momentum are all shared here.
(10:51) Set yourself up for success within the first 15 to 20 minutes of your day being in doing this daily exercise (P.S. you will need to have a notebook where you can write down the points of this exercise, each day.)
(12:34) What to do to track your “most important priority” goal’s progress
(14:31) – The importance of gratitude and defining your next action step to help you move closer to accomplishing your goal
(16:07) As promised, here is your next best step to ensure you are tackling you most important goal, based on your highest priorities.
(16:52) Oh, make sure to post your “30,60,90 day” plan…where you can see it everyday ☺
(17:43) Wrapping up the episode with this final thought: You have the power to do exactly what you need to do…Now it's up to you to make the decision to move forward.
(18:32) One more thing…here’s a reminder to get the most out of this episode of the “Love the Work You Do” podcast.

Today's episode is for leaders who want to know the scoop or the insights skinny on how to truly love the work that you do and I'm going to break it down into three simple pillars for you to be thinking about as we continue this podcasting journey.
The three simple pillars I want to share today as it relates to you loving the work that you do:
Preparation
Gratitude
Action
Here's what I want you to do: Spend the first 20 minutes of your day "preparing" and write down one intention you want to set. Then write down one statement or form of gratitude you want to express. Now write down one or two action steps to get you closer to the goal you want to accomplish today.
Bonus exercise: Write down what do you want your ideal workday to look like. Then map out what it might look like on a weekly basis.
For example, every Monday there's a certain task that needs to be done such as content creation or posting a blog, etc. So write down what your perfect Monday looks like. Then write down what your perfect Tuesday looks like and perfect Wednesday and so on.
