The Thicc Boiis Podcast is a music(ish) podcast hosted by Arturo Fonseca and Mitchell Badman. We're just here for a good time.
Catching up on some releases we missed last episode (apologies going out to Silk Sonic and Parcels) and there's some tours coming our way in 2022. Urthboy has been feeling the Christmas spirit and recently dropped his contribution to your seasonal soundtrack, Jangle Bells.
Triple J's Hottest 100 voting has opened, so get your votes in by the 17th of January. How do you vote? Share your piece of music democracy with us on Instagram @thiccboiispodcast
We also have a hot new discovery (or a rediscovery?) in the form of Toro y Moi, definitely worth a peruse in your weekly Spotify sifting.
And as this is our last episode before Christmas, we want to wish you a merry and safe Christmas and a happy New Year! Thanks for listening and we'll back before you want us to be.
We did it again. An extended hiatus thanks to old chum COVID. But - we're back and boy do we have some big stuff to cover. New releases-a-plenty from Tyler, the Creator, Kanye West, Cleo Sol and plenty more. Did you miss us? Cos we missed us. Welcome back, friends.
Finally it seems like all of the music that was born in the COVID era is finally dropping. It's been a huge news week with Tyler, The Creator, Gang of Youths, John Mayer and a whole hoard more dropping new singles from upcoming albums.
Billie Eilish dropped a new music video - but does it suit the song? John Mayer did too - but is he taking the mickey? Are puffy sleeved blouses cool now? We don't know.
Finally we're back at it with Snacc Attacc, this cracking into another Japanese treat that raises some eyebrows with a tangy taste.

There's been some big releases since our last episode, but none bigger than the middle kid of rap, J. Cole dropping his much awaited album, The Off Season.
The trio known as Czarface have dropped their second collaborative album with the late MF DOOM, which continues their comic-inspired narrative, and John Mayer has new music on the way. Weird mix of artists in one paragraph huh?

In a big news week, Paul McCartney's still going, and Flying Lotus has released a soundtrack for Yasuke, a Netflix anime. Billie Eilish drops the first single from her upcoming album, and Hiatus Kaiyote have dropped the second single from their impending album, which is making Arty feel a little saucy about himself.

From hypebeast plastic bag collecting grandma's to social faux pas, we're discussing some of Arty's recent observations. But don't stress, there's new music to discuss, a well deserved Oscar and potentially a rapper out of retirement?
After an extended summer break, the Thicc Boiis are back. It's a new season with some new segments, and weekly half hour episodes, so you can catch up on music news and whatever other nonsense the guys have been up to.

It seems Arty is running low on Christmas spirit this year and has used the occasion to once again play dirty. Is Mitch bitter about it? Possibly. Chance the Rapper dominates the news, along with Peter Cottontale as the year comes to a close. Pour yourself some 'nog and tuck in, this is a wildly unstructured episode and proof that once again, the Thicc Boiis should be banned form podcasting, but we'll be back in 2021, just you wait. Merry Christmas!
We missed last week's episode because Arty was doing Love Song Dedications, so we're back and have squeezed two Christmas drafts into one episode so we're prepared for our Christmas spectacular next week. Don't get your hopes up, trust us. In better news, Kid Cudi has dropped a new album, as have the Avalanches, and a few artists have been busy pumping out Tiny Desk (at home) concerts.
Brace yourself for a potentially offensive accent, some fresh new music from Young Franco, a Grammy nomination for show favourite Jacob Collier, and the third instalment of the Six Drafts of Christmas. What activities do you and your loved ones get up to on Christmas? It can't be worse than sumo suit charades, that's for sure. And don't stay under the mistletoe too long. To wrap it up we've got a fresh Track to Smack bringing some salsa flavour into the mix.
Listen in as Arty takes the reigns to guide us through a big news week, even breaking in out in song a few times. The Six Drafts of Christmas continue, and we draft 3 Christmas movies each prompting a proper deviation in conversation into 90's nostalgia. We give the Track to Smack a bit of a beating, but save the day with a pearler for the next week.
After a brief hiatus, we're back. It's November and Christmas looms - so we've started drafting for our perfect Christmas parties. Arty's Dad wants to eat their Christmas lights and Busta Rhymes makes a return with Kendrick Lamar. Then we take on The Brackets - Album Art Edition, and put our 16 favourite pieces head to head. Who will reign supreme?
The Thicc Boiis bump heads with Melbourne based designer and artist Marcos Diaz and get nostalgic about the video games that raised us and the soundtracks that made them so good. We also definitely deviate into fashion and a whole heap of other nonsense. In the news, 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' has dropped a single out of nowhere, but we can't talk about that. Oh - and Chet Faker is back from the dead.
Like clockwork, Jacob Collier has released Djesse Part 3 in all it's glory. We do our best to unpack the masterpiece that is Hamilton - oh, and... Kaa kaaa! We also apologise for Arty's audio quality in this episode, he recorded it through his laptop mic like an amateur.
Another big week in new music including Logic's final studio album, and a new single from Sydney's Jimmy Nice. We discuss the year that's been so far, and look forward to what might be coming before the year is through. What are you hoping will drop before the curtains close on 2020?
Plenty of new music once again, notably from Kanye, Kaytranada and Jacob Collier. Then we push each other's music knowledge with a new segment, Quizlove. Who will walk away the crown? To be honest, it should be neither of us.
Thanks for coming back! The BLM movement and lockdown has produced some new music, while we spin the wheel in a game of Mixtape Roulette. Who will walk away with the best tracklist? Listen to find out, and vote on your favourite mixtape on Instagram.
In our first episode, get to know a little about us, your hosts (for better or worse) and our taste in music. Hear some of the latest music news as we touch on the new Run the Jewels Album, RTJ4, as well as the tension between J. Cole and Noname, and more. Learn a little about Toronto crooner Daniel Caesar and cringe at our bad jokes and Mitch’s audio quality. But don’t worry - we promise it improves after this episode. Beginner’s mistake… right?
