In a rematch of last year's championship game, the Lancers and Warriors were not going to let the snow on the field hamper their desire to play at Camp Randall next week. Brookfield Central scored first and Waunakee answered. A couple of missed field goals in the 2nd quarter had the game tied at 7 at halftime. The Lancers Rashad Lampkin found an opportunity to help his team take the lead on a 42 yard run to the endzone early in the 3rd quarter. The teams traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter to keep it a close game. Brookfield Central holds on to win 20-13 in Oconomowoc.

In a battle between the Badger North and South conferences, Monona Grove and Waunakee knew they had to dig deep to play on. Waunakee QB Jarrett Wulf created several opportunities including two big scoring plays in the first half to put Waunakee up 17-0 at the half. Great field position and a tough defense helped the Warriors add 16 more points in the second half. Monona Grove broke up the shutout late in the 4th quarter with an Ethan Beehner TD run. Waunakee moves on with a 33-7 win.

In a rematch of Week #4, these two teams were prepared to battle for a chance to move on. Deforest jumped out early to a two score lead in the first quarter. Waunakee rallied back to take a 16-14 lead into halftime. In the second half, the defenses' shined with each team only scoring once after the break. Two missed field goals by DeForest squandered chances to tie and take the lead in the game. Waunakee sealed the deal with an interception in the endzone with 7 seconds left. Waunakee wins and moves on 23-20.

Madison Memorial had the opportunity to split the Big 8 title with Sun Prairie with a win tonight against Janesville Craig at Monterey Stadium in Janesville. The Cougars strike early and go up 14-0. Madison Memorial rallies back to knot it up at 14 at halftime. After halftime, the Spartans take charge and don't look back including their second defensive TD of the game. Madison Memorial locks the cage on the Cougars. Final Score: Madison Memorial 41, Janesville Craig 27.

Sun Prairie flew into Middleton with the intent of spoiling their homecoming in Week #8. This game was featured as a part of the Great American Rivalry Series which shines the spotlight on top high school football rivalries across the nation, where long-standing traditions are valued, expectations are sky high, and followers are committed.
In what turned out to be a wet night on the turf at Otto Breitenbach Stadium, Sun Prairie's DL Maven Kretche started the scoring with a strip and a rumble to the endzone. He also tallied 5 sacks in the game. Cooper Nelson also caught 2 passes for scores. Sun Prairie improves to 7-1, Middleton falls to 5-3. Final Score: Sun Prairie 35, Middleton 7

Week #5 featured the 25th Battle for Burt Hable's Clipboard between Madison West and Madison Memorial. With 4 mins left in the 2nd qtr, it was all tied up at 7-7. Madison Memorial then unleashed their potent offense scoring twice in the last 3 minutes along with a Pick 6 from Jeremiah Jordan. Memorial led 28-7 at the half. Kelvin Opoku-Appoh of Madison West scored on a 21 yard TD run halfway through the 4th quarter to keep it interesting. Final Score Madison Memorial 35, Madison West 13. At halftime, we had the chance to speak with Curt Hable's son, Chuck, about his father's impact on the game and the legacy of the clipboard trophy.

The Week #4 match-up included 2 teams that have had their defenses' shine in previous weeks. Those defenses were ready go early in this game. They traded defensive stops and a couple of TDs with Waunakee kicking a Field Goal to end the 1st half. Waunakee led 17-7 at the half. In the 2nd half, Waunakee had more big defensive stops and responded with TDs. Including a fumbled punt return that led to Waunakee points. Waunakee runs away with the win in the end, 31-7. The Haltime show included an interview with Reedsburg coach, Brian Pottinger, talking about how his team and school have been affected and reacted to the recent flooding.

Don't count out Week #3 of the 2018 season. Oregon traveled to Monona Grove. Monona Grove's Jalen Ostrowsky scored midway through the 1st quarter, then the game got interesting. Between this point and the final whistle, there was a missed Field Goal, several 4th down conversion failures, a couple of interceptions, and a lot of yellow flags on the field. Ostrowsky piles up 200+ yds and 2 touchdowns to help his team to a victory. Monona Grove 21, Oregon 7.

In a rain-soaked affair that went back and forth all game long, the Verona defense sealed it with a big interception with less than 90 seconds remaining in the game.
