Carmen Bohn is a fibre artist and creative entrepreneur who lives, works and plays in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her fibre art focuses on creating colourful and textural art yarns on one of her many spinning wheels and then using those yarns to make freeform knit, crochet objects and woven tapestries. She likes to reclaim and upcycle textiles and household waste that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. She is the Founder and Executive Artistic Director of indie opera company Loose Tea Music Theatre where she creates “genre defying” productions that center on critical social issues and cross-cultural relationships. Not afraid to break all the rules, she collaborates with DJ's, projection artists, choreographers and filmmakers: “The stunning originality of Viau’s vision…grip the imagination.” – Opera Going Toronto. Alaina is a queer disabled artist seeking a new framework for safe and compassionate creation processes that decolonize and dismantle hierarchical practices. The 19-20 season saw Alaina DORA nominated for Outstanding New Opera and won a Canada Council for the Arts Professional Development Grant to work with Ashlie Corcoran at the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver. Along with assisting Ashlie on stage, Alana worked to develop a framework for cognitive disabilities in Arts Leaderships and has continued that work with leading disabled artists in other performing arts fields.
Alaina was Resident Director at Toronto City Opera for the 18-19 season, and Artistic Director of Ottawa indie company SOPAC for 2 seasons. She has a background in arts admin, producing and production having previously been the Assistant Production Manager at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Opera and Orchestra Manager at the Royal Conservatory of Music.

LuAna’s Bookshelf is an organization dedicated to helping children in developing countries access education when they otherwise may not be able to. In 2016, Heidi-Marie Jones backpacked the world in search of underfunded, impoverished schools that were in dire need of financial support. Once a school that fits the above-mentioned criteria was discovered, its students and Heidi immediately got to work in what has proven to be an effective and sustainable means of fundraising.
This is achieved by working directly with the students to create, publish, and ultimately market a storybook unique to the culture of the children who created it. With profits from each copy sold donated back to the school, a sense of pride and accomplishment is instilled in the students who feel they have participated in something meaningful that benefits their school and, ultimately, their community.
