Walker Howard is a 5-star quarterback prospect for the Class of 2022 from St Thomas More High School in Lafayette. Howard is an LSU verbal commitment and the ringleader of the Tigers 2022 recruiting class, in terms of landing new recruits and making sure the current commits stay committed. His father Jamie played quarterback for STM and LSU as well.
Hannah Storm is an award-winning journalist, producer and director, is a pioneer in the field of sports broadcasting for women, a published author, an advocate for children suffering from debilitating vascular birthmarks, and most importantly, a mother of three. Storm, joined ESPN in 2008 and currently serves as an ESPN SportsCenter anchor. She also leads the network’s coverage of significant events across the sports world such as the recent celebration of life services after the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. She also previously hosted and executive produced ESPN’s primetime interview specials - In Focus with Hannah Storm and Face to Face with Hannah Storm - where she interviewed various newsmakers in sports. In 2018, Storm made sports broadcasting history once again when she, along with veteran sports broadcaster Andrea Kremer, became the first female duo to call a NFL game as part of Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football. The duo is set to embark on calling their fourth season of NFL games for Amazon in 2021. Prior to ESPN, Storm had successful TV stints at CBS as host of The Early Show, CNN and NBC Sports. In 2008, Storm added to her creative passions with the creation of Brainstormin’ Productions, a production company that creates documentaries, short films and branded content. Recent projects include Danica, a documentary in conjunction with EPIX on racing superstar Danica Patrick that won an honor at New York Film Festival award, and content for brands such as Under Armour and Secret. Also in 2008, she launched the Hannah Storm Foundation which advocates for children and parents of children suffering from debilitating vascular birthmarks. Storm’s passion for this cause stems from her personal experience with it: she was born with a port wine stain underneath her left eye.

Brossette’s first three years at LSU were frustrating, but his patience finally paid of in 2018, as he rushed for 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Tigers would go on to a10-3 record that season, win The Fiesta Bowl and finish ranked No. 6 in the country. These days Brossette has returned to UHigh where he is an assistant coach.

Bradie James is one of the great linebackers in LSU football history. Playing with the Tigers from 1999-2002, James was an first team All-American selection by three different publications and established an LSU single-season record by making 154 tackles during his senior year. James has also been a tremendous philanthropist for many years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight cancer, as his mother Etta James passes away due to breast cancer over two decades ago. James just donated $50,000 to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, which will go towards funding free screenings for people across the state, in particular those in James’ hometown of Monroe.
Michael Clayton is an LSU all-time great and without question one of the most important recruits in Tigers’ history. The Baton Rouge native and former Christian Life star was pivotal in turning around the LSU program under former head coach Nick Saban, as the Tigers won the 2003 BCS national championship, along with SEC titles in 2001 and in 2003. Clayton finished with 182 career receptions, just one short of Wendell Davis’ all-time record of 183. He was a first team All-SEC selection and made several All-American teams as well. Clayton enjoyed an 8-year career in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2011.
Jack Hunt was a starting safety on LSU's 2003 national championship team, before spending a couple of years in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins and his former college head coach Nick Saban. Hunt shares many great memories and stories from his LSU career, along with his thoughts on the Tigers rough 2020 season defensively and what lies ahead this fall.
Scott Hessel is the drummer for the multi-platinum musical act Gin Blossoms. The Gin Blossoms have sold millions of albums behind smash hits like “Hey Jealously,” “Found Out About You,” “Follow You Down,” “Allison Road,” “Until I Fall Away” and “Til I Hear It From You.” The band first it it big nearly 30 years ago and continue to tour before big crowds and loyal fans.

T-Bob Hebert was an offensive lineman with the LSU Tigers from 2007-2011. These days he's one of Baton Rouge's most colorful sports personalities, with a great love for Dungeons and Dragons and other fictional fantasies.

Jacques sits down with LSU football legend Eddie Fuller. In October 1988, the Tigers were locked in a defensive battle with the No. 4 Auburn Tigers. Auburn had only mustered two field goals the entire game, while holding LSU scoreless. With less than two minutes left in the fourth quarter, LSU quarterback Tommy Hodson found Eddie Fuller in the back of the end zone for the game-winning touchdown. The stadium went so nuts, so crazy, and got so loud that it actually registered an earthquake. That rivalry game is now famously known as “The Earthquake Game.

LSU formally introduced Jay Johnson as the new head coach of the LSU baseball team at Alex Box Stadium on Monday, June 28.
Johnson called Alex Box the “Yankee Stadium of college baseball,” and emphasized that he’s not rebuilding, just rebooting the Tiger program.
LSU great Justin Vincent shares stories of the Tigers’ 2003 national championship season and his pivotal performances against Georgia in the SEC Championship and then Oklahoma BCS title game. Vincent also reflects on that crazy Christmas of 2004, when head coach Nick Saban announced he was leaving for the NFL, creating great chaos within the team as LSU approached their bowl game against Iowa.

There are few people in the history of LSU athletics with a better resume than Bennie Brazell. The accolades are almost too many to list. But in short, as an athlete, Brazell won national championships with LSU football (2003) and Track & Field (2002 and 2004), before becoming an Olympian in 2004. For the past ten years he’s been an assistant coach for LSU Track & Field under head coach Dennis Shaver and just recently experienced a new high, as the Tiger men won the school’s first Outdoor National Championship since 2002. As track star himself Brazell was a 5-time NCAA Champion, a 14-time NCAA All-American and the school’s record holder in the 400 meter hurdles and 4 x 400 relay. As a wide receiver he was also a 7th round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2006.
LSU softball star Taylor Pleasants is an electric player with the bat and the glove, being named a second team All-American and the SEC Newcomer of the Year for her efforts during the 2021 season. Pleasants started every game for the Tigers this past year, leading the team in home runs (13) and RBI (59). During this conversation Pleasants, who will only be a sophomore next season, shares her thoughts on her faith and how important it is to her life each day. While achieving career LSU statistical milestones would be nice, Pleasants believes impacting young girls in a positive way is more important.
Many people believed it would never happen, but Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Kim Mulkey has taken over as head coach of the LSU Lady Tigers. The Tickfaw, Louisiana native’s resume is astonishing – an Olympic Gold medal winner, two national championships as a player at Louisiana Tech and three national championships as the head coach of the Baylor Bears – are just a few of her numerous accolades. In this lengthy one-on-one, Mulkey discusses many different topics, including why she left Waco for Baton Rouge and what lies ahead at LSU.
Beth Torina was hired a decade ago as LSU's head softball coach, replacing the legendary Yvette Girouard. Not many people knew much about the young lady from Florida International, but she's enjoyed great success leading the Tigers. Torina has reached four Women's College World Series, including three straight - 2015, 2016, 2017. In recent years LSU has had a hard time returning to Oklahoma City, but six straight trips to the NCAA Super Regionals isn't too shabby.
LSU's Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth were named Volleyballmag's College Beach Pair of the Year, headlining its All-America team, as the duo earned their second national pair of the year honor having an undefeated spring. Nuss was also named the National Player of the Year by Volleyballmag. Nuss and Kloth dominated the voting. Four panelists selected Nuss for Player of the Year, while the other two selected Kloth. Kloth and Nuss were named the AVCA Pair of the Year earlier this month and have announced plans to pursue a professional beach volleyball career together. Kloth and Nuss went 36-0 at No. 1. Nuss, a product of New Orleans, is the winningest player in college beach volleyball history with 139 total career victories. She won her last 48 matches for LSU.
Former LSU defensive end “Sonic” Sam Montgomery stopped by WAFB to talk about a number of topics, including recently earning his college degree. Montgomery (2010-2012) was an All-American at LSU and finished his Tiger career with a total of 19 quarterback sacks and 32 tackles for loss.

Temeka Johnson is one of the greatest players in LSU women's basketball history. During her Lady Tigers career from 2001-2005, Johnson was an All-American, won the Nancy Lieberman Award for the nation's top point guard and finished as LSU's and the SEC's all-time leader in assists. LSU made the first two of five straight trips to the Final Four during Johnson's stay, including an incredible Lady Tigers squad that won the SEC with a 14-0 record and finished 33-3 overall during the 2004-2005 season. She was then the No. 6 overall selection in the 2005 WNBA Draft, being named the Rookie of the Year that season before eventually winning a WNBA championship with the Phoenix Mercury in 2009. After playing well over a decade of professional basketball, Temeka is now the head girls basketball coach at John Curtis High School, where the Lady Patriots just won the 2021 Division I state championship.

Davon Godchaux has been featured on WAFB 9Sports since he played high school football in Plaquemine. From there he was a standout defensive lineman for LSU. He just signed a new contract with the New England Patriots, after four years with Miami Dolphins. Jacques caught up with Davon on Zoom to talk about the switch and relive some of those days back in the Bayou State.
In the very proud history of LSU baseball, few did it better than Blake Dean. Dean was one of the deadliest Tiger hitters ever, finishing second in school history in hits (332), RBI (260) and total bases (575), fourth in home runs (56) and fifth in runs scored (223). Thanks largely to his stellar play, LSU reached the College World Series in 2008 and then won the national championship in 2009. These days Dean is the head baseball coach of the UNO Privateers, currently in his sixth season with the school.
