Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting episode of the out-front podcast listen day I am super excited that you will be joining us on today and so today we're going to. Ah, get into this profound concept of doing the work on yourself. What does it truly entail and more importantly, ah, you know what it truly entails and how can it profoundly change our lives for those who are familiar with me. You know it's no secret that I frequently emphasize the importance of putting in the work I firmly believe that true growth and self-development requires effort dedication and willingness to confront our challenges head on. You got to do the work. You know you got to do the work has become somewhat of a mantra for me echoing a sentiment that meaningful progress is an aspect of life necessities, active engagement and commitment. Keep you real the realization of where you are and where you desire to be required work that only you can do only you can do? What must be done to close that gap from where you are.
01:29.66
noblemen
To where you desire to behave, I would tell you that through my own journey and interactions with others I've come to realize that many people may not fully grasp what the work entails. Or where to begin on their path of so of this self-development. It's not enough to simply acknowledge that you know the need for change or improvement. 1 must also have the twos strategies and support system. In place to facilitate their growth so without a clear understanding of what the work looks like and how to approach it individuals may find themselves feeling overwhelmed stuck or unsure. Of how to move forward so considering this ah realization I've come I've become considering this realization I've become increasingly passionate about demystifying the concept of the work. And providing guidance and resources to support others on their journey of personal development whether it's to sharing my own experiences offering practical advice or connecting individuals were relevant to and resources.
03:02.56
noblemen
I strive to empower others to take meaningful steps towards their goals by breaking down the barriers to self-improvement and offering a road map for progress I hope to inspire. That's what I really hope to do I hope to inspire and support others in their pursuit of growth and fulfillment. So today. We certainly have a lot to unpack on this show. So, let's go so today we certainly have a lot to unpack in this episode. So, let's go.
03:42.94
noblemen
Doing the work isn't just a catchphrase. It's a profound commitment to your own evolution. It's about diving deep into the depths of your being confronting your darkest shadows. And embracing the light within. It's a courageous journey of self-reflection self-awareness and Self-love to bring about the healing that is necessary the healing that is necessary to move forward in whatever your endeavors may be. And here here's the thing no matter how old you are or the level of your attainment. There is still some level of work that remains in all of us within the circle of life. You know I've always said that healing. It is a prerequisite. However, it's often continuous and healing is a journey of progress. Not perfection I think I have to say that again healing is a journey of progress. Not Perfection. You know in the in the in the intricate in the intricate tapestry of human existence healing is a thread that weaves its way through the fabric of our lives. It's a journey marked with twist and turns right and so.
05:17.42
noblemen
Progress and setback progress and setback progress and setback. But ultimately, it's a progress guided. But ultimately, it's a prospect but ultimately. It's a process guided by resiliency and perseverance in the intricate in the intricate tapestry in the intricate tapestry of human existence healing is a thread that weaves its way through the fabric of our lives. It is a journey marked with twist and turns progress and setback progress and setback progress and setback. But ultimately it is a process guided by resilience and perseverance. Yes, healing at its core is not about achieving perfection rather it is about embracing the imperfections of our journey and finding growth amidst the challenges there will be challenges. So, the concept of healing as a process acknowledges that it is not a linear path with a clear beginning and an end instead. It is a dynamic journey that Unfolds over time.
06:49.94
noblemen
Shaped by our experience emotions and relationships just as a womb takes time to heal emotional and psychological healing require patience and nurturing. So. 1 of the fundamental aspects of healing is self-compassion. You know this is an area I really must learn on my own for myself that healing is self-compassion it involves. Extending kindness and understanding to ourselves as we navigate the ups and downs of our healing journey. You know often we are often we are our heart often. We are often. We are our hardest critics expecting profession often. We are our hardest critics expecting perfection or instant results again. As I said this is the area that I had to learn. Personally, for myself that we are often our hardest critics expecting perfection or instant results have a true healing requires us to be gentle with ourselves.
08:22.35
noblemen
Acknowledging our progress, no matter how small and accepting the setbacks accepting and accepting that setbacks are a natural part of the process. So, listen today. My brother My sister's setbacks are a natural part of the process I'll say that again and again setbacks are a natural part of the process. However, healing is not a solitary Endeavor. It is deeply intertwined with our connections to others and then whatever those supportive relationships can provide. Whatever they can when they win and whenever they can provide comfort at some time validation and a sense of belonging all of which are essential for healing to occur whether it is. Whether it's the embrace of a loved one. The empathy of a friend or the guidance of a therapist is the supportive of others can help us navigate the complexities of our healing journey.
09:54.98
noblemen
Furthermore, healing is about finding meaningful and purpose in our experience. It involves reflecting on our pain understanding its impact on our lives and using it as a catalyst. For growth and transformation. So other words adversity can be a powerful teacher offering valuable lessons about resilience, empathy and the strength of the human spirit. These are areas that oftentimes we don't deal with first we move from. We try to you know move from one stage of life to the next stage of life without dealing with all our stuff and oftentimes it will. It'll all come crashing down. When we're trying to build and move from one stage of life to the next and we can't quite figure it out because we haven't dealt with all the other stuff prior to moving on. So, embracing the process of healing also requires vulnerability it means allowing ourselves to feel deeply to It's okay to feel emotional and deeply to confront our fears and our insecurities.
11:25.20
noblemen
And to open ourselves back up to the possibilities of change. This vulnerability is not a sign of weakness. It's so me depending on where you come for our most brothers. You know its vulnerabilities is a sign. Of our weakness but the truth is vulnerability is not a sign of weakness but rather a testament to our courage and our willingness to embrace our humanity. That's true so in in in Essence. Healing is this multifaceted journey that encompasses emotional psychological and spiritual growth. It is about finding peace amidst Chaos Strength amidst, vulnerability and growth. Ah, monthst adversity is a process that Unfolds over time shaped by our willingness to embrace imper perfection to cultivate self-compassion to nurture supportive relationships. Finding meaningful finding meaning in our experience and embrace vulnerability as we navigate the twist and turns of our healing journey. Let us remember that is not about reaching some.
13:00.96
noblemen
Exclusive state of perfection but rather about embracing the beauty of our imperfect yet resilient self. It's about honoring the progress as we make and take the steps. Matter how small and we find silence in the knowledge that healing is a journey not a destination. So oftentimes. We don't deal with these sorts of things or come to facing things that we must face as we move from one stage of life to the next. We just try to keep building and keep moving but we would understand that these are areas that we must begin to uncover as we move. But 1 stage or life to the next and that's unearthing our core wounds and traumas as we try to build right? We just been taught keep building keep building. Forget about that stuff stack it away deal with it.
14:28.77
noblemen
Suck it up, but as we try to build these are foundational. You must think about this as something that's foundational. You must deal with to begin to really build the structure that you need to build is stable and sturdy enough. That's resilient enough when winds of adversity begin to blow unearthing. Core rooms and trauma is not a good thing so to truly do the work as I said you got to do the work. You got to do the work this preparing yourself to do the work this is preparing you to do the work to truly do the work. Had to first excavate all the core wounds and traumas and at some point, you must pull out all the hidden bags of triggers. The bags of shit that set you off the emotional shit and the and the. Stuff that kind of make you react in a way that you don't like to react, but you end up reacting anyway, pull it all out pull all pull it all out. You must pull it all out and sit in the discomfort of it.
15:59.79
noblemen
These are the buried treasures of our psyche hidden beneath layers of conditioning and societal expectations and Trump all that stuff take time to explore the origins of your deepest pains. Ah, wounds that still bleed beneath the surface set aside dedicated time each day for introspection journaling meditating and therapy can all be powerful tos. For excavating buried traumas and wounds as we build again. I'll keep referring to what I say at in the beginning you got to do the work. I'm always talking about I mean you got to do the work and the truth is again as I said this is very much a part of doing the work as you begin to build, and you are no longer. Attempt to move from one stage of life to the next stage of life and building without doing the work of dealing with all the underneath stuff before you begin to build.
17:29.57
noblemen
So, you got to set some time you got to set aside some time to really dedicate to dealing with this and sometimes it's reparenting the inner child I found out even I had some pretty good parents. We grew up In. And in the pretty well out middle class neighborhood I Guess I'll fall for what is worth I guess for what worth socioeconomic background or condition it was not. All that bad but in my adult life. There were some things that I discovered that I had to sort of go back and what I would call reparenting the inner child in me. There were some periods in my life where I had to go back and reparent my inner child. So reparenting is that sacred act of nurturing and healing your inner child. The innocent. Wounded aspect of yourself that yarns for love and acceptance whatever that may be. It's about becoming you know that loving parent. You may have or may not have had or offering yourself a compassion.
19:00.80
noblemen
And tenderness that you felt you deserve so create a daily self-care ritual for nourishing your inner child at times this could include affirmations visualization exercises or simply speaking to yourself. Kindness and gentleness whatever that may be. This is a part of doing the work and it leads to transforming relationships through your healing. All relationships personal business. Whatever that relationship is it all just doing this type of work all impacts in a very positive way as you transform relationships through your healing. And understand this many of us never get there So This may be a conversation that many individuals are quite not used to having you transforming through that level of healing. As we do the work on ourselves. Our relationships naturally begin to transform you know they no longer. Are you know, no longer are we bound by old patterns of co-dependencies or seeking validation from others instead.
20:32.61
noblemen
We Cultivate relationships based on Authenticity Mutual respect and unconditional. Love. So, practice self so practice setting healthy boundaries in your relationships. And communicating your needs acceptability practice setting healthy boundaries in your relationships and communicate your needs assertively and you surround yourself with individuals who honor. Your journey of healing and support your growth you see when we set healthy boundaries are simply to keep things out but rather. Boundaries are not simply to keep things out but rather to protect what's on the inside that the inside work that you must do the inside where you do must. Be protected at all costs the inside work that you do must be protected at all costs and you do that by setting boundaries and oftentimes the.
22:04.10
noblemen
Boundaries that you set is to protect. What's on the inside.
22:17.92
noblemen
Um, doing the work is not a destination. It's a life learned journey of Self-discovery and self-actualization. It's about embracing. It's about embracing the full spectrum. Who you are. The light and the shadow and integrating all aspects of ourselves with love and Acceptance. So, I say commit to ongoing self-exploration and growth seek out books and workshops. And communities that resonate with your journey of healing and transformation and remember you are worthy of the deepest love and the highest potential. So, listen, thank you all for joining me today. So, listen. Thank you all for joining me on this transformation Journey of Self-discovery Remember the power of change lies within you until next time keep doing the work and shining your light in the world.

00:01.59
Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting episode of the out-front podcast I am your host Vince Noble. So, listen I've been saying that the first half of this year we would bring to you. Topics that I truly believe will grab hold of you in a way that will continue to empower you and inspire you to take charge of your life propelling you. To the next level like rocket field in 2024 and so I don't care who you are. There should always be a next level of something in your life. Another dimension of living. I don't care what your grade age or stage is in life. There should be something that you are ambitious enough about to take your life to the next level. So, I believe that. The first six months of this year as we've been saying will be a tremendous amount of value to many of you that listen to um, you know our podcast on a weekly basis because I believe the moment you decide.
01:33.32
That living your life on one level is no longer good enough. You've already began to spark the desire to change, and I would tell you that there is often so much generational trauma to contend with. And so, our capacity to mold and transform our reality is primarily constrained by the subconscious barriers we erect within ourselves. Why is this the case I believe it for the most part. It's often because our negative outlook is rooted in experiences of trauma and abuse and so many of us have yet to fully comprehend. Articulate and transcend these painful events and so we tend to normalize our stress responses and without addressing the underlying issue. We remain stuck unable. Progress and so you must be willing to do all the inner work. First that's right in large part. It's the inside game. So today. We're going to explore.
03:05.91
Some key concepts of unleashing your manifesting power now wait a minute I understand that oftentimes when it is mentioning manifesting or. Manifesting abilities. Most people tend to back away because I believe that this concept or this thing or this theory of manifesting has been somewhat underrepresented if you will. But we're not just going to talk about it as far off, but we're not just going to talk about it as a far-off mystical idea. We're going to discuss how manifesting is a way of life and how you can take real actionable steps. To make it work for you. So, grab a pen in the pad because we're diving deep into the art of manifesting in today's show let's go so let's kick off. You know this journey by dispelling a common. Misconception of about manifesting is it. It isn't manifesting isn't some mystical concept reserve for a select few but it is a potent tool accessible.
04:36.95
Anyone willing to tap into its power and so I'm not just preaching theory here I'm speaking from lived experience manifesting is about aligning your thoughts actions and energy with your desires to bring into. Reality manifesting is about aligning your thoughts actions and energy with your desires to bring them into Reality. It's about more than wishful thinking. It's about deliberate intention and unwavering belief. And your ability to shape your reality and so the cornerstone of manifesting lies in a fundamental mindset Shift. You must be willing to do a mindset Shift. You must move from a fixed Fix. You must Move. Ah, you must move away from a fixed mindset which limits your potential and embrace a growth Mindset. You see a growth mindset. Thrives on continuous learning resilience and the belief that your abilities can be developed through dedication and effort this shift in Mindset sets the stage for manifesting success.
06:12.63
And so, the first requirement I believe and entering this area of manifesting in your life number one is self-awareness see Self-awareness is the bedrock upon which. Manifesting stance its stands on your self-awareness of who you are. It's understanding your strengths your weaknesses and aspirations. That's that crucial and so. Take time to you know I would say take time I would say take the time to really clarify first and foremost your goals write them down number one write them down. Be concise and be specific and then chart a course towards their attainment. Yes, take the time to clarify your goals write them down. Be concise and specific and chart a course towards their attainment. You see this self-awareness provides the foundation it provides.
07:42.58
It provides the foundation manifesting. It provides the foundation of your manifesting journey guiding. It provides the foundation of your manifesting journey guiding you towards a life aligned with you. Deepest desires. So, take the time to reflect on what you write start today write it down. What are your desires and then over the course of the next few days take time to really begin. To reflect every one of us should take time throughout the course of our day to reflect doesn't matter who you are it doesn't matter how accomplished you may think you are we should all. Spending a certain portion of our day reflecting. So, I encourage you take the time to reflect on what you write. Become intimately as 1 mind body and soul with what it is you write, and you desire, and you manifest that's the foundation of your manifesting journey and so have the.
09:14.13
Courage to dream big take the breaks off when you're when you're writing down your desires and you reflecting on no desires take the breaks off. Don't hold back dream big. You see have you ever followed someone uphill with their brakes on you following you're driving along and you following someone uphill with their brakes on and it's apparently nothing visibly in front of them, yet they are driving uphill. With their breaks on. So, I tell you today take the brakes off dream big and set your sights on the life you envision for yourself. You see the question is. What do you see yourself? What do you see for yourself. You must dare to believe, and you own it when you dare enough to believe it then you own it you see manifesting is about. Tapping into the boundless power of your imagination and daring to dream beyond the confines of your current reality I have to say that again you see manifesting.
10:45.21
Is about tapping into the boundless power of your imagination and daring and daring to dream beyond the confines of your current reality beyond what you're seeing. Beyond any negativity you may be encountering beyond the often-negative self-take beyond any of that you have to dare to go beyond that so take the breaks off. And again, write down your goals craft a vivid vision of success. What does that? What does it look like you're you know what it looks like step by step by step be very specific and when you do that. It's. It will ignite the flames of ambition within you. You see some of us we have been so conditioned with the world. We have allowed our ambitions to be very low. We're living a life with very low ambition. So, I'll say to you today ignite reignite the flames of ambition within you and remember no dream is too grand when Feud with when Feud remember.
12:18.85
No Dream is too grand when fueled by unwavering determination and a clear road map to guide your steps. It is crucial to move past the restrictive Beliefs The pessimistic. Viewpoints and critical inner Dialogue oftentimes. It's our own critical inner dialogue that's holding us back that often plague our thought life our tendencies to. Dwell on with past negative experiences and people can significantly hinder our progress towards our objectives see these mental barriers can distort our perceptions. Of our abilities and potential leading us to underestimate what we are truly capable of Achieving. So, I say to you my friend to unlock our full Potential. We must actively. Challenge and reframe the limiting narratives. We hold about ourselves by recognizing that These beliefs are not inherent truths but rather subjective interpretations.
13:50.80
Of past events we can begin to question and modify our thought patterns shifting our focus from what has gone wrong to what we can do right? and so now. To create a positive change is essential for personal growth and accomplishment I can't believe you how many times I share this with people across this nation with people across the world and they say Vance I never. And never heard this before I never had anyone spend time with me making this clear to me. It's been me. It's been me allowing my negative. Experiences to get in a way to cloud my perceptions about what I'm truly capable of doing. It's been me. You see self-awareness plays a pivotal role in overcoming the self-imposed constraints of our mindsets by cultivating a deeper understanding of where our negative.
15:23.82
Beliefs originate in how they affect our behavior. We can start to dismantle them. Yes, we can begin to dismantle them replacing self- doubt with self-compassion and negative Self-ta. With affirmations that emphasize our strength and resilience can lay the groundwork for a more optimistic and proactive approach to our life see no one would argue with me today. This is needed or this conversation is needed by so many I don't care where you are you must be able to get to a point where you understand this. And so, another key aspect of transcending these mental hurdles is embracing as I previously said a growth mindset. This this perspective encourages us to view challenges as opportunities to learn and grow rather than in or an insurmountable rather than insurmountable.
16:52.57
Another key aspect of transcending these mental hurdles is embracing as I previously said a growth mindset this perspective encourages us to view challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Rather than insurmountable obstacles. It teaches us to appreciate the journey of self-improvement. To persist in the face of setbacks and to see failure. Not as a reflection of our worth., But as a natural step in the learning process. Ultimately. Changing the way, we think about ourselves, and our experiences is an ongoing process that requires patience and persistence involves consistently practicing Mindfulness. Challenge Our negative thoughts and seeking out experienced mentors along the way. Yes, and so empowering these new.
18:22.80
Beliefs We can do this by doing so you see it involves consistently practicing Mindfulness Channel It involves consistently practicing. Mindfulness challenging our negative thoughts and seeking out experience that reinforce our new empowering beliefs by doing so we can break free from the patterns that keep us. From achieving our goals and create a life that reflects our chew capabilities and desires. Yes, and so make no mistake about it Manifesting is. Make no mistake about it Manifesting isn't a passive endeavor it demands unwavering commitment and consistent Action. You see the Universe rewards. Those who take deliberate steps towards they goes did you know that I believe in all my heart that the universe reward those who take deliberate steps who overcome who remain resilient who.
19:57.26
Who defeat all the negative self-talk the universe rewards those who take deliberate steps towards their goals. They stay focused take consistent action. And embrace the journey with unyielding determination. There are no shortcuts on the path. There are no shortcuts on the path to manifesting success but with patience and dedication. You can turn your dreams into tangible. Realities yes, challenges are challenges and setbacks are inevitable. It's going to happen so on this road to manifesting success. However, I tell you it is crucial to adopt. A mindset that views obstacles as opportunities for growth. So, embrace it embrace a no excuse attitude today embrace a no excuse attitude today embrace. a no excuse attitude today. embrace a no excuse attitude today it boils down to how bad do you want it? are you willing to let it go.
21:31.31
When it doesn't look like it's going to work out or you would' to let it go when it looks like it's not going to happen what type of excuses. Do you have or will you embrace a no excuse attitude when it doesn't look good. That every setback propels you forward rather than hold you back and again seek out mentors and supportive communities to guide you through challenges and bolster your resilience on the path to manifesting. Greatness, see I want a link up for you I know that someone listened to this podcast today saying I've been trying to link up with someone I've been linking up with people before and when it gets bad for me. I would say beyond the spring if you had a hard time focusing and staying motivated in a way. Um, you know this 2024 New Year knew you. Motivational stuff probably won't even work for you. You won't be able to sustain that that's a fact so the first thing I would say to you know this year whatever you should be or thinking about focus on or whatever you set. At the beginning of year that you want to accomplish just stop talking about it. Don't even say what you're going to do just get in a mode just get in the mode of just doing it just doing the thing that you know you should be doing start out doing that. And then you prove it not only to everyone else you prove it to yourself. You prove that you are willing to get there by doing the necessary work. That's right? No, no sugar coating here. Folks. You know there's a there's a bit of shift here on the out front for the rest of the year actually - that there will be a little bit of a shift here. So, get ready for some raw uncut truth. That's right, get ready for some raw.
03:00.88
noblemen
Uncut Truth we have a lot to unpack in this episode. So, let's go what's up. Our front nation. Can you handle me being as I said in the beginning can you handle me being. A little rough around the edges today can we get real today. No matter who you are life throw distractions at us left and right but if you're serious about crushing your goals. This year you've got to be ruthless in your focus. So today I'm hitting you with 5 harsh no-nonsense steps to keep your eyes on the prize to help you follow 1 course until success. That's right, follow 1 course until successful as focus. So, you know when I think about being focused, I am often when I think about focus, I think about being. Hyper focus and you know that hyper focus is a term often used to describe an intense state or concentration of focus on a particular task or subject for an extended period.
04:34.72
noblemen
When someone is experiencing hyperfocus they are able to block out distractions and become deeply absorbed in what they are doing often to the exclusion of other tasks. Delma or even the most important people that's right, that's right other people you see this state of heightened attention can lead to increased productivity. And the ability to accomplish a great deal within a relatively short period of time so number one I would say to you slash and burn those to do list that you did at the beginning of the year just slash and burn them because we are getting ready. early this year for some spring cleanup. We're doing some serious spring cleanup on that to do list to start with no more fluff. No more time-wasting tasks. So just slash and burn. Everything. That doesn't contribute directly to the goals in which you said you wanted to accomplish this year if it's not pushing you forward. It's holding you back. So, it's time to be brutally honest about.
06:03.50
noblemen
Where your time is going where are you allocating your time. What are you still wasting your time On. Let's be honest and you start being honest with yourself. What are you still allocating your time to that doesn't. Support your goals because again, if it's if it's not pushing you forward. It's holding you Back. So, I need you to seriously think about. The things you're still wasting your time on that that the things that that that you're still giving your attention to so you're still wasting your time on that thing that don't even support your goals are they habits. But what activities are you doing or are the man-made intentional distractions that consistently pull your way from what you truly want to achieve you see my friend most distractions. Are intentional. They serve an intended purpose. They are very intentional to pull your way. So why aren't you more intentional. Why aren't you more intentional with the thing that you want to accomplish in your own life. You see. It's crucial.
07:32.76
noblemen
For you to identify time wasting elements and take proactive steps to minimize or eliminate them from your life whether it's excessive social media just scrolling around on the internet YouTube procrastination. Or engaging in unproductive conversations with other folks that doesn't really amount to anything come on God we got to be honest with ourselves this year so recognizing these time sinks is the first step towards regaining control. Over your focus and your energy are you willing to do that because if you're not willing to do that. You're not taking the necessary first steps towards regaining control over your focus and your energy by consciously. Reallocating your time and attention to activities that align with your goals see. It's about alignment most of the time we're just out of alignment and we don't even have a clue so by consciously now reallocating your time. And attention to activities that align with your goals. There has to align with your goals until you do that you can't pave the way for greater productivity and progress.
09:09.63
noblemen
Ah, fact, remember your time is valuable and oftentimes you have to train other people in a way How to value your time. Your time is valuable so we should use it wisely to support our aspirations in a way and our ambitions. You know that's not that's not being selfish, but you don't. Waste anyone's time and you won't allow your time to be wasted with things that really don't amount to anything and those things that take you further and further and further away to that which you said you want to Accomplish. You see your time is one of those commodities. You'll never get back once. It's Gone. You never get it back number 2 It's time to go on a distraction diet. That's what I call a distraction Diet. So. You know we're surrounded by a world designed to grab our attention and to keep our attention if it can so again like I said social media and you know these individuals they refer to them say of as.
10:38.80
noblemen
Social media influencers. What are you influencing? What? What do you line it up with to influence you to do? What is it is it consistent with what you're trying to accomplish or is it just in it. A distraction. So. So you know this around the clock smartphone notifications and beeps and bells, and all these things are going in the middle of night. There are distractions that that chatty co-worker who's into everything. And they want to share it with you. That's a distraction that's the distraction and the truth is you made yourself available and other people know. That you always make yourself Available. You made yourself available and it's time to put other folks on notice that you're on a distraction Diet. So, limit your stream time turn it off. You know. No none of those non-essential notifications turn it off and then you start with setting clear boundaries with yourself. It starts setting those boundaries with yourself and then you set clear boundaries.
12:07.41
noblemen
But all those other energy vipers in your life. That's right, they are energy vipers. You know some, you've been trying to figure out it will at the end of the day you feel so depleted. Well, the fact out is because of those distractions. Statues will deplete you they will deplete your energy and you don't have enough energy to focus on the things that you really want to focus on energy vipers in your life. You can't afford distractions any longer. That's a fact you can't afford distractions any longer because time is running out time is running out and these energy vipers are steal in your dreams. They are still in your dreams right in front of your eyes. You can't even figure it out. But guess what today the day is you figured it out. The energy vipers are still in your dreams right in front of your eyes. Number 3 it calls for a brutal self-audit that you got to be willing do a brutal self-audit. You know it's time for a brutal self-audit.
13:40.78
noblemen
Look at yourself in the mirror I've been through it look at yourself in the mirror and ask the tough questions are you really putting in the work. Are you just pretending. Are you a real contender or are you a pretender for your dreams. Are you making excuses or are you making progress. Be honest with yourself. You got to be honest with yourself and this year if you've never done it before it starts this year look in the mirror and ask yourself. Are you a real contender or a pretender for your dreams. It starts with you because until you do that. You start making all sorts of excuses because certain things are not happening the way they are not happening. You see you can either. You can either have excuses or you can have results, but you don't keep you don't get to keep both. You can either have excuses or you can have results, but you don't get to keep both. Are you a real contender or pretender of your dreams are you making excuses.
15:08.24
noblemen
Are you making real progress. It's time to cut through the self-deception you a deceiver of yourself and today is time to cut through the self-deception. No more lies. No more games. It's your future on the line. We can have all the excuses in the world. But your future is on the line. And when you act like your life is on the line, I can't tell you how many times I've been there when you act like your life is on the line an unparalleled sense of determination takes over. Ah, can't tell you how many times I've been there suddenly every obstacle every distraction and every excuse fades into insignificance and you start to say to yourself. This Bs right here this bull crap where here that you're talking about is meaningless I got more important things to spend my time with.
16:39.20
noblemen
Your goals become non-negotiable and it's not just in your words. It's in your action and everyone around you start to pick up on it that you no longer make yourself available. That people no longer can use you as a dumping ground with their distractions your actions not just your words and nothing can stand in the way of your relentless pursuit of them. Each moment is infused with. A sense of urgency propelling you to take bold decisive actions towards your goal you operate different, and everyone begins to know it. Yeah, something different something different is happening. And it and they don't just start paying attention to what you say they start paying attention to how you move in how you nab you move in different this year you operate with unwavering focus channeling all your energy into the realization. Your aspirations. Everybody starts to see that as you embrace this mindset you become unstoppable forging ahead. An unparalleled drive and conviction.
18:08.15
noblemen
Towards your goals. That's it that is it and you don't get there with the excuses and you don't get there. By making yourself available to those energy vipers’ number 4 it's to commit. You must do the work. You got to commit to doing the work. You must be committed to. To form in new habits. That's realigning you to your goals your dreams and your ambitions you got to form new patterns of thinking new habits and you don't you get there by putting in the reps. You get there by doing the lapse you get there by getting me in early hitting the gym that's in the physical and mentally mental perspective right? that that's getting the cardio in folks achieving your goals. It's a marathon. Not a sprint you won't get you won't get there overnight but it's a marathon one step at a time one block at a time one mile at a time It's not a sprint you got to.
19:36.50
noblemen
Build that commitment muscle and the truth of it is the truth of it is you got to build that commitment muscle and it is a muscle most of you Never really had let's be honest.
19:57.21
noblemen
Consistency is your secret weapon. Let's be consistent. Some Dave you're not going to feel like it. You're not going to want to do it, but you do it anyway, you do it anyway. That's why we call it discipline and you never get to anything consistent with consistency without any discipline. But that's the part of the process. No more starting and stopping starting and stopping. You know there's some folks I know without any judgment I love them the same but they always starting and stopping starting and stopping. Whole life. There's a pattern of starting and stopping starting and stop getting a little bit tough a stop starting and stopping they always into something new yet never completing anything. No more starting and stopping. Lace up those commitment sneakers. They lace up those commitment sneakers not Nikes lace up those commitment sneakers and get ready to run get ready to run those marathons 1 step 1 block one mile at a time. That's how you get there.
21:23.98
noblemen
And then there may be some extra training miles in there. But guess what the blessing is always in the extra mouth. So, success favors persistence. Success favors persistence you got to be persistent because success will always favor the persistent not the quitters. Number five, last but not least it's time to make some hard choices I've been there, and the truth be told I'm still making the source of heart. Prioritization choices to this day but it's time to make some painful prioritization. Sometimes that's ah, that's a hard choice but you must decide. What's more important your dreams or the temporary comfort of procrastination your dreams or the history you have with the same few people when you really pay attention. They have been the energy vipers in your life.
22:53.24
noblemen
What's more important your dreams or the energy of vipers that you've been allocating all of your time to.
23:11.56
noblemen
That's contributing to the reason why you are that's contributing to where you are today or part of that you see if it doesn't align with your goals. It's a destruction cut it loose even if it hurts even if you have an history with someone. It doesn't mean you don't you don't love you loved them many differently that means is that for this period. We may not be spending as much time with one another cut it lose even if it hurts but you've got to be willing to make sacrifices for your life if you want it, you got to be willing to make sacrifices for your life. If you want it see some of you've been making the energy vipers a priority in your life. Can I tell you this. Unless something changes some of you got to realize that you are sleeping right next to an energy viper.
24:36.26
noblemen
I Know that's a hard one. But as I said before what's more important choice is yours so there you have it out front some harsh. Unapologetic steps to keep your focus sharp and your commitment unbreakable because life is too short for halfhearted efforts if you want it then you got to go get it thanks for hanging out with me. You know and it's been great. Thanks for hanging out with me on this episode at out front until next time stay focused stay committed and stay unfiltered out front!

01:32.60noblemenBiblical futurism her initial offering of the god maps volume 1 is the first in the trilogy series and this episode will be talking about her inspiration for her latest published book the god maps. Her vision and mission to assist women in technology and so much more. We certainly have a lot to unpack in this episode. So let's go Yvette welcome to the show today.
02:02.43Yvette KendallHello and it's nice to be here.
02:05.45noblemenWonderful. Wonderful. Is certainly a pleasure to to have you on the show with us today I know we had been really tried to sink up with you and our busy scares you to get you on the show but nonetheless hey you here and welcome to the show today.
02:16.80Yvette KendallUm, yeah.
02:19.67Yvette KendallThank you so much and again I'm happy to be here.
02:23.11noblemenSo that for those who may not know you please tell us a little bit about yourself.
02:28.72Yvette KendallWell like you just mentioned I am from excuse me I am from the south side of Chicago wanting raised and I used to be a product developer I used to file patents to create things and.
02:35.37noblemenOkay.
02:47.38Yvette KendallFoul patents and I really noticed that it wasn't a lot of black women in technology so they kind of started me on the path that I'm on today and after I decided to walk away from technology a little bit I wound up getting this story ah in my head and. I thought it was great and I started to share with other people and I say hey you need to you need to write that ah never written a thing in my life and I was terrified to write the story down and write a book I had no knowledge of how to do any of that. But god kept giving me the story parts of it every day.
03:10.10noblemenOh.
03:27.16Yvette KendallAnd it felt like it was meant for me to do and I just I just did it with the lack of my knowledge of what to do once. The story was completed I just did it and you know, kind of here we are today.
03:40.60noblemenThat's that's certainly wonderful one. So being that you say you from the south side of Chicago you know hey we have a little bit in common a born and born and raised on the South Side Chicago myself as well. So so.
03:54.96Yvette KendallOh ah, yes yes.
03:55.24noblemenAh, and another Chicago one. Yes, so I I attended um, Curie metropolitan high school I'll know if you're familiar with that.
04:03.32Yvette KendallI am familiar with Curie I my first year of high school I went to Kenwood. So oh yeah, but.
04:07.91noblemenOkay, yeah, okay, so listed you know I respectfully say you know so that there are some exotic ways of of spelling name there on the shelf size Chicago so you your your. Proper pronunciation of your name is e that correct Eva yes, ok, certainly all right? So so y that um what what inspired you you know to to author books and more specifically sci-fi you know there's.
04:24.81Yvette KendallIt is Yvette. Yes,
04:40.16noblemenThat's not a great deal of African American women in that particular space.
04:44.71Yvette KendallYeah, well, you know what? Ah like I was just saying growing up in um, growing up in high park. Um, my mother was a psychiatric nurse. And I would get out of school at three o'clock and her hospital was right across the street from my school so I used to go to her job after I got off. Ah after I got out of school and she didn't get off of work till about think four thirty or 5 and I would have to spend the day on the psychiatric floor.
05:12.89noblemenAh.
05:17.29Yvette KendallAh, and just kind of do art and things like that until she got off of work and at some point I got tired of doing that so she was dating a man that worked at a bookstore and at the University Of Chicago and she said hey if you don't want to come over here. Go you know, walk over there and you know hang out with him in the bookstore. So ah, this one particular day I was walking to the University Of Chicago's bookstore and I got to the the University Of Chicago and they had a courtyard and he had these huge medieval doors that opened up to this beautiful courtyard.
05:37.37noblemenO.
05:54.91Yvette KendallAnd I just wandered in and when I wandered in I went through the halls and I got to a classroom that was empty. Of course it was after school and um, it was a man there ah wearing a white lab coat and he was um. Doing something in this classroom. So I kind of dipped my head in he saw me and I kind of dip back Out. He says no no come on in and I walked in he said let me show you something and he put ah he blew up a balloon and he put it in a container with dry ice and. I Saw this balloon collapse right in front of my eyes and then he pulled it back out and it reinflated I was Hooked. It was like is nothing else better than whatever it was. He showed me. It was just it was science.
06:33.18noblemenA.
06:46.34noblemenAlright.
06:49.11Yvette KendallI Grew up ah with my father watching Star Trek So it was just like always around me one way or another so when I got older. Of course you know taking science in high school and doing ah you know all these little functions where it was science involved.
06:51.34noblemenI.
07:08.18Yvette KendallSo after I got older and I got into doing um patents and and products and things like that which is of course very science adjacent I got the story and like I said it really sci-fi is the flip Side. Of Science is just it's the same coin just a different side. So Um I Just you know decided to go into the to the literary aspect of it and start writing and I started writing in 2018 and like um.
07:27.65noblemenRay.
07:41.79noblemenIn me.
07:46.11Yvette KendallThe middle of 2018 so january two thousand and nineteen I was done with the book. It took me six months to write it and got it published and a year after it was published I was contacted on linkedin and. By the executive producer of lovecraft country. Ah and he offered me a tv series for the got maps. So yeah, so from there I just kept writing so I have a love for sci-fi I have a love for horror and I just.
08:04.27noblemenOh.
08:12.25noblemenThat's awesome.
08:20.29Yvette KendallI just kept writing and then I started writing children's books and I I just kept writing so here we are today? Um I just finished writing my first full feature um horror movie called north.
08:36.45noblemenUm.
08:37.94Yvette KendallAnd I've been in talks all week about getting that you know done with a major studio so we can you know go into production. So yeah.
08:44.18noblemenRight? That's Wonderful. So So along with that. Would you say your your discovery of that did you did you always have this ambition but but never kind of you know, pulled the trigger on writing. Was was it always your ambition to become a publish author.
09:04.43Yvette KendallNo I didn't even know that I I didn't know what I didn't know I when I grew up I was really good with I used to win spelling contests and I used to win poetry contests because I loved Langston Hughes
09:09.24noblemenRight? right.
09:20.68noblemenI.
09:22.81Yvette KendallAnd always want to write like Langston Hughes and I would win all these little writing contests. But I thought it was just something you did when you were in school you just I didn't I didn't think it was an aspiration someone like myself could have. Ah, so you're talking to someone you know I have a high school Diploma I've never been to college a day in my life. So when you start saying things when you start saying things like become an author or become a writer and when you do not have that education. You just don't think that's something that's optional.
09:40.90noblemenUm.
09:43.43noblemenM.
09:59.40Yvette KendallFor you.
09:59.69noblemenRight? right? right? So So what would you say sort of been sort of your superpower that you would share with us in terms of your secret sauce if you will you know everyone have this creative space. Um, if you will that that. Those success Hacks that that keeps you focused on the challenging times of creating and writing.
10:23.66Yvette KendallAh, success hack. Ah, you know what I just write down everything I think a lot of people may go Oh well that may sound stupid or oh I don't have time to complete something your your best friend is you writing down incrementally. So if you.
10:38.62noblemenNo.
10:40.96Yvette KendallUm, up even with a paragraph you know put it in the notes in your phone and if you do this often at the end of the week you'll have you know several pages that you can write down and kind of you know, start sewing those tissues together.
10:53.81noblemenPiece together. Yes.
10:58.98Yvette KendallWhen you are you know, doing your meaningful meaningful writing. So I think a lot of people are just so afraid and apprehensive just to get started. So the first thing is you just start writing.
11:07.59noblemenRight? right? right? Absolutely absolutely So before we you know, really get you know too much into the book. Talk talk to us about you know your inspiration for creating this female Black. Um. Inventors Rock space. You've created.
11:25.70Yvette KendallUm, yeah, well I actually just I touched on it like when I first started doing ah product development and filing patents I Just people would not believe that what I created.
11:28.44noblemenM.
11:35.75noblemenAh, her. But.
11:42.40Yvette KendallWas my and one of the reasons was were you a black girl from the south side of Chicago how do you know about you know chemicals and engineering and electrical this or statistical that they just.
11:51.82noblemenAlright.
11:58.43Yvette KendallThey just assume because I was African-American and female that I would not be able to have this type of knowledge. So I ran into it not only on the side of African Americans But when I started going you know getting East doors with these big companies that were.
12:09.67noblemenM.
12:17.86Yvette KendallWhite ran they were you know they had the same questions. How did you do this and how did you figure this out we we couldn't figure this out. How did you figure it out So I would I was a little confused like is this because I'm female and I'm black that.
12:23.21noblemenUm, ride.
12:36.34Yvette KendallThis should not be open to me so I that was that was one of the catalysts and the other thing was every time I went to find someone to work with me in moving my innovations along they were They were not female.
12:36.61noblemenOn.
12:54.80noblemenRight.
12:55.40Yvette KendallOr they were not black so it kind of made me feel like this is an industry that is untapped to female black ah innovators. So that's where Fbi rocks came from.
13:08.34noblemenRight? You kind of alluded a little bit to that. But in terms of you know, scaling this sort of business or or funding many of your initiatives. What what have you found most difficult in this space.
13:24.33Yvette KendallAh, funding is definite funding is well. You know what it goes back to belief. Oh if black people don't believe you'll be successful. Well though, that's your grassroots If you're black.
13:28.80noblemenNo.
13:33.81noblemenRight? m.
13:40.60Yvette KendallYour grassroots are generally going to be the people that live around you and look like you. So if they don't believe you you can't get what you need in order to take this product and bring it to fruition. So that's 1 thing and then when you.
13:52.37noblemenM.
13:58.92Yvette KendallAre talking people that are not ah you know of other persuasions is filled with the I don't if I give you money How do I know that you're going to handle it properly. How do I know that there's going to be a return. So then you have resistance.
14:01.65noblemenNo.
14:16.17Yvette KendallOn their end because of their fear so you have a lack of belief and then you have fear which means things are stagnant unless you have your own you know your own money to push your part forward.
14:16.89noblemenRight.
14:28.88noblemenRight? right? right? right? So on your own capital so that kind of leads me to saying So so what insights would you say? um, you know that you would share with with those seeking to start a business venture without heavy outside investors.
14:45.60Yvette KendallYou know you have to get around ah like minded people and you have to get around people that believe in your cause and believe it believe in it to the point that they take it personal. You know so because other than that it's just you pushing this bolder uphill and even.
14:46.48noblemenM.
14:55.17noblemenAll right.
15:02.35noblemenUm.
15:02.64Yvette KendallGet it uphill once you get to that Plateau You realize there are several more Hills you need to climb. So if you don't have a team if you don't have people that believe in you and are like minded and want to work with you and see you successful.
15:07.66noblemenRight? absolutely.
15:19.30Yvette KendallIs's just Iss really a hard go at it and that was really one of the one of the reasons why I left during innovation one was it was so hard to find a capital and I had used up all of my own personal funds to drive. You know these ideas. But then the other thing is the lack of protection from the Us patent office especially with with companies that want to you know to take your patent that have the money to do so there's just a lack of protection. Ah.
15:39.20noblemenM.
15:52.20Yvette KendallVia the government with patents so it was just something you darned if you do you darned if you don't kind of think.
15:57.51noblemenRight? right? right? So that I have to ask you know coming out of this I would say post Pandemic lockdown at least um the effects of the lockdown and social distancing and all of that you know how are you doing and more specifically. You know you know how are you you know dealing with it now in your business marketing your books or just in your personal life.
16:21.24Yvette KendallThis pandemic borrowing that people have died and have suffered was the best thing that could have ever happened to me I am I'm an Introvert so I was I was already not. Going outside and hanging out with people so it's like my life didn't change in that aspect. But what did change there. There started to be excess funding made available. So I could sow into and grow my business.
16:38.78noblemenYou don't know.
16:53.19noblemenNo.
16:55.90Yvette KendallAnd because I own a publishing company. Ah and it can be in a virtual space. You can reach around the world and not having leave you know, leave your your computer.
16:57.78noblemenI.
17:10.60noblemenA.
17:12.77Yvette KendallMy business actually grew in that aspect and then you have all this downtime where people that always wanted to write something or they were writing something they weren't complete. Um they had time to finish and say hey you know can I publish with you or can you teach me.
17:22.56noblemenOh.
17:31.16Yvette KendallThis or that so there were a lot of opportunities because people were settled people were kind of stuck with themselves and they had to figure out how to move to the next thing without going outside and without being around a group of people. So um, it did like say it it accentuated.
17:34.96noblemenRight.
17:44.24noblemenMore.
17:50.86Yvette KendallMy situation ah very much. So.
17:54.23noblemenWow, That's good so that you know let's get into the book a little bit more so to tell us about you know what was your inspiration for writing a book. The the God maps.
18:06.19Yvette KendallYou know it's funny because there were literally I said to myself I do not want to do product development anymore I don't want to file not another patent I don't want to do anything with the patent office and I said I'm just gonna not do it anymore. And when I said that it was almost like like God was waiting on me to say Okay, you sure you're done okay got nothing else for you. So I was walking through my living room and his story fell in my head and I'll say well this is this is cool.
18:33.64noblemenYeah, or I right.
18:44.48Yvette KendallAnd I've never heard of this concept before and I just ah sat down and started writing and I wrote the first 12 pages and that's when I started to share it with some close friends and family and they was like we think you have something here. You just need to you need to finish it and that's.
18:58.62noblemenRight.
19:01.89Yvette KendallKind of what happened so it really was not ah it. It was a flash of inspiration. Ah, but it wasn't generated by me seeing something or hearing something or seeing a picture. It was really it got speaks to me through innovation.
19:18.90noblemenRight? So so having said that in writing this book and in other books you've written what what would you say is your single greatest mistake in writing ah publishing or even marketing your books.
19:19.12Yvette KendallAnd this is him having a conversation with me.
19:36.30noblemenAnd what did it teach you.
19:38.40Yvette KendallOh my gosh. What was my biggest mistake in my biggest mistake in writing is sharing my writings with other people. Ah because other people.
19:54.52Yvette KendallLike to see themselves in other's works and you get a lot of what you should do what you need to do and I always tell people if you feel so strongly strongly about something then you should write your own book.
19:59.61noblemenUm.
20:01.94noblemenRight? right? right.
20:09.21noblemenM.
20:11.62Yvette KendallShould never alter. Now you people giving you advice on. Oh you, you know this may be helpful is 1 thing versus people saying hey I I want you just to do this. So my my biggest thing is. Sharing the information and having to tell these people I'm not gonna listen to and a word that you say so and it still is still something I struggle with because you get excited when you know you've done something great and you want to share it but but people being what they are um.
20:35.44noblemenMm.
20:47.97Yvette KendallKind of can ruin it or even take you down a path that you're not supposed to go if you if you listen to everything people say so um, but as far as publishing. Um my biggest problem and I think is a.
20:54.56noblemenAlright.
21:06.58Yvette KendallThink is a global problem finding the right people to do the job and and be people of their word and you know once they're paid for a position they do that position you you you bump into a lot of people that. Just want to you know they just want to get paid but they don't want to do the work So find people that are they have a track record that are credible and disclosure is everything don't just people understand what you mean don't assume that they understand what you're talking about.
21:28.94noblemenAh.
21:35.47noblemenRight.
21:42.16Yvette KendallYou know, talk to people or explain things like people to people like it's the first time they've heard it and that way you can get a better understanding and contracts good contracts make good situations I can't say that don't do a handshake. Don't do a verbal.
21:50.10noblemenOh.
22:00.54Yvette KendallEverything has to be spelled out and the one don't put in your contract that not that's not spelled out I'll be darned if that's not the 1 thing they go do um.
22:02.85noblemenMarai.
22:10.16noblemenYou're right here I right right? So so what would you say you know sort of looking back. Um, what? what was what was the single attribute growing up in your past that you think sort of.
22:14.90Yvette KendallUm, yeah.
22:27.77noblemenYou know, prepared you in a way to become this offer that you are today and business owner.
22:35.54Yvette KendallAh I guess struggle I left home early I didn't have a close relationship with my ah my parents I mean you know we didn't talk very much and I was really.
22:50.40Yvette KendallGo and figure it out for yourself and I think it prepared me for dealing with people. It prepared me for being let down it prepared me for having to um you know, rotate swiftly when things are going left.
22:51.30noblemenM.
23:09.22Yvette KendallI think being independent and being independent early gave a a um ah a thickness to my skin that I probably wouldn't not have had had I had parents that were really involved and helped me along with everything it just I was really.
23:11.29noblemenOh.
23:28.00Yvette KendallAnd I say that having a 21 year old daughter that I did help her along and I did make sure she was protected and things like that. So I see the difference in her at 21 and me at 21 is is a you know a definite ah contrast. So. That's 1 thing that I'll say it just like you know coming from the south side of Chicago and having to take the the bus at you know, Eight nine years old by yourself or get on the l you know you learn a lot about people really quickly like way away from things and recognize things where um.
23:50.74noblemenE.
23:59.53noblemenRight? right.
24:07.82Yvette KendallSo when you get older, you go like you know I've seen that before so just kind of yeah I would say that.
24:11.22noblemenRight? That's awesome. You know so you that you know I always say you know on this show that a huge part of this show. You know is about positive when Mindsets about being resilient and demonstrated mental toughness and learning to face adversity to all. Wow.
24:23.87Yvette KendallUm, disease.
24:30.84noblemenContinuing to lead and live and win and help others fulfill their dreams and so you truly bring you know we we truly bring guests on this show that that embodies what that is all about and you my friends certainly embody what this show is all about.
24:33.15Yvette KendallUm, yeah, yeah.
24:49.50Yvette KendallUm, ah thank you so much.
24:50.66noblemenAbsolutely so you bad listen you know this is the part of the segment that we call a hot seat. Um, where we he a few random hot topics about yourself and that we found helpful to our artists that often want to know from our ah from our guest. So you know my first question would be to you.
24:54.21Yvette KendallUm, oh.
25:08.47noblemenIf you could turn back to time and talk to that 18 year old self. What would you say to her.
25:13.85Yvette KendallUm, ah oh my gosh I would I would tell her to travel globally meet people from all walks of life and thrones and faith and.
25:24.93noblemenYeah, that's awesome.
25:31.36Yvette KendallPay attention. Take notes take advice. Ah but go beyond what you see every day. Ah so you can see what the world has to offer a lot of people don't leave their block A lot of people don't leave their town. A lot of people.
25:43.80noblemenRight.
25:51.30Yvette KendallYou know? So when you say things they'll go hey well black people. Don't do this black but well you know? yes we do you just haven't left seventy ninth street you know it's like so yeah I would tell her stop what you're doing graduate travel see the world.
25:53.48noblemenRight.
26:10.20Yvette KendallAnd and become a worldly person and not as a national person.
26:15.45noblemenYeah, yes that that's truly a good one I do believe that you know once people get outside the zip codes or they comfort zones I would say um, they really discover that there's um. There's a whole another world that opens up to them and and it changes your travel um will will definitely change your perspective you know, even um, you know myself you know today you know the more I travel I get the opportunity to travel engage people in different environments. Um, it. It changes your perspective. That's awesome. That's a good one. so so so what what would you say y that that some people Misunderstand about event.
26:48.23Yvette KendallYes.
27:02.37Yvette KendallAh, people think I am mean and aggressive. But thank you and I'll I'll tell you what that where it come what that comes from when people cannot get you to do what they want you to do.
27:05.78noblemenIs that right.
27:15.95noblemenRight? Or I I.
27:19.71Yvette KendallYou are aggressive. You are. You're faulty in some way shape or form if you constantly said yes and you gave in you would be the best person that they know so I let people know that my life is not about them. My life is about me and. Despite what you got planned and what you want for me and what you want me to do want me to go I don't have to be nobody I don't want to be so I think people Misunderstand my directness and my ah ability to tell you what you're not going to do.
27:43.79noblemenRight.
27:55.36Yvette KendallAs something does not afford it to everybody. So.
28:01.13noblemenThat's wonderful. So so what would you say has been your greatest personal achievement.
28:08.48Yvette KendallMy greatest personal achievement. Um as a career wise I mean I'm obligated to say my daughter if you want to say that but beyond my daughter ah career wise it has been. Ah.
28:15.32noblemenM.
28:25.42Yvette KendallAllowing ah allowing god to speak to me and then dared to do the things that he ah is allowing me to do and not being afraid of doing them. You know again I went from. Not writing anything to writing a book that ah some people say needs to be paired with the bible and I for some people for for them to say that what it is my first works ever that is so um, you know that is so prolific to them. Um.
28:44.53noblemenWow.
28:51.29noblemenRight. Right? right.
28:59.75Yvette KendallAnd those are their words not mine I just wrote my novel this past to do a god but um, that to me and then finding out that I went from I want to write something to living in I am a writer um I wrote something today.
29:18.68Yvette KendallOn Facebook and it says writing books tv series and movies is such a delicate thing. It's all about balance being certain to open and close the circle of ideas that's powering your stories. Hopefully. You will be blessed to speak to the majority of your audience and have the creativity to induce more who are not also be inclusive in a way that's not pandering and trendy authenticity should be what anchors.
29:51.77noblemenAmen.
29:55.36Yvette KendallYour universe for me is about exploring what has been overlooked in a fantastic way is about making something that's remarkable. So that's kind of what I'm doing. It's like I want something to be intrinsic I want something.
30:15.00noblemenUm.
30:16.21Yvette KendallAh, you know a lineage to move on and on and on so I'm not just writing ah for fun. It has to be it has to mean something.
30:26.76noblemenAll right? Absolutely absolutely. That's wonderful. So so what would you say your biggest failure and what did you learn from it.
30:38.92Yvette KendallOh my biggest failure. Oh goodness. Um.
30:48.44Yvette KendallOh Gosh I don't feel a lot. Ah you know what? my you know, um, unanswered and unspoken expectations is my biggest failure. Ah, whether that be in a relationship whether that be with a job whether it be with you know,? whatever if you have expectations of something or someone else and you don't communicate them. You're setting your situation up for Failure. So.
31:05.58noblemenUm, yeah.
31:14.54noblemenRight? Yeah, absolutely.
31:22.28Yvette KendallI I have learned that when I am in a situation to express what I want and find out if that person place or thing even has the capacity to provide that.
31:31.11noblemenAh.
31:38.54noblemenRight.
31:41.89Yvette KendallAnd that way you're not setting yourself up for failure and you're not ah losing a relationship that could have been something that even if it wasn't going to be what you intended It could still be.
31:53.83noblemenRight? Absolutely absolutely And as you said, um, that that could be applied to you know every area of our life if you will whether it's relationships whether that's business or what have you.
32:09.40Yvette KendallUm, and.
32:10.61noblemenUm, you said a couple key things - capacity and expectation. Um, you know I just believe that um performance is a direct link to expectations.
32:13.94Yvette KendallYes.
32:24.22Yvette KendallWith it.
32:27.94noblemenAnd and if they're known from the beginning I mean that's sort of the expectation management before you have to manage expectations or realize as you said um, are you in a space or place that has no capacity for what you're seeking. Yeah.
32:43.45Yvette KendallRight.
32:46.80noblemenThat's Wonderful. So So my my next question would ask you E that is what what makes you feel sort of inspired or like um like your best self. What? what? what is that? What is that place or space that you go to that really gets you inspired. Ah, you feel like you're at your best.
33:09.71Yvette KendallAh I have started a um, a system of self-care and and and and it doesn't it doesn't look like the way it sounds like you know when women say self-care. Oh I'm going to get a massage I'm going to get my hair done is is not that. My self-care is my living space and and being able to listen to whatever music and and not see anyone if I don't want to see them not talk if I don't want to talk and if I want something that I believe I want to. Eat is is about is about saying yes to me so I bought a home last year and my room is um, decorated like a art museum like I have um, Klimt. And Monet and boskyat paintings I mean it's their every war and um I come in my room I close my door I turn on my himiddifier I have my shows I watch or I play music and um.
34:05.26noblemenUm.
34:20.42Yvette KendallI absorb the art of life and I feel like a different person I wake up at at four or five o'clock in the morning I start writing I you know couples after hours after that I'll take a a bubble bath.
34:22.50noblemenAnd.
34:32.10noblemenI know.
34:39.72Yvette KendallGet out the bubble bath. Get back to writing open the window give fresh air. You know is whatever peace looks like to you my just look artistic and I started to give into that I used to go Oh well I'm gonna spend all this money on a painting I could be you know.
34:46.78noblemenFor right right.
34:57.97noblemenPray.
34:58.69Yvette KendallBuying a vacuum you know, but that vacuum is not giving me life. So I started to give in to what feeds my soul and I just feel like a different I feel like a different person and it has changed the what you know what? I write the way I write. Ah, the way I communicate it has to be from a space of Self-love and that's what I do now.
35:27.96noblemenWell, that's wonderful y event wonderful things to live by as well. So you've had before we go talk to us about um, a bit more about, Um, you know those interested in. How to connect with you those looking to purchase your book or just connect with you on on social media.
35:44.69Yvette KendallOkay, so if you want to connect I am on Instagram and I am up under my handle is scifi dot ceo and that's spelled sc I f I dot ceo and if you want to connect on Facebook is yvettee kindle sci-fi writer. Um I'm no longer on Twitter thank goodness. Ah, oh.
36:21.86Yvette KendallAnd I am on Linkedin under you know Yvette Kindle if you want to reach out there which I do a lot of business there and as far as my books um, not to sound hollywood but if you Google me.
36:31.53noblemenNo.
36:34.94Yvette KendallYou'll find out all the books that I have but all my books are on a Amazon they're on Barnes and noble books a million target. So if you want to is on I have books on audible as well. So got maps I have heart cover soft cover.
36:47.47noblemenOh.

That's maps in the search bar and it will pull up the different versions for you as well.

37:39.90Yvette KendallThank you.
It's Never too Late - but it is Time to out it All Together -
00:01.60
Hello everyone and welcome to the out front podcast I am your host Vince Noble hey I am once again, super excited to be with you on today and I you know certainly hope all as well on this beautiful. Sunday in September you know in spite of you know all the certainty and and negativity that is currently taking place in our world today. You know we really do still have a great deal to be thankful for. I think we should be mindful that at times you know? Yes, it's is true. The economy is still sort of messed up. It's true. We are starting to see the negative mental cumulative effects of this. What I would call a mental marathon in the form of a pandemic yet still in all of that we still have so much to celebrate and and it's a matter of perspective I believe.
01:10.53
I had this very interesting conversation. You know with someone this past weekend and they said to me you know Vince I think it's too late for me I think it's too late for me to go back to school and start the business I've always wanted. Yes, he said to me, it's too late to start the business I've always wanted all of my life and you see I was vexed in my spirit by once again. The realization that so many people are not living the lives that they had hoped for so many people are not living the lives that they have envisioned so many people are living the lives that - they didn't expect for themselves nor their family and so as a result of that you know many people sort of have become what I would say cynical by too many delays too many missed opportunities and setbacks. You see and the fact of the matter is I know for certain this individual is not the only one who feels this way but you see my friend in truth.
02:10.53
I believe there is no way God would have brought you this far and allowed you to sit and not go further.
03:44.14
So I was thinking today about time but what what is time and you see God doesn't see time the way that man sees time God's timing. Is certainly not like our timing I think we all can agree on that you know someone once asked me hey Vince what is a simple definition of time and I would say that it's the measurable period. On which an action process or condition exists or continues. However, when you think about it in the grand scheme of things time itself is unmeasurable. Its infinite, right. Someone once told me it's it's not over until it's over but when is it really over. So I would tell you today many of you just listening to this podcast on today. It's not over until it's over. So get up out of your bed get off of the sofa get out the house and get to it. It is not over. It is not too late. It is not a waste of time god is going to honor every single one of your teardrops.
05:16.49
It's already put into motion. Yes I believe for many of you the the business the the book deal The the do to the the degree completion plan. All the things that you thought was dead and no longer possible to exist in you. It's coming back to life I believe that I believe God is going to honor every single one of your teardrops. It's already put into Motion. You see the the majority of that is you just don't see it because he wants to honor your faith. You see you just don't see it. But the reality is he wants to honor your faith I know you heard your mother say plenty of times faith without works is dead. It's it's it's the substance. It's those things. Um. Those things that you hope for.. That's not always seen or evident of those things see a lot of times we want Proof. We want signs before we believe and that's that's not how faith worked but I will tell you today. My friend.
06:41.81
That it's still going to require your faith. You see I can give you a lot. You know I know this I can I can give you a lot but the truth is your hope comes from Within. You have to personally work towards your own hope the question becomes what are you working on or have you given up have you given up working on that business plan have you given up working on. Ah you know going back to school completing your degree. Have you have you given up So again, the question becomes because you're not out of time. It's never over until it's over the question becomes what are you still working on stop stop listening to all the naysayers and haters talk. Talk about you're wasting your time. It's too Late. You're too old as if time is up I know you feel like you've missed opportunities a lot of people feel that way I know you feel like you're Missed. Your opportunity I've been there. My friend I know you feel like you're missed your opportunity and you missed your timing but I'm here to tell you it's not too late. My friend. You have all the time.
08:14.70
Because it's not over until it's over when it's over It's not open until it's over. We all have different times of our arrival. You see we all have different times of our arrival so you can't look at 1 person in particular in this side. Well why did this person arrive before me because. Why because we all have different times of arrival you see we perhaps may not have been on the same flight you perhaps have gotten delayed along the way for several different reasons you were delayed for several different reasons. But sometimes god had to get you rebooked on a different flight to see the conditions and to set the conditions more importantly, for your arrival sometimes we have to sit for a while. We have to sit for a while as part of our process of refinement think about that for a moment sometime. We have to sit for a while as part of the process of our refinement. And continue learning I know for many of those even in the religious community. You know you don't know which way to turn because for years you've set underneath a cultural construct that dictate dictated what you should look like.
09:49.41
What you should look like in that like that that that in truth is not even consistent with the holy scriptures you see I believe there are some people that you have been taking advice that you know. I believe there are I believe there are some people that perhaps you have been taking advice from will never allow you to go further than them think about that for a moment. There are some people in your circle that you have been taking advice from will never allow you to go further than them. You see you are going. To serve them at 1 time or another you understand you see you no longer even know what you want and need. You see you no longer know what you even want and need to get you where you desire because we have sat under oppression for so long. We no longer even know what we want or need.
11:16.55
We no longer even know what we want and need to continue to feed us in a way that we truly need all you know is you can no longer continue doing things the way that you have. You see now and that you have been waiting now that you have been waiting longer than most god is going to I believe accelerate you do time to god have a way of accelerating us through time. Remember god doesn't see time the way we see times god have a way of accelerating us through time the time in which it took most people to do specific things you're going to do it in half amount of time. Yes, what it took 10 years to be. You're going to do it in 5 because you've been waiting. There's some people that's been waiting and and you have learned and sat long enough and the truth is you either winning or you're learning. It's not too late, it's not too late but it is time to put it all together. It's not too late, but it is time to put it all together.
12:44.82
You see for years I celebrated other people and I had no problem with that for years I celebrated other people for years I watch other people seasons arrive while waiting you see celebrating and waiting at the same time. I don't know if you know the psychological effects of that at times but but but we have to learn this It's very important to learn that we have to learn to celebrate and wait at the same time you see some people don't know how to. Celebrate with others instead. They get mad instead. They get angry instead. They start hating instead. They start trying to sabotage the success of everyone else around them. Yes, they start drinking the slow poison of jealousy. They start drinking the slow poisoning of envy they start drinking the slow poisoning of strife. It gets pint up in your body and begin to spread like a cancer. You've seen that. But but not, you. Those that listen to this podcast but not you, you've been celebrating and waiting long enough. You've been celebrating and waiting in faith knowing god is not a respecter of person. He doesn't have clicks and crews and favors like we do meaning if he did it for me.
14:19.90
He'll do the same thing for you plus some god is about to shoot someone ahead straight ahead. See this is not any Hocus Pocus stuff I believe it's because I lived it myself and so I see in my spirit I see in my spirit god is about to shoot someone far forward than everyone else. Even in the midst of this economy even during an approaching recession and depression. He's going to put you on the winning side of a recession. He's going to put you on the other side of a depression. So don't worry about it. He's going to put you on the other side of this thing. Yeah, he's going to put you on the winning side and even the ones that hated you will take notice even the friends of those who hated you would take the message back to take notice that they were forced to be noticed. They were forced to notice you even the ones that told you it's too late. It won't work. You're wasting your time you're too old. It will never work. You're going to have to go back and bless them too.
15:47.43
So just make sure your attitude is right because you're going to be the one god used to save the very one that tried to kill your spirit. Yes, the very one that talked against you the very one that talked behind your back. The very one that hated on you god is going to use you to say that very 1 yes, even the people that deliberately ignored you even the people that deliberately dismissed you even the people that. Deliberately tried to dismiss the significance. They refused to see your value. They are all going to have to acknowledge you. It's never too late. My friend. Again and this is not any hocus pokers I'm telling you from what I experienced in my own personal life have you ever seen a sling shot. You remember middle sling shots growing up we we would be with our own sling shots. See growing up in the neighborhood. We used to collect materials to see who could who could build the best looking sling shot and after walking all through the neighborhood all through the alleys and railroad yards and.
17:15.33
Walking alone the railroad tracks and anywhere we could find old stacks of wood that was good enough as material to build our sling shots and whenever we would return to our secret clubhouse. I would always be the last one to finish building my slingshot every single time and all the other kids you know that they would laugh at me because mine wasn't finished before theirs I would always take my time building my slingshot. But you see I think god was teaching me a few things about being disciplined enough to realize the precision that it takes some time the mastery that it takes some time and development and timing that it takes some time. You see I knew if I could build my sling shot durable and strong enough to be able to pull back the rubber bands further enough that my sling shot would shoot farther than anyone else's could. Yes, if I could just build it strong enough and durable enough that I could pull it as far as back as I could that my sling shot that my slingshot would be guaranteed to go furthest with precision.
18:50.56
I'm certain I got the most confirmed squirrel kills this this very day right? and just as I had hope for when my sling shot was complete. Mine was consistently going several hundred meters further than all the others. To the day and just as I had hoped for my sling shot was consistently going several hundred meters further than everyone else's you see the individuals that was. Previously laughing the loudest they they started to ask me for help to build their sling shots I'd go with a pocket full of now or laters and candy and all sorts of goodies because I spit the day negotiating. You know if you. Give me some of what you have I'll be your slingshot too. You see in the same manner. All those years god had god had to slow you down so that he could pull you back sometime. God has to pull you back. He has to pull us back further. Than everyone else so that he understood that when he pulled you back to make sure that you were durable enough to withstand being pulled.
20:20.48
Every which way at high levels one day knowing that the day will come. You'd make it out of your situation. You make it out of your circumstances by the grace of god going going further than anyone else imagined. My friend. Ah, tell you just a few moments today that it's not over. It's not over until it's over time is still on your side
until next time.
In this episode, we talked about her experience of being the daughter of prominent artist, her work in television as a producer, and most importantly her current life work of helping others optimize mental, spiritual, and physical health.

She is the daughter of John Amos most of us affectionately know him as.
02:04.35 noblemen James Evans from the hit seventy s tv show good times and her mother Noel Nickerson both were prominent actors she has appeared in many television series networks and films including BET Network, ESPN, Turner Originals TV One just to name a few, today, She is also widely known as the international holistic health coach and founder of Sumana a luxury wellness travel agency in this episode. We'll be talking all about her newfound passion her business vision and mission some of her experiences of being the daughter of prominent actors some have worked in television as a producer and most importantly, her current life work. Of helping others optimize their mental spiritual and physical health. We certainly have a lot to unpack in this episode. So let's go. So.
03:45.94 noblemen Um, Shannon welcome to the show today.
03:49.24 Shannon Amos Um, thank you so much Vince I'm so happy to be here. Thank you.
03:51.26 noblemen Hey is it's certainly it it. It's certainly a pleasure to have you on the show today Shannon and so hey so for those who may not know you or all that what you do tell us a little bit about yourself.
04:09.63 Shannon Amos Ah, well again, my name is Shannon Amos I am currently living in Playa Del Carmen Mexico where I facilitate and host wellness retreats in this new life that I've created and prior to that I was a television producer. For over 20 years in the entertainment industry.
04:30.79 noblemen Wow Shannon and thanks, it's certainly a pleasure to to have you on the show with us today I know we've we've been trying to s sink this ah interview up for a little while now and you're all over the world on. Ah, you know, great and wonderful things. But um, hey it's certainly a pleasure to to finally you know, get you on the show I think the last time we had the opportunity to speak. We may have talked you know close to an hour and it was certainly a pleasure.
04:56.52 Shannon Amos Absolutely I enjoy it. Thank you.
05:01.87 noblemen So, Shannon you know I have to ask upfront what was it like before we get to anything else. What was it like as a child growing up with with prominent actors. You know, um your dad John Amos
05:05.36 Shannon Amos Um, yes.
05:19.73 noblemen Um, at home was he much like the good times character. We officially know as James Evans or what.
05:25.95 Shannon Amos Um, yeah, wasn't a stretch I will admit that his character is not far off from who he is but um, you know there's so many multiple layers to who my father is so while he embodied some of those characteristics. Um, you know that was a fictional character in real Life. He's a very much introverted man um, pretty shy loves to be in a quiet space loves nature and really a renaissance man actually both of my parents I would consider Renaissance people.
05:53.28 noblemen Um.
05:58.93 Shannon Amos Um, my mom wasn't an actor I just want to correct that my mother is an artist so she was a creative with her hands and my father being an actor. Um you know, brought that energy of creative spirit into the household.
06:00.51 noblemen Had her heart.
06:15.29 Shannon Amos And so it was amazing. Growing up because I got to be around people like Maya Angelou you know having dinner with her in my youth and not even realizing or maybe I was realizing but not to the magnitude of of who she was in the world until I really grew up and having people like Lou Gosset and Ben Vaine and um, other you know, just really prominent amazingly talented people in and out of our home growing up and being exposed to that was was amazing.
06:42.59 noblemen Yeah that's amazing. So Shannon you know you've kind of followed your dad somewhat. Um you know into television and producing and that sort of thing but there was a bit of ah of a shift as I understand around 2017 so sort of what what ultimately brought you, you know to the work you so passionately do today.
07:03.68 Shannon Amos You know it was a series of events. Um I had been producing like I said for over twenty years and I wasn't feeling as fulfilled as I thought I would you know even in the pinnacle of my career like I was I was happy and grateful for everything. But. Just wasn't feeling as fulfilled in the work and as television changed and more things were being driven by marketing and by the networks of ideas of who we are and how we're supposed to show up the more I became disenchanted and around that same time. Um.
07:23.18 noblemen Um, a number.
07:36.78 Shannon Amos My mother who had been struggling for many years from injuries sustained from a medical malpractice incident finally succumbed to them and prior to her transition while she was in the hospital. Um in the last week of her life I asked her hey mom.
07:44.29 noblemen Um, a.
07:56.12 Shannon Amos Do you have any regrets and for anything that you regret regret that you didn't do and she said you know Shannon only that I didn't get to travel and see the world and so we knew that we were going to be cremating her. We knew that she was actively transitioning at that point and so I said well what if I traveled the world and I took your ashes with me.
07:58.61 noblemen Um.
08:15.36 Shannon Amos Her eyes lit up and she smiled and she said Shannon go see the world and let the world see you? Yeah yeah.
08:21.10 noblemen Wow, that's that's amazing yes yeah and so Shannon, I understand right now you you're currently doing the work in and all the way in Mexico tell us a little bit about that.
08:34.36 Shannon Amos Yeah I took off um after my mom passed I took off and I traveled solo around south east Asia for about a year year and a half and then I ended up in I took I call it my soul sabbatical. So I just took here to to heal and and worked through the grief and I ended up.
08:39.73 noblemen And.
08:47.93 noblemen I'm gonna.
08:52.15 Shannon Amos Um, in Peru and I sat with a shaman in Peru and had my first experience with plant medicine called ayahuasca some people will not be familiar with what that is, but it's now been talked about by will smith in his book Mike Tyson
09:00.22 noblemen I know.
09:09.68 Shannon Amos Um, has recently shared his experiences as well as Chris Rock and um, so I think now that it's moving more into the the conversations around healing with psychedelics is moving now more into Mainstream consciousness and awareness and into black culture and.
09:22.85 noblemen Um, all right.
09:27.81 Shannon Amos That's what kind of brought me to Mexico I was invited by a friend and I came down to visit I fell in love with it and then I ended up connecting with a facilitator who here who was the protege of the facilitator I sat with in Peru.
09:46.18 noblemen That sound exciting. You know Shannon I feel like even now you know sort of we are all still very much on this. You know mental Marathon Globally if you will you know with with all ah you know various. Infectious diseases since the pandemic you know here in the Us. The political climate is still yet. You know, probably the most polarizing many of us known in our lifetime you know the impact of high inflation and all this mental. Cumulative effect if you will is certainly beginning to manifest you know in our culture. You know what have you personally found most challenging during these times and how are you dealing with it as well as you know, coaching others to it.
10:30.74 Shannon Amos No vice I feel like the culture that we've created American society that we've created was designed for machines not for humans and we've been living our lives like machines we're getting up. We're going to the same jobs we're doing the same thing over and over and over in repetitive motion. And you know, no wonder people are exhausted. No wonder people are tired and burned out and frustrated and feeling stuck. It's like we didn't sign up for this right? and I think that there is a serious process of needing to remember who we are and remember what we come from and where we come from.
10:59.20 noblemen Um.
11:08.93 Shannon Amos And really to tap into our sole purpose and so my work now having gone through so many changes and also reconnecting with nature reconnecting with indigenous people learning more about ancestral wisdom. And really getting educated about the different tools that are out here to support our wellbeing. That's now what I bring to my clients and bring into my retreats and even my wellness travel.
11:32.23 noblemen Um.
11:39.40 noblemen Well, that's wonderful. So Shannon I I heard you once say something that that I'd like to sort of unpack a little bit is that um you know you made a statement. How can you be a light worker.
11:44.75 Shannon Amos Each.
11:54.20 noblemen Ah, when you have yet to sit with your darkness and that kind of moved me in a way when I first heard that talk to us a little bit about that.
12:00.89 Shannon Amos Yeah, you know there is a there is I guess I repeat this a lot and I'll say it again is that healing isn't linear. It's different for each and every one of us as we are to our own thumbprint and I feel like there is a path for each and every one of us for me the path was plant medicine. The path was. You know, really getting reconnected with nature but also there were many steps in that process before I got there. You know when I first landed in Bali um I was introduced really to the practice of meditation and from there I went on to India where I studied yoga in ayurveda and. You know so there were different tools that I was gathering in that process and I think that in the current state of affairs that we find this world in with things always changing and and moving so quickly that it's really important that we slow down and when you slow down.
12:55.78 noblemen Um.
12:57.35 Shannon Amos You can really do some serious reflection and that's where we tap into that shadow part of ourselves that the the thoughts and the feelings and all the stuff that we've been consuming and pushing down in our bodies. All that generational trauma that we are holding.
13:10.11 noblemen Right? right.
13:14.32 Shannon Amos Yeah, and and until we actually do the work to to bring it up to sit with it to process it and to let it go. We can't you know we can't fully step into helping others. How do we help our families if we're not helping ourselves so it's like that.
13:29.87 noblemen Um, right right? That's that's amazing in there. So Shanna what? what would you say you know is your single you know, greatest mistake if you was to share.
13:30.46 Shannon Amos Philosophy of securing your own mask first.
13:41.91 noblemen And what did it really teach you.
13:42.55 Shannon Amos I Think that the calling had been there for me for a long time and I chose to ignore it I Chose to do what I thought was what I was supposed to do which would be successful to honor. You know my family's legacy.
13:55.47 noblemen Um.
13:59.95 noblemen Um, right.
14:01.30 Shannon Amos Make money to have a lot of things to have cars and houses and material wealth and yet with all of those things I still felt like I wasn't fulfilled and I think that was probably the biggest mistake wasn't listening to my heart's calling.
14:18.78 noblemen Wow, that's amazing there. So Sean let's just twist a little bit and talk a little bit about the company you established um and in 2019 suma right yeah a luxury travel company.
14:30.20 Shannon Amos Um, yeah, yes.
14:31.70 noblemen Tell us a little bit about that and and sort of you know what was your inspiration for starting a company.
14:34.42 Shannon Amos Absolutely you know after the year that I did backpacking across Southeast Asia I really did it in a very unconventional way I left with $700 on a one-way ticket and not because I had to I was choosing to because I wanted to see what.
14:48.28 noblemen Um.
14:51.22 Shannon Amos What it would be like to just step into flow how far could I go and I ended up being gone for over a year and traveling to 12 countries and what that taught me is that there is infinite abundance in this universe and everything that we need is really here to support us but we have to tap into it and.
14:55.18 noblemen Um.
14:59.80 noblemen Um, wow.
15:09.74 noblemen Um.
15:10.16 Shannon Amos Along my Journeys I Was you know I was healing and I was receiving all these different tools without even realizing it and by the time I came back. My life had changed in so many ways and I had changed in so many ways that I wanted people that I care about to experience that I wanted people through.
15:27.61 noblemen Um.
15:28.50 Shannon Amos Ah know what it's like to detach from all of the stuff and to have a deep cultural experience and a wellness experience and that's how Summana was born and in sanskrit Sumana means to bloom and so yeah, we just plant the seed so you can bloom.
15:38.63 noblemen Awesome! That's that's wonderful. So a I tell you I'm certainly looking forward to one of those adventures here real soon.
15:52.17 Shannon Amos Um I love that I love that we want to go to Egypt you got to join us in Egypt or Africa. Um.
15:55.78 noblemen Ah Wow. Okay, we're gonna have to carve that in the calendar like ASAP right? like right away. So what's the dates on that.
16:06.16 Shannon Amos Um, well our first Egypt trip is in January January tech through the twenty second that 1 is already full so we are gonna launch a second one but what makes it so special is that we are going to really tap into ancient Kemet and the African history of Egypt. The part of the history. We don't get and.
16:11.93 noblemen Okay.
16:20.23 noblemen Um, ah.
16:23.50 noblemen Cry.
16:25.96 Shannon Amos We have a guy on the ground there who is so powerful and amazing and is really tapped into the historical truths. So we're going to plug into that energy that frequency and get a lot of wisdom and knowledge too.
16:40.38 noblemen That's wonderful. That's wonderful I. Really yeah, you know a number of years Actually I've I've been sort of you know doing a great deal of study on as you mentioned ancient Kemet and and Timbuktu all of those things that. Perhaps um, we were we were taught to sort of not investigate or were falsehood and so we didn't explore them So I often say is when you can't get it all in the book you got to go there for yourself and see for yourself. I'm certainly looking forward to that trip.
17:15.31 Shannon Amos Absolutely absolutely and you know it's it's really interesting part of what traveling has opened up for me in that way and I've been to 53 countries now that um how much propaganda and news. You know, kind of dissuades us from going to places like even Mexico when I came to Mexico people were like. Are you going to be safe. Is it dangerous is the cartel going to be after you and now I feel safer here like we don't have mass shootings in Mexico. Ok, we're not yeah.
17:33.10 noblemen Um, dry or I all right.
17:41.60 noblemen Um, right right? right? right? Yeah, right? Yeah, so so.
17:50.58 Shannon Amos Very different.
17:53.39 noblemen What is it that individuals can look to experience. Overall you know and in a Sumana experience.
17:58.31 Shannon Amos You know what we do is we really take the time to curate an experience for each and every person that's traveling with us and so rather than travel on a Rigid itinerary. It's a very free flowing itinerary. Let's say for example.
18:11.54 noblemen Right.
18:15.11 Shannon Amos We went to Egypt and and you want to just stay in a spa and get a massage that day and maybe a few people want to go on the nile and go kayaking or maybe they want to take a walk along you know in Cairo or something. It's it's.
18:22.14 noblemen And.
18:29.63 Shannon Amos The way that we craft it is so that you can have an experience that is unique to you and you know there are activities we do as a group which are really beautiful and lovely. But.
18:35.56 noblemen Um.
18:41.20 Shannon Amos Um, it's very free flowing you you move the way you need to move at the time you need to move and that allows people to really get the rest they need which is so important but also to um, enjoy the experience and not feel rushed.
18:50.31 noblemen Um, no.
18:53.47 noblemen Right? right? So So what? what piece of Advice. You know as you mentioned is you know getting Beyond sort of the propaganda that that is oftentime associated with traveling abroad. But but what piece of advice would you give someone that's. Sort of looking to take that leap of faith as you have and then just get out and travel abroad.
19:18.85 Shannon Amos Yeah, you know, um I say just do it get out of your way get out of your fear and just do it. But some advice I could give is that if you're planning to go to a country go on on a Facebook even if you don't like Facebook to set up an account you know for this purpose and.
19:31.80 noblemen By group.
19:35.15 Shannon Amos Look for expat groups in that country. For example, when I came to Mexico I joined like 3 or 4 different expat groups on Facebook and I was able to pretty much ask for anything that I was looking for and someone would answer and um I was also able to tap into communities of expats. That we're already living here. So it was like upon arrival I already knew a few people you know that I had spoken with that. You know, ah that could give me and kind of show me the ropes and it makes life so much easier in that way to have a connection when you arrive.
20:04.74 noblemen Um.
20:10.15 noblemen So Shan I know you I know you talked on it a little bit but if you could if you could unpack it just a little bit more about, um you know something you previously said about the indigenous wisdom and plant Medicine retreats. Um.
20:20.79 Shannon Amos In him.
20:25.28 noblemen Talk talk to us a little bit ah about that a little bit more what what to expect from that experience a little bit.
20:29.19 Shannon Amos Absolutely first off I know that you know we've been colonized into believing that plant medicine is drugs when it's absolutely.
20:39.26 noblemen Um I.
20:41.80 Shannon Amos Ah, the opposite drugs are um, you know what the government you know has deemed as such one to um, it is pharmaceuticals they are synthe synthetic medications those are actual drugs what grows in nature and what is in nature. Um, has the technology and the wisdom of plants and and when we look at things like for example, Psilocybin which is the street name would be called Magic mushrooms, mushrooms or fungi and fungi have been on this planet you know for.
21:04.96 noblemen Um.
21:15.94 Shannon Amos Probably be well way before man you know they they even say that it probably comes from the stars from stardust um, it holds the wisdom, the innate wisdom and intelligence of hundreds of thousands of years and indigenous people who live in um, in nature.
21:29.60 noblemen Um, remember.
21:33.97 Shannon Amos Are very tapped into the plants the herbs the various medicines and and what they can be used for It's scientists that come in and then cultivate it and turn it into um other you know, healing modalities and not to even say that all drugs in western culture are bad because clearly there are some that cure us and help us. But they also usually come with loads of side effects. So um, what we're doing is we're working with indigenous cultures who have been studying and understanding and working with various plant medicines for generation upon generation and we're bringing people into a safe space, a comfortable space. Working alongside our indigenous partners to create and share experiences to help elevate consciousness and some of those things for example are ayahuasca and psilocybin and both help there's scientific evidence now that shows they help relieve ptsd. Um, anxiety depression ocd um, and other there's studies now around alzheimer's Parkinson's and dementia so there are very powerful healing abilities that happen with these medicines. Um. If. You're not prepared or not feeling called to um the work with Psychedelic Plant medicines there are plenty of plant medicines that don't have a psychoactive effect that are also beneficial like cacao and cacao has a molecule called the bliss molecule which is a heart opener.
22:53.34 noblemen Um, I mean.
22:58.94 noblemen Um.
23:03.50 Shannon Amos Gets the blood flowing and it's a great to combine with other Healthcare practices. You can drink it every day. Um, you know it's better for you than Coffee. It's a super ah superfood a Super fruit Um, and it has multiple beneficial you know effects. So ah in a retreat with us. You get to experience on what you choose and you know we're not here to push anybody into anything with ayahuasca or psilocybin I would say if you feel called then we're here for you to support you if you're not ready for that. We're not here to try to make you Ready. We're here to support whatever your wellness needs are.
23:35.60 noblemen Um.
23:40.93 Shannon Amos And if it's movement if it's yoga if it's meditation you want to deepen your practice. All of that is available in our retreats.
23:48.57 noblemen That's certainly amazing and but you know as you said that? So so much you know I think so much education is still needed. Um in terms of you know how do you know? treat. Different ailments from a holistic perspective especially when you know as you mentioned we've been sort of conditioned. Um by primarily big pharma. Um, that did yeah have been conditioned to to think of you know, certain drugs in a certain way. Um.
24:11.61 Shannon Amos A.
24:21.68 noblemen So who who would you say would be you know sort of the ideal person in this case for your retreats.
24:28.89 Shannon Amos I would say someone who is tired exhausted feeling stuck burned out possibly suffering from depression anxiety. Also we have a lot of folks who are seekers who are um, going through a spiritual transition or or tapping into their you know.
24:34.30 noblemen Um, are you on.
24:46.81 Shannon Amos More of their spiritual spirituality or um, those who are seeking to expand their consciousness who are ready to you know to grow and ready to step into um their full purpose. We also get people who are suffering from addiction smoking cigarettes. Um alcoholism.
25:03.21 noblemen Um, and hope.
25:05.97 Shannon Amos Ah, tobacco drugs. You know hard drugs like ah cocaine and heroin so we see a broad spectrum of people we get moms and dads we have families come in with their adult children. Um, our youngest client was 19 years old who suffered from. Clinical depression and what we're able to do and what we're seeing is that a matter of fact I've had several clients now who've come in with clinical depression. We've been able to move them off of their drugs that had horrible side effects and onto micro dosing with psilocybin.
25:37.84 noblemen Um.
25:42.77 Shannon Amos And now they're thriving and when I hear that back from my clients when I have a client that tells me for the last twelve years I've been in misery and I'm finally sleeping I'm finally experiencing happiness and joy. That's what keeps me in this work.
25:59.59 noblemen Well Shannon you know there's certainly um, a a work um particularly in in the African American and latino community to be done in this area. Um I think I think even now.
26:11.26 Shannon Amos Um, yes.
26:17.25 noblemen As as we really begin to see things manifest at at levels that we've never seen before at a much younger age. Certainly um that that um, you know I personally believe that um mental health has to take a priority in America and.
26:23.36 Shannon Amos Um, yes.
26:36.90 noblemen And and it it may be needed in a number of different ways and certainly from a holistic natural perspective. You know? Um, yeah, so how do you feel today like with all the the 24 hour news cycle and the internet and social media and.
26:41.40 Shannon Amos Um, yeah, let's get.
26:54.88 noblemen All the streaming platforms um have have ah impacted you know mental health of people. You know, certainly you know I don't know if that all those things like go away you you turn all your cell phones in when you get on one of your retreats. So what have you? But how did you feel like you know, although that has.
27:09.60 Shannon Amos Um, same position.
27:13.21 Shannon Amos In a huge way because it's programming and when we are consuming that content when we're consuming things that aren't good for us things that sit in our body we're consuming it on a cellular level and that's why the work we're doing is is.
27:13.28 noblemen Impacted mental health of people.
27:29.24 noblemen Um.
27:32.26 Shannon Amos So amazing because we're really working on a cellular level to move that energy to move that programming to expand beyond it so that we can face it release it and let it go um the work that we do is you know from? Well let me go back for a second being black folks. Up from the hot sidewalks and run down steel mills of the Chicago metropolitan area — comes a rising star, a fastly emerging female rap icon “BriCold.” BriCold completely understands from the start of it all hip - hop was about storytelling. Just as the sound of the movement was created by the creative repurposing of music that already existed, the success of the genre’s MCs was based on their willingness to shatter old forms and wield the shards to create a new style of self-expression. Male and female rappers alike used wordplay, repetition, and extended metaphor to relate experiences that were dark, violent, romantic, or hopeful, casting themselves as a hero, witness, or role model.
BriCold is an artist who once again shows us how hip-hop has expanded into various art forms and musical subgenres – with rap specifically being one of the most popular musical styles among today’s youth. In “Life and Hip-Hop,”
In this episode, we went one on one with BriCold — we discussed her early life influences, her love for the art form, her thoughts about the music industry today and so much more.
I don't care who you are -- at some point in your life, you are going to be faced with some adversity. Most people will naturally try to run from it — but it's in how you deal with it. Many individuals have discovered, this past couple of years how important it is in who you hook up with or team up with — The conversations you have in your environment is so, so, important — people spend a lifetime in the wrong environments where they don't grow, they don't expand their capacities and when the crap hit the fan they don't have a plan.
In this special in of year 2021 episode we will talk about “The Benefits of Adversity” -- Yeah I know what you're thinking — since when do those two words co-exist!?! “Adversity will prove or either disprove what you claim or think you're made of!”
we will discuss four major ways to deal with adversity:
1- Prepare for the journey to be harder than you think it will be
Many people fail because they think it will be easy. — If you prepare for the work to be twice as hard as you think, you’re one step ahead of the game. Being optimistic will get you started, but knowing that you are prepared for shit to hit the fan will help you finish. Let's not play — there is NO clean way to say certain things!
Like a Soldier, you learn to train as you expect to fight — and from a leader perspective, you replicate tough battlefield conditions by planning and resourcing tough realistic training events. Because you expect shit to hit the fan! And you need your Soldiers to be prepared to react as second nature and not lay down in the foxhole.
2- Manage your fear
A lot of people run away from fear. Sit with it; get to know it; embrace it. When you embrace your fear, you become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
4- You must Find your flow
You can do more in 10 minutes in a flow state than in hours being stressed out. If it feels like you don’t have enough time, take a break, and get into the flow. If you’re stressed, it could be because you forget to feed the king, you forgot to feed the queen. you don’t work out, you don’t meditate, What are you feeding yourself? What are you listening to? What are you watching on a daily? What are you reading? What conversations are you partaking in? Give yourself time to get into the flow state. When you’re in flow, your thought patterns are different than when you are not, and you will be able to see solutions that you couldn’t before.

There is no doubt that most of us have been in different forms of conflict throughout our lives and especially so in the workplace. When we talk about conflict escalation, we want to highlight that not only has the intensity of the ongoing conflict risen, but also that of the approaches being employed. A shift in the intensity of conflict is usually driven by reactions and interactions, external forces and/or by the involvement of additional people. That is, as conflicts surge, the number of individuals involved increases as well. As much as conflict escalation does not always directly translate to violence and destruction, the threat of rougher and tougher times tends to heighten. That is why, the comprehension of the stages of conflict escalation is important especially in the conflict de-escalation process.

You have to have a certain level of situational awareness to recalibrate, to reposition if you will —— when life throws you curveballs? The real test and challenge of life is how agile and adaptive individuals can become --- How we must learn to better anticipate changes in the environment and reposition according is vitally important. As individuals further develop their long-range strategic thinking --- in essence, they develop the capacity to engage in a thought process that focuses on the analysis of critical factors and variables that will influence their long-term success. “When you organize your mind everything else falls in line”
When we talk about mental health we are talking about “a person’s condition concerning their psychological and emotional well-being. I happen to believe — that in certain communities and as well as society as a whole — we don't understand enough about mental health and the positive or negative impact on certain communities — because we don't truly give enough attention to the matter and the fact that somewhere on the spectrum of adult psychopathologies there are so many conditions that go improperly diagnosed and or mistreated — it isn't a priority of things in our society on our list of things to get evaluated —as in our physical health or appearance. This is true even from a leader's perspective.
Mentally healthy people often:
We discussed how resilience is your ability to honestly cope with the circumstances and bounce back from stress and adversity, and hopefully even grow through the experience — and so much more!
Mental Endurance involves developing daily habits that build mental muscle. It also involves giving up bad habits that hold you back. Think Positively. Self-confidence and the belief in one's ability to perform and to make decisions is one of the most important characteristics of a healthy mind. In this episode I’ll be discussing:
As with building mental strength, developing mental toughness does require self-awareness and commitment. Generally speaking, mentally tough individuals appear to achieve more than the mentally sensitive and enjoy a greater degree of contentment.

The truth is oftentimes those in most need of mentoring don't understand enough about how they should seek it out, and sometimes it's a matter of proximity or getting beyond environmental restraints and the lack of exposure. The chances are if you weren't brought up in a culture of positive mentoring you’ll be less to engage in mentoring positively. You will naturally only put out what's been intentionally placed in you.
Mentoring is that time-honored practice in which many of us can point to an influential person (or maybe several people) who have helped shape who many of us are today. These mentors have worked behind the scenes with us, generously sharing their time, expertise, and insights to nurture our potential, and to keep us on track, and help us grow - often personally and professionally.
In this episode we'll be discussing the topic of "The Search for My Mentor"
1. What are the approaches to finding a good mentor 2. What questions to ask a potential mentor 3. How do I know if it's the right fit 4. The benefits of mentoring for personal and professional development, staying on target and so much more!

I for one clearly understand after spending most of my adult life abroad in some not so good places that equity, access, participation, and basic right is not always easily achievable. The past few years particularly in American have certainly been both destructive and challenging on multiple levels from a social justice perspective. Diversity and inclusion continue to be a top priority for civic and business leaders around the world. After all, ecosystems thrive on diversity, and the world of business is no different. In this special one on one episode, we’ll talk about this idea of ”Making timely Decision” we are all very much in this hour of some very serious decisions, there is no escaping. I believe the impact of the pressing decisions of the hour is going to set us on a downward or upward glide path for the next 50 years or more. So, In that decision-making process, we must first learn to: 1. Properly assess the situation 2. Seek out relevant information 3. weigh options 4. Make judgments accordingly 5. Changing the world one leader at a time.
You Still Get to Tell Your Story
In this episode we talk about learning to choose the right language for the story that you truly seek to be told. We learned that it is often these limiting beliefs that keep us from achieving greater levels of success.
What’s the first thing you do when you meet someone new? You ask him or her to tell you their story but very few individuals know how to do this well. These limiting or negative thoughts in our minds often take over.
They give too much back story, drone on for 20 or 30 minutes, list arbitrary details that mean nothing to you, and putter out at the end, leaving you wondering what the point was. It can leave you feeling confused and unfulfilled.
This is not okay. Because you have a story to tell, and it deserves to be told well.
You need to practice. You need to become an expert at telling your own story. Consider some of the basic elements of any good story and how they apply to your story:
