We understand that if we want to get in physical shape, we have to eat right and exercise. But what does it take to get spiritually fit? What can you do to develop your spiritual muscles?
Life can become very mundane and repetitive and it is easy to lose our motivation. But once we see our lives the way God does, we can really step into the incredible race He has for us.
Why is it so easy to compare our lives to everyone else's? The Tenth Commandment—"You shall not covet"—reveals that the greatest battle often isn't what we do, but what we desire. In the final message of the Thou Shalt Live series, we explore how comparison, envy, and constantly wanting more quietly rob us of peace. Through the story of Achan, the teaching of the Apostle Paul, and the example of Jesus, we discover that true freedom isn't found in getting everything we want—it's found in learning contentment in Christ. If you've ever felt like you're behind, not enough, or always chasing the next thing, this message is for you.
We all know what it's like to bend the truth or fib or give a little white lie. It is a way to avoid confrontation or awkwardness or just make life easier. But what is really going on when we lie? And what can happen in our own lives when we decide to step fully into the truth?
Marriage, Sex & Adultery: Why God's Design Leads to Life
God's command, "You shall not commit adultery," isn't about taking something away—it's about protecting something sacred. In this message from the Thou Shalt Live series, we explore God's design for marriage, sexual purity, and covenant relationships. Discover why faithfulness matters, how to guard your heart from temptation, and why no failure is beyond God's grace. Whether you're married, single, healing from betrayal, or simply seeking biblical wisdom, this message offers practical truth and lasting hope.
What if God’s command “You must not steal” is actually an invitation to live free? In this message from the Thou Shalt Live series, discover how Jesus restores identity, fills what’s empty, and invites us into a life of generosity.
What if everything you’ve been chasing—achievement, control, recognition—can’t give you the life you’re longing for? In this message from 2 Kings 5, we look at the story of Naaman and discover that true success isn’t found in status or strength, but in humble surrender to God. When we let go of control, God brings healing, freedom, and real life.
New seasons often feel intimidating. Whether it’s family, work, or faith, stepping into the unknown requires courage. In this sermon, we look at the story of Noah and discover how God prepares us for big challenges, calls us to obedience before clarity, and remains faithful even when we fall short. This message is part of our Thou Shalt Live series, exploring how God’s commands lead us into a fuller life.
"You shall not murder" may be the shortest commandment, but it carries a powerful warning. This message explores how murder begins long before a weapon—with resentment, bitterness, and contempt. Through Scripture and practical insight, discover how God wants to heal what’s hidden, restore what’s broken, and help you live free from the anger that slowly destroys us from the inside out.
Some of our best and most difficult relationships are with those we share the same name with. God has a special command designed to help us work through the challenges of family relationships.
Life can often feel like a treadmill. You are constantly running from one thing to the next just trying to keep up. God actually provides a solution to the fatigue we feel that allows us to access a level of rest we did not know was possible.
In this message from the Thou Shalt LIVE series, we look at how God’s name represents His reputation, character, and authority—and how misusing it can happen through our language, our lifestyle, and even our spiritual excuses.
What is the most important thing in my life? Our answer to this question can sometimes be very different from how we live this question. But it is the one question that matters more than anything else.
When God says "No" often our first response is to think He is withholding something from us. What if behind every one of God's "No's" is a better "Yes" that can set you free to live the life you were made to live?
Life can turn messy in a moment—one mistake, one conversation, one unexpected turn. In this message from our Moments series, we explore how God meets us in the middle of our mess and uses it for redemption, not shame. Through the story of Joseph, we’re reminded that what feels like the end may actually be the beginning of what God is building. Your mess is a moment, not a monument—and God is still working.
There are times in your life where you face a life-altering decision that can totally change the course of your life. What do you do in these moments and what might God be up to?
Most of life can feel pretty repetitive and mundane. We do a lot of the same things that don't seem to matter in the grand scheme of life. But what if it's the little moments that actually matter the most? How do we maximize these moments so we can see God move in big ways?
Have you ever looked back and thought, "I’ve wasted so much time"?
Missed opportunities. Regret. Seasons that feel lost. Moments you wish you could redo.
The good news is this: you haven’t wasted your life.
In this message, God in the Moments, we explore how God doesn’t just work in big, dramatic events—but in everyday moments. The Bible teaches that God moves in appointed moments, not just clock time, and that even the moments we regret can be redeemed.
Whether you feel stuck, busy, distracted, or discouraged, this message will help you:
No matter where you’ve been or what you feel you’ve lost, God is at work right here, right now.
👉 This is Week 1 of our series "Moments."
There are so many experiences in life we would never think of missing out on: The birth of a child, an interview for a dream job, walking a daughter down the aisle, or even an opportunity to meet a personal hero. But out of all the "can't miss" moments of life, there is only one that can truly change everything and we must make sure we do not miss.
You can build something great....without God. The problem comes when you look to chase and sustain that "build" under your own power and in the meantime lose your identity. See how Jesus was faced with the same temptation and gave us some answers on how to pass this test.
We all have desires and dreams for our lives. But what do we do when we don't always see them come to pass? Is there a way to make sure we step into the good plans God has for our lives?
We've all been there — caught in a moment, wanting something we know isn't good for us. And too often, we give in anyway. How do we stand up against the inevitable temptations that bombard us every single day?
So often when we think about our lives, we would love to BE rich. More money can solve so many problems. But what if there is a way of life that is so much more fulfilling than financial success and security? How do you live rich?
When we look around the world, there are overwhelming problems and needs that can leave us feeling helpless to make a difference. But we need to open our eyes and see how God can use us to make an impact that overflows far beyond our expectations.
There are so many things we need in life whether it be food, clothes, or just more money. We can constantly be reminded of what we are lacking. What if there is a way to tap into limitless provision and to not have to worry ever again about any area of your life?
Feeling worn down, overwhelmed, or stuck while waiting for life to change? This message explores why exhaustion often comes from what we carry internally, and how honesty, ownership, and turning toward God can lead to real refreshment. If you’re tired of pretending and ready for relief that goes deeper than circumstances, this message is for you.
It is inevitable. There is no way to avoid it. At some point in your life, you will go through the fires of life: pain, difficulty and hardship. How can we not just survive these fires but come out of them even better and stronger than before?
There is one thing you absolutely need if you want to live the life you were meant to live. But you cannot get it yourself; is something only God can give. What is it and how do you get it?
Sometimes it is really nice and even necessary to have time to yourself. But if you want to see all that God has for your life, it will require other people. How do we create the kind of connections that will fuel our spiritual purpose and passion?
In order to see the truly supernatural in our lives, we must have one single thing. If we are willing to step out and use it, we are promised we will see God move in profound ways.
We all know what it feels like to lose our sense of passion and excitement for different areas of our lives. When the passion starts to fade, what should we do? Is there a way to sustain our passion no matter what is going on?
It is so easy to lose our passion for life. We get stuck in a rut and a routine and struggle to get excited about the daily drudgery. What if there is a way to experience so much more from your life and experience the supernatural fire of genuine purpose and passion?
If there is one thing no one ever does it is leave a gift unopened. The whole point of a gift is to open it! While that is true, the real question is: Have you opened the gift that God has placed right in your lap?
The one thing every person will experience at some point in life is pain. It comes in all shapes and sizes and we do everything we can to avoid it. What if the pain in your life is part of a much bigger plan you may not see?
So much of life is pretty small. We have commutes, meal prep, appointments and a lot of little things that make up our lives. Sometimes most of life can feel pretty mundane and insignificant. What is there is more going on that we can see?
Each of us face a battle that rages inside of us where we want to stop doing that thing we know we shouldn't be doing. Tweaking our game plan by understanding our opponent and knowing who we are, can help us gain victory!
Every day there are forces pushing against us and trying to shape us into a certain type of person. How do we pushback and step into the life that God really wants for us?
There is a battle raging all around us. We may not be able to see it with our eyes, but we must learn how to fight this battle if we do not want to become a casualty and instead want to come out victorious.
Life can sometimes feel like a treadmill with all the daily demands and endless weeks. How do we avoid slipping into going through to motions and really live a life of real passion and purpose?
We all crave to have close friends but often struggle to find and forge the types of relationships we really want. What does it look like to form the types of relationships that are truly life-changing?
No matter how much or how little money we have, we are all trying to find ways to manage our money better. What timeless wisdom is there for handling our finances that will guarantee we can thrive?
We all have had someone say something to us that stung. Some things people say stick with us for years or decades. We also say things that we regret and wish never came out of our mouths. How can we wield our words in a way that brings life to us and others instead of pain?
We are experience temptation in different areas of our lives but there is one temptation that is particularly dangerous and destructive. How can we win the battle against sexual temptation that comes our way?
We all have those moments when we lose our temper, fly of the handle or completely blow up. Our anger can feel out of control or even surprise us. How do we deal with the anger we experience in so many different situations?
We run into all kinds of people on a daily basis: Personalities, preferences and all the other unique quirks and characteristics. There are a few types of people to avoid but there is one type of person we must become if we want to thrive.
There are endless fads and flavors of the month for anything you can imagine: Weight loss, parenting, investing, dog training, and everything else. With all the information available to us, what are the absolute timeless principles and truths that will guarantee success in your life?
We all have moments in life where we want to end up in a certain place, but it does not work out. It can happen with careers, relationships or anything else. Even when we end up in a place we did not intend, there is one move we can make that will guarantee we end up where we are supposed to be.
Well done good and successful servant? Well done good and influential servant? God admires faithfulness. What would it mean to MOVE towards being more faithful in our lives?
It is very easy to go from day to day just in survival mode. We have so many things to juggle and keep up with. But as we are running from one thing to the next there is one question we should ask: What are you building with your life?
We all would love to see God work in our lives more. We want to know our lives are making a difference. What can we can do to guarantee that God moves through us in powerful ways? As we move, God will move.
It is sometimes hard to know exactly what God wants us to do with our lives. While it can be difficult, there are some clues God gives us. There are special gifts God has placed in you that give a hint for why you are here.
God has more for us. God wants more for us. But some of God's greatest moves in our lives will only come when we move.
How do we make the most of the opportunities that God presents us with? The answers can be found with some simple things we take for granted in our everyday.
We will spend 90,000 hours over the course of our lives working. For most people, work is something you endure until the weekend. How can we approach our work in a way that is not just good for our workplaces but life-changing for us?
The people we have the most conflict with are those closest to us. They are the people we live with, work with and are consistently around. How do you handle the problems that inevitably come up with the people you cannot avoid?
Sometimes it's easy to think that either God forgot to give you peace or if he gave it to you, you forgot where you put it. But peace isn't just possible, it's a promise.
Today's message is about living a life, living out your CHRISTIAN WALK in a way where: You don’t have stand-ins. You don’t live vicariously through others. You don’t hand off the biggest moments in life to others. YOU live a life where you Do Your Own Stunts.
What if the life you want with God is more within your grasp then you think? What if it's as simple as releasing "the old" and embracing "the new"?
There is something about life that leaves us wanting more. We can never quite seem to get to that place where we are totally satisfied. What is the secret to true fulfillment and how do we get it?
It is very easy to feel stuck in life and faith not feeling like we are making as much progress as we should. What are the things we can do to grow in all the ways that God desires for us?
Do you live your life more from your location or your position? Because of Jesus' supremacy and sufficiency we can clearly answer that question as we discover who we are created by and created for!
Reputations are interesting in that everyone is known for something. Sometimes it's a special skill, an aspect of our personality, or one single event that can define what people think about us. What is the reputation God wants you to have with the people around you but also with Him?
We have a special opportunity to make a huge impact in the lives of kids in another part of the world! What might happen if we step out and see what God does?
If you really want to experience everything God wants for your life, there is one single job you absolutely must do.
We talk about believing in God and sometimes that can be very hard when we don't see the things that God says. How can we experience the full benefit of belief in our own lives?
There are certain encounters that are special: Seeing a celebrity in person, coming home to your family after a long trip, or connecting with an old friend. As great as these encounters are, there is one ultimate encounter that changed the world forever and has the power to change your life.
When we have an encounter with Jesus and walk in his power, what's next? How do we make sure we don't hold onto what God has given to us?
God wants to show up and move in our lives but are we doing anything that may be causing us to miss Him? How do we make sure we do not miss God when He encounters our lives?
What does God want me to do? This is sometimes a very hard question to answer. How can we get clarity for the direction of our lives in our every day decisions and also for the destiny God has for us?
One single encounter with God can change your life forever. What can you expect when God intersects with your life?
We all have had to take tests throughout life whether for school or to get a driver's license or many other things. Tests are often unpleasant and stressful. While we don't usually enjoy tests, there is one test that God loves to take and He wants us to give him the test.
There is one journey that most people never set out to take but has the power to change your life more than anything else. This is an uphill climb that is with every single step and sacrifice.
Every single one of us has moments in life where we fear if there will be enough. Will there be enough for the bills, the unexpected expense, the downpayment, or life in general. What promises do we have about God meeting our needs and what do we need to do to access them?
There are new levels that God wants us to reach in our faith. If we are going to access them, there is one critical obstacle we must overcome.
We have heard the phrase "It's not how you start but how you finish." There are some areas of life you just have to cross the finish line on if you are going to live the life you were made for. What does it take to finish well in your faith?
No one makes it through life without racking up some loses. We make mistakes, trip up and fall short. Even in our worst defeats, God wants to lead us to the destiny He has for us.
There are a lot of times in life where you feel like you are just spinning your wheels. You don't see any progress or forward movement and it is frustrating. What is the one thing you can to do ensure you get to exactly where God wants you to be?
It is very easy to get stuck and stagnant in life. We settle into a routine that leaves our lives feeling stale. What can we do to make sure we move forward into everything we were meant for?
We all want to advance and move forward in life, but there are a few pieces of essential equipment you need if you are going to be prepared for what God has planned for you.
We were not made to stagnate and be stuck. God wants you to move forward and step into the plans and purposes He has for you. How can you take the territory that God has already prepared?
There is a difference between believing in God and truly knowing God. But how can you know someone you can't see?
Life can get dark at times. We face sickness, job loss, relational drama and so many other situations that can make it easy to lose hope. What does the darkest moment in history show us about a light that always breaks through?
Life is filled with difficult decisions and unclear direction. We don't always know where we should go or what we should do. Even with the confusion that life brings, there is one thing we absolutely must see clearly if we want to see our lives clearly.
What lengths would you go to for the people or person you love the most? Would you go to those same lengths for your relationship with God? Our lives are measured by how we love. And love won't fail because God makes a way.
Why does it feel like hope can sometimes feel like making a wish? Wouldn't it be better if hope was something practical or something real that you could hold on to? Perhaps we have had the wrong definition of hope the entire time.
There are many times in life when it feels like our faith does not work. We believe God to move or show up and then are left disappointed when it does not work out. How can we develop a faith that never fails no matter what we face?
Our leaders often fail us. Whether they are parents or politicians, our leaders make promises they fail to keep and offer hope they fail to fulfill. While every king does fall short, there is one King coming who fulfills every promise he has ever made and more.
Election seasons may be the most divided seasons in our nation. As our world continues to fracture more and more, is it possible for a group of people to show the world something it does not have but desperately needs?
We live in one of the most politically divided times in our country's history. How should Christians think about their own political engagement and participation?
Anywhere you look in our culture today, there are opportunities for worry and anxiety. It could be the economy, work, or an upcoming election. We are commanded to free our lives from all fear but how do we actually do that?
Many of us can remember the first band we fell in love with or that one song that we love to listen to on repeat. Music has always been a big part of the human experience. But how does God use music to change our lives and even the world?
On a regular basis, we encounter people who have very different opinions and perspectives from us. These encounters can sometimes go from discussions to full blown debates. How can we engage people we disagree with or who may even be wrong in a way that ultimately wins?
There is a lot of hate in our world whether it be in politics, our social media feeds or even our own families. What is going on and how do we fix it?
Politics may be the most controversial and contentious aspect of our culture right now and it can feel like there is no way to win the game we find ourselves in. What does Jesus have to say about politics and how might it change the way we engage the politics of our day?
Choosing to follow Jesus will put you at direct odds with the culture around you in real ways. Instead of seeing this as a problem, how can we use this as an opportunity to engage the world in ways that bring real change?
Everyone has an idea of what the dream life looks like. At the same time, we often go looking for the life we want in the wrong places. What is the life we were made to live and how can we step into it today?
Do you fear man? Or do you fear God? This weekend we welcome Jason Soderstrom as our guest speaker to unpack what the fear of God is, and how it should transform your life and what others think of you.
A lot of our daily lives can feel very routine and mundane. What we may not realize is that the seemingly random and little coincidences of our lives may be our biggest opportunities to make an impact in the world.
While most days we may have a handle on things, there are times when life gets out of control. What is the one thing we must absolutely make sure we do not lose to keep our lives on track?
There are seasons in life that can be brutally hard. These are the times we want to quit. When you start to understand the story God is writing with your life, you have every reason to trust Him and look forward to the future.
Stories are a huge part of the human experience. Whether it's sitting down with a book, watching a movie, or just hearing someone share, we love stories. Sometimes our own life story can feel confusing, stuck, or just plain meaningless. While a lot of life may feel that way, what if there is much more to our story that we even realize?
We welcome guest speaker, Pastor Tim Celek, and celebrate our last week of going through the book of Philippians. Philippians 4:14-19: Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Life is turbulent. There is so much unexpected chaos that can enter our lives at any given more and it can create a lot of worry and anxiety. The Bible gives us insight into how we can defeat anxiety once and for all.
There are so many good things to enjoy in life whether it be a house, car, trip or even a nice restaurant. Even with all the good things of life, we are often left feeling a little dissatisfied and wondering if something is still missing. How do we find true and lasting satisfaction in our lives?
What is the difference between being a Bold Christian and a Normal Christian? How you live now can be impacted by what you believe about your future.
Revival is a hot word right now. When you think of Revival, what do you think about? Maybe you thought many people were coming to Jesus, maybe you thought of the Jesus Revolution Movie, maybe it was something historic that you connect this word to.
Sometimes it's difficult to enjoy the ride with God when you hit bumps along the way or simply run out of gas. But Paul encourages us to press on towards the goal to win the prize! How do we do that?
It is harder than it has ever been to be a man. There are so many forces and challenges that cause many men to struggle with everything from marriage and parenting to work and other relationships. What does it really take to be a great man? What can a man to in order to live the life he was really made to live?
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me. Philippians 2:12-18 NIV
We all want to live a life that matters but most people are going about it the wrong way. There is actually only one way to live your life that will guarantee you live the life you were made for.
It's hard enough to feel good enough, smart enough, or capable enough. How could we live worthy enough of the gospel? It seems impossible. But is it?
We all come to points in our lives where we feel stuck. We feel stuck in our careers, our relationships and even stuck in the daily drudgery of life. Paul gives us insight into how we can move forward in our lives no matter what we face and live an unstoppable life.
Life can be a grind. Work, family commitments, kids' activities, full schedules, health challenges and so many other things can make life feel stressful and overwhelming. While a lot of life can be draining, God wants us to enjoy the ride of life and there is a way to live it that will fulfill you in ways you never imagined.
There are so many times in life we feel the urge to quit. We quit jobs, relationships, subscriptions and so many other things. There is one area in life we absolutely do not want to quit and if we are able to make it to the finish, we are promised rewards beyond anything we could imagine.
We all feel a sense of urgency when we are facing an emergency. At the same time, there are some things that are very urgent even if we don't feel it in the moment. Every follower of Jesus should have extreme urgency about one area of their lives.
Life involves so many different risks whether it's changing jobs, moving to a new area, or deciding to get married. There is so many unknowns with any decision we make. While life is filled with uncertainty, there is one bet we can make that may seem like it's high risk, but actually comes with the greatest rewards.
We all could use a little more of something whether it be money, time, or sleep. While all those things are important, there is something more that God has for us that is far beyond anything else we could imagine.
We are in such an exciting season as a church! God has been doing so many new things and we are excited to step into another new opportunity as a community! Come join us in this incredible adventure that is unfolding!
We all have different opinions and perspective about everything from food to sports and even other people. But everything we believe can be changed by just one experience. There is one single event that changes everything about our lives and Jesus wants to know: Do you believe?
Jesus looked to comfort those whose hearts were troubled - feeling like something was missing. And He did this by making a bold, audacious, claim.
We all have a vision of what our best life could look like. For some it is financial independence, for others it might be a sunny beach and no stress. God has a vision for our lives that we may have never considered but is actually a life even greater than anything we ever imagined.
All of us have a shepherd. Someone or something that leads us, guides us, and helps us make our decisions. But most (if not all) of those shepherds don’t have our best interests in mind. So what are traits of a good shepherd?
It is very tempting to find our security and comfort in the things life has to offer. Whether it's money, family or success, we are drawn to these things to make our lives meaningful and worth living. Jesus presents an alternative to life that we are challenged to bet everything on if we want to live the life we were made for.
There are a lot of different opinions about what is true in our world today. Many of these opinions contradict and conflict with one another. How can we know what is really true? How do we know if we are believing and living out what is true? Jesus makes some of the most controversial and compelling arguments about truth that can change everything about how we understand our lives.
God wants to do the immeasurable in your life, as well as in the local church. If God is going to do immeasurably more, then it will absolutely be beyond what you are capable of asking for, planning for or imagining for.
There are situations we face where there is a fine line between success and failure. It can be very tempting to step back in fear in order to avoid any pain or disappointment. But what if these moments are some of our greatest opportunities to see God move greatly on our behalf? How can we make sure we have the faith necessary to see God's favor in our lives?
There are many areas of life that feel unfair. We work hard to live a good life and struggle and then see other people who seem less deserving but are flourishing in so many ways. What do we do when we feel we are being faithful but we do not see the favor of God flowing into our lives?
It can be very hard to see the good things other people experience in their lives and feel like God does not love or care about us as much as others. What we really see though is that God's favor comes in different forms and if we will focus on being faithful, we can trust His favor will flow into our lives.
We are all looking for something in life whether it be a spouse, a different job, more money or the next location for a vacation. There is one thing that God promises if we look for we will find: His favor. What are some ways we can seek the favor of God so it can become a reality in our lives?
We all know it takes work to get in shape, earn a degree or grow a business. But what work is required if we want to see more of God's favor in our lives? What can we do for God to trust us with more of His strength and power?
There are so many different things we want but there are very few things we truly need. God has the one thing we need if we want to see all of His purposes and our hopes come to pass.
What if the place God has you is exactly where you need to be to see his promises fulfilled?
Life comes with endless problems to solve. Often it's problems that we view as working against God's purposes in our lives. What if God is the one causing some of the problems in our lives to fulfill His greater purposes?
We have heard the phrase "timing is everything." Being in the right place at the right time can make all the difference. There are also situations where being too late can ruin opportunities and outcomes. Many times, it can feel like God is late. We wait and wait until it feels like God may have forgotten or denied us completely. The Christmas story is proof that we have a God who is always on time for everything in our lives.
We all hate to wait. Whether it's being stuck in traffic or a line at an amusement park. There are other times where waiting can be very painful like waiting through a job loss or health crisis. God makes us a promise so we can know that whatever we face, out patience will pay off in a big way.
We all seek control in our lives. Whether it be our time, money or kids, life feels much smoother when we have a sense of control. There are also times when we realize we do not have nearly as much control as we thought. How can we get free from grasping for control and the anxiety it brings?
Our natural inclination is to focus on what is happening around us, but what if we were honest with what's inside of us?
There are a lot of messages in our world that attempt to sell us the good life. We are seduced into striving for and pursuing things that do not ultimately make us happy. How can we experience the truly good life? What does it take to live a genuinely satisfying life?
Words are so much more powerful than we realize. We can remember things people said to us or about us from years and even decades ago and they still impact us. How can we make sure our words are bring life to those around us instead of doing damage?
We all know the signs of life for a person. What are the signs of life for faith? How do we know if we have a relationship with God that is actually real?
It can be easy to look at someone’s clothes or the car they drive or some other outward appearance and draw conclusions about them as a person. We are all tempted to judge based on externals. Sometimes this can seem harmless but James shows us the dangers of discrimination even in its most subtle forms. There is a higher standard that Christians are called to in the ways we view and relate to people.
We all know what it feels like to lose our temper. We know what it feels like to say or do things we regret because of a moment of uncontrolled anger. God provides direction on how we can start to transform our response to difficult people and situations and how we can see real change in our lives.
Temptations (simple and big) are all around us. How do we resist doing the things we don’t want to do? Where do we even start?
Life is hard. No one makes it through life without facing situations and circumstances that can only be described as difficult and even overwhelming. How are we supposed to respond when we face these kinds of trials? Is there a way to face them that will not only lead to a better outcome but a transformed life?
When we are wronged, there is a certain desire and even pleasure in getting even. We want people to pay for what they have done to us. What we usually realize is that this is much messier and more complicated than we think. Jesus provides a dangerous new idea about how to confront the wrongs we experience that does not just change our own lives, but has the power to change the world.

Every single one of us has financial needs, relational needs, physical needs and so many other necessities to live. Jesus presents a dangerous idea suggesting that there is one need that we need more than anything else. Are we willing to bet our lives on it?
We all have people in our lives we find challenging to love. Whether it be their political stances, their personality, or something they have done to us, we can struggle to show dignity and value to certain people. The Bible introduced an idea thousands of years ago that has profoundly shaped our world and completely changed how we view and relate to the people around us. How can this idea change our lives and the world today?
There are times in our lives when God shows up. He does miracles, moves in power or simply provides strength. While God ultimately decides when to show up, there are things we can do to prepare ourselves and experience more of Him in our lives. What can we do to see God show up more in our lives?
We all have decisions we regret and decisions we are so glad we made. Baptism is a decision God offers that comes with no regrets. It is a life-changing step we take in our faith that we are challenged to do as soon as we put our faith in Jesus. If you have not taken that step, what are you waiting for?
There are so many areas in our lives where what we have is insufficient for what is required. We do not have enough time, money, energy, connections or whatever else is needed for a situation. There is a moment in Jesus' life where he shows that it's all about who's hands it's in. When we bring what we have and put it in the right hands, it changes everything.
We all face seemingly impossible situations. We often don’t have the ability to solve the problem or overcome the obstacle. What do we do when we are in these moments where failure and defeat seem certain? God provides a path to victory that may be unexpected but will change the way you face your giants.

In every area of life the influence of a single person on us can change our personal trajectory forever. Whether it's a teacher, friend or even stranger, one person can impact us in a big way. The power of a positive male influence may be one of the single greatest factors that can transform our lives. What does it look like to play a father role in someone's life? How can we cultivate men who can have a profound influence in other people's lives? What is the power of a good dad?
God is paying endless attention and giving meticulous care to every tiny detail in your life. There are no small, inconsequential things with God.
There are events in our lives that can make it feel like our hopes for a good life are over. It can be a divorce, the loss of a loved one or some painful experience. Our culture loves to live without limits. We believe with enough effort, we can do anything. What we discover is this is actually not how life actually works. We hit limits of time, money, energy, health and so many other areas. As much as we do not like the limits in our lives, God wants to use them to do some of His greatest work.
We all say we need a break. We feel the need for more days off, more vacation time, and an opportunity to unplug from all the things we have going on. The problem is that most people come back from time off still exhausted. What can we do to ensure we return from times of rest truly restored?
Sabbath is a radical act of resistance against the "way of the world," which urges you to do more, work harder, and acquire more. But God's Sabbath gives us a way to move from living as a slave to the "gods of achievement/accomplishment/accumulation/MORE" to living in freedom.
So many of our lives feel out of balance. We are over-committed and exhausted from all of the responsibilities and demands that are placed on us. It can be tempting to feel like this is just the way life is meant to be. God actually offers us a rhythm of life that will not only restore our fatigue but transform our lives.
Life can often drain us. We feel depleted from all our responsibilities, causing a constant state of low-grade restlessness. This does not have to be the way our lives work. There is a way to experience true rest for your soul.

We all experience different stresses in life but financial stress can be truly overwhelming. Not knowing how to keep up with the bills, figuring out an unexpected and expensive emergency, and just keeping up with the cost of living can be a heavy burden.
