VOODOOHOP is an outlandish art collective born from a series of underground parties and is now a striking artistic movement in Brazil. Through 6 years of collaborative events, Voodoohop has gathered a myriad of artists from different disciplines with the likes of Djs, live performers, dancers and visual artists. Together they have created a multi sensory tropical cabaret, mixing colourful and exuberant visuals, combined with elements of Brasilian traditional heritage and ritualistic performance. Nomadic in nature, the collective has transformed spaces ranging from abandoned buildings to natural hideaways. Always experimenting with different media and formats, Voodoohop is in constant flux.
After raising 7000 Reais for the Amazon Jungle with our first fundraising project "Mamazonia", we are happy to announce a new moment of VOODOOHOP's label with “Meio Caminho Andado”, the first single of the first full length record on our label by the non-binary producer @gvmv, under the alias and band project Numa Gama. @malumujer Like a rose in the dessert, malu.mujer is a woman of contrasts who likes to explore the shade between light and darkness, consideringas femeninity as an interplay between soft and hardcore. Her inspiration comes mainly from Bolero, concrete music, Twerk, Ambient, Psychedelic Rock, Almodovar filmography, Traditional Folklore, Latin subculture and Noise. malu.mujer is also part of Todavia Duras, Berlin based female and non-binary dj and performance gang promoting neo perreo as a part of women emancipation.
