The Eagles are on the mat. They have been knocked down and humbled for 3 straight weeks. Philly is a city known for the concept of 'getting up off the mat' and fighting. It's in our DNA. This Sunday, at the Linc, we will see if the defending Super Bowl Champions can harness that and get a win over an inferior team with nothing to play for but putting good material on film for agents. Jalen Hurts has been berated, put down, and there are actually calls to bench the Super Bowl MVP. Only in Philly. The Las Vegas Raiders come in to town with their poor offense and shoddy defense, but local kid Kenny Pickett will be under center to try and get a win. We will learn a lot about this Birds team on Sunday at 1PM. The Phillies are bringing back Schwarber and Rob Thomson and attempting to finally win that World Series ring with this group. Time will tell if they also bring JT Realmuto back, as free agency pushes on. The Sixers are exciting and Maxey is a superstar, but this is not a championship caliber team. The Eagles continue to win football games no matter how it looks, akin to the McNabb teams that just got it done. The difference is, this group has a Lombardi already. At 8-2, holding tiebreakers over every legitimate NFC contender, they head to Dallas for a divisional showdown on Sunday with a Cowboys team clinging to their proverbial Playoff life. After two weeks playing tough football in the elements at Lambeau and Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles will suit up in a controlled environment at Jerry World, with their defense playing the best ball of the season, and an offense which has been battered and verbally assualted all week long, by the media, fans, and former players. The Jalen Hurts degradation persists despite him holding the highest passer rating among NFL Starting QBs on 3rd down, against the blitz, and subsequently posting the best TD/INT ratio in the NFL. Hurts does not make many mistakes that cost the team possessions and in his tenure, the team is 32-0 when they win the turnover battle in games he starts and finishes. Undefeated. The Sixers have promise and some depth, but they are not Championship contenders. The team is clearly Tyrese Maxey's team now, fresh off the heels of a 54-point performance in Milwaukee. The Eagles come off their bye week for a Week 10 marquee matchup on the NFL Schedule, as they head to historic Lambeau Field for a Monday Night Football battle with the 5-2-1 Green Bay Packers. Jalen Hurts has led the Birds to a 6-2 start on the heels of a Super Bowl ring, and there were defensive reinforcements added to fold at the trade deadline, with high-energy edge rusher Jaelen Phillips and two cornerbacks, with the standout former-Packer, Jaire Alexander, and former-Jets defender, Michael Carter II. This game is crucial in the race for the NFC's top seed. AJ Brown was not traded, as again we see the fictional delusional stories and 'sources' of the national media exposed as frauds. DeVonta Smith is on a career-best season trajectory and the march to January is in progress for the Super Bowl Champions. The Sixers are young and exciting but still inconsistent, and certainly not Finals contenders, despite the phenomenal start from Tyrese Maxey and their exciting rookie Edgecombe. The Embiid era of dominance is well in the rearview, Paul George is a disaster of an acquisition, and the team has gaping holes compared to other East contenders. Tek & Prem discuss the return of BG to the Eagles locker room and what it means for the energy around the team. We look ahead to the rematch with Jaxson Dart and the upstart Giants, this Sunday, 1PM, at the Linc. Jalen Hurts put on a show in Minnesota with a perfect passer rating, and facing the human implosion known as Carson Wentz did not hurt one bit. The red zone defense has been near the top of the NFL and is why this team stands at 5-2, despite being yet to play a complete football game in all phases. With the meat of the season coming, the stretch run into winter, November through January, the evolution of the offense will continue to take shape as we approach the return of Playoff Jalen. Heading into the bye at 6-2 is crucial. The Sixers have a new star among them named VJ Edgecombe, who broke Allen Iverson's franchise record for points scored in a debut. The backcourt is now among the NBA's top duos. A quality win to start the season in Boston should do wonders for the trajectory of this Sixers season. Tek & Prem welcome Tom Stakes onto the VetLine to talk Eagles. The Broncos come to Philly with their stout defense and young quarterback Bo Nix. The Broncos last win in Philadelphia came in 1986. At 4-0, the Birds have simply found ways to win. The offense, defense, and special teams units have contributed equally throughout their undefeated September against top-tier NFL competition. As the Super Bowl Champions head into October, the offense will continue to evolve, and the defense will see the return of Nakobe Dean to the field. The Phillies and Dodgers are set to meet in the NLDS and the first two games will take place at the raucous Citizens Bank Park. With a marquee pitching matchup of Ohtani v. Sanchez for Game One, the pressure is on this group of Phillies to phinally get it done in October after reaching the World Series in 2022, losing, and not making it back in their last two attempts. The table is set, but the bats will need to get hot if they expect to knock off the defending World Series Champion Dodgers in this best-of-five series. Tek & Prem welcome Kay Adams' Senior Producer Matt Hamilton of FanDuel TV on the VetLine to talk NFL. The Eagles stun the Rams and move to 3-0. Looking ahead at a tough matchup in Tampa Bay, the Eagles have the edge in this edition of the rivalry, as the Bucs are missing their best playmaker and Baker Mayfield nurses an arm injury. Jalen Hurts, Saquon, DeVonta and AJ are 18-0 when starting and finishing games together. Defensively, the loss of Nolan Smith is big, but there are able-bodies to step in and create a pass rush for the Birds. Vic Fangio's system is air tight thus far as the chief of the defense. Tek & Prem welcome Jon Marks on the VetLine to talk Eagles and Phillies. The Birds host the Rams this weekend at the Linc in a Divisional Round Rematch as we delve into game dynamics. With a stout defense and veteran QB bent on revenge, this matchup will be as tough a game as any on the Eagles 2025 Schedule. The Eagles head to Kansas City for a Super Bowl LIX rematch against the Chiefs in Week 2. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid were thoroughly embarrassed last February for the championship, and Mahomes has never lost 3 straight games at any point in his professional career. The Birds are coming off a division win at home against Dallas and have their star lineman Jalen Carter back for this game, after he was ejected from the Week 1 matchup in the Spit-Gate incident with Dak Prescott. Jalen Hurts played like MVP-Jalen and made all the right moves last Thursday Night in the opener, after the Eagles raised their Super Bowl LIX Banner. He will look to lead the team to a 2-0 start and keep the good vibes rolling with Head Coach Nick Sirianni leading the troops. The Phils dismantled the Mets in Philly this week, completing a four-game-sweep and ending New York's hopes of an NL East Title. With their Magic Number sitting at just 5 games, the Fightins are in firm control of the 2 seed in the National League, which would give them a bye for the Wild-Card Round. Tek & Prem discuss the upcoming Eagles season opener against Dallas next Thursday Night, and breakdown the 53-man roster. Some late changes were pulled off by Howie and the Front Office, with former Birds returning to the nest in Epps and Covey. The QB Factory also continues to churn. With the Cowboys defense losing Micah Parsons in a trade with Green Bay, it appears more likely that the Eagles soar offensively next Thursday Night, on Super Bowl banner night. Jalen Hurts continues to be slandered by losers like Cam Newton on national television. The march to repeat as Super Bowl Champions is almost underway. The Phillies bounce back from a nitemare series sweep in NY in a big way versus the Braves, pouring on a season-high 19 runs, including 4 bombs from Schwarber as he sets a new Phillies single-game franchise record with 9 RBI. It looks more and more likely that the NL MVP Award is his to lose. The biggest question heading into the final month of baseball is whether or not the Phils can win enough to secure the 2 seed, and avoid a potential Wild Card Series against the Mets. Tek & Prem welcome Bob Vetrone Jr. of Boop Stats on the VetLine to talk Birds and Phils. He also gives us some Veterans Stadium History and great memories. The Eagles start the regular season in just 3 weeks against the Cowboys at home, as the campaign to repeat as Super Bowl Champions commences. With Preseason Game #2 approaching versus Cleveland, the questions mostly surround the composition and effectiveness of the secondary. The backup QB McKee was spectacular in the first Preseason Game. Possibly the team's only true weakness, someone will either have to emerge as the "guy" in the secondary, or Howie may have to make another move to solidify it. The Phillies lead the NL East by 5 games as we enter the latter half of August. The freefalling Mets cannot stay on track and are losers of 9 of 10. Tek & Prem discuss the Phillies MLB Trade Deadline moves with the acquisitions of star closer Jhoan Duran and Outfielder Harrison Bader, welcoming radio personality and reporter Haley Taylor Simon on the Vetline to discuss the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers. By adding an elite closer, the team is considered second in line as World Series favorites, still positioned behind the Dodgers in that regard. The bats in October will be the determining factor of their success or failure, as the starting pitching is top-tier this season. With 2 months of baseball remaining, and the other contending NL teams all improving their rosters at the deadline (especially the Mets and Padres), this is as wide open a pennant race as we have seen in recent memory. A 3-game set against the 1st-Place Detroit Tigers, a familiar foe of Duran from his time in Minnesota, kicks off tonight at the Bank. The Eagles are in full swing at Training Camp and the first Preseason game against Cincinnati is remarkably only 6 days from now. With many position battles taking place on defense especially, it will be intriguing to see who emerges as the starting cornerback opposite Quinyon Mitchell and how our front seven depth shakes out. The Super Bowl Champions are back to work. Tek & Prem discuss Training Camp beginning and the are multiple storylines developing, including the secondary. Cooper DeJean is being placed all over the field as Fangio and his staff evaluate the right players across the defensive backfield positions and packages. Jalen Hurts and the team leaders are focused on what's ahead, not Super Bowl LIX. The season is less than 6 weeks away and preseason football is around the corner. A march to a repeat commences very soon. The MLB trade deadline approaches as the Phillies start a 3-game set in the Bronx against the AL Wild-Card leading Yankees. A Yankees team every bit as inconsistent as the Phils have been since June 1. Taking 2 of 3 on the heels of taking 2 of 3 from the Red Sox is key to maintaining their continual NL East leap-frog with the Mets. The Phils approach the All-Star Break with questions, while maintaining Playoff position, neck and neck with the Mets atop the NL East. Zach Wheeler will be home resting instead of wasting valuable pitches in the meaningless All-Star Game. With an elite starting rotation, trade deadline moves for the team's struggling bullpen will determine the liklihood of a return trip to the World Series. With valuable prospects and trade pieces on the present club, Dombrowski will have options this month. The mystery remaining is how he will decide to move, or not move those pieces, and what value other teams believe they actually possess in a deal. The Sixers are in the midst of the summer league and Edgecombe looks like a player. Yet again however, the success of this basketball team next season will hinge on the health and availability of their former MVP Embiid as well as star Paul George. The Sixers draft VJ Edgecombe out of Baylor University with the 3rd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. He has some great tools and a very athletic style of play and will likely slide right into the Guard rotation. The question remains however, if the Sixers can make it out of the 2nd Round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Joel Embiid and Paul George will be one year older, and the skepticism over their ability to stay healthy enough to play even 50 games total together remains. The Phillies were swept in Houston while the pitching staff allowed just 5 runs combined. Suarez, Wheeler, and Sanchez were masterful, but the offense was in hibernation. With the trade deadline looming, Tek & Prem discuss the possible scenarios with key prospects and potential trade pieces on the active roster. A weekend series in Atlanta against the Braves, who are heating up, will provide more clarity regarding the Phillies recent offensive slumber. Tek & Prem discuss the Eagles first OTAs of the offseason, with position battles looming and a fresh energy in the air. The Draft Class is strong, yet again, and the veterans are in place as the Birds prepare for a run at a repeat Super Bowl Championship. The Jalen Hurts doubters have multiplied, once again, and the Jordan-Brand representative has another year ahead of him proving them all wrong. Training Camp is around the corner. The Phillies boast the best winning percentage in the National League as they get set for a trio of games against the Brewers at the Bank this weekend. After taking 2 of 3 from the Braves at home this week, they will look to stay on track against an underachieving, .500 Milwaukee ball club. Kyle Schwarber continues his torrid pace of power, sitting tied for 2nd in MLB with 19 HR. Trea has come on strong in May, hitting .302 overall, which is good for 13th in baseball. Pitching will continue to lead the way, and with the trade deadline approaching in July, moves or a big move is expected to bolster this beleaguered and inconsistent bullpen. Tek & Prem dive into the Eagles 2025 NFL Schedule and take a look at the matchups and anomalies of it. The Birds are clearly an elite unit poised to push hard for a Super Bowl repeat, but they will have to do it through a gauntlet of a schedule this season. They play 10 games against 2024 Playoff teams and do not have one back-to-back at home. While there are no international games to travel for, thankfully, there are a slew of games on days other than Sunday and very challenging teams successively, at multiple points. So goes the nature of the NFL. Their leaders will carry them. The Phillies are back in action tonight at the Bank, coming off their first home series loss since last July. The rotation is elite and the bullpen is coming into form, but Bryce Harper is still yet to find his stroke at the dish. The supporting cast has helped lead them to a .581 win percentage thus far, 4th in the NL. The Pirates come in this weekend for 3 games, and although they are not a good team, they are a pesky squad with a knack for close contests. Tek & Prem are joined on the VetLine by Breland Moore of Fox 29 Philadelphia to recap the Eagles incoming Draft Picks and talk Phils. Another solid group of young players are set to join the roster, in what amounts to a run to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. The road is never easy while attempting that task, historically. The Birds' defense recieved a boost of young talent and the offense remains largely in tact as we head into training camp. Howie may make additional moves and we discuss those possibilities, namely, adding a veteran or star in the secondary. A trip to the White House has come and gone, and left the fanbase somewhat divided over who did and did not attend the reception. While there shouldn't be any lingering effects in the lockerroom, the extreme views each side maintains run very deep. The Phillies finish April with a winning record as the power is coming around and they cap off another series win, this time against Division-rival Washington. Tek & Prem discuss the incoming 2025 Eagles, with two likely defensive starters added in the 1st two rounds of the NFL Draft, Campbell from 'Bama and Mukuba from Texas. Both players figure to be key contributors in the coming seasons, a true Super Bowl window for the Birds. Howie and the front office made timely trades to jump around the draft order, and added a solid DT from Nebraska, Ty Robinson. With the losses of Williams, Sweat, and Gardner-Johnson in free agency, these are all logical picks, and also picks made from value spots in the Draft. Vic Fangio's system is phenomenal with the right pieces in place, and this haul reinforced the roster nicely on the defensive side of the ball. The Phillies get the split with Giants, and look ahead to a weekend set with the Marlins. There are high expectations for this club, coming off of three straight postseason appearances including one pennant. Still in the infancy stages of the 2025 season, the usual up and down performance from this group has continued to rear it's ugly head, yet they are presently neck and neck with the Mets for the NL East lead. The Phils are looking for back-to-back Division Flags. But it won't be easy. The questions in the outfield remain relevant and frequent. The revolving door of players seems to be on track to repeat itself again this offseason, regardless of the result. A major question is how the team will deploy some of their hot young prospects into the majors later in the year. The Eagles are 6 days away from the NFL Draft with a lot of capital and options, for a team that is still loaded despite the loss of some solid defenders. The Phillies are 5-1 out the gates and host the World Series Champion Dodgers this weekend for three at The Bank. A great early litmus test for this group, they are 7-3 in their last 10 against LA, including wins in 6 of their last 7 contests. Early on, the lineup is quiet against starting pitchers while raking against relief pitchers. To beat the Dodgers, the Phils will have to change that narrative. There have been contributions from the bottom of the order with Sosa and Rojas, and the new addition, Max Kepler, has began his Phillies career in solid fashion. Tek & Prem welcome Phillies Reporter for The Inquirer, Scott Lauber, on the VetLine to talk Phils. The MLB season is less than one week away, as the Fightins prepare to travel to DC to take on the Nationals for a 3-game series to start the 2025 campaign. The Phils starting pitching is still among the league's best, adding Luzardo to that mix, and the lineup may be shook up a bit as the Phils try again with this core, to win a World Series Trophy for the first time since 2008. Eagles offseason talk continues as the Draft approaches in April. Howie Roseman has a ton of Draft capital and has added some good low risk-high reward 1-year contracts to young defenders with a lot to prove. There will be some good competition in camp for key spots, but the core remains at every level of the defense with an offense still boasting the same stars. With tons of draft capital, the message from Howie to the fanbase to 'be patient' makes sense, and the front office has earned our trust coming off their Super Bowl blowout. The secondary will look very different, but Vic Fangio has studs at every level of his defense on the roster who are here to stay. Howie's approach of signing players to value deals with a low risk-high reward modus operandi has worked in the past with guys like Baun and Becton, and Eagles fans should expect the same again with the new additions. As March wraps up and the focus shifts to the draft, the Eagles flexibility and plethora of picks will be the key factor in how this offseason is viewed. The Phillies are tearing the cover off the ball this Spring and will start regular season play in less than two weeks time in DC. Tek & Prem discuss the upcoming NFL Free Agency period and the expected performance of defending Super Bowl Champion General Manager Howie Roseman. With Zach Baun locked up to a deal and 10 of 11 offensive starters under contract, the outlook is exciting for a team poised to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. Defensively there is flexibility to bring an edge rusher and a cornerback in, after the release of Darius Slay and likely departure of Josh Sweat. Next week as the period gets underway, all Philly fans' eyes will be locked upon the breaking news banner, anticipating the next Howie move that improves this team even further. The Phillies are underway in Clearwater and baseball is around the corner. Can this group transcend their previous limitations and compete with the Dodgers for the NL Crown? The pitching is capable but the question remains if the bats will be loud or quiet in October. The Philadelphia Eagles win their second Lombardi Trophy by defeating Kansas City in Super Bowl LIX, and now have Championship Game wins over Vince Lombardi himself, Bill Belichick, and Andy Reid. Jalen Hurts is the quintessential leader and with Saquon Barkley toting the rock, few defenses stand a chance at slowing them down. The Birds put a show on for the Eagles faithful in attendance down in New Orleans and around the world, as there was never a doubt who the better team was on February 9th--on a day where the Chiefs were convinced that they were about to make history.
