This week the gang Mikey, Evan and Anders are back to answer listener questions on the big new rule changes and how they might affect the Mariners. First off the gang digs deep into the Mariners two young, star pitchers: George Kirby and Logan Gilbert. Both have had encouraging starts as of late, but they are trending very differently despite similar effective results. What do we make of it all and whom do we believe in? We have the answers. Next the gang looks at the new ruleset that might be going into practice which includes the pitch clock, some moderate restrictions on the shift, bigger bases and the minor league players union being newly represented by the MLBPA. The Mariners are super hot fire, sporting the best offense in the majors. Yes indeed, the Mariners lead the league in wRC+, BB% and offensive WAR over the first couple weeks. The sample size may be small, our enthusiasm is growing by the hour. Is the offense for real? Is 2019 Tom Murphy back? Is Julio improving steadily at the plate? Does Jarred look improved in the field? Is this the most fun Mariners team in twenty years?
