What happens to the Glass Guardians once the dust settles? Do they stay together? Do they go their separate ways? How does Coral get along with those other deities? We'll hear the players explain their characters' epilogues, and that is truly the end of our story.
But wait, there's still next week's final Q&A! Be sure to keep us in your podcast feed a little longer, and subscribe to the House of Bob and Tales of Bob podcasts!
We're finally here! It's the last regular actual-play episode of Tales from the Glass-Guarded World. Will everyone--or anyone--survive the battle against Levarrion? What surprises does he have waiting for the Glass Guardians?

The heroes have proven they can defeat two decrepit mounds of flesh, but can they also take on a beholder? It turns out beholders don't have legendary resistances, so the answer is probably "yes". Dang.

This chat was recorded as a test to make sure our audio equipment was all working properly, because the next day we started recording the final episodes of Tales from the Glass-Guarded World! We're getting very close to the end. If all goes as planned, you'll hear the final episodes before the end of 2024.

We're almost back to the main story, but today Jessica runs us through a one-page RPG called Adventure Skeletons by Grant Howitt and Chris Taylor. A group of skeletons from the wizard research complex decides to venture out into the world, and what they encounter is ridiculous.

Part 3 of our Start Frontiers homebrew rules playtest continues the story of S.C.U.M., the Splendid Company of Upstanding Mercenaries. They've made their way inside the Aramax One power facility to destroy the computer in the basement, only to discover some mercenaries have already broken in, disarmed the guards, and occupied the basement to do...something. Now they're making their way down the stairs to confront the other mercenaries. It's a confusing mess, isn't it?

Part 2 of our Start Frontiers homebrew rules playtest continues the story of S.C.U.M., the Splendid Company of Upstanding Mercenaries. They've made their way inside the Aramax One power facility to destroy the computer in the basement, but it looks like someone else broke in first.

This month we're back to a music release, and it's the intro theme from the Tales of Bob miniseries "Cowboy Bebob"! It's inspired by the music of Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts from Cowboy Bebop, of course. You can hear Mike's friend Norman (from all the way back in high school!) at the beginning.

Next week we'll be back with Part 2 of the Star Frontiers playtest.
We're rapidly approaching the end of TFTGGW, but we're taking a break from the main story for this amazing playtest of some new homebrew rules for the classic Star Frontiers role-playing game. Pink, Brandon, Pavel, and Rhett each play members of S.C.U.M., the Splendid Company of Upstanding Mercenaries as they undertake a very shady mission.
We think you'll really enjoy this three-part miniseries! At some point we'll have a Star Frontiers over on the Tales of Bob podcast, but first we have to iron out the wrinkles in the game itself.

While Zartok, Ansna, and Gerlos are spreading the Far Off One's magical jars, the rest of the Glass Guardians (Tara, Aster, Coral, Mama Sass, Gasten, and their deck hand, Silver Eyes) are trying to spread the good word about Coral Petrichor, the new god of knowledge. It's time for another narrative skill challenge!

The party has split! Zartok, Ansna, and Gerlos are spreading the Far Off One's magical jars around the inside of the crystal sphere that contains their solar system (we're using the classic 2nd Edition Spelljammer cosmology, not the 5E Spelljammer cosmology). Can they succeed at a skills challenge and place enough jars for their plan to work?

The party has been trying to get some answers, ideas, or decisions out of Mun the Immortal, in his orbitting wizard tower. So far they've only learned that the Far Off One's plan would work.

Just when the party seemed victorious, the enemy spelljammer started falling. With only a few rounds before both ships smash into the ground, can Aster and Coral make their way to the other ship to try to release Corellon's Needle from the grappling arms? It's the first release of the month, so we're back to music. This time it's from Tales of Bob: Broken Tusk Rising. We have a lot of combat music for that show, because 1) Pathfinder 2E adventures have a lot of combat, and 2) combat tends to be a bit drawn out.
Next week we're back to the Glass Guardians as their ship continues to be grappled by the Neogi Mindspider.

Our music release for this month is combat music from Broken Tusk Rising, the first campaign for the new Tales of Bob actual-play podcast! Broken Tusk Rising is what we're calling our playthrough of the "Quest for the Frozen Flame" adventure path, published by Paizo Inc. Heroes in the frozen north must confront an ancient evil before it wipes out their tribe!
This is some music we usually play at the beginning of combat to get things warmed up. It's hard to go wrong with using lots of drums for this campaign.

This is the horn-heavy combat first used during the barge fight in episode 13, "Bees and Dees". The original idea was to have a lot of brass-focused music to represent the mammoths of the Broken Tusk following, but the mammoths haven't played as large a role as I expected!

Here's the last of the three songs from Episode 100! This one has Zartok summarizing everything from him waking up to the party meeting Coral Petrichor. It's a good thing Josh and listener Brandon know a bit about hip hop, because Mike was pretty useless here.

Here's the first of the three songs from Episode 100! This one has Tara explaining events up until Aster enters the story. Ashley didn't want to sing, so listener Brandon (who appeared in the Holiday 2020 special episodes!) and Mike wrote an old-fashioned talk-to-a rhythm song for her.

Here's the second of the three songs from Episode 100! This one has Aster explaining events up until Zartok enters the story. Chris and Mike worked really hard on this one. It's too long, but Aster has a lot of story to summarize! The lyrics for this one were written by listener Ben!

We made it to episode 100! Listener Big Poppa G suggested that we do a musical recap of the story so far for Episode 100. We were too stupid to say no, so here you go.
It's a regular episode for 35 minutes, and then the musical section begins. We had to assemble this with everyone being in different locations, and it wasn't easy. Not all of us are musically inclined, either. Cut us some slack!
Thanks to Brandon W. for the lyrics for Tara's and Zartok's songs, and thanks to Ben C. for the lyrics to Aster's song.
Now let us never, ever speak of doing a musical again. NEVER.

This week we're back to music, and it's the theme from the end of Episode 40, the Season 1 finale.
Last week released our 5E D&D Spelljammer combat rules that don't require a map and miniatures! We've written up our own custom rules, and you can read them yourself, for free! The booklet and the rules have been through several revisions, and the booklet even has original artwork! Last week was a new episode, so this week is music. Speelock's theme is dark and ominous, reflecting his view of how others should perceive him.

Last week was a new episode, so this week is music. This is one of my (Mike, the DM) favorite pieces from Season 2, from Paxton's flashback. I has some new stuff, including a dramatic climax, followd by a snippet of the undead theme, and then the Rickert/Beretrand theme.

We're in an off week, which means we're releasing music! Episode 93 comes out next week.
This week's music is from the combat with Bizzim the Blazing. It's not one of my (Mike, the DM/editor/composer) favorite songs. It's very simple and repetitive, but it works. I had to release something from the Jeb episodes, and the "Hall of Elemental Conflict" is pretty awful, so this will have to do.

We're back! Season 3 starts right where season 2 left off, but we're kind of teasing you. We have to jump back in time to Aster and find out what he's been doing.
We have so much cool stuff coming up! New episodes, new music, new art, and in November, something big! This episode has some new art from Ignacio Corva, so be sure to check it out on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! You can also find it and other art at our website, tftggw.com. Season 3 begins September 12 with the release of Episode 92 of Tales from the Glass-Guarded World! We're going to an every-other-week format, with music releases on the off weeks. There will be tons of new art and a big surprise for everyone in November!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
This is the last music release of our between-season break! This week's release is the music from the encounter with a water weird in the Department of Evocation. Sadly, they never did figure out what was in the water-filled room behind the water weird.

We're on our between-season break, with Season 3 starting in September. This week's release is the music from brief but dramatic fight with a mind flayer the party inadvertently released from stasis.
Next week we have more music, and the week after that is the start of Season 3! Get ready!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
Our mid-season break is almost over! This is the final part of our three-part Pathfinder 2E one-shot. We have music for the next couple weeks, and then Season 3 starts in September 2020! Stay tuned for new art and other exciting stuff!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're on our between-season break, with Season 3 starting in September. This week's release is the music from the Neothelid combat. This was written before the fight, and that's not normally how we do things. It's a good thing they decided to go through with it, or that effort would have gone to waste!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're still on our between-season break. We'll be alternating between music and this Pathfinder Second Edition one-shot for the next few weeks, and then we'll have more music, and then Season 3 starts!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
This is one of my favorite pieces of music from Season 2. I originally wrote it with two ideas in mind:
1) It would sound like a so-so high school marching band.
2) It would be goofy and elephantine to fit the monster.
I think I succeeded on 2), but it ended up sounding like a competent high school marching band.
Next week is part 2 of our Pathfinder 2E adventure!

This is most of the music from the flashback one-shot that gave us Zartok's background. Two things are worth noting: First, you get an orchestral version of Zartok's theme. Second, the "hero ship" theme for the spelljammer ship known as Corellon's Needle makes an appearance. You're going to hear that theme often in Season 3!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're on our between-season break, so this week's release is Zartok's theme. I wish it had occurred to me to give each character a theme at the very beginning of the podcast. I only started doing it with Aethelflaed.

Brace yourself, as this is probably the most ridiculous one-shot we will ever play. Special thanks to Jessica for daring to be the GM.
We're still on our between-season break. After this we'll be releasing music for a few weeks, and then we'll have a multi-part Pathfinder 2E one-shot!

We're on our between-season break, so this week's release is some music from Episode 62, inspired by the classic CRPG Planescape: Torment.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're on our between-season break, so this week's release is some music from Episodes 59 and 60. This is a mix of the various themes used during combat with the Tanar'ri (a.k.a. demons). Mike doesn't actually play guitar, so don't be too harsh.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
As a bonus release this week, we have the metal version of the theme song that released with Episode 59. We think it's pretty cool, but it would have been cooler if one of us had been able to play guitar well enough to have a killer solo, instead of resorting to a synth solo.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
This is the first of several one-shots we're releasing during our inter-season break. It's Lasers and Feelings, the well-known one-page RPG! This is probably the funniest thing we've done, and definitely the stupidest. We've been sitting on this for a long time, and we're excited that you finally get to hear it!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're on our between-season break, so this week's release is some music from Episode 54. It's the very weird music from Tara's encounter with the Intellect Devourer that very nearly ate her brain.
We were going to release a one-shot this week, but in light of current events, we decided to postpone it. We don't want it to get lost in the quickly-developing news, and we don't feel comfortable trying to promote it heavily. This is not the time to take attention from important events. Maybe next week? Maybe not. We'll see.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're on our between-season break, so this week's release is some music from Episode 52. This is the combat music for the fight in the bathroom with the black pudding. Poor Aster got clobbered!
I like this song because it only took 6 instruments. That's what's nice about synthesizers (as opposed to orchestral instruments): they fill a lot of space with very little work. The orchestral songs can easily take 20 to 30 instrument tracks.
We should have a one-shot coming out next week, so keep updating the podcast feed!
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! Check out our website at tftggw.com or send us an email!
We're on our between-season break, so this week's release is some music from Episode 49. Note that around 1:35 the music that would become Tara's theme appears for the first time. You'll find it repeated in a lot of subsequent combat music.
We should have a one-shot coming out in the next couple weeks, so keep updating the podcast feed!

This will be the last new episode for a while, as we take a break between seasons. We'll be releasing music, and occasionally you might get a surprise one-shot session.
You can still let us know if you have questions, or contact us on Twitter or Facebook, or via email.
Thanks for listening, and we'll be back as soon as we can--but that might be a few months!

They've recovered or located all the wand pieces, talked to the arch lich, and generally sorted things out. It's time to wrap this whole thing up neatly..but we may have to say a few goodbyes first.

This is the season 2 finale. Send us an email to get those end-of-season questions in!
When the party descended the stairs to Integration a new piece of art by Shaunmakes was shown to them. This is pretty much how they experienced it (minus the music): First they saw only the top, then they panned down, saw the shocking image, and zoomed out.
Pretty neat, eh? Special thanks to Ben Carter for creating the video out of our music and Shaun's art.
The party has finally reached the bottom of the ruined wizard research complex. The Department of Integration is run by Strethok the Necromancer, who is presumably the villain behind the heroes' troubles, right?

Brace yourselves for almost two hours of brutal combat! The heroes of World 83 (plus Zartok) search Necrotic Storage for the undead creature known as the Necrosorb, which has been accidentally set free.

Yes, this is the episode in which we...thank? "Thank" isn't the right word. This is the episode in which we...ungraciously mock the kind, generous people who reviewed our podcast online.

With those immortal words--"Oops"--Speelock began the battle for control of the kobold tribes.

The heroes continue to help the noble, clever kobold Speelock and his merry band, as they try to overthrow Ulgor, leader of the Fleshpoker clan. They've got to make their way through the Department of Illusion. They might make their way through the carefully-designed traps and challenges the DM has placed in front of them...or they may just blow up a wall and skip all that.

With their new kobold friends, the heroes of World 83 are ready to search the Department of Illusion for a way to get to Ulgor, chief of the Fleshpoker tribe, so they can get their wand fragment, and so Speelock the Magnificent can get his Twig of Leadership.
But first they've got to get Speelock's chair back.

The party enters the Department of Illusion in search of another wand fragment. What about those kobolds, though? Probably nothing to worry about. They have, what, 4 hit points? They can't possibly be a threat to the party.

With the wand fragment secured, the party has some time to explore the Department of Evocation a bit more, and then see if they can do something to help Jeb. If only there were a means to extract his soul from the mimic, and a soulless human body into which his soul could be injected!

Jeb just wants to get back to cleaning things, but the rest of the party is looking for yet another wand fragment. Will they succeed? Is Jeb really that good at cleaning? We've finally arrived: It's time to start the battle with the Neothelid! But first the party must complete a multi-question survey about zombie battles. Will they select "Strongly Agree" or "Mostly Agree"? FIND OUT NOW!

The party has to finish exploring the rest of the "safe" side of the Divination level before they confront the dangerous Neothelid. No, there are no more experiments for them to work out, but it's not terribly exciting, either. Next week, though...

The heroes of World 83 meet Zartok the Tiefling Wizard and try to explain everything that has happened in the story so far. Do they do a good job conveying to Zartok the enormity of their accomplishments, and the importance of their current task?
No. No, they don't really do a good job explaining it all. Fortunately for you, we're also releasing a recap of Episodes 1 to 40, which made up the first season of TFTGGW, from Aster Fortuna himself! At least that part of the story will be summarized succinctly, right?
Be sure to follow us on Facebook or Twitter, or send us an email! Check out our website at tftggw.com!
Do you want a good, thorough summary of everything that happened in the first 40 episodes? Then you need a bard to do the summarizing!
That's right, Aster Fortuna, bard extraordinaire, is here to provide an exciting, dramatic, and tasteful summary! All the important events from Season 1, episodes 1 to 40, are here, from soup for cows to the Soul Jar!

Zartok and his new companions are searching an abandoned manor house for a way out of the city of Artalaravella, while bizarre creatures attack the city from the sky. They've just defeated a suit of animated armor guarding the house. Why is Kylantha so convinced there's a way out, and what could it be that would allow them to slip past this invading army?
We have a new player, and a new player character! We're going to flash back to his past, so you can get an idea of who he is and how he came to be frozen in a stasis chamber in the underground wizard complex.
The party is eager to wrap up their trip to Sigil and return to the Prime Material Plane, where they hope they can find all the pieces of that powerful magic wand. The next level down is Divination...unless something distracts them before they reach that floor.
Be sure to look us up on Twitter at https://twitter.com/TFTGGW, on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/talesfromtheglassguardedworld, and at our website, https://www.tftggw.com/ .
We're still in Sigil this week as the party attempts to find someone named Trunfeld who may have important information. With the assistance of Norm Od the Modron, the party navigates the city streets, gets some tattoos, and visits a bar run by an ogre. Good times!
The adventurers have passed through a portal to an alien world seeking a fragment of a magical wand. This world is built on the inside of a giant torus, and teeming with strange creatures from across the multiverse.
That's right, listeners, we're in Sigil, the city at the center of the planes! Sigil was created for the 2nd Edition AD&D Planescape campaign setting, and was the setting for the classic CRPG "Planescape: Torment". It's weird and twisted and more than a little disconcerting.
If you haven't played Planescape: Torment, you really should! Beamdog has an "enhanced" edition available on Steam, GOG, Android, and iOS. You can also find the classic 2nd Edition Planescape books on dmsguild.com and drivethrurpg.com.
Our heroes continue their mission to destroy a gate to Avernus, the top level of Hell. They'll have to fight their way past some unsuspecting Demons, and even then they won't have what they're really looking for: a fragment of a powerful magic wand. They have to go through a portal for that, and they don't know where that portal leads!
Listen for a musical clue at the end, though...
The remaining party members reunite to fulfill the promise Tara and Paxton made to Kremex the devil. Can they defeat the demons guarding the gate to Avernus and then destroy the gate? Will Paxton remember how to say "Kremex"?
There are more weird trolls to kill this week: Big trolls, little trolls, trolls under bridges, trolls with silly hair, and trolls that hurt your feelings. Next week we're back to the main story!
What have Aethelflaed and Eppalima been up to? They've been helping the garden gnomes with their troll problem.
This probably isn't our most interesting adventure, but it gets the job done.
Aster, Gasten, Mama Sass, Ansna, and Gerlos have decided to take down Nondle the Nimble before he can use the dangerous Soul Sucker to take over Arrival. Now they're headed into a meeting with Nondle and a bunch of cowering nobles. Can they defeat Nondle and his gang of thugs?
Let's follow Aster Fortuna as he pursues Nondle the Nimble back into World 83! Nondle has a dangerous magical weapon--the Soul Sucker Mark I--and he has something unpleasant planned. Can Aster stop him?
Why are we having a discussion episode here? If you've listened to episode 59, you should already have an idea. You definitely shouldn't listen to this if you haven't heard episode 59!
Aster, Tara, and Paxton have made a deal with a devil, and if they can get Paxton to understand it, they should be able to carry it out, right? Then they can get that portal key and go find the wand fragment.
Hopefully there won't be any big surprises in store.
The adventurers from world 83 have begun to explore the Conjuration level, and have encountered a friendly devil named Yapka. Yapka offered to take them to his boss, Kremex, saying they might be able to help with a demon problem. Of course, the party knows nothing about demons or devils, so they happily agreed.
Having met Kremex, they might regret this.
Aster is still kind of freaked out.
It's been a cakewalk so far, but now it starts to get weirder and more dangerous. We're starting to bring in some classic D&D lore, too.
Enjoy your favorite characters while you can, because some of them won't be around forever...
The heroes nearly wrap up their exploration of the Abjuration level--and even though they've found two wand fragments, they still haven't actually recovered them yet. Things are going to start getting really weird after this! The next few episodes are doozies.
The party rushes to deal with Tara's incapacitation so that they can return to exploring the Abjuration floor.
After being thoroughly creeped out by a disembodied voice and an irritating maze, the party ventures out into the open sections of the Abjuration floor. It doesn't go well!
The party continues to explore the Abjuration level of the wizard research complex, and Aster begins to freak out a little bit.
In which the DM forgets an important monster immunity but clobbers the party anyway. They finally make their way down to the second level down: Abjuration.
The party continues exploring the Administration floor, smashes through a puzzle when searching a bedroom, reads a dead man's journal, and reads through other peoples' mail. It's invasion of privacy all around! Hopefully no one will mind.
The heroes continue to explore the underground complex, and begin to piece together what happened on this floor.
The next few episodes don't have much combat, but there are quite a few clues dropped here and there, so pay attention!
The party begins exploring the underground wizard complex, starting with Administration.
Also, Paxton lets the dogs out.
The party prepares to take on its next adventure and tries to strike a bargain with an odd gnome.
The party has finally ventured beyond the ruined fortress walls, and Season 2 starts to take shape: MEGADUNGEON!
In which our heroes fight some mimics and decide to finish investigating the area above ground. The shape of this season will finally start becoming clear in the the next couple episodes.
The party finally looks around outside, but decides (to their DM's secret consternation) that it's more interesting indoors. So they look around the Hall of Scholars some more, find a very old note, and investigate a secret room.
The party gets an alarming update from Eppalima, and returns to the building containing their own world in search of the monster that has killed some of the refugees.
As they explore the area around their glass world, the party encounters weirder and weirder stuff. Now they've run into a dead guy who's acting like he knows Paxton--but he's calling him Kwiyeh. Also, they still haven't taken that long rest in a safe place so that they can level up!
In which the party further explores their immediate area, and opens a securely locked door to a potentially dangerous area...and leaves it open!
We're back with the first episode of Season 2! It jumps right in where we left off at the end of Season 1.
Be sure to visit tftggw.com and check out the artwork, or leave us a message! You can also email us at tftggw@gmail.com or follow us on Twitter or on Facebook!
We're back with new episodes starting this Saturday! We also have a new website for the podcast at tftggw.com, and you can find a lot of fantastic art from Ignacio Corva there.
We'll also be releasing the artwork over the next few days on Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit.
Take a look at Ignacio Corva's Portfolio here, and consider hiring him for your next project. His work is incredible; I wish I were half as talented.
We should be back in one or two weeks, if all goes according to plan. Here's a song that will be in an early Season 2 episode.
I can't really play guitar, but with modern editing tools, I can sort of make it sound like I can. The drums aren't great, either, because the style switches around quite a bit, and the drums aren't ideal for all the different styles. Still, it was an interesting experiment for me.
See if you can figure out who the different sections and themes might be used for.
This is another looping combat track. Before I figured out how to score an entire episode, I just wrote a track that I would loop over and over again for combat. It works fine, and it's less work than scoring the whole episode. It obviously gets repetitive, and the more interesting the song is, the more annoying that gets. Also, this is probably the second track I did with upgraded horn sounds. The strings are still crummy, but I like how the horns turned out.
Here's the second of this week's character themes. This one is used to introduce "The Adventures of Aethelflaed" side episodes. It's supposed to sound bright and cheerful, and maybe even innocent. That's definitely part of Aethelflaed's character.
On the other hand, she is not reluctant to gut a person. I don't know if that makes her complex or just scary.
This week we're releasing two short character themes. First is Aster Fortuna's dramatic, heroic theme, usually played when he introduces himself.
The strings used in this are the low-quality strings that come with the Cakewalk Sound Center. They sound good enough that I never bothered upgrading them to the higher quality versions I now have available.
This is a looping song that was played whenever the players were discussing the Truths of Foresight. I originally intended it to just be something to play during any thoughtful, pensive conversation, but it kept being used for this one thing, so it became Foresight's Theme.
This song was in the second episode to feature Aster Fortuna, and was supposed to add suspense and tension. I think it might be too distracting.
This was the first battle theme for the podcast, used in the very first episode, albeit in a much simpler form. It's one of the first things I sloppily threw together when learning to use Cakewalk Sonar (now Cakewalk by Bandlab). It's supposed to sound like music from a video game. The drums are too repetitious, but it still works fairly well as background combat music.
This is a "we're not dead yet" announcement. Stay tuned for some musical stuff to tide you over until the new season arrives!
You have three days left to vote in the Twitter poll on a returning NPC for season 2! Get in there and vote for Ataulf, Eppalima, Medhu, or Zentha, so that I know what to do when we start recording season 2.
It's time to pick your favorite NPC to return in Season Two! Note that other NPCs may also return, but the one that wins this vote will be there at the start of the next season.
https://twitter.com/TFTGGW/status/1084168970767351810
So get over there and vote, so that I can work it into the plan for Season Two!
We're on break for a while to rest, write, and record. We'll be back in a few months with Season 2. Enjoy this Season One post-mortem, and be on the lookout for occasional bits of music, or maybe even a one-shot!
We're finally here at the end of Season One! Will our heroes smash the Soul Jar? If they do, what happens next? What does it all mean?
We'll have a Season One "post-mortem" episode next week, and then we'll be on hiatus for a while. Thanks for listening! Be sure to check in with us on Twitter and Facebook, or send us an email at tftggw@gmail.com!
It's the penultimate episode of Season One! The party plots, plans, and schemes for their attack on the Soul Jar. Can you feel the tension rising?
We're almost at the end of Season One! Be sure to visit us on Twitter @TFTGGW, and on Facebook at facebook.com/talesfromtheglassguardedworld. You can also email us at tftggw@gmail.com.
The party is finally in Arrival, and their next destination is Tara's family home, Deyn Manor. The time has come for them to plot the destruction of the Soul Jar. Hopefully they won't encounter anyone annoying from Tara's past along the way.
If they're going to destroy the Soul Jar, the party has to get to Arrival. Unfortunately, the Iron Empire has other ideas.
It's time to discuss the Truths of Foresight with Mun the Immortal. Is it really a good idea to break the Soul Jar, freeing the souls of all the world's dead? How does Lumpen feel about being back at Mun's tower? What should they do next? Find out on today's episode!
How are Bud and Bart doing? How much would Sigbert like a pair of Boots of Elvenkind? What's Carlton the Cruel up to these days? Is his aqueduct fixed, and if so, is he grateful? He didn't seem all that cruel, right?
All these questions and more are answered in today's episode!
Having arrived safely in Luttenhaven, a port on the Magistracy coast, the party encounters an old frenemy and does some party management.
Considering how much traveling the PCs do, I really should have posted this earlier. Here's a map of the world. It's a pretty big file, and probably best viewed on a computer, rather than your phone.
It won't take Aster long to take that beautiful Whistling Rapier, but what then? Surely that's not the last of the loot! And will they be able to escape with everything they've stolen?
Due to difficulties with our recording schedule, we put together a one-off flashback episode about Chris's character, Aster Fortuna, the half-elf rogue and bard. He had an interesting life back on Arrival, before he went out to explore the world.
We're also joined by Josh, who plays Gasten, Aster's adoptive father.
Hey listeners! We've been having trouble getting together to record ever since Hurricane Michael came through. I managed to get Chris (Aster Fortuna) and Josh (friend of the podcast) together to record a flashback to Aster's time on the island of Arrival.
The audio quality on Chris's microphone is poor; apparently it was pointing away from his mouth part of the time. Sorry about that! There are so many things to manage when setting up to record, it's hard to catch everything.
The good news is that we're meeting today (November 10, 2018) to record a long session, which should result in two or three regular episodes.
It's time for the adventurers to part ways with the Iron Empire while they still can. But can they?
Our heroes finish up their exploration of the abandoned house by checking out the basement. It doesn't go well, but fortunately, Tara pulls out the heavy weaponry.
They're trying to head back to talk to Mun the Immortal, but they get distracted by an opportunity that appears along the way. It's a sort of quest that they choose to undertake on the side. You could call it a "side quest", if you like.
After studying the large stone by the Eastern Bubble, Paxton, Tara, Aethelflaed, Aster, Eppalima, and Lumpen make camp, but are attacked by undead.
The fight takes a while to resolve. Please be patient.
Our heroes spend the entire episode standing in front of a big rock. It's riveting stuff, folks.
Having failed to get to make friends in Drongledoon, our heroes travel over hills and through mountains to get to the Eastern Bubble, where they hope to uncover more of the Truths of Foresight.
They've only just arrived in the Iron Empire, but they're already making a big impression on local officials. Now they're off to the Eastern Bubble in search of the Truths of Foresight, and they've picked yet another up a new companion. She's a bit of a loose cannon, though.
This wacky party is just getting started! After that, the party really needs to get back on task and make its way to and through the Iron Empire. They'll probably meet some colorful new characters along the way.
Will our heroes escape from the jail and the city of Two? Will they convince Sigbert to transport them to the Iron Empire? Will they clean his apartment, cook his dinner, and serve his guests at a dinner party?
Yes, they will.
Aethelflaed and her new friend, Aster Fortuna, have broken into a museum to steal a powerful magic item. They've just encountered the security system, however! Will they evade the dangerous automaton? Will they they use the environment against it?
No, not really. But I think the music turned out well!
With all of our heroes in jail, surely nothing interesting is going to happen until the trial and their eventual execution, right?
Wrong! It's time for Aethelflaed to have another exciting side adventure, this time with our new player character, Aster Fortuna (played by our new player, Chris)!
Now it's Paxton's turn to face Zentha and her dulcet tones. Will she get anything out of him, or will he be disarmingly reasonable? Why do they hate this Frith guy so much anyway?
Our heroes have surrendered to the guards of the City of Two, and are now in jail, awaiting trial. Tara is next in line to be interviewed by a member of the Green Cloaks, a secretive organization of rangers and druids who work for the Great Forest. Tara has questions, too, such as:
-"Can someone bring me a drink?"
-"Why is this cell so awfully dirty?"
-"Don't you know who I am?"
Our heroes have surrendered to the guards of the City of Two, and are now in jail, awaiting trial. Aethelflaed is the first to be interviewed by a member of the Green Cloaks, a secretive organization of rangers and druids who work for the Great Forest. The question is, does Aethelflaed actually know anything?
We're taking a break from usual actual-play material to recap events so far. Also, you'll hear a little bit from our new player, Chris.
In which our heroes begin to take action to deal with the coming crisis, traveling to the other side of the world. Also, poop jokes.
In which our heroes discuss observers with Mun, and then do business with Sigbert, who has updated his list of wacky magical items yet again.
In which our heroes speak to their lost friend one more time, then head back to Mun, only to receive some shocking news.
In which our heroes attempt to apprehend the villain who just killed their friend Fin, and discover just what he (i.e., the villain) was up to.
Apparently I uploaded episode 19 for both Episode 18 and 19. That is, you never got a chance to hear the correct Episode 18! Please re-download Episode 18, and then you can go on to Episode 19, which will make a lot more sense. I'm sorry about the confusion. I'm not sure how I screwed that up!
In which our heroes continue their murder investigation, interview a bunch of wizards, and generally make a nuisance of themselves.
Those wacky adventurers have stumbled into a murder scene! What crazy hijinks will ensue as they begin investigating? Find out in Episode 18!
Our heroes continue their journey through the westernmost forest, encountering a strange wizard (is there any other kind?), and eventually reaching their destination, where several surprises await.
In today's episode, the adventurers encounter some wild and unnatural animals as they make their way through the Westlichstenwald. You'll never guess what sort of animal they are.
Our heroes begin their journey to the Western Research Facility, but quickly encounter some goblins who want to feed soup to cows. Again.
Will Mun turn the adventurers into frogs? Will he challenge them to a magical duel? Or will he send them on yet another long mission that will take weeks and send them to some remote location?
Probably frogs.
Find out what happens to Bandybrad Gurrow and Linley Bever, as they rise through the floors of Mun's tower, and encounter some unexpected problems. Will they make it out with valuable treasure? More importantly, will they make it out alive?
This is the second part of our test recording, from way back before we started the main podcast story. We'll go back to Tara, Finn, Paxton, and Aethelflaed next time.
We travel back in time 30 years, as Bandybrad Gurrow and Linley Bever try to break into the tower of Mun the Mighty. This was our test recording, in which we tested the recording equipment and tried to figure out how to create a podcast episode. It was recorded before the main podcast story began, but you will still encounter some familiar characters.
In which our heroes fight a chimera and make their way to the tower of Mun the Immortal. Also, Danielle's voice is gone.
Live from Freecon 2018...It's Tales from the Glass-Guarded World!
This is a recording of a one-shot game we played at Freecon 2018 at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Danielle couldn't make it, so the PCs are not the ones you are accustomed to hearing. Instead, we're going to follow some thieves through an exciting evening of burglary.
You'll meet these thieves again, in an adventure that takes place 30 years in the past, in a few more episodes.
We're cheating this week. We re-recorded Episode 0, now that we have all four players and we're more comfortable with the campaign setting. It's a good place to start if you are new to our podcast. Ashley, Andy, Bryan, and Danielle help me summarize the setting and explain some (small) rules tweaks, so you can better understand what's going on when you start episode 1. Next week: we release the recording from the Freecon live session!
You can find the new Episode 0 here, or add us on iTunes, Google Play, or Stitcher!
In which our heroes consider a hireling, talk to the Duke, pick up another side quest, and set out for Mun's tower.
In which our heroes fight off some aggressive carnies, resume traveling to Zauberfled, encounter some strangely amicable zombies, and...maybe...just maybe...get rid of that wheat?
In which our heroes encounter someone from Tara's past, and visit a strange carnival straddling the road to Zauberfeld. There's no combat this time, either, but at least we get close!
In which our new friend Aethelflaed undertakes an exciting night mission of her own! Can she infiltrate the wizard tower? Can she get alive? Find out in Part 1 of...The Adventures of Aethelflaed!
In which our heroes wrap up their adventures on Pilgrim's Island, and then go shopping for magic items. Legal Notice: Sigbert's Sorcerous Sundries is not affiliated with any other shop (particularly from Baldur's Gate) by the name of Sorcerous Sundries. No trademark infringement is intended or implied. Trademark rules from Faerun do not apply in the Glass-Guarded World.
In which our heroes encounter another difficult door, then investigate a long-abandoned hidden complex under the monastery.
In which our heroes decide to investigate a ruined temple, and just can't give up on that frustrating door.
In which our heroes climb an island of rock, meet a new friend, and encounter a frustrating door.
In which our heroes resolve the fight over the glassteel sword, travel to Newtower, and take a hike to a lake.
In which our heroes exit the goblin cave and deal with the consequences of Paxton's obsession with a glassteel sword.
In which our heroes confront some goblins, and create a slippery situation. They're a bit embarrassed about it; I won't tell anyone what happened if you won't. This will just be between us.
In which our stalwart adventurers encounter a strange creature, read someone else's mail, and develop paranoia about a guy following them.
You should now be able to find our podcast on Google Play, iTunes, and Stitcher! Is there some other system we should be using to get the podcast to you? Let us know! You can email us at tftggw@gmail.com, send us a Facebook message, or comment on this post.
In which we meet our stalwart adventurers, and they meet a nasty creature, as well as a mysterious jerk in a grey cloak.
In which we introduce our actual-play Dungeons and Dragons podcast, and explain the campaign setting. This is our second recording of Episode 0; we decided to re-record it now that we have all our players, and everyone is more comfortable with the campaign setting. If you want to go straight to the story, skip to Episode 1.
