Muskego's ground game with 3 different players tallying TDs led to a 21-7 lead for Muskego at halftime. Capitalizing on turnovers and Muskego's RB Alex Current adding his 3rd score of the night helped the defending Division 1 champion Warriors pull away in the 2nd half.

The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #12 featured a Level 3 Playoff clash with Sun Prairie vs Madison Memorial at Mansfield Stadium in Madison. Unfavorable weather/field conditions led to a 10-7 lead for Sun Prairie at halftime. Spartans RB tandem of Kam Marshall and Kabaris Vasser sparked a wild 4th qtr.

The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #11 featured a Level 2 Playoff clash with Middleton vs Madison Memorial at Mansfield Stadium in Madison. Unfavorable weather/field conditions along with capitalizing on turnovers secured a 21-0 lead for Madison Memorial at halftime. Spartans QB Jason Ceniti added a score on the ground in the 3rd qtr and the defense forced a safety in the 4th to seal the shutout.

The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #10 featured a Level 1 Playoff clash with Sauk Prairie at Stoughton. Sauk Prairie opened the scoring late in the 1st, but Stoughton answered with 2 scores in the 2nd to take a 12-7 lead into halftime. Vikings QB Adam Hobson adds his 2nd and 3rd score thru the air in the 3rd qtr. The Eagles add a rushing TD in the 4th, but couldn't overcome the Stoughton defense.

The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #9 featured a Badger North clash with Waunakee at DeForest. A see-saw defensive battle in the 1st half had DeForest take a 7-6 lead into halftime. The 2nd half belonged to DeForest. 3 rushing TDs and a score thru the air overcame Waunakee's defense as Deforest pulled away late.
Final Score: DeForest 35, Waunakee 13.
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #8 featured a Big Eight clash with Middleton at Sun Prairie. Middleton scored 1st with a fumble recovery in the endzone halfway through the 1st qtr. Sun Prairie adds 2 scores through the air in the 2nd qtr to take a 13-7 lead into halftime. The 2nd half belonged to the Middleton ground game. RBs Kallion Buckner and Keewon Buford each had 2 scores as Middleton pulled away late.

The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #7 featured a Big Eight clash with Madison LaFollette at Verona. The Wildcats welcomed the Lancers to Verona looking to maintain their unbeaten homecoming streak under Coach Richardson. In a game that featured big rushing plays on one side of the field throughout, the 2 Verona RBs Anderson and Acker both had over 100+ yds rushing in the 1st half. Verona held a 34-13 at halftime The 2nd half belonged to Verona. The Wildcats defense held the Lancers scoreless in the 2nd half and their offense added 3 more scores as well.
Final Score: Verona 54, Madison LaFollette 13
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #6 featured a Big Eight clash with Verona at Madison Memorial. The Wildcats traveled to Mansfield Stadium looking to tear apart the Spartans unblemished record and their homecoming celebration. In a game that was delayed 30 minutes by thunderstorms, the Wildcats were clicking on all cylinders in the 1st half by scoring on the ground, through the air, and corralling the Spartans on defense. Verona adds a FG as time expired in 1st half to take a 24-7 lead into the locker room. The 2nd half belonged to Madison Memorial. Spartans HB Kabaris Vasser scores twice in the last 4+ mins including a 3yd 2nd effort stretch TD run as time expired in the 4th to push Memorial to 6-0.
Final Score: Madison Memorial 27, Verona 24.
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #5 featured a Badger North clash with DeForest at Sauk Prairie. Sauk Prairie broke the scoreless tie late in the 1st qtr. DeForest add 2 scores and a safety on a fumbled punt in the 2nd to take a 17-7 lead into halftime. Deforest's ground game took over in the 2nd half with 3 scores of 30+ yards in the 3rd qtr. DeForest RB Evan Armstrong scores twice in that window. DeForest's special teams added a blocked punt for a score late in the 4th qtr. Final Score: DeForest 52, Sauk Prairie 13.
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #4 featured a Big Eight clash with Middleton at Madison Memorial. A score on the ground and one through the air, both in the 2nd qtr, helped Madison Memorial take a 14-3 lead into halftime. Madison Memorial QB Jason Ceniti had a highlight reel night with 2 scores on the ground, one thrown through the air and a sack on defense late in the game. The Spartans LB Kaden Reetz added 2 INTs in the 4th qtr to seal the win. Middleton QB Drew Teff tallied the only Cardinals TD with a 2yd run in the 3rd. Final Score: Madison Memorial 28, Middleton 11
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #3 featured a Badger South clash with Stoughton at Oregon in the "Battle for 138". Stoughton RB Quinn Arnott tallied 2 rushing scores in the 1st half as Stoughton took a 28-14 lead into the break. Stoughton QB Adam Hobson adds 2 more rushing scores in the 3rd qtr and holds on for the win. Oregon RB Mason Grender added an 80 yd kickoff return for a TD and RB Teague Szudy added his 2nd rushing score late to keep it close. Final Score: Stoughton 42, Oregon 34
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #2 featured a Big Eight clash with Verona at Middleton. A see-saw affair through the 1st half as Verona took a 27-20 lead into halftime. In the 2nd half, the Verona offense took over. The Wildcats racked up 588 yards of offense on the ground alone. Verona's RB Jackson Acker with 244 yds on the ground and 3 scores. Middleton's RB Kallion Buckner also added 3 scores in the loss. Final Score: Verona 61, Middleton 35
The Shoebox Game of the Week - Week #1 featured Monona Grove at Waunakee. End of the 1st quarter, Waunakee led 14 -6 in a back and forth battle. The remaining 3 quarters belonged to Waunakee. 40 unanswered points by the Warriors turned into a 1-sided affair. Caden Lewis hauls in 3 TDs, Alec Morgan runs for 3 TDs. Final Score: Waunakee 54, Monona Grove 6.
Lake Mills took a 10-7 halftime lead on Menomonie, but the Mustangs rallied with 27 unanswered second-half points to defeat the L-Cats 34-10 in the season opener of the 2019 season. [WMEQ-Menomonie broadcast]
The Blackhawk Warrior take on the Edgar Wildcats in the WIAA Division 7 State Football Championship
In a rematch of last year's championship game, the Lancers and Warriors were not going to let the snow on the field hamper their desire to play at Camp Randall next week. Brookfield Central scored first and Waunakee answered. A couple of missed field goals in the 2nd quarter had the game tied at 7 at halftime. The Lancers Rashad Lampkin found an opportunity to help his team take the lead on a 42 yard run to the endzone early in the 3rd quarter. The teams traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter to keep it a close game. Brookfield Central holds on to win 20-13 in Oconomowoc.
In a battle between the Badger North and South conferences, Monona Grove and Waunakee knew they had to dig deep to play on. Waunakee QB Jarrett Wulf created several opportunities including two big scoring plays in the first half to put Waunakee up 17-0 at the half. Great field position and a tough defense helped the Warriors add 16 more points in the second half. Monona Grove broke up the shutout late in the 4th quarter with an Ethan Beehner TD run. Waunakee moves on with a 33-7 win.
In a rematch of Week #4, these two teams were prepared to battle for a chance to move on. Deforest jumped out early to a two score lead in the first quarter. Waunakee rallied back to take a 16-14 lead into halftime. In the second half, the defenses' shined with each team only scoring once after the break. Two missed field goals by DeForest squandered chances to tie and take the lead in the game. Waunakee sealed the deal with an interception in the endzone with 7 seconds left. Waunakee wins and moves on 23-20.
In a rematch of Week #8, Middleton and Sun Prairie were ready to fill the highlight reel. The game featured 2 kick-off returns for TDs, several long scoring plays and a safety to cap it off. Sun Prairie's Richie Gilles threw for 200+ yards passing and 2 scores. Middleton's Kallion Buckner tallied 3 touchdowns. Sun Prairie outlasts Middleton 42-36.
As we close out the regular high school football season in Week #9, our game of the week lived up to the hype. Madison Memorial had the opportunity to split the Big 8 title with Sun Prairie with a win tonight against Janesville Craig at Monterey Stadium in Janesville. The Cougars strike early and go up 14-0. Madison Memorial rallies back to knot it up at 14 at halftime. After halftime, the Spartans take charge and don't look back including their second defensive TD of the game. Madison Memorial locks the cage on the Cougars. Final Score: Madison Memorial 41, Janesville Craig 27.
Sun Prairie flew into Middleton with the intent of spoiling their homecoming in Week #8. This game was featured as a part of the Great American Rivalry Series which shines the spotlight on top high school football rivalries across the nation, where long-standing traditions are valued, expectations are sky high, and followers are committed.
In what turned out to be a wet night on the turf at Otto Breitenbach Stadium, Sun Prairie's DL Maven Kretche started the scoring with a strip and a rumble to the endzone. He also tallied 5 sacks in the game. Cooper Nelson also caught 2 passes for scores. Sun Prairie improves to 7-1, Middleton falls to 5-3. Final Score: Sun Prairie 35, Middleton 7
Week #7 featured two teams from the Big Eight conference. Verona and Madison La Follette. Haakon Anderson led the Verona offense with a balanced night, scoring 3 times. Verona took advantage of the field position battle and was in the driver's seat throughout the game. Final Score: Verona 47, Madison La Follette 14. At Halftime, we featured a review of the 2018 WIAA Girl's high school golf playoffs and spoke with coaches from Waunakee, Lake Mills, and Cambridge of the importance of their Week #7 games.
Week #5 featured the 25th Battle for Burt Hable's Clipboard between Madison West and Madison Memorial. With 4 mins left in the 2nd qtr, it was all tied up at 7-7. Madison Memorial then unleashed their potent offense scoring twice in the last 3 minutes along with a Pick 6 from Jeremiah Jordan. Memorial led 28-7 at the half. Kelvin Opoku-Appoh of Madison West scored on a 21 yard TD run halfway through the 4th quarter to keep it interesting. Final Score Madison Memorial 35, Madison West 13. At halftime, we had the chance to speak with Curt Hable's son, Chuck, about his father's impact on the game and the legacy of the clipboard trophy.
The Week #4 match-up included 2 teams that have had their defenses' shine in previous weeks. Those defenses were ready go early in this game. They traded defensive stops and a couple of TDs with Waunakee kicking a Field Goal to end the 1st half. Waunakee led 17-7 at the half. In the 2nd half, Waunakee had more big defensive stops and responded with TDs. Including a fumbled punt return that led to Waunakee points. Waunakee runs away with the win in the end, 31-7. The Haltime show included an interview with Reedsburg coach, Brian Pottinger, talking about how his team and school have been affected and reacted to the recent flooding.
Don't count out Week #3 of the 2018 season. Oregon traveled to Monona Grove. Monona Grove's Jalen Ostrowsky scored midway through the 1st quarter, then the game got interesting. Between this point and the final whistle, there was a missed Field Goal, several 4th down conversion failures, a couple of interceptions, and a lot of yellow flags on the field. Ostrowsky piles up 200+ yds and 2 touchdowns to help his team to a victory. Monona Grove 21, Oregon 7.
In an attempt to 1-up our Week #1 game, Verona traveled to Middleton. In a rain-soaked affair that went back and forth all game long, the Verona defense sealed it with a big interception with less than 90 seconds remaining in the game. Our special guest at halftime was Middleton coach Tim Simon talking about how his players have participated in the relief effort of those affected by the recent flooding. Verona 27, Middleton 22.
