On this edition we speak with Jonathan Edwards about his family’s decision to start fostering children in need, as well as his work with Prospects and Torch Trust. In recognition of Dementia Awareness Week we hear from three people who have very different experiences with dementia. We also drop in to the Wenlo School of Riding to find out all about the RDA – that’s the Riding for the Disabled Association! And finally we revisit PAT Dogs with Debra Davis, a former PAT Dog owner, who took her dog Jake into hospitals to visit patients in need of some comfort.
On this edition we chat with Julia Hyde, Torch's latest recruit, about her exciting new role with us, plans for more wonderful things coming at Torch, and how music continues to shape her faith. We have a rebroadcast of a popular Attitudes of Christ episode written by Marilyn, and we speak with Mike Brace, former CEO of Vision 2020, Paralympic skier and social worker about his new book, 'Don't Ask Me, Ask the Dog' - part two of his autobiography. And finally we learn all about a wonderful new musical that tells the story of Louis Braille and how his work changed the lives of many with sight loss forever.
On this month's podcast we speak with Bill Skipworth, a previous guest of our show who has a very interesting and unusual update to share with us about his sight loss journey and his faith. We also chat to Val Muir who, at the age of 72, packed her bags and travelled halfway around the world to answer God's calling to support people in need. Lynn McCann tells us all about her popular blog Included by Grace, aiming at supporting people with autism to be truly included in church and community. And finally we have a great Lent special which takes a good look at this time of reflection and preparation and features an extract from Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby's new book, Dethroning Mammon.
This month's podcast includes a chat with Cristina Gangemi about her work with the Kairos Forum who support adults with disabilities, we report from the No Limits Conference about some of the wonderful talks given there. We also take a look at angels and angelic encounters, as well as speaking with Ann Memmott about her experiences with autism and how she now supports other people who have it.
