Bartlett Bunny decides to explore the main room of the animal shelter, and it’s a little overwhelming, but his friends help him feel calm again.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:55
Bunny Best Friends Excerpt:
Bartlett and Lovina were a bonded pair: best friends forever. They longed to have a forever home and a family to love. But for now, while they waited, they were comfortable at the shelter. Their enclosure was quite spacious, with lots of things to play with. They had two tunnels, a hidey-house, two litter boxes, as well as lots of soft blankets to lay on and plenty of room to play and binky.
When bunnies are happy, they do binkies. A binky is a special kind of jump, where the bunny flings themself into the air as if they have springs in their paws. Bartlett’s best binkies had mid-air twists and even some butt wiggles. Lovina’s binkies often included straight leaps into the air and tail wags. The thing all their binkies had common was joy.

Dragon visits a little pond and tries to float like Dylan Duck, but it doesn’t go as planned.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:17
Floating Dragon Excerpt:
This place was quite far from Dragon’s home in the center of the forest. In fact, Dragon had never been to this pond before. They had decided to simply fly into the sky and land someplace new. Dragon really enjoyed exploring. You never knew what you would see or who you would meet. On this day, Dragon had landed near a cute little pond. It was a beautiful place near a lovely little farm, where various vegetables grew in tidy rows.
Just as Dragon was looking around, a little duck burst through the nearby bushes, quacking happily, heading straight for Dragon and the water. The duck was waddling so quickly it didn’t see Dragon at first, until it waddled into Dragon’s shadow. Then it paused and peered up, right at Dragon.

He ate from the same patches of forest plants, and saw the same trees, and lived in the same burrow as he had lived his whole life. The same forest animals lived nearby, too.
He got up, scurried out of his burrow and looked around. It was a beautiful day. The air smelled sweet with wildflowers, and the mid-morning sun was creeping higher and higher in the clear sky. The air was still and peaceful as a butterfly fluttered by on its wiggly path.

Liam gets ready to audition for his very first musical! How will he keep from being nervous?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:55
Awesome Audition Excerpt:
At school, during music class, the teacher announced auditions for the upcoming school musical. Liam got very excited when he heard this because he loved musicals. His mom had taken him to see a few musicals at the local playhouse, and Liam enjoyed everything about the experience: from the music and singing to the dancing and the costumes.
Liam and his mom had talked many times about musicals. He always said the performers looked like they were having so much fun. One time, Liam asked how people got to be onstage. His mom explained that they had to audition, which meant the performer had to show their skills to the people who choose the cast. Then, his mom added that she thought Liam would be a wonderful performer. This made Liam’s heart feel full.

Javier goes to the audiologist to play some listening games and see if his ears need some help.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:41
Listening Games Excerpt:
Grey clouds blanketed the afternoon sky, promising forthcoming rain. As Javier looked up through the car window, he felt a bit relieved that he wouldn’t be missing a sunny day perfect for skateboarding outside. Instead, his father was taking him to the doctor.
Javier remembered the last parent-teacher conference when his teacher had gently suggested the visit. She had noticed that Javier sometimes missed instructions or didn’t respond when spoken to. His parents took the teacher’s advice and made an appointment with a special doctor called an audiologist. Javer’s mom had explained that audiologists are doctors who check your hearing and do their best to help you hear better if you are having difficulty.

Lisa and her parents have fun cleaning up autumn leaves.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:40
Leafy Fun! Excerpt:
Lisa gazed out the window at her front yard. All she could see was leaves. There wasn’t even a glint of green – neither green grass nor green leaves. Instead the ground was a wash of warm, autumnal colors: all shades of brown, sprinkled here and there with pops of red, orange, and golden yellow. Lisa knew what that meant. Time to rake leaves!
Just then her mom walked into her room and said, “Hi hon! I could use your help with something.”
Lisa turned to look at her mom. “Leaves?”
“How did you know?” Her mom smiled.

A curious piece of paper is excited to learn its purpose! What will it become?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:52
A Page’s Purpose Excerpt:
In a quiet shop on Ahway Island, the back-to-school sales were in full swing. A vibrant display of pencils, folders, erasers, and other classroom supplies stood proudly near the entrance.
On one shelf sat a blue notebook. It was neatly bound with blank, white pages that were waiting patiently for someone to pick them up and put them to use. As they waited, the pages liked to whisper to each other, dreaming of the fun things they could be used for.
Today’s Meditation: Love flows through you in this meditation as you imagine a baby fawn and mama deer.###### Creating the original bedtime stories and art for Be Calm on Ahway Island takes a lot of time and care.

Shiloh Sheep helps his flock practice being patient when it’s time for a special meal.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:42
Polite Pasture Excerpt:
The sun hid behind a blanket of soft gray clouds, making the pasture misty and cool. Fluffy white sheep, looking like little clouds themselves, dotted the vibrant green grass. Even without the sun’s bright rays, the little farm was peaceful and beautiful. A fresh, rainy scent lingered in the air, carried by a gentle breeze that just tickled the sheep beneath their wool. It was a perfect day for grazing.
Everything was calm and quiet when Shiloh Sheep noticed the farmer on the other side of the fence. The farmer held a bucket in his hands, and Shiloh’s nose twitched. He sniffed the air deeply. Could it be? Could that sweet smell really be molasses-coated oats?

Britney is excited to have Emily over and teach her friend all about basketball!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:52
Dribble and Pass Excerpt:
It was a warm afternoon on Ahway Island. Rays of sunshine streamed through the window of the Love family home as Mr. Love and his daughter Britney sat on the couch, reading. Well, Mr. Love was reading, but Britney was just sort of staring at the words on the page. She was having a hard time concentrating, because she was so excited. Every other minute, she looked out the window expectantly, hoping to see a car pull into the driveway. But there was no car yet. She glanced over to their front lawn, noticing how vibrantly green the grass was.
As Britney continued to look out the window, she noticed her bicycle sitting by the edge of the driveway. She admired her bright purple training wheels and sparkly pink handlebar wraps. Nearby, next to her smaller basketball hoop, Britney’s basketball sat, ready to be put to use as soon as Britney’s friend Emily arrived.

Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:40
Dear Helpers Excerpt:
It was a rainy and cold autumn afternoon. But Lydia didn’t mind that she couldn’t play outdoors today. She was perfectly happy to stay inside, because she had her boxes of markers and crayons and colored pencils. She even had a few glitter pens that she had gotten for her last birthday! So she was very content to stay at the kitchen table and create art.
Lydia had just begun drawing a portrait of her parents when she heard her Dad’s phone ring from the other room. She heard her Dad talking for a minute, and then he came into the kitchen.

Janine Giraffe wants to reach all the way up to the stars.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:37
Reach for the Stars Excerpt:
It was a gorgeous late summer evening in the Ahway Island animal sanctuary. The sun sank lower and lower, making the grassland appear pink and purple in the fading light. The air was calm and peaceful, and the first twinkling stars were just starting to appear in the dusky sky. Janine Giraffe was out enjoying the beautiful evening with the other little giraffes, prancing around on their long legs, chasing one another and laughing.
In between one of their games, Janine paused for a moment and looked up at the sky. The stars were now more visible, shining brightly against the deepening blue. They looked like tiny diamonds, and Janine found their twinkling absolutely enchanting.

After Dragon observes band practice in the park, Gerry Robin helps them plan a forest band of their own!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:47
Dragon the Conductor Excerpt:
It was a perfect afternoon on Ahway Island. The temperature was just right, as the sun slowly made its way across the sky and huge, puffy, fluffy clouds drifted lazily in the gentle breeze. School was done for the day, and some of the kids had begun afternoon activities.
Dragon sat in the grass at the park, watching the kids having band practice under the park’s band shell. This was the junior band, which was smaller and made up of the younger kids in town who were in their earliest years of playing their instruments.
Dragon had decided to observe the band practice because they loved listening to music of all kinds. Whether it was the children practicing their instruments, or the birds chirping their unique songs, or the frogs croaking in a chorus, or the wind whistling sweetly through the trees, the world was filed with glorious
music and Dragon immensely enjoyed all of it.

Bert Bumblebee discovers some mysterious nectar, and Bobbi Butterfly helps him investigate!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:00
Nectar Detectives Excerpt:
On a lovely morning on Ahway Island, the sun shined down on the flowers that dotted the meadows and gardens. A soft breeze tickled their petals, shaking the dew from them. A little bumblebee was dozing on one such petal. Feeling this gentle swaying, Bert Bumblebee woke up, stretched his fuzzy legs, and yawned. With a happy hum, he took off for a flight. It was a beautiful day to go and gather some delicious nectar.
Bert buzzed cheerfully through the familiar patch of wildflowers. He dipped his round little body between their white petals and took a deep, refreshing drink of the sweet nectar. The pollen tickled his legs as he flitted from flower to flower.

Autumn Clean-Up Excerpt:
Sunlight spilled into the room, waking up Joe. He sighed and stretched. It was a Saturday morning in early autumn – Joe’s favorite time of the year! Those crisp, cool days, when the leaves fell down from the trees like multi-colored rain. Those chilly evenings when Joe could curl up with a book in front of a cozy fire.
Joe and his sister Theresa both had to help with chores around the house, and in the fall, Joe’s job was to help clean up the yard, especially by clearing up all the leaves on the lawn. But Joe didn’t mind. Actually, raking and blowing leaves was his favorite chore. He loved making big piles of leaves on the lawn and he always had fun using the big leaf blower.

Mildred Moray Eel tries to discover the source of a loud noise that scared her friends.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:45
Moray Mission Excerpt:
It was a pleasant morning in the Ahway Island reef. Gentle sunlight filtered through the water, making the walls of Mildred Moray Eel’s cozy cave glow. Mildred stretched luxuriously. Her long, slender body curved gracefully as she made her way to the cave entrance. Mildred peered out from the opening. She sighed happily as she watched a school of vibrantly colored fish swim by in a joyful parade. Their scales shimmered in the sunlight, creating a dazzling underwater spectacle as the sea creatures laughed and played.
Suddenly, a loud rumbling noise shattered the joyful scene. A dark shadow passed by overhead, momentarily blocking the warm sunbeams. Startled, the little fish scattered in all directions, disappearing into the nooks and crannies of the reef. The playful parade had vanished in an instant.

Ballet Bunny practices her dancing and teaches Dragon how to turn and spin.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 9:39
Dance Class Excerpt:
Ballet Bunny had just finished lunch in her den and was now cleaning up. The last few days had been rainy, so she felt grateful have a dry and cozy home. This morning the rain had finally stopped and now the sun was peeking out from behind the clouds. The wet spots on the ground outside were drying up, which meant she could practice her dancing outside today! It had been a few days since she had been able to practice outside and she was feeling a little restless. Her body needed to move!
Before going outside, Ballet Bunny took a few minutes to warm up her body before beginning to practice dancing. It was important to stretch before doing any strenuous dance moves, especially since she hadn’t danced in several days.

Best friends, Baba Panda and NapNap Crocodile, make music together!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:15
The Music Lesson Excerpt:
It was a fresh and beautiful morning. The birds sang happily in the trees, rejoicing in the crisp, cool morning air. It was one of those mornings that made you feel happy to be alive. That’s how Baba Panda felt, anyway. She had eaten her morning breakfast of bamboo with an extra amount of enjoyment. As she ate, she listened to the birds singing, enjoying their music. Baba didn’t know how to sing herself, but she loved to listen to other animals sing.
After breakfast, she wandered down to the stream. That was one of her favorite places, besides the bamboo forest, of course. Baba loved the stream for so many reasons. The stream always felt restful and cool, no matter how hot the weather might be. The water was fun to play in, and it tasted delicious to drink! The stream was full of little rocks and as the water splashed over them, it sounded almost like music. Baba loved music of all sorts. But her favorite thing about the stream was that her best friend lived there.

Peter thinks metaphors are silly, but he still appreciates learning about language.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:02
Mighty Metaphors Excerpt:
The fourth-graders chatted happily as they filed into the classroom, buzzing with excitement. Mid-morning sunlight filled the room, making the colorful posters and artwork lining the walls look even brighter. The students all found comfy spots at their desks, which were arranged in a big horseshoe shape. This way, everyone could see each other and their friends, which made it easy to share ideas and work together.
Miss Cho stood at the opening of the horseshoe and greeted the class with a warm smile. “Good morning, everyone! Today, we’re going on an adventure in the land of language!” she said.

Ballet Bunny thumps her foot at the Spring storm to warn her friends and scare away the thunder. Will it work?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:29
Thumping Thunder Excerpt:
Clouds filled the sky above the Ahway Island forest. A strong breeze shook the branches of the trees. Ballet Bunny stood on her hind legs with her ears perked up. She had been in the middle of practicing her pirouettes, when she noticed that the sky was getting darker and darker. The little bunny furrowed her brows in thought.
As Ballet considered the weather, a flash of red caught her eye as a bird landed on a branch of one of the trees above. “Good morning, Ballet!” chirped Carrie Cardinal, her voice bright and cheery.

Joe and his dad make dinner for the family using a favorite recipe.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:15
Family Recipe Excerpt:
A cool breeze ruffled the curtains in the living room. The windows had been opened wide to welcome in the fresh afternoon air. It was late summer, and the days were still warm and long. But the evenings were growing cooler than before, and darkness came earlier and earlier with each passing week. Soon it would be autumn.
Sitting in his favorite chair in the living room, Joe barely noticed the breeze, or anything else really. He was reading one of his favorite books and was completely engrossed in the story and the characters. Joe loved to read. Books brought him on adventures where he met wonderful people and animals. Books showed him fantastic places and taught him new things about himself and others. Joe sighed happily as he turned each page of his book, lost in the world of the story. Time slipped by unnoticed.

Prince Grey Kitty enjoys the beautiful colors in his world.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 11:08
Mesmerizing Ribbons Excerpt:
“What a beautiful summer afternoon!” thought Prince Grey Kitty. He was perched in his favorite viewing spot, the windowsill of the great window in the front room. He gazed out of the window and relished the picture before his eyes. The world seemed especially colorful today. The sun shone brightly, and the sky was a beautiful azure blue, dotted with just a few pure white clouds. The trees seemed extra beautiful, with their green leaves swaying ever so slightly in the summer breeze. The movement of the leaves and branches created ever-changing patterns on the ground below as the sunlight filtered through. Along the edges of the yard, the oleanders were in full bloom, with patches of flowers in white, pink, and fuchsia.
On the front porch, which Prince Grey could see from his big window, Prince Grey’s Human had placed containers of bright orange and yellow hibiscus and had hung long planters full of deep red geraniums on the porch railings. Two big pots of purple lavender were placed in the corners of the porch steps. Everywhere he looked, Prince Grey saw beautiful colors. They made him think of his favorite toy, ribbons! His Human had many ribbons and she seemed to think that their purpose was to be made into crafting projects, but Prince Grey knew they were really for him to play with.

Dragon goes to the mountains again to meet Ahanu Pika and makes a special connection with Ahanu’s sister Acadia.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:27
Dragon’s Special Friend Excerpt:
It was a usual weekday on Ahway Island. In the town, the kids were in school, and townspeople were doing all the things people do on a regular day. At the beach, the waves rolled in towards the shore in gentle swish-swishes, turning the soft white sand a darker gray as it became laden with water. The sparkling train made its usual circuit around the Island with its electrical power making only the most gentle whirring sound as it glided along the silver track.
On this particular day in the Ahway Island forest, Dragon walked with purpose towards the trail that went up the side of the mountain. While it would have been faster for Dragon to fly, sometimes Dragon preferred walking, and today was one of those days. Dragon liked walking because there were so many interesting things to observe near the ground. On today’s journey, Dragon saw a multitude of tiny plants just starting to grow. There were also lots of different varieties of silky moss carpeting the shady sides of rocks and fallen logs, and a contingent of tiny ants parading back to their anthill, carrying their food finds to share with their friends.

Mark draws a spaceship and learns to be more flexible when his original plan gets changed.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:53
The Colorful Spaceship Excerpt:
Colored markers spilled across the table as Mark dumped out his box of art materials. A red marker slid all the way across the table and dropped on the floor. Mark walked over to the other side of the kitchen table and picked it up. He looked at all the markers in their many different colors and tried to decide what he should draw today. He took a deep breath and sat down. He thought for a moment, and then had an idea!
“That’s it! Today, I will draw a big spaceship!” Mark thought. “It’ll be mostly grey, with blue windows. But I’ll need that red marker for the edges, and a black marker for writing numbers and for the landing gear.”

C.J. takes a ferry ride with their dad to go visit their grandmothers, but has a hard time waiting!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:09
Ferry Time Excerpt:
The morning sun peeked through the curtains, painting bright stripes across C.J. Riva’s room. A single ray landed right on C.J.’s nose, tickling the child awake. C.J. smiled with a wide grin. Today was the day! Today, C.J. and their dad were going on a ferry adventure to see Nonna and Mimi!
C.J.’s grandparents lived in a house by the sea on one of the outlying islands. C.J. was excited to visit– excited for snuggles with Mimi in the hammock outside as they read together, and excited for Nonna’s warm hugs. Nonna was always ready with a steaming cup of hot cocoa and one of her soft, knitted blankets if the sea air ever got a little too chilly.

Caitie Condor has to get creative when she is stuck inside her cave on a rainy day.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:45
Creative Condor: Excerpt:
High in the scenic Ahway Island mountains, Caitie Condor perched at the edge of her cozy cave, gazing out at the majestic canyon spread out below her. Raindrops beat against the rocks outside, splashing at Caitie’s feet. The sky above was draped in a thick blanket of dark grey clouds. Every now and then, a brilliant flash of lightning illuminated the sky, followed by the low rumble of thunder echoing against the mountain’s peaks. It was a day for staying inside, snug and warm.
Caitie loved to look at the canyon, even on stormy days like this. The rugged cliffs, streaked with ribbons of red and orange, reminded her of the colors of the sunrise. Below, the river cut its course through the mountain. Its waters were rising from the rain. James is sad that it’s too rainy to play at the park. But Julia has an idea for a super-fun indoor game.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:53
Train Game Excerpt:
James sighed a long, deep exhale. It was not a like a nice, relaxing Dragon Breath. It was an annoyed, disappointed kind of sigh. It was a Sunday afternoon in deep summer, and James longed to be outside playing at the park. He pressed his nose up against the front window, looking out at the park across the street. If he lookedcarefully, he could see the playground in the distance.
The playground at the park was one of his very favorite places. The playground had ropes to climb on — perfect for pretending to be a pirate! — a twisty slide, monkey bars, and even a tire swing. James and his sister Julia would take turns pushing each other on the swing. Julia usually let James go first, because he was the youngest, and she’d push him round and round and round. When he got too dizzy, they would switch places, until Julia got too dizzy.

When Brandon Block and his friends aren’t picked to play, they come up with a different way to pass the time!
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:19
Lucky Left Out Excerpt:
The morning sunlight streamed through the large windows of the classroom, painting warm squares of light onto the colorful building blocks nestled on the shelves by the cozy play mat. A gentle hum of excitement filled the air as the blocks, organized by size and shape, awaited the arrival of their most favorite people – the children!
Each block had its own special spot. There were the sturdy rectangles, stacked neatly in a tall tower, dreaming of becoming the foundation for a mighty castle. The playful squares giggled amongst themselves, wondering if they might transform into the bright windows of a bustling city. And Brandon, a proud purple triangle block, stood at the front of his section, ready for another day of playtime adventures with the students.

Kumar is going to do a diving start for the first time at his swim meet! What if he forgets how to do it?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:29
Take the Dive! Excerpt:
The car zipped along the sunny road. Wind whooshed through its open windows, and the radio blasted some happy tunes. Kumar bounced in his seat, excitement bubbling in his tummy. Today he was competing in a swim meet! He couldn’t wait to get in the water and race against the other kids.
But there was a tiny knot of worry tangled in his excitement, too. Usually, Kumar would jump into the water and hold onto the wall before kicking off to race. Today was going to be different. Today, he was going to do a real diving start – jumping off from the starting block and gliding headfirst into the water.

Anora and Blanka Bunny learn that working and playing are both important!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:58
Work and Play Excerpt:
Blanka Bunny, the stuffed plush toy bunny, woke up with a start. She had been sleeping in Anora’s bed, just like she had almost every night since she joined Anora’s family. She had been having a lovely dream about playing with Anora, when suddenly she was awakened by Anora’s voice shouting, “Yes, Daddy, okay! I’m doing it!”
Blanka found herself being lifted off the bed and hurriedly carried around the room.
“Sorry, Blanka! I have to clean up right now, really quick! Daddy and I are going the lake today but he said I have to clean my room first!” said Anora. Just then, Dad came into the room.
“Anora, how’s the clean-up coming along?”
“I’m almost done, Daddy,” she replied.
“Are you sure? he said, smiling. “It still looks pretty messy to me.”

Prince Grey Kitty enjoys watching the world through the big front window.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:54
Comfy Kitty Excerpt:
The warm summer sun hung low in the sky, casting long, dusky shadows across the living room floor. Prince Grey kitty loafed luxuriously on the soft living room rug. Prince Grey was a sleek and curious kitty with fur the same color as his name. A contented purr rumbled in his throat as he watched some dust motes dance in the golden evening light.
Though the days were still long, Prince Grey had noticed a subtle change in the evening air. The vibrant sunsets seemed to be arriving a little bit earlier each day. It was a sign that sunny summer was slowly beginning to give way to cozy autumn.

Dragon hears a mysterious “Shhhhh” noise in the forest. Who could it be?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:32
Dragon’s Big Mystery Excerpt:
It was a late afternoon on Ahway Island. In the lush verdant forest, birds twittered joyfully as the foliage on the plants and trees rustled in the breeze. Dragon sat under a sentinel oak tree, leaning back against the trunk, gently tossing a rock up in the air and letting it fall to the ground with a satisfying thunk. Over and over Dragon tossed the rock, and over and over it hit the ground. Thunk. Thunk. Sometimes Dragon tossed the rock gently in the air, and then the thunk sound was quieter. Other times Dragon threw the rock up as high as it would go, and then when it hit the ground, it made a louder thunk.

Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:46
The Magic of Colors — Refreshed! Excerpt:
White fluffy clouds dotted the blue sky and sunshine sparkled on the freshly watered plants. A breeze gently rustled through leaves and branches of the trees. Lydia looked out of the window at the bright blue sky. It was a magnificent day! She began to think of all the fun things she could do outside. She could swing, draw a picture, walk, write a story, ride her bike, or read a book. But just then, her dad walked in carrying some paper, two old shirts, and four colorful containers. “I thought today might be a good day for finger painting!” he said excitedly.
Lydia’s face lit up with a smile. “Ooh, that sounds fantastic! May we paint outside?”

The afternoon sun peeked shyly over the horizon, casting a warm glow on the cozy puffin burrow nestled just south of the arctic area of Ahway Island. Inside, a symphony of chirps filled the air. Pearl the puffin stirred, stretching her wings with a satisfied yawn. It had been a lovely afternoon nap, cuddling close to her mate, Pauly, and their baby chick.
“Sleep well, Pearl?” asked Pauly. His feathers were still a bit ruffled from sleep, and this made Pearl smile.
“It was a nice nap,” sighed Pearl. Then, she heard a peep peep peep coming from beneath them. Pearl looked down. Their little chick gazed up at her with bright eyes, chirping excitedly, with his mouth open wide. He was hungry!

Terry the Truck is excited for the first scenic drive of the season!
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:46
Spring Puddles Excerpt:
Terry the Truck was having a quiet morning. The little truck had been sitting in the garage, wondering what would happen today. With the season turning from winter to spring, his Human Driver had lately been very busy getting Terry ready to go on their favorite scenic drives. For the last two years, beginning after the spring thaws and until the late autumn freezes, Terry and his Driver would take wonderful drives through the countryside. During the last week or so, Driver had been checking Terry’s tires for air; giving Terry clean oil to help his engine, and making sure every little hum, chug, and grumble that Terry made was healthy and safe. It had been a while since he had had this much attention and Terry was excited at the prospect of their upcoming travels. But this morning, Terry hadn’t yet seen Driver.

Culinary Quest Excerpt:
In a cozy little Ahway Island house, surrounded by lush trees and tall grass, lived a girl named Helen. Helen liked to do many things. It was a cool, cloudy day on Ahway Island. The birds circled the neighborhood, searching for trees to nest in, and the squirrels diligently hunted nuts to stow away. The trees shook from the wind, and leaves began to release from their branches.
Eddie De Souza returned to his classroom from recess and sat at his desk, ready to receive his homework for the day. He looked at the board at the front of the classroom and saw the words “Memory Test” written in bright blue.

Grubby Kitty discovers packing peanuts — and makes a mess! But Dad is very patient.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:16
Tumbling Tabby Excerpt:
The afternoon sun poured through the big kitchen window onto the shelf placed under the window. The shelf was covered with some pretty fabric with flowers on it; Mom had put the fabric on the shelf to protect the shelf from scratches, but Grubby Kitty liked to think that she had put it there just for him, because it made a very cozy place to sleep. Grubby Kitty had discovered this wonderful napping location quite recently, and so this afternoon, like every other afternoon for the last two weeks, Grubby was curled up on the fabric, taking a nap in the warmth of the sun.
But suddenly, ding-dong! The front doorbell rang. Grubby woke up with a shake. From
the other room, he heard Dad walk to the door, open it, and shout out “thank you!” Grubby was a little startled at first, as he had been deeply asleep and the noise surprised him. But he took a couple of big Dragon Breaths and felt much better. He stretched and yawned. Now he was wide awake and felt like exploring. Who had been at the door?

The soft glow of moonlight blanketed the Ahway Island Forest. The leaves of the trees shimmered in the moon’s gentle silver light. Fireflies twinkled amidst their branches. Petunia Possum had just awoken from her sleep. With a yawn and a stretch, she poked her head out from the hole in the tree stump that was her home and looked around. Petunia decided it was a lovely evening for a walk.

Fionn the dandelion seed goes on an unexpected journey through the air. Where will he land?
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:50
Drifting Dandelion Excerpt:
It was a cool, sunny morning in the Ahway Island forest. The calm creek trickled water downstream. Birds chirped playfully, coasting from tree to tree, and the sun shined brightly. A gentle breeze carried the aroma of local wildflowers. In the thick, green grass, a bed of once bright yellow dandelions had transformed into a blanket of white, fuzzy seeds clustered together around each flowerhead in the shape of snowballs. Among the hundreds of seeds was Fionn, who was just now seeing the beauty of the forest for the first time.
As Fionn opened his eyes, he gasped as he took in the beauty of the world he had only heard until now. The sapphire sky contrasted brilliantly against the verdant canopy of the forest made Fionn sigh in awe.

Story Begins: 8:55

She hoped the kids had time to play today. Roly wanted to learn more. The little robot looked over to the quiet tablet, and then towards the sound of laughter spilling out of the hallway. Roly wished she could understand what the kids were saying without a translator.
Billy and Emily rushed over to the table. Billy picked up the tablet and said, “Good morning, Roly!” as he typed.

When Emily needs to go to the dentist, her dad and her brother Billy help calm her nerves.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:20
Cheery Checkup Excerpt:
It was a regular day on Ahway Island. It had just rained, and you could feel the dampness in the air. The wind slowly rustled across the grass. Looking out the window of their house, Billy and Emily watched the birds play in a puddle of water next to the tree in their front yard. Emily anxiously played with the bottom of her shirt as she watched a cardinal flutter her wings in the water.
Today was the day that Emily was going to the dentist. Emily fidgeted with her shirt, eventually tearing a small hole in it as she thought more and more about today’s visit. Billy looked over at his sister and watched her fingers run through the hole in her shirt. The dentist always made Emily nervous; she didn’t like it when anyone looked in her mouth.

Billy builds a race track for his toy cars….but then his little sister Emily wants to play with it, too.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 9:03
Race Tracks Excerpt:
Today had been an ordinary day. The sky was cloudy with some sunshine. Billy had followed his usual routine, and he expected the evening would be ordinary as well. His family had just finished dinner and now was the time Billy got to play with his favorite toy, his little yellow race car. Billy loved his little yellow race car. It had shiny black wheels, with a black lightning bolt racing stripe on each side. Billy kept the race car with him all the time, and especially liked to play with it after dinner. That was when he created the race track of the day. Billy had made tracks in the shape of a circle, and in an oval. He had even used a bridge to make a track in the shape of the number eight. “Yes,” He thought to himself. “I’ll make a figure eight today.”

Kiwoo Lizard finds that his favorite basking rock has been covered by a branch! How will he move it?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:49
Sunny Solution Excerpt:
It was a sunny day on Ahway Island. The forest was alive with the cheerful songs of birds flitting from branch to branch. A soft breeze whispered through the trees, causing the leaves to dance. It was the kind of day that made you want to close your eyes and let the sunshine wash all over you. This was exactly what Kiwoo lizard had in mind for a day like today. Having woken up to the sun shining brightly through the trees, Kiwoo just knew he had to make a trip out to his favorite sun-bathing rock. The vibrant greenery of the forest and the warmth of the sun promised a perfect day of relaxation.
With a grin and a gleeful hop, Kiwoo set out on his journey. His favorite rock was near the forest pond, and not too far away. As the little lizard strolled through the forest, he couldn’t help imagining what awaited him. Kiwoo sighed happily. He pictured himself basking there on his favorite rock – the warmth of the sun on his scales, the gentle forest breeze, the soft splish splash of the pond.

Callie and Anora embark on an exciting space adventure with Dragon, exploring imaginary constellations.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 3:46
Astronaut Dragon Excerpt:
Even though it was the weekend, Callie woke up especially early. Today she was going to play at her best friend Anora’s house. Callie and Anora had a lot in common. They both loved playing what they called “imagination stories,” where they would make up a story then act it out. Sometimes they were adventurers exploring a new land. Other times they pretended to be geologists, making discoveries about the planet. And other times, they pretended to be veterinarians, taking care of their stuffies as if they were real animals needing treatment. The best part of playing “imagination stories” is they could pretend to be anything they wanted to!
On this day, Anora told Callie she had also invited over another friend – a new friend that Callie had never met. When Callie had asked who the friend was, Anora said it was Dragon! Having lived on Ahway Island for some time now, Callie had seen Dragon flying overhead in the sky, but had never actually met Dragon up close. Generally, Callie felt shy about meeting new friends, but Anora had spoken so nicely about Dragon that Callie felt more excited than shy. She was ready to meet Dragon.

Bobby the Bus is surprised to be wakened early on a summer morning. After all, he’s a bus on break.
Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 9:30
Bus on Break Excerpt:
Light slipped into the garage where Bobby the Bus slept. The bright yellow bus yawned, wondering what was going on. As the doors opened, Bobby recognized the breathtaking sight of the sun rising and knew it was early in the morning. The yellow bus didn’t have much to do during summer break, especially not early in the morning. Then he heard, “Good morning Bobby!” It was the bus’s driver. Now, Bobby’s curiosity increased. The driver announced, “Guess what? We’re going to drive the kids to day camp.” Bobby’s engine rumbled to life excitedly. What a wonderful surprise! As Bobby drove out of the garage, he could feel the warmth of the summer sun. The bus started down a familiar road to begin his summer route.

A patch of grass has never seen what’s on the other side of the big rock, so they use their imagination to think of what could possible be there.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:46
Imaginative Grass Excerpt:
It was a brisk morning in the Animal Sanctuary on Ahway Island. The sun was shining over the pasture as the breeze made the grasses dance across the meadow. Horses grazed in the distance, their tails swaying back and forth. Ducks waddled on the shore of the pond, quacking in a chorus. At the edge of the forest, shade covered a large rock and a small patch of green grass.
This patch of grass loved watching and listening to everything that went on in the world around them. By being observant, and listening carefully, the grass learned many things.

Joe and Theresa meet Lisa at the Arcade, and Theresa learns a lesson about communication.
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 3:38
Ahway Arcade Excerpt:
In the darkening evening light, Ahway Pizzeria sat surrounded by glowing string lights. The pleasant smell of freshly-baked pizza wafted through the air. The quaint little restaurant had a cozy atmosphere that invited families to share laughter and stories over slices of the best pizza in town.
Inside the building, Flavio, the owner of the pizzeria, worked diligently at the stone oven, crafting each pizza with love. In the seating area, families and friends from Ahway Island gathered around tables adorned with red-checkered tablecloths; their laughter and conversations mingled with the sound of clinking forks and knives.

Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 8:10
Something Nice Excerpt:
Tad the toad looked up at the morning sky. Sunshine spilled over the clouds and through the trees, warming the soil. The little toad smiled knowing today would be a wonderful day. As love filled his heart Tad decided to share this feeling with the entire forest. He croaked good morning to the flowers and bounced on his way. The happy toad hopped along his favorite path, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the bright colors of the flowers. Tad stopped in the center of a patch of lavender and took a deep dragon breath, in and out, to enjoy the relaxing fragrance of the flowers.

Oliver Elephant wants to be rowdy at the pond, but Hettie Hippo is in the mood for more quiet games. What will they do?
Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 4:10
Peaceful Pond Excerpt:
In Ahway Island’s Animal Sanctuary, the bright morning sun lit up the vast grassland below. The sky was clear and blue, with only the occasional fluffy cloud lazily floating by. Oliver Elephant woke up to the sun shining on his back, warming his skin like a blanket. For a moment, Oliver considered closing his eyes again and just basking in the comforting sun rays for a bit more. But then he remembered – he, his mother, and the other elephants were going to travel to the big pond today!
Oliver enjoyed going to the pond. It was deeper and wider than the nearby pool. Oliver loved to play in the water and the mud with his friend Hettie the hippopotamus. Oliver liked to jump and splash in the pond, and he couldn’t wait to show it to all the other elephants.

Narrator: Male
Story Begins: 7:39
Sensory Delight Excerpt:
A cool breeze circled the little wheelchair, bringing delightful scents with it. Winfield awoke with a smile, wondering where the fragrance was coming from. He would find out soon. Brian released Winfield’s brake. He and Javier had finished their lunches. As they got ready to leave Javier’s mom mentioned, “Before we head back to the path, this is a sensory garden and you can touch the plants. Just be gentle.”
Brian rolled Winfield away from the table and the wheelchair turned towards the path. A gentle cascade of musical notes filled the air complimenting the song of the birds in the trees. Winfield turned his wheels toward the sound hoping to find the source of the pleasant chimes. As he waited for Brian to push the wheels, he noticed another sound. A constant trickle filled the air. Once aware of the sound, the wheelchair found it difficult to let the trickling fade into the background. However, the sound of a train whistle quickly turned everyone’s attention. The boys exchanged delighted smiles. Somewhere in the garden there was a train. Javier and Brian wanted to find that train.

Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 4:44
Imagination Exploration Excerpt:
On a cloudy morning on Ahway Island, at an old farmhouse situated near a sparkling pond, Zara the playful kitten tiptoed around inside the house with excitement bubbling inside her. Her humans were still sound asleep, but what really made her tail twitch with anticipation was the new family member who was also fast asleep! Just yesterday, Zara’s family had come back from the animal shelter with a gigantic tank and all sorts of supplies. But the most important thing they brought home was a snake! Not just any snake, but a bright and colorful orange corn snake named Carlotta.
Last night, Allie, the enthusiastic and kind-hearted little girl, had been eager to spend time with Carlotta, so Zara decided to give them their space. But now that morning had arrived and the humans were still nestled in their beds, Zara thought it would be the perfect time to introduce herself to the newest member of the family!
With a soft paw and gentle steps, Zara crept closer to Carlotta’s tank. The little kitten leapt silently onto the table on which the enclosure sat. Peering through the glass, Zara saw the snake dozing peacefully under a lamp. She couldn’t help but feel a mixture of curiosity and excitement as she watched, imagining all the adventures they would have together. Zara couldn’t wait to show Carlotta the barn and the pond!

Narrator: Female
Story Begins: 11:44
Fascinating Fish Excerpt:
Moonlight shimmered down through the water giving the reef a soft glow. Five little fish yawned and stretched their fins. The moon and stars encouraged the little fish to leave their coral beds. Curious to see the source of night-time light, Fish One gracefully swam past a sleepy Fish Two. Fish Two joined Fish One. They weaved past each other, back and forth, back and forth. As the fish swam past Fish Three, Fish Three flipped and Fish Four zipped to join the group. Finally, Fish Five twirled around all of them. The five fish giggled and smiled. They were ready to explore the night-time sea!
The five little fish swam away from their colorful coral beds. Fish One led the way through a maze of softly swaying sea plants. The five little fish peeked through the gentle leaves, curious to see who or what they would find today. A shadow floated over the five little fish and they looked up. The mysterious shape glided across the water without any flippers. Fish Two decided to get a closer look and zipped up towards the gentle shadow. Fish Two noticed the shadow had a ridge traveling along the underside of the shape, then zipped back to share the discovery with the others. “I’m not sure what it is yet. It might be a big fish. There’s a fin underneath,” Fish Two said.
