The dusty and crusty have managed to fix their fingers again to type bs to women who assert autonomy over our bodies and life choices. "You're the type of woman who will end up single," they proclaim... and they would be correct. Many of us refuse to have our peace and happy lives disrupted for someone's ungrateful and ignorant son. Join me as I discuss the truth about who really benefits from marriage, and why crusty single males try to use single womanhood as a scare tactic.

I know... the thought of a guy thinking $60 is an "expensive" date is hilarious. In the Black community, we keep circuling back to this topic, which lead me to address the economic and educational disparity between Black women and men; and the rampant misogynoir that allows Black men to see Black women as less deserving of a decent first date. In this episode we laugh at the ludicrously absurd idea that a woman should settle for crumbs; and I go over red flags you absolutely need to pay attention to BEFORE your first date.

In this episode we discuss the importance of Black women emphatically loving the skin we're in. Misogynoir has Black women catching hatred from not only non-Black people, but even the men within our own community. As Black women we aren't given the freedom to be expressive. We aren't given the leeway to be beautifully feminine while embracing a range of human emotions: joy, anger, sadness, and grief. We are only allowed to be one thing: the mule that everyone else expects to labor for them.

In this episode, we explore the twin flame and soul mate dynamics, why the Divine Feminine should absolutely NOT chase after the masculine, and how you can bring yourself closure after he walked away.

Nothing is more frustrating than getting to know a man, starting to date him, and then weeks later you find out that you not only wasted your time; but you were close to losing your sanity because of his immaturity and toxicity.

We could really save ourselves so much heartache if we learn to pay attention to the red flags as soon as they appear. Sometimes we can cause our own frustrations when we date men who are not compatible with us socially or economically. Dating down is a disservice to all women, but especially for Black women, as over 80% of us are breadwinners for our household. Today, we discuss the importance of being "picky". Not only is it critical for us to find financially stable mates, as they are more likely to respect our hardwork and accomplishments; being discriminate in choosing our partners is also the only real way for Black women to accumulate wealth. Love SHOULD have conditions, and there is nothing wrong with waiting for a guy who checks all of your boxes.

This episode is for single mothers, with an emphasis on Black single motherhood. In this episode we explore the dichotomy between how we raise and indoctrinate our boys versus how we negatively label our girls. We also take a hard look at social archaic concepts such as purity culture. For the Black community we see this employed when we label our girls as "fast tailed". The heartbreaking experiences many Black girls faced growing up was discussed in the #FastTailedGirls hashtag created by Mikki Kendall. It's time we reevaluate our approach to parenting so we are no longer enabling sexism to run rampant within our community.

Being both Black and a woman means we have to deal with sexism, racism, and misogynoir. It also means that the people closest to us can cause us the most pain because they haven't healed their own internalized misogyny or sexist beliefs. This episode is for Black girls who are trying to heal. In a world where we face constant anti-Black women sentiments, it's so important for Black girls to know we're loved and cherished, and we deserve happiness.
