Halshack is an everything music entertainment juggernaut including podcasts hosted by me with music and music only bonus show podcasts, review blogs, video channel like MTV and our own radio station on ZENO FM!!! We are broadcasted, played, streamed, downloaded, or aired in over 350 global markets and over 100 countries around the world!! I work with top stars music projects (Stevie Nicks, Frankie Muniz, Lil Zane, Cavo plus Duran Duran including many more endorsements) and have exclusive music and bands that only run under the Halshack promotional label and radio show. I was recently contacted by NBC network for talent for a new live TV show coming next year! "American Song Contest" based on Eurovision will be out Summer 2022 and UNDECIDED FUTURE was picked!
I am honored to have been bestowed with such gifted musicians and music and to be revered with such respect among my peers. Its August and Daft Punk (w/ Jawny Badluck) are bringing the fire! Its just hot and there's no mistaking that the heat you can find on the Halshack is just as hot as the heat outside! We're making some new nostalgic memories in the summer heat here in the Rap Shack! This show is half submissions and half regular artists on my show. It worked out to have room to focus on some new releases and past hits from the show! Check out Migs718 swimming with the "Sharks" on repeat from Rap Shack 6 while Ladibree is "Groovin" to new tunes as she was "Chosen" to bring back old school female lead hip-hop in a big way!
Just finished up Reverbnation campaign #7 and this group of last finalists surely knows how to blister the airwaves with some melting hot rap and hip hop! 1300 submissions this campaign with 55 being chosen across all genres! Well done to the top 4% for catching my ear to make my show! We love our hip hop here at the shack! We even love our world beats too as we have Mt. Boi and Dwon to bring you some culture from the faraway land of Africa.
New rap and hip-hop styles kick off the show with a freakin' brilliant new collab from alternative pop rock act Sam Tinnesz (Legends are Made, Play with Fire) delved into the land of an urban pop/hip-hop and busted out a hell of a track called "Enemy". Be sure to catch newcomer Philly? with his multi diverse style branch into rap with fire to tear up the "Billboard" charts if it were known! Watch out for new comers (2 of Me) while they show you their skills aren't "Counterfeit"! Great song!
Wrap up the last segment with some older jam styles mixed with current vibes from Jawny Badluck and very special guest "DAFT PUNK" with a remix of their tune "Sumthin' About Us"! Listen to the show as it slithers like a "Snake" and weaves its way through musical bliss of various rap styles of the years. Once you hear our rap anthems you will never want to leave the Rap Shack, you will always "Be Mine" like Tony Domingo!...lol

Time for summer fun! Who knows where the music will take you so lets get in the car and DRIVE baby! This will continue my famous theme show that started it all. Destination Unknown 1 was a sure fire hit!!! Lets capture the magic of the road again with a theme show full of "drive" titles or being on the road and reference titles for movement to unknown destinations and places.
Summer as you know is a great time for travel or just taking a leisurely drive across the landscape no matter where you live in this world. Here in the USA taking a road trip is a favorite past time of ours. America is so big you can drive for hours and not even leave one state. You need to enjoy your road trip too while you pass the time in the car, truck or RV.
That's what the Halshack is for! Hours of boring car rides can seem like a dull time when you think about it but your music destination is just around the corner with a touch of a button. So next time you need to spend some time in the car whether its driving to your family vacation or heading out to do errands you might as well enjoy the road while finding your final destination.

Lets get back to basics folks!! The 80s/90s were the king of the road for music! Diversity in music is what makes the culture of the world spin out on the airwaves. Back in the day we opened our ears and eyes and our borders to music from all over the world from the British Invasion to South African vibes to Gregorian chants even...lol
Its a crime that music has flown in the direction it has. Newcomers (DARKBIRD) from Dallas TX are certainly not guilty of any musical "Crimes" as their new hit has soared in for a landing on the Halshack! I'm glad they decided to pick my landing zone and launching pad for their band. We will do what we can to help Darkbird build a nest here at my show!
We even got super lucky to land Belinda Carlisle and Gabe Lopez in a new duet "California Blues". We are absolutely not feeling the blues around the Shack these days! I'm honored to have their support!
Over the years the labels seemed to have forgot where quality meets innovation and "catchy" writing skills as well as pro experience to produce a top hit. The hits of today fail in comparison on many fronts from the forefathers and mothers of popular music of the past. Its not about "Get off my lawn"!! or "Kids today and their music"...lol It's about the very quality of whats being produced from an objective professional perspective. That all stopped about 10 to 15 years ago. That's when the decline of diversity set in and we only have what we have today at the top.
We cant forget what "powerhouse hits" came well before the industry decided to stop looking for real singer songwriters and closing our musical borders to the knowledge of the world radio sphere. Its a "crime" that no one knows these bands exist and could compete with the greats of the past! Its a "crime" that there's no central place for music where we can share in that collective experience that made our world so connected without the internet or our phones. These new technologies have made us less connected than ever before!
Lets rock 80s/90s!! Pop wave, Brit wave, Americana/rock in this show!! Have fun!!

Its also the longest day of sunlight but oddly its been awful cool and very rainy here in NC as El Nino sets in for the summer!

These themes are full of new topics for you to enjoy that take a different turn as they twist and weave in and out of my library that has expanded full throttle over the years. Back in Oct 2018, its a well known story about my craziness of my show and how its all connected and I do things in advance that trigger events in the future or I'm just on target with my future and I don't even know it. I plan things in advance and some of the themes and the songs play out in my life at the same time that I air the episodes. Crazy! Its not always the case but we will see what happens here with the next set of shows. There's already events unfolding in this numbers show! 27 by Below 7 was supposed to be in an earlier show and it was replaced for another with a better fit. I didn't know I was going to plan a numbers show..lol. Paper Jackets has an exclusive album that resides solely on my show. "3 for the show" has never been played off that album. Ive covered about every song from it but I never made it to that one for some reason. Its now time to finally let that one see the light of day!
There's more I could talk about but Ive yammered enough so instead of yammering lets start humming to all these great bands and fun tunes with numbers that will make you hummmmm all day long!!..lol

Rap Shack 12 is sure to delve into some great jams to make you go "........DAMN!"..lol We're back again with another edition of my stellar rap and hip hop series I'm becoming renown for around the globe per our official radio submission campaigns with Reverbnation! This rounds out official campaign number #6 with the company. Moving on to 7 this summer!! We had 1500 submissions and chose about 50 to fill a few shows! Be sure to get your submissions in for the next campaign starting May 15th and ending July 31st!
"She wanna do it for the Gram!" says Black Shawd and indeed we do want to get our message out to the Gram and Tik Tok and anywhere else who wants some dope tunes for your ride or to flash your hide...lol I managed to put together a cool special featuring some new rap infused R&B with a little soul pop in between then we go cruising into the islands for a little flavor of Jamaica. Skylar Lutes and Drifting Roots were having fun in the sun till the boys in blue thought they we're a "suspect" for bringing too much good music to your ears! Meanwhile MIGS718 is getting "Wasted" off good vibes after his BRAND NEW track just released!! Then we're going to take a slight stroll down memory lane to the harder edge of rap with some various new and old style hip hop mixes!
Thanks for enjoying this journey with me. Its hard to put these shows together and manage to find all the right material to form a proper flow in order to arrange these various styles in a one hour setting. I manage to get lucky and do it everytime which is quite intriguing that I can do this without flaw. It does take alot of work. I have to dive through every single library of every potential artist for the episode and find the song that works and is presentable and professional enough for radio play. If its not there it doesnt make my show. Thats the quality Ive become known for. I appreciate everyone so much for becoming a fan and recognizing what we do here at the Halshack! It means the world to me and the most to these artists who have no voice to help them stand out!

Please welcome Belinda Carlisle to the Halshack!! Well last year we didn't get to put much focus on this special event! Due to the Wampus Cat Music Festival with Lit, Everclear and Sister Hazel this song was completely over shadowed! I talked about the song and played it in the Wampus Cat Special but it was a wash for their representation!
Well I'd like to give this song justice and put the proper focus on the stellar career of Miss Belinda Carlisle of the Go Go's fame! I'm honored to have her on the show! She released a book recently about her troubled life behind the scenes which I believe many of us did not know about! I'm thankful she found a clean road to sobriety and she's with us today to share her stories of trials and tribulations. I'm glad she's overcome her problems and back on the road touring and cutting new music like this song with Gabe Lopez! Gabe submitted to me again for the show which we've already heard Gabe 3 times now on 3 diff tunes so thought we should swing back around to this little "diddy" about feeling the blues for home in CALIFORNIA BLUES! Honored to have this duet!

This is a great show. 10 minutes longer than normal. Lots of varied popular styles blended together. First you have some pop then a little EDM to swing your hips too then we work into some modern contemporary and off with a Brit wave to end the block. Third we will rock you out with various styles of new rock from light to heavy in your face tracks with Once Around at the end!

Produced well, played well and above all it sounds like a hit. Good guitar solo too! Nice skills on display all around!

REVERBNATION CAMPAIGN SHOW #4- 2000 submissions and 50 (roughly) were chosen across all genres. 2 new Shacknation shows coming Vol 8 and 9 (one will focus on pop, dance and urban sounds, the other will focus on country, americana and rock)
Rapshack 8 will be great they said! Well these artists did not cease to deliver on the goods! Its a fine eclectic mix of some of the brightest rap and R&B talent out there today in the indie/unsigned market.
Glad to have them all as part of my quality team! Thanks to everyone who submitted in this campaign. Found some versatile artists that can work across multiple genres like the most excellent Harmonic Molecules from Quebec, CANADA!

Time for a story bio.........
(I usually make these story bios off the cuff..lets see if I can work some magic here...lol)
As Dads and as all people in general we sometimes find ourselves battling our own demons to be set free. Sometimes those battles can be lengthy and hard fought nights of depression and decay to the body spent enduring "100 Weeks in the Dark". In order to find your way to the light you may have to thrown down some "Kerosene" to fire up your path forward to a new life and possibly a new found love and support with feelings of bliss as you tread forward to that lovely emotional state of "Bliss Chemical".
Be careful to not allow the negativity back in your life. As soon as things get better the "Wolves" come to tear apart everything that you love. Our younger "Millennial" friends, cousins, brothers and sisters, have had a tougher time at life than we Xers have in some respects but hats off to them for managing to survive this cold yet web connected world. They still remember a time when we didn't type out our hand written "Letters to Penelope".
We never know what the future may hold. "Where We're Standing Now" may not necessarily be the place you're supposed to be. You may have to get "a Little High and a Little Low" before you find where to plant your roots as have I and many of us have from all walks of life. Many of us have found a "White Light" at the end of the tunnel in love and relationships whether it be lovers, friends, or family but sometimes those lights come in the form of powder burns when their words sting like "Bullets". It may make you feel like you are not being validated and going "Unnoticed" for your contribution. Take a second to think about how you respond or what your next move is. The world can be a huge scary place when facing it alone with your "Lonely Bones".
This world is demanding, life is demanding, jobs are demanding, it can feel like its a bit too much and leaving us looking for some "Sanity in Madness" that is the state of today. In the end, life is what you make it. Go out there and conquer the world as I have so you can say look at "What I've Become" rather than "Falling" on your face so you will "Never Look Back" to your old life of negative mind state and hard times. This is a new world folks! I don't know what it means for us Xers and how we fit in but lets hear some great music and great bands while we bring you some "New Blood" to conquer the music industry!

Reverb Campaign #3 is here and we all agree that you cant go wrong with these rappers of this degree! Skills is the game we play and song writing is how we plan to stay! Sticky...sticky..sticky goodness is what we're all about here at the "shack"! Radio used to mean catchy, radio used to mean solid hooks and tracks you can sing along or rap too because you can understand the lyrics and its written in a way that makes sense to your mind that anyone can relate. Its the reason "hit songs" became hit songs.
Those songs back in the day spoke to a wide range of people from all walks of life from all backgrounds to all races. That's what good mainstream hits do. They bridge the gap and bring people together under one common love and that's the love of music. If your song has the ability to grab multiple generations attention from multiple cultures across the world then you're on to something BIG!
Halshack dives deep into the indie market to pull out and showcase what could be "hits" in their respective rights to their genres or styles. These rappers and creators are out here working their butts off grinding daily through life and work to try to spark some life back into the rap scene we all used to know and love and cherish!
Gen X owns all popular music types. We expanded what was a bland market of soft rock disco and pop and turned the world on its head with stars like Dre, Snoop Dog, Madonna, Metallica and Guns and Roses etc..... There is no one better at music and its time to recapture that magic before all hope is lost to the major labels and their agenda to "dumb down" the industry!

If most of you don't already know Im Generation X! We are the smallest Generation in the world in existence but yet we had the largest impact on culture from music to tv and movies to the very smartphone you hold in your hand!
My generational brothers and sisters are lost in this new world. We imagined a world where we could strive forward and make the necessary changes that our parents and grand parents neglected to see or admit. We were told to sit down and shut up and eat our brussel sprouts...lol Kids have no say!! Therefore we are lost (most of us not all), the forgotten ones, left to fend for ourselves to try to grow a career out of a life of disappointment and most of the time utter chaos. We found solitude in each other and our music for it was all we had!
We were the kids daring enough to do bike stunts in the backyard and play "war" around the neighborhood till the lights came on! We were partying in the woods and having bonfires before it was even cool and we were the first to play video games at home and all you had to do find where all your friends were was look for the most bikes in the front yard! Those were the days!
Now our generation is left to pick up the pieces of our aging parents, crushing debt, and Gen Z children who want a better life than what most of us can give or offer. We were branded the first and most "color blind" generation. We want nothing but peace and love for all humanity and coexistence was our forte.
We were groomed by our parents to get the great job and the white picket fence with 2.7 kids and a pension to fall back on but sadly the world that was created by them has been destroyed by them as well and we as always are overlooked for our opinions and knowledge and experience.
It seems that the current social climate culture is trying to suppress every thing we knew as kids from our music to movies. The major labels used to "care" about you the listener, now all they care about is the mighty dollar and "streamagers" habits...lol. They are the ones who have time to pass around garbage and call it music because once you've heard GREAT, you cant go back or be subjected to tolerating less than talent. Its like trading down for a crappier car than the one you have. Why would you???...lol
So why tolerate the BS they are handing out and why keep listening to 30 year old music you've heard 5000 times!!...lol (yes its great and you LOVE it) but there's always room to LOVE something else too!
Apparently we Gen Xers who created music what it is today doesn't have time to make sure we influence music in the right direction. A "LIKE" does nothing for a band on social media but hitting the "SHARE" button is the ultimate goal. That's what gets the message out to social media feeds around the globe!!
We have to stop and ask ourselves "Are we part of the problem that music has headed the way it has" That's a resounding YES because no one wants to lift a finger to retweet or share their fave indie band or a new act they found to their buddies (Some of you will, but most wont) and that's very unfortunate that the GEN that calls themselves the most critical thinking most problem solving most active GEN in history cant "hit a button". ...lol
We can all do better!! So next time hit the share button for a band you like or my show. They cant do it on their own and neither can we. This is going to take a grassroots movement from all of us. Its how my show and reputation have gotten to where it is today because of good people like you and great fans all over the world in 100 countries!!

Reverb Campaign #3 is here and we all agree that you cant go wrong with these rappers of this degree! Skills is the game we play and song writing is how we plan to stay! Sticky...sticky..sticky goodness is what we're all about here at the "shack"! Radio used to mean catchy, radio used to mean solid hooks and tracks you can sing along or rap too because you can understand the lyrics and its written in a way that makes sense to your mind that anyone can relate. Its the reason "hit songs" became hit songs.
Those songs back in the day spoke to a wide range of people from all walks of life from all backgrounds to all races. That's what good mainstream hits do. They bridge the gap and bring people together under one common love and that's the love of music. If your song has the ability to grab multiple generations attention from multiple cultures across the world then you're on to something BIG!
Halshack dives deep into the indie market to pull out and showcase what could be "hits" in their respective rights to their genres or styles. These rappers and creators are out here working their butts off grinding daily through life and work to try to spark some life back into the rap scene we all used to know and love and cherish!
Gen X owns all popular music types. We expanded what was a bland market of soft rock disco and pop and turned the world on its head with stars like Dre, Snoop Dog, Madonna, Metallica and Guns and Roses etc..... There is no one better at music and its time to recapture that magic before all hope is lost to the major labels and their agenda to "dumb down" the industry!

Time to kick up heels (or boots)..lol and get to steppin'!! Country steppin' that is....lol The HALSHACK knows country cause I grew up in the country sticks and backwoods of North Carolina. Still live here now and let me tell you not much has changed in the past 50 years. NC has seen alot of growth and advancements in the world of tech and medicine but if you take a ride out of town about 10 to 20 minutes from any metro area, you would think you just stepped through a time machine and you know what?? Thats the way we like it here!!...lol
Little bit of old, little bit of new, little bit of something borrowed or blue!! That is the country way and we are here to show you that way in our music and our traditions. Many of these artists in this show hail from the southeast where the heart and values are as big as the region we call home.
There's something to be loved and said about country, folk and bluegrass. Its roots are buried deep in passion, folk lore and story telling. Its probably the last (least tarnished) major genre in the industry that still holds true to its history and foundation.
These 11 bands and artists on display are all new and have recently been discovered in the REVERBNATION submission campaign series. It took thousands of artists to find these gems of farm hands and rustic dreamers...lol.
The Hackens Boys are sure to please with triple tracks for your pleasure as well as (newcomer Sarah Buss) has stories to tell about those that are UNINVITED. A spur of the moment decision or actually a forgetful memory inspired this show to happen....lol I always do something special for this lovely day because I'm a lovely feelin' Libra who's feelin' lovely and always in love with love. I'm usually "lucky in love" but not lately. I have no significant woman in my life at the moment so I've been living a closed knit life building my show for the last 3 years since I last said "I love you" to anyone in-person that wasn't family...lol
Love is a complicated web of thick emotions, happy memories or sometimes traumatic events that has a profound effect on our lives in both positive and negative ways. The healthiest relationships can even see problems but those usually make it ok. Others are not so lucky. We all have our own love stories to tell and can relate to each of these artists stories whether its happy in love or wishing life had been different with a past loved one or just reflecting on oneself and your values as a person, finding in you what it takes for one to be happy and complacent in life.
This has been a famously popular series around Halshack lore with 3 under our belt as of press time so this will be the 4th in my long standing iconic series of love shows for the holiday! Go find 14.5 "Love Shack", 19.5 "Music is Love" and 21.5 "Hearts Desire". All are different and all are truly brilliant!

I found Sam first with "Ready Set Let's Go" and hes been on GO ever since from 1 million followers to now over 3 million!! Welcome to SHACK TRACKS vol 1. (original release Oct 2020 on Amazon music and Zeno FM exclusive) Official feed release 2-5-22
This line of shows is meant to throw focus on some of our potential mainstream "hit songs" across several genres. Most of these songs (if not all) could storm the charts and music fans playlists across the world (if they were known)
This series began as my wildly popular POPIFY series which I tried to find a home for on SPOTIFY for its first 5 episodes then Spotify kicked me off their service after a YEAR of allowing me on their servers and allowing me to grow quickly to almost 15k monthly listeners just to KICK ME OFF on APRIL FOOLS DAY 2020 ....I thought it was a joke when I woke up to no podcast on the site so I emailed the company and this was their response (no music podcasts allowed on Spotify...boo)
So I found Popify a home on TAMBR for Popify 6 and let it sit there for almost a year before uploading it to the regular feed. The idea behind all this was to find a place we could do exclusives and have that become entrenched with the brand name being used so we could build a base of new fans at that site and drive traffic there. Well Tambr has not been as successful as I would have like to have seen it be.
Well a new opportunity arose to give my Spotify feed to Amazon Music. So Popify merged into a new series for Amazon and Zeno Fm radio station (SHACK TRACKS) Thats been cool to have a new series born on AMAZON MUSIC and ZENO FM but its been slow to grab so far. Finally its starting to show some life and Im hoping Amazon will want to offer me an official connection to the company. We will see.
In the meantime I will continue to throw AMAZON music new shows as we "throw back" to these older shows on the feed! So enjoy these 30 minute forays into "Hitopia"...lol!!

Hear ye! Hear ye! 2022 is here and so is a whole new season 4 of the Halshack! We are blazing a trail through the unknown future of the year with the unknowns of the industry!
I'm hoping this year will be better than the last 2 for all as we set course poised in a good position to look forward to a very aggressive year making my way through the music sphere! After all it is the Chinese zodiac "year of the tiger" which are years that are historically known for cunning and aggression through all facets of life from business to personalities. I know a few Tiger people and they are not to be trifled with or underestimated....lol (there may be a reason Soylent Green was set in 2022) I think the whole world is feeling the tension and I fear its only going to get worse before we see the light.
So lets try to turn those aggressive frustrated thoughts and feelings into a smile of positivity and love with a one hour show of fun upbeat tracks to brighten anyone's mood (at least at the moment...lol)
Middle section is a country rockgasm...lol of cool new hits and throw backs to classic styles from all the years of ramblin' musical roadhouse saloons so be sure to grab yourself a beer. The Hackens Boys have a story for you to sit down and think about over a brew with "I Need a Beer".

Cant go into details but the whole project was canned and tanked 1 month before release back in March 2018. The band ultimately went a different direction and signed with an indie label after a series of unfortunate events that I cant divulge because I was involved with this project long before it was ever announced or even known about, still no one really does except for long time fans of my show.
Last time this song was played was about 1 year and half ago I believe, so its time to dust the cobwebs off the tune for Halloween and lets have a good ole 80s party with all the gang including BOMBARGO who took the iconic walk on Abbey Rd in London just to get some "OXYGEN"! (oh and probably so they could take this very rare photo for a band from Saskatchewan CANADA!!)....lol

Country seems to be the new home of diversity in the music world. It seems to be the only place where rock and old school pop undertones are still allowed to shine and thrive. We've seen some major changes to the country/folk/bluegrass landscape over the years with even this new country/rap that seems to be gaining in popularity with the younger generations. I'm not really a fan of that honestly so we're gonna keep things standard flare around the Halshack bringing great country music styles that you know and love!
There's too many FANTASTIC acts in this show to pinpoint but Ill name a few for honorable mentions. OF SEA and STONE is up on deck with their spotlight showcase of 2 songs in the center. BATTLESHACK 3 is in current contention in my private group for A&Rs, major label talent scouts, influencers, staff bloggers and writers, and long time fans and supporters of the show.

Well Happy Birthday to me!! I'm turning 50 you see!! It's time for the gift of music! It's time for the RAP SHACK 3!! Pretty good for Gen X to flex past what you see to get to your ears that will agree!
Music is what my Gen is known for! You will not find a more knowledgeable person about the music industry than a Gen X native. One could say that most of us never really grew up! We've managed to learn how to blend the old with the new and have a unique perspective on life, values, and experiences.
I'm using that knowledge and background here with 30 plus years of rap history and skills swirling in my head to bring TOP quality shows to YOU the listener each and every time. Each episode is different and each episode has different themes and I try to always make a point to never overplay the same tunes.
SO FAR this RAP series has had no repeats!! Almost 60 different indie tunes with skills on par or above any major artist in the industry! MOST are some of the best I've ever heard!

As fate and destiny would have it, a little birdie must have landed on Sarah Woods desk at BSQUARED MGMT and tweeted in her phone to look up the Halshack! I'm not sure how she found me yet whether it was the little twitter bird or the book of many faces...(lol) with a well placed promotional post, that has yet to be discovered. I love a good mystery!...lol
So keeping with the story about our pre-destined futures, turns out that one of our very own artists, LAINEY DIONNE, is part of their team unbeknownst to either one of us. Sarah didn't say one word about it when she approached me so I just assume she had no idea. I brought that point up so she was happy to hear that great news! (That's usual par for the course with me, everything just falls into place on its own..lol) I dug through a rabbit hole folks for 10 hours of somewhere in the ballpark of 60 profiles at least and honed in on the A-class talent of the BSquared roster. Lainey has a new album coming out in less than a week and you can (Pre-Save) on Spotify as well as catch her in 3 other episodes of my popular show! As fate and destiny would have it, a little birdie must have landed on Sarah Woods desk at BSQUARED MGMT and tweeted in her phone to look up the Halshack! I'm not sure how she found me yet whether it was the little twitter bird or the book of many faces...(lol) with a well placed promotional post, that has yet to be discovered. I love a good mystery!...lol
So keeping with the story about our pre-destined futures, turns out that one of our very own artists, LAINEY DIONNE, is part of their team unbeknownst to either one of us. Sarah didn't say one word about it when she approached me so I just assume she had no idea. I brought that point up so she was happy to hear that great news! (That's usual par for the course with me, everything just falls into place on its own..lol) I dug through a rabbit hole folks for 10 hours of somewhere in the ballpark of 60 profiles at least and honed in on the A-class talent of the BSquared roster. Lainey has a new album coming out in less than a week and you can (Pre-Save) on Spotify as well as catch her in 3 other episodes of my popular show! Its been a long tough almost 7 years since I started this podcast with lots of ups and downs to say the least. There have been many very weird strange coincidences as well as much synchronicity has evolved around this show with my life the bands the music and songs involved. The important connections I make and how I made them. Flukes and weird circumstances has allowed me to progress in the industry from the outside looking in. Its the ONLY reason this small town guy from North Carolina has garnered some attention from my peers. it's almost as if a path is being carved for me. Strange I know, I cant help but notice the rare amount of events that have happened are 1 in 8 billion odds!!!
So go listen to the show and find out what I mean. I talk alot about some of these events and how I met the spotlight band almost 10 years prior to this show and we re-connected both ready to move forward together!!

The British are coming!! The British are coming!!
Let the reverie begin for all music lovers who will hear these great sounds and bands from our fine talented friends from "across the pond"!!
Its nearing the 4th of July here in the states as we celebrate our great yet tattered country that has much rebuilding to do but we are Americans and we are resilient just like our friendships abroad. As we look back to important holidays like Memorial Day, where so many allied forces gave their lives in the name of freedom, we are reminded of great relationships forged over the years with our friends we fought so hard to break free from then we fought along side of to help rid the world of tyranny.
Memorial Day weekend 2015, NARROW PLAINS won a spectacular contest to come to the states and work with famed producer John Davenport and play a couple gigs while they were here. I got the pleasure of meeting with the gents in my home area at the Blind Tiger in Greensboro, NC. I was elated to meet these fine chaps, we had a beer, some laughs, and a great interview which you can find posted on the podcast feed. I was honored to flap my gums with the fellas for 30 mins and record their show. I used some "live excerpts" from the show in Greensboro and mixed them with their song they recorded at Deep River Studios in Sanford NC, USA!
So with Memorial Day recently passing in May and 4th of July coming its a great time to remember and honor our British, Irish, and Scottish pals from way across the "giant lake" of salt and seaweed...lol
Speaking of memorials....We have a special TRIBUTE in this episode for VIOLA BEACH, young British rockers with a HUGE future who's lives were so tragically taken from this world in a terrible auto accident in Sweden in 2016! Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of these wonderful young men. I appreciate this rare opportunity I was given to help support this band and help with their release of a possible new tribute album in the future! I'm very honored to Have VIOLA BEACH in my camp of talented artists!
Its so ironic to be doing this show now unplanned mind you, I got the idea off one of my US artists spent some time evidently in London and met a friend or potential lover, not sure which. She wrote a song called "Hey London" and I just ran it in the (Summerscapes episode, June 2021) all about places around the world and how you get there and want to get back home. Great episode! It made me think about London and Narrow Plains and all my good friends and bands and radio stations that support the show! I said its time to do something special for my friends in the UK!! (some I'd consider family, just love you guys!!)
Then the irony of all to release it unplanned at our Independence Day from England who are now are best chums on the planet!!...lol

Congratulations!! If you're reading this then we made it to 2021 and hopefully past all the bullcrap and the nonsense that had us all down the last 2 years!!
Well lets "cut the crap" as us Dads like to say and show off only the finest in unknown rock this 3rd time around for another jaunt into my library and my headspace of vast musical knowledge of nuances and rock flair. (See Rock Ages 1 and 2) for more pure rock goodness!!
Rock is not meant to be nice nor are its fans forgiving when it comes to skills of the axe laden guitar string. Music is about showing off all your skills and musical weapons one possesses in their arsenal of experience and expertise.
I am Generation X. We learned to earn our keep and we perfected what modern music is today. Gen X is the best at music. We don't hand out participation trophies because we know the quality of talent that is out there. Once you've heard that then it makes no sense to settle for second best. It existed once at the top tier for many decades but that seemed to have been replaced with sub- standard expectations today.
You want on the Halshack?? You got to earn it! You earn it by creating something that catches my valuable well respected discerning ear! Millions of fans DOES NOT impress me, what you create does even if you only have a 100! I can spot quality years ahead!

Official release of the exclusive radio show (Double Trouble). Its Star Wars day and of course my show has something to do with Star Wars (huge fan...lol) and the song titles and it just so happens to be time to release this to the world! "I can't explain my life folks! I just live it"...lol
Well, in light of Star Wars Day, its time to shed the sabers light on this very cool show (released last year to radio only!!) full of broken men and echoes of the past when music meant more than background noise!
Just like Anakin, I too was a "Broken Man" when I started my journey into the music business many many years ago! That's when the music started to change for the worse at the top tier level.
People who know better never forgot the "Echoes" of the past greats of music while this new (bad batch) of songs infiltrated the airwaves. Some thought it was great while others had "Faith" we wouldn't completely "Ghost" the soul of music for all the fancy "Lights" and glory of a new electronic sound while real bands and musicians were left feeling like "Monsters" and outsiders to the music industry.

I was so honored to first land brilliant California indie band MAGIC GIANT on my show. That led me to earn the credits of the cool and talented FRANKIE MUNIZ first then super honored and proud to have STEVIE NICKS back an exclusive project with PAPER JACKETS and 100% authorized and approved new version of (Stand Back). The entire album was never released due to complications so I was handed the album as an exclusive and "NO ONE" on the planet is authorized to play or promote but ME.
I AM VERY HONORED to have their support. Then indirectly connected again through another band on a KESHA project and was authorized to run VERSECITY's super cool super special version of (TIK TOK "ROK")
So 2 years ago I started a bonus theme series on OCT 13, 2018 (HALLOWSHACK). I ran one of the exclusive PAPER JACKETS songs. (NIGHT TIME KILLERS). After that I started picking up my frequency of episodes and better quality bands and artists and the show has grown quite immensely for a multitude of reasons!

She just released a new song too about her recent breakup that evidently shes had an easy time with, she cant even remember his name or came down with a sudden case of amnesia..lol
"Whats his name" makes its worldwide debut here on the Halshack. See, everything works out for a reason and I'm living proof of that..lol

Howdy folks!! I'm pre-planning shows again! I usually don't do that. I sort of "wing it" or look for life cues and well ironically this one cue I got recently to do this show turned into a whole series of the next 8 bonus shows.
So here we go!! Its one song from mostly all 110 (roughly) artists that have been on my show over the course of the past 6 years. Is it their best work? Maybe, maybe not, I dont play the same songs over and over so the listener gets burnt out! I feature all the great tunes from each artist over several different episodes. So these may or may not be the most shining example of the band or it may be a new tune they released or one I never got to in their library. Every show is different and every show gleams with musical harmony and bliss!
Thats my reputation!! Enjoy these different acts. Its not my usual "flow" that I create. Its in alphabetical order so its a mixed bag of music mayhem and fun that only my playlist and connections can offer!!

So I'm staying busy and still working too. Life never stops for the banking industry..lol.
Back when I was on SPOTIFY (kicked me off in Mar for being a music podcast..lol) I had a popular exclusive series named POPIFY. I got out 5 plus a Canadian based show to run as exclusives for them and draw attention to the show on Spotify.
So this was POPIFY 2 released June 2019...each POPIFY show contains at least one exclusive song or more that can't be heard anywhere else in a regular show or regular bonus. (not counting SHACKSTARS)
So have fun getting to know these very cool indie acts and even cooler indie tunes. Some don't sound so indie at all and could be your next love song or the song you sing to your wife at your wedding party or down the aisle. Could also be your new dance fave. This was another show I had to take down from the servers. Now my capacity has doubled I can re-upload this to my feed. This show got little publicity and has had the least amount of plays due to its release date. I put this out at Christmas 2018 so people could have fun around the campfire or a New Years party. Its a great chill show with lots of indie flavors and styles to burn the night away under the starry skies while lighting up the night with fun tunes. Its ep 19.5 (Crewsin' and Musin') Well folks the "WHISTLE KING" has blown his siren that everyone needs to "STAND BACK" and take a long hard look at our lives because "EVERYTHING WILL CHANGE". So "WHILE WE WAIT" for our meds to be restocked and a vaccine to be generated lets all have some "VITAMIN K" to get the body healthy again so we can get this "PRICELESS" world moving again after the virus has run its course. We will all need to "GET UP" off the couch from watching Netflix and Disney+ as well as rebound out of video game la-la land once life gets back to normal, whatever the new normal will be. There should be plenty of "GASOLINE" around for your trip back to work and your errands too. The CORONA VIRUS might have us all preoccupied at the moment but we all need music to turn too during these dark and uncertain times. I got a "cue" from Dave Cruttendan (owner of Discover Unsigned in the UK) from his facebook post about putting together a "hit" song virus playlist and well I was already struming my brain on this idea anyway. Thanks Dave for the push as well as the new video channel SHACKVIDS was inspired by Dave as well yet I was already on this in my brain...lol
I think Dave and I are just cut from the same cloth and on the same page. He's a bright dude and a good friend who helps so much with the indie music scene in the UK. So does Tizz Shearer too over at XRP!! You guys are the best!!
SO these song titles all have to do with some "Quarantine Blues" which was going to be the original name but I just thought that was too dark and its not all dark music. Anyway the song titles as usual were perfectly timed for yet another world event. These were the logical choices for song titles and for the rotation timing of most of these tracks AAANNDDD it perfectly fits with todays world theme. I cant make this stuff up folks.. I swear!
I pick songs based on rotation and theme then I start forming the play patterns by flow and genre, the kicker is the songs are the logical choice for that show but the songs have not been played recently or hardly at all or it was just time to kick that one back out again. Its just eerie and the subject matter will fit the timing. I dont plan this stuff folks. Lately Ive been taking cues from my show and life and just roll with it and its panning out to be a blast!!
Song Titles..I was gonna make a story with them but I think alot of this is just too damn funny and "more to make light heart of our lockdown blues" not to make light of the travesty that has destroyed so many lives and family members hearts.
HALSHACK is very sorry for your loss if any of my listeners have been affected by Covid-19. My prayers go out to you and your loved ones.

SPOTIFY has since retracted my show from being on their service and cited that "Spotify for Podcasters was not meant to be used as a music distribution tool" even though they "KNEW" full well I was on their site for a year because they had to approve me then they removed me.
HAHAHA! Its ok I know what it is. Im a way better playlister than anybody they could possibly find or hire and they dont like it. I have more knowledge and experience than they ever will!

Cleaned up my audio, added a new song, "enhanced" the audio for Monster, fixed an issue with Secret Social Club and the band Asking Alexandria that was a misunderstanding from a bio I read. I cut 5 mins of my banter to streamline the show, added a couple small bits I missed and polished it off with sped up breaks. Its a whole new show in essence and the show it should have been to begin with!! Have fun!

Well folks, its still February (the month of LOVE) for one last day but its never too late to spread the message of music and good vibes.
This show was meant to be out before cupid flung his arrow but it didn't work out and as you listen to the show you will know why. Things had to play out the way they did for some very important music and new bands to make their way on to my radar literally up until the day (Feb 28th) when I started recording.
AIRPORT IMPRESSIONS has a world premiere of their brand new stellar track "Why are We Here" (just released on the 28th???...crazy!!) on this episode as well as a double mystery spotlight featuring 2 different bands. We got tons of new rock bands including one that just dropped their new track this week!! Heck yeah!! Their name is SECRET SOCIAL CLUB!
SHOW CORRECTION!! I made a remark in the show that a former member of Asking Alexandria is in SECRET SOCIAL CLUB. Well thats not true, they are friends and he helped put this band together but hes not in it, Their BIO was confusing and it wasnt clear on that subject. I feel very ashamed of this mistake.
We got new rock from South Carolina and Georgia as well as new tracks from some of our returning faves and new artists as well making their debut on this 2 hour HALSHACKGANZA!!
So much great news!! DEEZER will be adding my show hopefully soon and a new radio station from the US has found me on their horizon. 102.9 The Blazing Rock FM will soon be airing the Shack!! Thanks so much!

Shackstars series (Best of power rock bands Triton and Scars Remain) from Charlotte NC.
These fellas have been important part of the Halshack early on in my career! I was extremely pleased to have this camp in my corner.
Several years ago Triton released full digital/cd album "First Orbit". After a few years of touring the band hit a HUGE snag in the production of their 2nd release and the band went on hiatus. Chris Rich singer landed an important new job and Jim Clardy drummer went to drum for BUSH cover band "GLYCERINE". Just saw them in Greensboro recently at Welcome to Grungeboro at the Blind Tiger!
In the meantime, the guitarist Kyle Spidel and bassist Andy Allen found a couple more great musicians to take up the reigns and form another fantastic harder more metal/rock band named Scars Remain. Scars has been tearing it up and playing some big festivals and garnering radio play.
Fast forward Summer 2019 and finally "Last Orbit" was finished and ready for release and Triton is back in business. The cd is JUST stellar and in my opinion these 2 rock bands are the best bands to EVER come out of NC. PRISON BREAK is one of the best rock songs I've heard in my life! TRUTH!!
Look for them sometime this year to share the headline stage with Spaceship Days at my first ever SHACKFEST in High Point, NC at AFTER HOURS CLUB!

Anyone who knows me and has been long time fans of the show knows that my LUCK and TIMING has been that of LEGENDS and my LIFE and SHOW are truly CONNECTED and INTERTWINED in more ways that I can count or even begin to understand. My friends and family knows that I have been trying to DATE (since the CRASH of my life in February 2019) at every turn with no luck so I thought I'd see if anyone listening might want to give it a shot and get to know me a little bit. I've got the burning passion desire for ROMANCE, FUN, ADVENTURE, LOVE and MUSIC and PASSION for life and all things fun and humorous! Anything I can do to help better human kind and it starts with tiny gifts of good music to help soothe your soul. I'll move on to BIGGER and BETTER gifts to humanity as I gain stature. (I really kind of feel the singer vibe) and this show of course would happen to line up with that in my life and most of the song titles being about loving a woman or just meeting the right one at this time. I cant help the timing. Its no surprise I'm single, I've mentioned the terrible effects my life have endured over the last year in past episodes. But now I'm ready to move on. Its the ONLY time I've ever USED my show to talk to women and I will never again. If this works and I find the right woman to move forward then that prevents me from wasting my time with the wrong one and stagnating my life, there would be no need to play to the ladies hearts again because I'll be happy in LOVE (I hope) and ON MY WAY. PLUS its just the subject matter of the show, again all about timing. Wasn't my plan, just worked out that way!

The Uk's have finally found their "Waxwings" as they landed in Missouri. Glad they could fly in for the party before we keep this road trip across the USA rollin'!

Houston has been in the "Eye of the Storm" more times than we can count yet Texas holds strong and in "The End" always triumphs! VERSECITY camp may have lost their studio and equipment and delayed their new cd but what they gained is so much more valuable. LIFE and a chance to record again with the lead (Walker) charging on as the new camp Polaroid Summer! The horror of Hurricane Harvey bringing his "Battle Ready" name and status brought out the "Monster" in Walker to push on with the guys and finally complete Versecity's new album.
Westward we head to the warmer skies of Arizona for a little visit with Father Time and catch up on his "Fan Fiqtion" before we dredge on to the snowy mountaintops of Colorado and Utah to "get high" in the Rockies with our pals Savage Henry whom we "Cant Get Enough" of and there's certainly "No Sleep" for the wicked this Halloween with VoxEagle tagging along. While you're there be sure to take "Another Brick" from the wall while you're feeling "Comfortably Numb" with Savage Henry and their tribute band (WISH WE WERE FLOYD) making a rare appearance (Sat Nov 2, 2019) at The ARMORY in Brighton, CO...show starts at 8pm (then we gotta get going..lol)
All good journeys have a time for ending as we approach the Great Plains of Wyoming "As We Ran" with the National Parks and through the Teeton National Forest! Montana is one of the last true rugged (old) western frontiers. It beckons back to a time of when things were simpler and not so robust as the rest of the world. Makes you feel like you're living a "1950's Life" with Jael Johnson.
As we come to our final stop of the Heartland of "Merica" I have come to realize that 2 important additions to the Halshack were overlooked on our trip to hear the "Wonders of the West Coast". Brittany Bouchard said "I Will Be Yours" California when she made her BIG move from Florida to the golden shores of the west bringing her country pop vibe in tow.
We make another trip back around to Oregon because Tyler Stenson was on a ride on his "Good Comet" when we came around to visit with his awesome glowing vocals that continue help keeping the Halshack on a righteous path and "Steady as I Go" on my journey to conquer the music world!

This is the second portion of the Battleshack 2 (honorable mentions) bands that got the next most round of votes to fill my time at the radio stations and your musical appetite.
Sort of like an 11-20. Special mention to National Parks and their "As we Ran" obtaining the most votes for this group of 10 semi-finalists. The next 4 got equal votes and the last 5 got equal votes so I grouped it together the best way I could into a "flow" that I normally do in a bonus show.

This show arguably contains my best vocalists. Dustin Paul and Luis Feliciano of (Ode to No One) Como Brothers as well, Minshara, Heavy English..dag-on there is some damn fine talent in this show!!
I chose NYC and the Statue of Liberty and the Twin Towers as a symbol of a strong Northern character to be resilient and honorable!! We should all NEVER FORGET the tragedy that unfolded that horrific day in New York. I thought since Sept 11 was just a few days ago this would be the upmost time to pay some homage to the victims and their families.
Halshack will forever remember that day as will so many others that are in the hearts and minds for all people affected that day. I have found the best picture I could to symbolize those beautiful steel structures in all their glory! NEVER FORGET is tagged on the bottom with that dreadful black stain of a date in our nations history! We have been resilient as a nation but we have lost the true meaning of NEVER FORGET! America came together the most it had come together in decades.
What has happened to our countries UNITY? We should NEVER FORGET that as well................

Sticking with the location theme were gonna trek across the grand ole' USA to our west coast neighbors and serve up some Cali to Washington gold and of course we cant forget those great environmental leaders of Oregon stuck in middle.
I recently made a cool Lego video with my son Tyler, featuring (TOP by HOONCH), in order to support the show with new avenues to promote the HALSHACK.
The west coast of the USA is a busy place with many fantastic sights and sounds to enjoy while you soak up those California rays. There are many avenues of styles of music to traverse off the Gold Coast. You cant go too far without running into a famous star or band in SoCal and one day these great Halshack acts will be sharing that musical high life as well with the golden state song warriors.
The Pacific northwest has become a hub of techno jargon and silicon landscaping but Seattle rock still exists and going strong in Wash and Oregon among all the Yahoos and Micronauts running around!...lol

Its a great chill show with lots of indie flavors and styles to burn the night away under the starry skies while lighting up the night with fun tunes.

NARROW PLAINS, what an outstanding acoustic trio from London, UK. They won a contest to come to America to North Carolina and worked with famed producer John Davenport and even had an interview with me and I got to see them play out a show at the Blind Tiger in Greensboro, NC.
These chaps have had their music featured on BBC radio all over the UK and are steadily growing their base at about 70k strong! I'm proud to know these good gents and look forward to more quality tunes from these wooden wind pipes of England.

I have been listening to a fair amount of well-known indie playlists that were "good" or just OK, but not "GREAT" I look for STANDOUTS and I was left feeling less than inspired by these BIG lists with hundreds of thousands of subscribers or millions of plays on You Tube and Spotify.
They just dont have access to or the knowledge of the music I have. Exclusive bands and little no names artists that could rock the music world whether it be pickin' a banjo or throwin' down in a club or jamming on an axe laden guitar. Halshack can spin up any genre at the top of the game!

A year ago today I began work on the clandestine Ep 12 (Stevie Nicks special), it was also my older brothers birthday as today is as well. Heath Jester, I love you so much brother. Happy birthday man!! Well so much has changed and transpired in the last year. Its been quite amazing to see all the growth that the show has made. Over 30k subscribers added, multiple music platforms to be heard on (over 20 and growing). Over 70 major USA cities and 70 countries from around the world are all figuring out that the Halshack is where its at and my quality of bands is above all others. Its June, Summer is upon us and starry skies are abundant in the sultry nighttime sky here in the Carolinas. Its a beautiful sight to see as I set my starry eyed gaze on conquering the music universe.
This show is one of those more artsy musically skilled type shows full of eclectic bands sure to please your whimsical palette. Americana/folk, some alternative to start, lots of great "pop" hits as well and plenty of cool rock songs to send your mind wandering off into the stratosphere!
3 Excellent Canadian bands taking flight as well as our favorite Italian band on the planet from Malta will be joining this expedition to the stars. New producer JAEM is shooting his lucky stars and there's even a Pink Floyd esque band in the mix as well.
Just the perfect show for taking a trip through space and learning all about how your life can change in a blink of an eye when that rare comet comes around and streaks a blaze of light into your life! Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there. We're celebrating women around the Halshack. There seems to be a stigma and true statistics that back up the claim that there are far fewer women at the forefront of the music industry. You find alot more men and male bands with that the extra talent needed to push forward. Well you girls and ladies and Moms are just as awesome and you seem to always have to work harder to gain the attention of your peers and THAT'S UNFAIR!!
Women are just as fantastic and can be super talented just as much as the guys!! (if not better) There's just far fewer to choose from with ace level talent, songwriting skills, captivation ability, "x" factor appeal. Even diggin' in the trenches of the internet audio sphere, I have not come across many that, are not signed or famous already, who have the whole enchilada..lol
Welcome to the future of the music industry folks. I'm sure there are ALOT (probably hundreds or thousands at least or more from all over the world) more than these 8. But that's what I've "discovered" so far. I don't know they are out there until I find them and that's a daunting task. I do have a few more ladies waiting in the wings. You super talented gals are a rare breed indeed. I have 77 acts now with only these 8 having prominent female leads so HATS OFF to you ladies gettin' in here and stickin' it to the MAN...lol
So MOM's everywhere, rejoice that you are amazing at anything you do and don't ever let a man belittle you or treat you badly. Please "don't love a Monster like Lauren Dair". Cant help who you love but you can get help out of that relationship. Any man who treats a woman this way has no concept of love or the value of life and can never make you happy! Please, tell a family member, the police, a friend. Call the battered woman's abuse centers, they will get you help before its too late and you cant call anyone!
We love our MOMs and all the women everywhere. Please respect them and they will respect you back. After all it takes 2 to love and make a happy life and love for Mom and the children (whether kids or adults).

Been on this great music site recently called DROOBLE. Great community for amateur and professional musicians. Lots of good people, listen to music, leave reviews, and engage in a thoughtful and rewarding music community. So i found 2 artists on Drooble that made the grade. Both females too, I was so pleased to find them and I had this idea swirlin around in my head for a girlshack so it was perfect timing to put this out and add brand new artists from DROOBLE. (Maisie Mae Wardley) and (Lucia Banfield). Well done young ladies for grabbing my attention.
We did a review for Maisie Mae already and posted at my website, written by music blogger/band pr manager/and writer of books and poetry Andrea Baskin. Thanks Andrea for the nifty little piece on Maisie. She sure is talented and so are all these brilliant performers.

Well everybody..Nashville was an eye opening and jaw dropping experience. Made some great connects and had some mishaps along the way that have sent my future plans into unknown territory. I've started a movement and made some real headway on the formation of Halshack Records. Only problem is I have no clear concise picture as to where to go next. As my life and label have no real direction right now...lol I'm kind of now in "no man's land" in between the nexus of something good and something stellar or legendary even. The sheer potential of TOP 10 hit bands and artists under my wing is enough to give anyone a swift kick in the head that what I'm about to undertake is monumental and overwhelming at the same time. Looking for investors and partners to make Halshack Records a reality for so many struggling and starving fantastic worthy of stardom indie artists. So have fun as I take you on my journey to "Nowhereville" along the way you will find us feeling up for the cause of it then already gone and moving forward with our plans to conquer the music world! From being on the up to going for high places and screaming out echoes about all our bands. It came down to this current state folks as Ive had a breakdown in Nashville of friendships but I will never give up on my artists or you the fan and find the easy way out. The music fills my spirit up and every face that I meet that doesn't feel the love for good indie music is a faraway place from you the listener. We're on an elevator moving up with the movement that began with one to aspire to new heights, so finally the world would be in our reach where other podcasts are just not there with us on that level. Nashville tried my patience and tried to curb my enthusiasm as well but it only made me grow in lots of ways, made new contacts, gained a new audience and opened my show up to regional support from the entire southeast. These guys have been with me since the shack opened up its little doors and windows and let all these tunes out to the world. They are absolutely the best damn alt/pop band anywhere working today!!! Ive heard BORNS, Walk the Moon, Passion Pit, Young the Giant, Foster the People and any other well known alt band out there today in a similar fashion.
These BIG LABEL bands and others in a similar vein can't EVEN begin to touch the writing prowess of Jonathan Hoonch Kim and the creative blending of the synth laden keys of Gabriel Nava Rodriguez. This band has been quietly in development for years and are now ready to storm your earwax and give your brain an orgasm..lol HIT HIT HIT band, nothing but potential hits one after the other from this very polished, very skilled group of musicians from Cali.
Walla officially started in 2012 with the release of their first EP which included "Animal of Love" and "Rising Tide". From that success they would push on to release 2 more successful ep's as their sound grew and matured into "Nature" ep and then went for more indie type direction with "Gangsters of Suburbia" hitting the digital landscape by 2015.
After that, Walla began to work on cultivating that sound into something more.....Here come problems within the band and creative differences began to manifest within the core 5 members. Soon, that would lead to the demise of Walla after much publicity on the web and thru digital services like Spotify and Soundcloud. Walla had built a name for themselves and was looking at possible record deal from Mountain Dew owned "Greenlight Records". The boys had built one heck of a reputation in SoCal and were headed skyward before creative differences got the best of the group and it all came to a screeching halt.
Circa 2017, from the ashes of the former act rises a new kind of "Walla". Their name is HOONCH, taken after the middle name of the lead and consisting of the main 2 creative forces that made Walla so great (Kim and Rodriguez) This band means absolute freakin' hardcore business!! If you thought Walla was good, Hoonch takes Walla and exponentially improves on their formula to bring you the absolute best most catchy, hooky, fun alt pop gold this side of ..hmmmm..well the planet actually. No joke! Ive scoured the globe. Ive listened to to all the bands like this that are known and popular from years past to present day and you cannot and will not throw a name at me of band from this style and say its better.
I have always and will continue to always call this band the "Cali Pop Kings" cause until the labels or YOU the listener or fans can prove me wrong otherwise. There's not a group out there right now with more character of hit potential than what these guys have to offer.
Mainstream pop GOLD and millions of fans across the world is just the tip of this acts potential. See for yourself. I don't have to sell them. The music sells itself but I just love them a whole lot. These are "my boys" and you will be impressed at the sheer amount of radio hits this band has under their belt and tucked away hidden in their library. These fellas too good to be unknown and swimming around in the sea of obscurity.
THEY INSTANTLY BECAME MY DAUGHTERS FAVE BAND FROM THE MOMENT SHE HEARD THEM.

I'm looking at possibly setting up shop in Tennessee so this is a clandestine venture for yours truly. Scary thoughts, new city, so far away from friends and family but big dreams ahead as me and the gang (Halshack gang that is) reign down a music storm on Nashville of the best mix of rock, pop, alt and americana you will find anywhere on the planet of present day artists.
As you can imagine I have been very restless of late. Cant sleep, cant eat well, vivid dreams when I do sleep and wide eyed daydreamin' of beautiful girls and the bright lights of Nashville. Hoping to find that cool place I can call Fletcher Bay (reference to ep 13 song from UK artist Harry Pane). So as I reconcile memories of home and past loves to thoughts about a future in the professional music industry with a chance to change the world through music, I press on with guile and determination to succeed. We all have delusions of grandeur but when we have so many quality songs and artists its hard not to see the grand scheme behind all these big dreams, thoughts, memories, and my electric beautiful life that lies ahead of me on this road of stereo dreams.
HIP HIP HOORAY folks!! We almost made it!! Keep dreamin' BIG bands and fans and hopefully the wheels will be rolling soon and we will be inking some deals in music city!!

Hi again everyone..surprise!! Im back with another show for March. I know the end of VERBAL ACTIONS has you sweltering and drooling for more Savage Henry then you've come to the right place.
Life may have forced your hand to look elsewhere for love and respect in your life. Life may be great for you and you may have found never-ending happiness. Whatever the case I hope life is kind to you and opens doors for your future should you feel that same passion as I to change your life and give it meaning, purpose and value. My journey started 20 years ago with a "little" but mighty band from Denver, Co. (ON SECOND THOUGHT) lead singer my buddy and friend Damon. I found love through the music of this wonderful beloved band from high in the rockies.
They forever changed my life. A few years later the original act disbanded and the singer and current drummer at the time co-founded a newer tighter well produced and carefully skilled version of this band and together they formed the clandestine SAVAGE HENRY.
Taken after the poetic and yet disturbed writings and teachings of Hunter S. Thompson (FEAR and LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS) Damon cautiously and painstakingly writes the most catchy hooky songs and Stu Miller blends his magical axe laden skills into a fun delve into deep provocative thought yet adds a layer of fun to their arrangements that just cant be found anywhere in today's music.
This band was the ultimate kick-starter for me and my career. This act has allowed me to build a solid reputation to build my name and earn much respect along the way. Savage Henry and On second Thought will be forever immortalized here at the Halshack. One day when I become a record label then maybe the whole world can enjoy this band as I have for the past 20 years.....
I put together a best of playlist from both of their cd releases "ALL IN" and "STEP LIVELY" (you will notice a subtle shift from ska to more rock with the 2nd album, still great!!)but did not include Alive and Kickin' from All In since it was just played at the end of Verbal Actions (Mar 2019).
So as I look back at my life and reflect on my roots and looking at starting over again with new beginnings. If you folks want to know what makes the Halshack tick and what drove my passion for life, love and music. Then look no further cause this is absolutely the funnest good time rock/ska/pop influenced freakin' band you will ever hear!! Guaranteed or my name is not HALSHACK!!

Its the "Lucky 13" and time for the Halloween theme and the bonus ep "Hallowshack". This time around we got 13 very "indie" bands and artists with just the right amount of new flare meets familiar. We got a new popular band Fate Under Fire whose currently involved with the excellent Netflix TV show (13 Reasons Why).
We got some new staff members and writing review crew so please welcome Brandon Barnes and Nate Potts to the crew. Both of them come with decades experience working in FM radio and they have come on board in support of the show and our plight.
We got more new Paper Jackets exclusive tracks plus plenty other neat surprises including new acts from across the pond in Ireland and Great Britain.

Well since this show also runs on 2 radio stations Bombshell Radio and Discover Unsigned, I have 2 hour time slots to fill so I make an extra 45 min showcase on past talent and officially with this release they will be full cd's. (Well as much as I can fit anyway..lol) There will be no me just music and you can find a track list posted on the podcast and at my website.
Now I made 2 versions cause frankly I couldn't decide who to use and who to keep back for episode 12 Shackstars and I thought I would let the radio stations play both if they wanted or they could choose.
