In the hot month of July, we will explore the Power of Understanding as well as our concepts of freedom. Use this power of understanding to freely flow into a state of connection with yourself and others and to envision your best self through the Love that we all are! And speaking of flowing - I will also look at spiritual aspects of water... as in cooling off in some “living water”?
Spiritual transformation sounds exciting, and it is, however, it can also cause what the Fillmores called “chemicalization.” Chemicalization is the bubbling up of old ideas as we begin to practice Truth. These old ideas need to die off before we can see the light of the new day, a new dawn.
Truth transforms by revealing our true selves, offering freedom, and guiding us towards a more fulfilling life. It helps us understand our place in the world, see things as they are, and make informed decisions.
Paul McCartney wrote “Let It Be” about a dream he had that his deceased mother Mary came to him in his dream and said “Let it Be.” This Mother’s Day let’s have some fun with the idea that “Mother Mary” represents the archetypal Mother, full of love and grace for her offspring (you and me) . Will we heed the lesson and Let it Be? Would that bring us peace this Mother’s Day?
Oftentimes we are our worst critic and greatest adversary. Opening ourselves to the compassionate truth of the Christ consciousness will raise our vibration and shine our light brightly into the world.
In this talk, we explore how the Divine reveals itself in every corner of life—through nature, conflict, clarity, and even the chaos of daily experience. With reflections from mystical teachings, sacred metaphor, and embodied awareness, we’re invited to see life itself as our greatest teacher. Beyond logic and labels, we move toward a deeper realization: that everything is guiding us, if we’re willing to listen.
In this service, we will try to create the environment for you to experience Easter, not just talk about it. This will be accomplished by readings from scripture ( lectio divina), meditation and centering prayer. Easter can be a spiritual experience of awakening to the Divine within you, just as Jesus did.
This is about moving forward bravely into your purpose with humility (reliance on God). It’s also about returning home as Jesus did when he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey (humility).
In this lesson, we will explore Unity's beliefs around who you are from a spiritual perspective. Eckhart Tolle says, “It is more important to simply be comfortable not knowing who you are.” But, we still want to know! Becoming fully human, and fully Divine. Maybe it's not about who you are so much as understanding wholeness, our true nature.
For most of our lives on this physical plane we've been told "what we are," or "what we're not." True, everlasting joy comes from finding out WHO we really are and becoming congruent with the purpose of what we've come here to do.
We have been talking about becoming vulnerable with the God within and how it benefits us to get real with the God of your understanding! In this lesson we will examine your relationship with God. When you create a comfortable and loving relationship with the One, you will be open to a new way of being. No longer handicapped by indecision or worry, you will move confidently and quietly into a new paradigm for living a life you might not have imagined for yourself. Your honesty with yourself and God is the key to opening doors which have heretofore been closed.
Explore how the chemical composition of a flame mirrors our spiritual journey: inert potential ignites with nurtured thought, fueling collective energy to manifest and spread divine action.
What is your true life purpose? Perhaps this is a daunting question to contemplate. Once addressed, knowing your true purpose will bring a sense of fullness to your life. And perhaps remove any lingering doubt or misgivings you might have. Having your purpose firmly grounded, everything else flows smoothly and almost effortlessly. No doubt, we are all unique with varied interests and multifaceted abilities and talents. Nevertheless, we all might agree on this issue. Come and discover your true-life purpose and begin building your life on solid spiritual principles.
In this lesson, we will explore desire and what it brings to your life. We all have hopes , aspirations, dreams, things we want to accomplish , but perhaps we focus too much on outcomes, and not your connection with Spirit ? When your heart is centered in the consciousness of God, your desires are always fulfilled, because God desires only good for you. Let's begin living in the heart of desire and allowing only the good to rain down in your life
When you can learn to release the old ideas from your past , you are opening the pathway for your Spiritual Growth . These can be old thoughts, as well as old behavior patterns and beliefs . Our third Unity Principle. "The thoughts and beliefs we hold in mind create our experiences "
Releasing the past might be difficult for some. These old beliefs are embedded in the subconscious mind. With practice , we can discover a new way of being and letting go will be a start toward a fresh spiritual experience .
Can our human desire of validation, acceptance and approval hinder us from our true divine nature? So often we allow our conditioned self and other’s opinions to keep us from expressing as our true, authentic self. Cultivating a trusting relationship with God can help move us past any perceived, mortal limitation.
Has life led you to feeling out of sync? When we feel we have gotten caught up in a sense of dis-ease, we have the innate ability to return to the ease and flow of life. Beyond appearances, there is the fundamental Reality of Wholeness in each of us. As we learn to love Wholeness, Love works to harmonize all that seems out of order into divine synchronicity.
“A Simple Service : Prayer and meditation”
In this service we will slow down and allow the Presence to wash over you. Simple prayer and meditation are the keys to your success. We get so busy with life, and all the comings and goings of life events. This Sunday, come casual, and release your cares and worries of the world. Be in the Presence of pure Being , immersed in the love and wisdom of Spirit. If you want to dance, dance. If you want to sing, sing. If you want to clap hands, clap. Allow yourself to let go and Be , be who you truly are ! One in Spirit.
I had never heard of affirmative prayer before coming to Unity. Honestly, I thought it sounded kinda weird , but I’ve since learned it is very practical . It is about confirming the truth , that you are one with God and therefore your prayers are sacred . Make the connection with Source(God) in your mind and state your prayer with power . Release the outcome knowing your good is on its way to you. Come and see firsthand your UOW prayer chaplains use this process in action. Be the first to pray with them and receive their blessing. You are invited to attend this special Unity World Day of Prayer Sunday!
This month we are talking about spiritual practices that will help you on the path toward awakening or enlightenment.( Enlightenment is a path not a destination). Practicing the Presence is all about being aware , aware of your breath , your thoughts, and your attention. Where does your attention go when you are at work, or at play or at rest? Where is your focus? This practice dovetails with mindfulness ; you might say it is mindfulness. Let's have some fun discovering the benefits of presence and mindfulness. You might be pleasantly surprised how much this practice will improve your daily life.
We’re all on a journey. We are at different stages and different states, but isn’t it better to be doing it with friends? Let’s explore, through a metaphysical lens, how being in community we support each other’s receptivity to a life full of abundance -- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, forgiveness, compassion, humility -- and an awakening awareness of the glory within.
Oneness is foundational to Unity New Thought, however, I wonder how many of us practice living from our Oneness ? In this lesson, we will explore the spiritual truth that we are all one, and moreover, we are one within ourselves and Spirit. When we awaken to our Oneness , we can finally release and let go of the expectations we have for ourselves and others. Life begins to flow , like a brook into a pond ( Spirit ) .
Giving and receiving are essentially two sides of the same coin. In the metaphysical approach to prosperity, giving and receiving are essential to becoming prosperous. The affirmative attitude is constantly saying “yes” to life and God’s divine ideas. With such an attitude, you will become truly prosperous. Even if you are not concerned with material wealth, you will experience prosperity of the very highest order. You will be free from financial worries and thoughts of lack.

Have you ever loved someone and not liked them? Let's talk about what it's like to have those feelings. Somewhere in all of this, what comes up for me is unconditional love and guess what ... We've Got Power. Power is one of the aspects of God, like Love, they are our birthright, we came with those pearls of great price and many more. I look forward to being with you on July 28th to share with you what I've been learning about these two spiritual powers of man!
As we journey along the spiritual path, a vast array of possibilities unfold before us. However, as these endless opportunities present themselves, the path we walk paradoxically becomes narrower.
Letting go and letting God is a constant practice, a moment to moment meditation that requires us to not cling and to be present. To access our divinity fully, we learn to trust the natural unfolding of creation over our personal desires.
ou have been created in the spiritual image and likeness of the Creator. You are beautiful by design! Unity Principle #2 reminds us: “I am naturally good because God’s Divinity is in me and in everyone.” Tracy Brown is back, with a reminder that beauty is not limited to what we see in movies and marketing. Beauty is not defined by what we see when we look in the mirror. Our true beauty shines through when we commit to living as an example of God’s Divine Intention.
“Walk Boldly in Faith” Have you determined your possibilities based on the past or outer conditions? Most often, life is lived from the perspective of what we know at the level of experience. Unity teachings inspire us to create our lives from the unformed, yet unseen possibilities. We do this by activating our divine power of Faith. Join Rev. Jeanmarie Eck as she shares about your divine potential to “take up your mat and walk” boldly in faith.
Broadcasted 6/30/24 10:55am - 6/30/24 12:02pm
It’s human to want to cling, but divine consciousness knows better. Like the seed dropping from the plant into the soil, when we open ourselves and give freely, abundance pervades for us and all we encounter.
We all have fathers , but maybe your mother did your father's job in his absence , or perhaps a grandparent or a surrogate father . Perhaps you were fortunate and experienced unconditional love from your dad. It's time for us to do our forgiveness work if we harbor any ill feelings toward our fathers. This morning we will touch on some challenging issues around fatherhood , and talk about the relationship we had with our fathers . Some of us blurred our relationship with God and our human fathers. Together we can clarify our relationship with God and with our fathers . This morning we will begin to live with a clearer understanding of a Father's love, and become vulnerable to taking in His Love for Us !
As spiritual beings it is essential that we learn the power of spiritual truth and live it as best we can. What we communicate to ourselves, and what we accept being communicated from the outside world, is crucial to our peace and happiness. It is a necessity that we learn the ways to distinguish the true from the false and be free.
"What we are all more or less lacking at this moment is a new definition of holiness."
- Teilhard de Chardin
Have you ever noticed how adept your mind is at labeling every experience? Almost instantaneously, things are labeled as good/bad, welcome/unwelcome, and on and on... Over time, we start to filter life through these labels, obscuring our view of the beauty and sacredness that are alive and present in every moment. We can begin to lose our sense of optimism. Expectancy gets replaced with anxiety and we trade our wonder for worry. The antidote? Invite a sense of awe and wonder into your life and experience the sacredness that is here for you; right here, right now.
Spirituality isn’t about being content when you get what you want, or don’t get what you don’t want. It’s about being able to handle the outer and inner energies, no matter what they throw at you, from a peaceful and centered state.
Most of us live our lives day to day trying to do our best . We greet each day with energy and enthusiasm to do our jobs and fulfill our roles , such as parent , partner, worker, or friend. This is all good, however, beneath the surface lies our connection with Spirit, the origin of our lives. In this lesson, we will explore your origin and discuss how you can reconnect with a deep practical understanding of your oneness with nature and God.
Let’s take this time together to connect with the creativity, intuition, and compassion that is the divine feminine. Whether our earthly mothers are in our lives or not—we recognize the loving presence that surrounds and nurtures our growth and well being.
Finding joy in a world of struggle can seem impossible. We may find ourselves ignoring the difficulties we face as humans in order to endure. When we face challenges, how do we handle ourselves? Do we revert back to old ways that worked before? Do we just grin and bear it? Do we just pretend that we are “fine?” Join Rev. Judy as we explore spiritual principles as we live in the now.
New Beginnings are exciting , and they can be scary for some of us ! What lies ahead after a new beginning? What will your life be like ?
We will look at new beginnings, and hopefully discover how you can feel confident in your new beginning, knowing all things are working together to assure your success . You may have had many new beginnings in your life ; did you experience the spiritual transformation which came with the new beginning ? New beginnings are the last phase in a three step process involving transformation. Let's talk Sunday about the transformation process and how you can have a successful new beginning whatever the circumstances may be.
In the New Testament, Jesus changed the understanding of Divine Law when he said, “Blessed are you if you do, “ which was a stark juxtaposition of “You’ll be punished if you don’t.” Adopting an attitude of appreciation and gratitude in all things this life has to offer will enrich us spiritually, emotionally and physically.
At the core of our Unity teachings lies the Truth that each of us has agency on the path of healing and transformation. Affirmative prayer and meditation are powerful practices that help us discard the unreal and discover the sacred. What happens when we have affirmed, and spoken, and done ALL the right things, and our perfect outcome still hasn't shown up? Is it time to do more? Try harder? Or could it be that this moment is asking us to open our hearts to grace?
We welcome a solar eclipse on Monday but we know there are two types of eclipses: solar (sun) and lunar (moon). An eclipse is an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination. Spiritually, metaphysically and scientifically there is an absence of light from Source to the observer (us). Unity's 12 Powers teaches that Understanding comes through the heart and not the mind. There is never an absence of God but once we allow the illusion of absence through "interfering passages (busybodies)" we create a Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Jesus’s death and resurrection is the ultimate example of Divine Consciousness. When we tap into the Christ and awaken to spiritual truth, we too are able to rise above limiting beliefs, habits and actions and transcend what binds us.
We can cultivate a practice that turns on the endless source-energy of our divine humanity. Let’s use the acronym of S.A.F.E.T.Y. . to explore how we can use our senses, our awareness, our faith, our emotions, and our presence to remind us of our true nature as spiritual beings.
"The spiritual path in Unity is always expanding. Have you had a mystical experience; many of us have. What exactly is a mystical experience and what do you make of them? How do you understand what the significance of the experience is? In this lesson, we will delve into the common characteristics and significance of the mystical experience. What if you have not had such an experience? What can you do to be prepared for one, so you do not miss it when it comes along. Join Rev. John as he describes the mystical element within Unity and how you can grow from applying mysticism in your life.
If you’ve ever prayed in desperation, chances are you have learned that times of deep trouble might be our greatest opportunities to discover our deepest spiritual capacities! How to trust during distressing circumstances? How to thrive when weakened by disillusionment? This and more about the pivotal power of prayer!
Each person’s thumbprint is unique. The same is true for each person’s soul print. We are here to experience life in a unique and wonderful way.
The Universal law in every ending is a new beginning. Cultivating a relationship with this reality will open new pathways to divine healing and endless possibilities

Have you ever felt like you couldn’t possibly carry a heavy burden any farther? When we turn inward to Divine Strength and practice self-care, we find that the load is much easier to bear. We also have the ability to accept help, and to assist others along the way. Let’s remember to upgrade our luggage, lighten the load, and enjoy our travel companions on the best road trip ever…our lives!
Joy is not a fleeting emotion or an elusive experience.
Joy is the space within you that is so vast, so profound in its wholeness, that even a mere glimpse of it is a fulfillment of your purpose on this planet. Together we explore how we can invite a greater experience of joy into our relationships, our work, and our creative endeavors.
As spiritual beings, all of us, consciously or unconsciously have a destination on trip Earth that we are traveling toward. It is not a state in the union, but a state of Being. Whether we call it a road or path, it has its forks, various twists and turns, and ups and downs, that we must navigate. Among the many choices are; the road less traveled, most traveled, and best traveled. I hope to make clear the state we are moving toward and the road to choose.
You know when you know and you know when you don’t know, but what has to be in place for you to be sure? There are a few simple questions and techniques to ask yourself when you are faced with a big decision.

Smack in the middle of the word Faith, there is an I, which means you are in charge of what, how and when you call God into your life. The more you can give your life over to the divine, the greater the manifestations of your co-creation will be. With Michael Finn.
There is a Divine Conspiracy guiding our lives. When we surrender our egoic attachments, we unite with the one cosmic consciousness- empowering us to embrace selfless action. Join us Sunday as we investigate how we can activate the good that is constantly happening on our behalf.

The act of trying to escape the self usually just mars the gifts of the present, but practicing the art of radical acceptance of the moment can lead us on a path of enlightenment, grace, and ultimately joy.

When life happens and the heat feels a bit much, do you sense a power outage? How does our human personality- power sometimes make it seem like there is a disconnect. A power outage, one might say. Let's dig deep and explore the Power of Power.

Richard Newsum is a charter member of this congregation who will share his experience growing up as the only child of Unity ministers. Their ministry to spread Unity's message stretched from New York to British Columbia and south to Texas. Richard's father served as President of the Unity Minister's Association, was a trustee of the Fillmore Foundation and a founding trustee of the Association of Unity Churches known today as Worldwide Unity Ministries. In 1953, his mother and father started what was first called Christ Church Unity and is today, Unity of Houston. Please join us as Richard relates his unique Unity journey, describes some of the lesser-known aspects of Unity's early years in Texas and provides an overview of the enduring value of Unity teachings.

Finding joy of life doesn't mean that we will not have hardship, as we discover more joy, we can face suffering in a way that in no bulls rather than in bitters. This is adapted from Archbishop Tutu and Dalai XIV, the book of Joy. In James 1:2 supports this as we read: My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy. This Sunday we'll look into finding establishing joy in the midst of this world.
With Rev. Sondra Von Gyllenband
A Course in Miracles describes the “holy instant” as an "interval in time" where we completely open ourselves to the presence of the Holy Spirit, becoming receptive to the awareness of love's presence. In this “holy instant,” peace, love and transformative miracles become possible in our lives. The purpose of ACIM is to help us “remove the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence”. The “holy instant” is where we experience the accomplishment of that purpose. Is there a teachable strategy to experiencing the “holy instant”? A secret we can employ to practice? The answer is yes. But, the secret strategy may surprise you.

As the Easter season has completed its cycle, let’s review the mystical movement from Palm Sunday to Pentecost Sunday as we prepare ourselves for the receiving of the Holy Spirit. Matthew Fox says “Whether the story of the Good Samaritan or the teaching that others, especially the needy, are other Christs, it is clear that Jesus’ teaching is indeed trying to stretch our meaning and practice of love and compassion.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we bless all of the people in our lives who have nurtured and cared for us. The gifts of the mother are expressed in visibly active ways, including encouragement, the sharing of wisdom, and guidance. As powerful and necessary as these activities are, we can also experience the divine feminine in ways of being, such as allowing, non-interference, and acceptance. As we trust and allow the divine feminine to express itself as us, we embody a generosity of spirit that comes with the realization that nothing gets left undone.
We are apertures through which the universe is exploring itself. Taking a closer look at the God that resides in us and in all things is the key to a lasting, enriched, and fulfilling experience in our own journey.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Don’t kiss and tell”, well in another context that may be appropriate. However, when it comes to practicing principles that are intended to improve the quality of our lives wouldn’t you want to tell everyone! This week we will explore how one principle and four practices can improve our lives in such a way that we will want to tell everyone so that we live in a world truly meant for everyone!” With Rev. Maggie Alderman
Synergy is the combination of two or more elements working together to create a result that is greater than the sum of their individual parts. When we approach life with a synergistic mindset, we open ourselves up to new possibilities and opportunities for growth and transformation. By working together and leveraging our unique strengths, we can make a positive impact on the world and achieve far more than we ever could alone. With Rev. Sondra Von Gullenband.
According to the Bible, the peace of God, “which transcends all understanding,” is the harmony and calmness of body, mind, and spirit. Thich Nhat Hanh wrote a book and titled it: “Peace is Every Step,” Ghandhi reminded us: "There is no way to peace. Peace is the way." Let’s explore how we can bring peace into our lives and contribute to more peace in the world. If you are ready to end the pain that comes with anxiety, worry, fear, judgment, and doubt, you don’t want to miss this Sunday. Tracy Brown is back with a consciousness-raising message for everyone, plus warm hugs for people attending in-person.
The story of Easter is fantastical and full of mysticism. Examining the Easter miracle can help us distill the message of Christ’s story into an everyday guidepost to enrich our lives, overcome obstacles and reach our highest potential. With Michael Finn.
Palm Sunday recalls the historic event of Jesus entering Jerusalem and being greeted with audible "hosannas" from the crowds who paved the path into the city with palm leaves before him. Metaphysically, the "hosanna" and the "palm leaves" represent an awareness and recognition of the divine Christ Presence that Jesus embodied. In the words of Eric Butterworth, Jesus was not the "great exception," he was the "great example" that celebrates the Divine Christ Potential in us all. With Rick Busby, LUT
Can we welcome the light and benefit from the dark? Our earth turns away from its source of light every 24 hours. What happens in the darkness? Is life a dream or a puzzle or both? Perhaps we can find ways to make our darkness a source of fertility and creativity so that our light can shine-not burn. Featuring Margie Barlow.
"Dominion & Non-Resistance" Mastery over our lives is an ever-evolving aspect of spiritual growth. The quiet confidence we gain by determining how we respond to life reveals possibilities and potential on our path. We practice acceptance and letting life flow through us. We experience the gift of choice as life-affirming dominion over that which is within our power, even as we let go of that which is not.
On this first Sunday of Lent, our Unity Lenten guide says, “We are always in the stark and beautiful movement of letting go of one thing, thought, or situation while being set free to a more excellent, deeper, and more expansive experience of ourselves.” This gives the Lenten season a more generous purpose than our old conditioning of it being a time of deprivation. While letting go is a personal act, we are strengthened by supporting each other as we do so.
With Michael Finn: We all have that thing that takes us out of the richness and appreciation of the moment. Trauma can limit and block us from being the best version of ourselves. Quieting the “it” can facilitate our life’s purpose and bring us closer to God.
If there has ever been time for which the quality of compassion should be activated, it is now! Compassion is that inherent sense of identification with and care for other living beings. It is an aspect of loving that extends itself without judgement, and finds its expression in prayer and powerful action. Compassion is the antidote to self-absorption and narrow thinking. It makes all things whole.
Unity was founded on the principle of affirmative prayer, and prayer worksin all situations and circumstances. Many of you know the story of co-founder Myrtle Fillmore’s experience of healing chronic tuberculosis through prayer. But what does healing prayer mean to us today? Too oftenwe have equated healing with cure---an assumption that leads to confusion and disappointment. We will explore the many aspects of healing, while keeping in mind that prayer is one consistent in our spiritual journey and growth.
What does being rich mean to you---is it material wealth, good health, fulfilling relationships? Rich and abundant prosperity is about all of these things, and more! When we understand the nature of Divine Substance and our ability to work in harmony with it, our lives are rich beyond measure. Are you ready for a "Prosperous Lifestyle?"
Today our community joins in the Annual Meeting, one of the most important dates in our calendar. It is an opportunity for you to exercise your wisdom, discernment, and membership vote on important issues for the year ahead. We remember Power as a gift of Spirit that elevates our decision-making. It brings purpose from our mind through our hands. When we invoke Power that is magnified in and through each other, our mutual direction is clear and strong! are becoming if we stay focused on our spiritual growth.
Even as we understand that we are powerless over conditions and circumstances, it can feel overwhelming when the focus of conversation is on the chaos. With commitment over time, we can T.R.U.S.T. Happy New Year! On this first day of the new year, centered in God, we create a fresh new life. In Unity tradition on the first Sunday after Christmas, we perform our Burning Bowl ceremony that allows us to shift our consciousness. During this ceremony, in prayer, we identify thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors which we choose to release. We will write these things down and place them into the fireplace after the service. We open ourselves up to the power of inspiration, insight, wisdom, and love. We begin this year with joy and a new perspective.
All stories that touch us have universal elements. It matters not the characters or culture; they all reflect our personal hero’s journey and all of the feelings that make the story rich and meaningful. Today, the Christmas story reminds us of humble beginnings and magnificent purposes. We are all those characters!
Today’s Daily Word tells us that inner joy is the foundation of irrepressible strength and fortitude. Did you ever put these words together in this way? Isn’t it interesting that we are stronger and more resilient when joy leads our way? This is not to say that we must always be happy, especially in a season in which happiness is fleeting. No, joy is a richer quality, one that embraces and accepts ALL of life as it is, doing what is ours to do and leaning upon Spirit to show the way. There is mystery and uncertainty in joy, for sure, but there is also radiant splendor. Follow that star!
Today’s Daily Word says that love is a noun and a verb. This implies that Love is not only an inherent spiritual quality that we possess; it is also a call for us to ACT in the world as beings of love. As we move through this holy season, how are we practicing our Love gift? Where is it easy, and where is it challenging? How do we contribute Love in our personal lives and on a global scale? Let’s take ourselves into a higher Love vibration through this season and beyond.
Getting in touch with the child that resides in each of us can lead us on a path of exploration, adventure and foster a deeper relationship with the Christ consciousness.
We all know from 1 Corinthians that "Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." Our former Spiritual Leader, Mendhi Audlin returns this week to initiate the holiday season by activating the power of HOPE as the place of transformational beginnings and ever-expanding growth.
You may be looking forward to a traditional—-or non-traditional!—-meal this holiday, but consider two elements that together make Thanksgiving even better: grace and gratitude. By now we have learned that gratitude every day is a key to a healthy spiritual life. And grace is a subtle but glorious gift to be both received and given. It is that aspect of Spirit that forgives, that does not insist upon “punishment equal to transgression.” Together, gratitude and grace infuse our earthly existence with transcendence
Billy Millwee will share with us how his life has been shaped by intention, whether intentional or unintentional, and how that way of being has brought his life into a sharper focus. He will also share how intentions led to a relationship with the non-profit grassroots peace movement “Healing Across the Divides” and its founder Norbert Goldfield. M.D.
When you think of a mountain, what qualities come to mind? Sometimes mountains are intimidating and scary. Sometimes they are beautiful and inspiring. Tracy reminds us we can only manifest miracles when we are so clear about what we want that we refuse to be distracted, discouraged or denied. With Dr. Tracy Brown.
To manifest something new you must think and act differently. Whatever you set your sights on will be supported. You can climb any mountain once you choose which mountain to focus on and start preparing for your success. When you explore life and find yourself, your miracles cannot be denied
What would your life be like if you truly believed the Universe is always conspiring for your best and highest good? Tracy shares the metaphysical definition for a miracle and the most important thing you must know to manifest more miracles in your life. WIth Dr. Tracy Brown, RScP
When we perceive lack, or if things feel awry in our lives, often we are focusing on the outcome an not being one with the present. Getting underneath the results and examining our relationship to the divine can be powerful medicine for creating wholeness and living an optimal and abundant life” With Michael Finn.
We all have our own song and our own dance. Are you allowing divine creative energy the freedom to dance in yours? Do you want to lead or can you release your will to have a more beautiful experience with Spirit in charge. With Rev. Sondra Von Gyllenband.
Life is packed with ordinary and unimagined experiences. Join Rev. Jen as she shares spiritual principles and practices we can apply on a personal level that can create a ripple effect in the world, and learn how you can reframe life’s interruptions and create new opportunities.

Authors have written about it. John Lennon sang about it. Imagine a world in which we are attuned to each other, in perfect harmony, and all needs are met. Even better, each person knows their intrinsic worth and is always connected to the Divine. This may sound unrealistic and, in our lifetime, achieving that goal may seem impossible. But that does not stop us from our contribution toward an instinctively spiritual global family. Are you ready to jump in?
Exploring how identification with our stories may be masking the truth of our identity and blocking our bliss. To "Know Thyself" is simply to REMEMBER correctly. This will be an adventurous recounting of the human condition and the clever constraints we unwittingly adopt.
Far too often we get wrapped up in what people think of us, or how we’ll be remembered, that we forget to just be. Feelings of lack, or concern of judgments keep us from the gold…and the God that is within us. Finding the ability to look past our temporal expectations and having the grace to live in the moment, from moment to moment, allows us to leave a lasting impact. your purpose and passion? Do you have a little fear about letting the real You come out to play in all its magnificence? Let’s draw courage from each other!
To build on last week’s talk on Gratitude and how we define God, this week let’s explore the expression of our Divine Purpose and how we choose to be the embodiment of the God-essence. Are you always in touch with your purpose and passion? Do you have a little fear about letting the real You come out to play in all its magnificence? Let’s draw courage from each other!
A consistent practice of finding things for which we are grateful opens the way for a richer life experience. Our attitude becomes more generous, and life’s burdens become lighter. And if we want to experience God’s abundance, gratitude is the starting point—-not just the afterthought.
In Unity, we teach that there is “only One Power and One Presence, active in the Universe and in our lives.” One “source” of all creative power, and all energetic presence. The “One Source” of all substance, ideas, truth, life, and most importantly, love. While there is "one Source" for all Love, there are an infinite number of seemingly different expressions of love in the world. Yet, as A Course In Miracles teaches, all acts of love are maximal, they are not a matter of degree. All love is the same "One Love," no matter how it may appear. With Rick Busby, LUT
Our beliefs tend to be abstract and seemingly distant, but we have the power to enrich our lives and those around us by integrating them into action in our everyday waking life.
Any spiritual path or examined life requires a surrender to God. Does your toolset include the simple Serenity Prayer? We will discuss this powerful 3-part prayer and its application in our lives.
Dee Rambeau and Abby Vascek met 6 years ago as co-hosts of the Breakfast Taco morning show on KWVH. Now together they host “Friday Far Side” from 7-9 every Friday on 94.3 Wimberley Valley Radio.
They talk all things wellness and spiritual on their program. With their shared background in recovery from alcohol and drugs they’re curious about how people live their best and most healthy spiritual lives.
Love is one of the most powerful spiritual tools we have. It is so much more than a sentimental emotion---it is an existing gift that deserves to be nurtured and shared. When distorted, love becomes a selfish and self- defeating misuse of the gift. As Brené Brown says, “We need more real love. Gritty, dangerous, wild-eyed, justice-seeking love.” Let’s explore the many faces of love and how to express it.
In 1886, Myrtle Fillmore’s life was forever changed upon hearing the words, “I am a child of God, and therefore do NOT inherit sickness.” Imagine if we believed those words as Myrtle believed them. Picture how our lives and the world be transformed! From Rev. Matt’s miraculous story of healing from cancer in his brain, your spirit will be renewed in the truth that you are a child of God, and therefore you do not inherit sickness or lack.
Generosity is the key to an abundant life and keeps us in the present moment. If you’re not looking for a way to be generous to the world every day, now is a good time to start! It will assure your knowledge of connection to the Divine. And compassion also keeps us in the “here and now,” because it requires us to walk beside another in a spirit of generosity and understanding. It reminds us that we are one human family. If these were the only two divine qualities we were focused upon, we would be on a delightful path!
"Living in a country that has been built on the idea of individual freedom, we experience our own journey through life in a series of transformations—new formations that transcend the old. Looking back on major turning points in your life, what have been important moments (or years) of your own individual transformations?” With Margie Barlow
Under the skin, we are all the same, no matter our culture, color, or religion. It is essential that we learn how truly listen to each other, and to practice non-judgmental, healing transactions. In this, we develop greater compassion as demonstrated to us by the master teachers. And we make our conversations about empathy more than commiseration. This is Christlike behavior.
A spiritual life is merely theoretical until we put action to it. Throughout time and throughout our lives, we have been inspired by masculine energy in humans (regardless of gender) who bring thoughts and ideas into manifestation. They have the strength to lead, create, and protect that which is most sacred. Today we honor masculine energy that we call Father.
“Fostering Spiritual Resiliency: Letting Go of Your Stories and Letting the Light In” Too often we try to ‘force’ ourselves into grace as if it’s something we can attain, when the truth is that it is already in us. By softening and releasing, not clinging and grasping, we strengthen ourselves and our connection to the divine.
From the beginning of our spiritual lineage in the Hebrew Bible, the importance of naming all things has been emphasized. We cannot know who we are or how we feel until we hone our naming skills. Likewise, our ability to create with words (internally and externally) becomes more powerful as we focus consciously on what we wish to see in our lives and in the world.
One of the necessary components of a healthy and abundant life is forgiveness. Sometimes it feels as if forgiveness must be deserved before it can be bestowed. but in Truth, forgiveness for ourselves and others provides freedom to live in harmony, no longer entrapped by resentment or anger. The subtleties of forgiveness move us toward a deeper conversation with our inner guidance and the discovery of the Christ spirit in others.
This Sunday, we’ll explore how abundance abounds in our lives. We’ll look at what Charles Fillmore, Unity’s co-founder, says about Abundance, as well as ways to recognize the abundant bountiful activity of Spirit. We hope you’ll join us as we delve into the abundance of our lives.
It is not possible for us to comprehend all the “faces” of God while we are in human form. However, we do experience many facets of the Divine, one of them being the nurturing, protecting nature that we often find reflected in the natural world. Today we focus on the feminine aspect of God---the one we have experienced in quiet moments of reflection and in those who have sheltered and encouraged us in our lives.
Our prosperity consciousness requires regular “checkups” on our overall health: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It’s good to have a “master health plan!” We will explore best practices for polishing up that plan, and grounding ourselves for any challenge that comes our way. Make sure you’re familiar with your sacred DNA.
“Aho Metaque Oysasin” (to all my relations) I will share knowledge based on this Lakota phrase and explain how everything, and everyone really are truly connected. This is part of a body of work that I have been Blessed to have inspiration from Source, my higher power, Creator gift me with, so that I may share it with the world. The body of work I refer to is known as Contemporary Native Earth Wisdom, or CNEW (sinew), as in the connective tissue of the human body.On this Earth Day weekend we will look at how we can live a conscious life by connecting with everything in our world around us, and in doing so, be a positive influence on our environment, and regain a sense of our own personal power.
The Easter story of resurrection is one that has been examined and discussed for centuries. Along with other religious holidays, however, its meaning is not confined to one day in the calendar. Rather, it carries a daily message of rebirth. Unity confounder Charles Fillmore said, “EVERY time we rise to the realization of eternal, indwelling life, making union with the [God]-Mind, the resurrection of Jesus takes place within us.” If we are practicing the presence of God as often as we can, then we are constantly resurrected! That is the reason we mark Easter---to reaffirm our renewal as a living, breathing part of our lives!
Covering family seders over a 60 year period, I will illustrate the principle of change and how my family has navigated the loss of 2 generations and kept Passover traditions alive. The talk will be chock full of Passover/Seder information and if I don’t lose my nerve, I plan on singing a few Passover songs. And of course, I won’t forget to talk about food.
It has been said that the simplest solution is usually the best. As inherently creative beings living in a universe of infinite possibility, we may tend to over-think and get overwhelmed by all the options we have or get stuck in seeing things only one way. Today, Rev. Kit Holmes offers some handy spiritual tools to help us get and stay focused on what really matters.
Divine Order is neither predestination or imposition. It simply is the organizing principle of everything. Our job is to cooperate with and have faith in Divine Order. Thankfully, we are not confined by the trappings of human existence alone! We have the capability to “go with the flow,” keeping our minds and hearts attuned to God!
“Your Lifelong Compass of Joy” as each of us prepare to bloom into our divine potential, we can ask ourselves “What kind of a flower will I be? The answer is always “Joy” which is our birthright. Let’s join our beloved Margie Barlow as she walks us through some ways to tend our garden of consciousness and follow our inner compass of Joy.nd force” is not necessarily a sign that we are headed in the wrong direction. Rather, it can point us toward a greater trust in the Truth we follow, the light that guides our way. Light strengthens and sustains us as we move forward!
The Light of Truth” In this second Sunday of Lent, we remember that renewed commitment to our spiritual growth can sometimes result in uncomfortable feelings or unexpected events. This “chemicalization” or “second force” is not necessarily a sign that we are headed in the wrong direction. Rather, it can point us toward a greater trust in the Truth we follow, the light that guides our way. Light strengthens and sustains us as we move forward!
This is the first Sunday in Lent. Hopefully your ideas and inspirations about how you want to mark this season have already begun. As the Daily Word for Ash Wednesday says, “As I embark upon my Lenten journey, I am mindful that I’m not trying to become something I’m not. Rather, I am freeing myself to better embody all that I truly am.”
How taking a deep dive in your spiritual faith can bring peace and lead you out of the shallow waters of preconceived limitations
“Ubuntu” is a South African term meaning humanity and is best expressed in the saying " I am because you are". Nelson Mandela often spoke about this philosophy and recognized that we are all bound together in ways that are invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity that we achieve by sharing with others and caring for those around us.
We think of “dominion” as implying “domination.” To the contrary, dominion is not asserting our will over another. Rather, it is taking full responsibility over our own thoughts, words, and actions. As long as we are doing this, we can let others live as they will. This holds significant weight for us---it lends dignity to our lives, connects us with our highest intention and purpose, and it keeps us out of drama with others.
The Daily Word affirmation for today is an “inside job” that benefits the entire planet: I envision all people living in harmony. This is a lofty goal by human standards, but in the spiritual realm, it is attainable step-by-step. We make a difference with this one-sentence meditation, adding to the energy of world peace by thought, word, and action
Today is important in the life of Unity of Wimberley, as our Annual Meeting revisits the past year and envisions the year ahead. We remember our roots in the Unity movement, which had its humble, yet noble, origin in praying for others. Everything that we do as individuals and as a spiritual community begins with beholding others in and as the Christ presence. Prayer is a simple process that unifies us all and is available to all.
Join us as we celebrate this holy season together and in person! The whole family is welcome to this candlelight service. Merry Christmas!
As the sound team leader, over the past few week, I have missed the beginning of some of these performances during our Christmas season live streams. So I have put them together.
Joy is an inherent quality of God we have access to at all times – but only to the degree we believe we can have it. We experience “heaven on earth” when we realize and accept that we are individualized expressions of the Divine. What would our lives (and the world) look like if we chose to believe that Spirit is always ready to express Itself as joy through us and as us?
The power of Love lives in us. It transcends personality, negativity, and our current state of mind! Love is a choice we make, a choice to express what is already present and inspired by God. We choose to be the magnetizing, creative element that binds us to each other, to the earth, and to the universe. We love in our thoughts, words, and actions, knowing that Spirit has endowed us with an endless wellspring. Let us explore the ways Love expresses through us.
We often think that peace comes to us when all the conditions are just right for it to occur. In spiritual growth, we realize that peace can be a choice we make DESPITE the outer circumstances. We remember that God IS peace and that peace is an inherent quality of our being as well. Let us “choose peace” in this season and in all the ones to come, knowing that it is God’s ever-present gift.
This is the first Sunday of Advent, Christmas only weeks away! What better time, with our hearts filled with gratitude, for us to renew our faith and embrace hope. The “Season of Lights” warms us especially this year, when last year was so quiet an isolated. We begin the season by looking to those qualities which bring us life and prepare us for the Christmas celebration.
“The word grace means “favor.” Why are you favored as a child of God? Simply because you are the activity of God expressing himself as you.” ~ Eric Butterworth Truly accepting and embodying this truth is the underlying impetus of our spiritual journey. The grand adventure of life is to be willing to trust that grace will accompany us every step of the way
It’s easy to affirm Divine Order when things work out the way WE planned! It’s a little more challenging when our plans go awry or if we can’t see a clear path forward. This does not mean Divine Order has abandoned us---quite the opposite. Faith is the engine that keeps our momentum focused, knowing that everything has its season. Divine Order is as constant as the phases of the moon, always at work even when it is not visible.
Could it be that we are preparing for the emergence of something new and different in life on this precious planet? Remembering back to March of the year 2020 when the 34th annual edition of South by Southwest was canceled, we were officially ushered into a long spell of stressful change in our world. Coping with Covid 19 and staying alive became the new dedication of body, mind, and spirit for us humans. This talk will offer seven principles that might be helpful in managing the stress of living in the time of a world wide pandemic.
It is best asked by Teilhard de Chardin: “A fresh kind of life is starting. In the face of such an upheaval, actually shaken by it, no one can remain indifferent. Swept along by the tide of affairs, what can we do to see clearly and act decisively?” His observation and question are as relevant now as when he wrote them in the mid-20th century. Let’s explore our answer!
An African proverb reminds that “alone we can go faster, together we can go further.” While the work to grow spiritually is uniquely and solely ours to do, we don’t ever really do it alone. This week, as we prepare for a H.U.G. (Help Unity Grow) meeting, let’s investigate how we – individually and collectively – engage with our spiritual community.
