We’re continuing the journey through the life of Paul the Apostle, looking at four monumental “stop and go” moments that paved the way for him to form meaningful connections and live in deep community with others.
This week, we have Hannah Irby from Abilene Christian University along for the ride. We talk about everything from our need for wise counsel and faith-filled friendships to the importance of having a heart of teachability. Together, we share stories that shine a light on our need for others while drawing parallels to the biblical story of Paul the apostle’s encounter with Ananias.
We discuss the ways laughter heals and tears bind. Hannah's insights, drawn from her personal experiences, help drive home the need for wise counsel and mentorship in our lives. Taylor also gets real about her struggles with doubt and how God used it to help her become a girl equipped and ready to defend the Gospel today! Who is God? That's a BIG question! We've been looking at some of the names of God to help answer it. In this episode, we talk with Kendra Cutsinger about God being known by the name Jehovah Nissi; the Lord is my Banner (Victory).
Kendra is wife to her husband of 22 years, mom to two boys, one in college and the other in high school, and parent to a former foster daughter. She works as a Regional Director for Circle of Care, a nonprofit in Oklahoma whose mission is to provide help, healing, and hope to children and families through multiple services and programs across the state.
In this episode, we take a look at the story of Moses interceding atop a hill for Joshua and the Israelites while they fought below in a battle. There’s so much from this story for us, including practical ways to demonstrate trust in the Lord as our Victory!

Today, we talk with Simone Seymour about God being known by the name Jehovah Rapha, the Lord is my Healer.
Simone is a wife, mom, Bible teacher, and women’s minister. She has served as a pastor alongside her husband Meiko, and as a state coach for IF:Gathering. She recently graduated from a Propel Ecclesia cohort.
In this episode, we take a look at the story of bitter water made sweet in Exodus 15. Just like bitter circumstances can lead us to grumble, bitter water led the Israelites to gripe and complain. It was through instruction to Moses that the water became sweet. Afterwards, God declared Himself the Healer of His people.
No matter our age, part of being alive means that there will be times when we experience physical ailments, emotional wounds, and relational difficulties. Jehovah Rapha, the Lord our Healer, desires us to come to Him for healing over it all.

Girls today are struggling more than ever with their mental health, including anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation. Allie Marie is no stranger to any of this. She fought a fierce mental health battle during her teen years.
Allie is the director and founder of Wonderfully Made, a national ministry helping teen girls and women know their value and identity in Jesus. She wrote a book by that same title. She shares about parts of the book with us, which includes a portion of her mental health journey.
As usual, we roundtable scripture together. This episode we take a look at the story of Gideon, a man who saw himself as small and weak but whom God called a "man of valor." We're continuing in our "Child of God" series, talking about identity and belonging! We want to encourage you in your own walk with Jesus while equipping you to help the girls in your life answer two questions they are hard-wired to ask: "Who am I?" and "Where do I belong?"
Today, Mandie and Delaney close out the series talking with children's author Aunya Robinson. She has worked as an ESL teacher in China, and in California where she helped children write and publish their stories. She has her Bachelors degree in multi-media and web design. She's spent time as a professional actress and model. Currently, she works as an Instructional Technology teacher in Tampa, FL where she takes every opportunity to remind students who they are and where they belong.
The opportunities given to Aunya as an actor (storyteller) and model allowed her to meet many people, of all different backgrounds and financial standing. She says this gave her the greatest gift - to SEE humanity, the common thread in all, and the need for a Savior. This understanding influenced her to create a children's book series for all different hues and socio-economic statuses, called Baby Angel books.

When you think of God, the first word that comes to mind might not be “friend.” But this is the word Jesus uses in John 15:15, when he tells His followers, “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” In this series, we're talking about what it means to have a friend in Jesus!
In this first episode, Lauren invited her friend Machelle Clark to help us kick off the series. Machelle showed Lauren what it looked like to follow Jesus when Lauren was in college.
Machelle has worked in campus ministry with The Navigators for almost 30 years but is currently the Pastoral Staff Care Leader at Cornerstone Church in Ames, IA. She has six children and six grandchildren, with another due this fall.
Machelle talks with Lauren & Mandie about what it looks like to have a friend in Jesus and how that friendship impacted her and Lauren's relationship.

She shares how seeing God as her best friend has helped shape her prayer life, especially when it comes to confession.
Megan has a Master's degree in Counseling and is a Certified Life Coach with the John Maxwell team. She has been coming alongside girls since 2014 through one-on-one counseling, retreats, workshops, bible studies, and more.

We are wrapping up the You Can Rest series by walking through the You Can Rest share guide, a mini-Bible study on finding and experiencing rest. We brought back University of Nevada student, Summer Sollis to join us for this conversation.
We talk about rest in Jesus as a game changer! It's available to us at all times, even amid our work or in the middle of what feels like chaos; Jesus wants us to experience the rest and peace he offers.
Not only that, but God created a rhythm of rest for us to follow that includes work followed by physical rest. God called rest "holy." His command for rest is good for us!
This conversation through the share guide also brought us all to agree that naps are a good thing, Jesus even took one in the middle of a storm!

We are continuing our "You Can Rest" series with Shelbi Clark, a 27 yr old with a passion for Jesus. writing, and people. Her favorite pastime is stringing together words that remind herself and others of how human they are. She's an open book when it comes to her battle with mental health and brings us her testimony of finding rest and discovering her worth in Jesus versus her work.
In this episode, we also look at the story of Martha and Mary in Luke, Chapter 10. Martha was distracted with productivity like so often we can be. Mary had found rest and joy in the simple act of sitting at Jesus' feet, enjoying His presence. Pull up a seat at this table of brave conversation and ponder with us how we see ourselves in both of these women. Maybe you will find yourself in them, too, and come out with a deeper understanding of what experiencing rest and living it out means for you.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites all who are weary and weighed down to come to Him and find rest. In this series, we are discovering more about the rest Jesus promised and what it looks like to experience it and live it out!
In this episode, we talk about ways past trauma or abuse can make accepting Jesus's invitation to rest more complicated. Sometimes we need a safe sister to sit with us, listen to us, and help us take it to Jesus. Sometimes we are the sister who needs to sit, and other times we are the one who gets to lead the way. As we go to Jesus, a great exchange occurs - pain for peace, anxiety for rest, hurt for healing.
Jane Stephens, a certified mental health coach, spent 15 yrs leading a ministry for women with a history of sexual abuse. She is a lover of Jesus and passionate about seeing women of all ages discover the freedom and rest Jesus has for them as they invite Him into their stories of trauma.

Words are powerful; the ones spoken over us and the ones we speak over others. We want to recognize and tear down the lies that we've been believing for far too long and replace them with what is good and true. We want to be careful of what we speak over others, also, especially young people. Our words can either tear down or build up! Mandie and Jamie both share personal stories and practical steps to changing our thought life for the good.
Growing up in small-town Missouri, Jamie longed to have someone guide her through the issues she faced as a teen but sadly ended up navigating them alone. At age 18, she felt the call to serve Christian teen girls by doing just that…helping girls overcome real-life issues and stay true to who God created them to be. Jamie now lives outside of Nashville, TN, and has been faithfully serving teens for over 20 years.

The mind is powerful. Our thoughts impact more than just a current mental state; they also determine our actions and behaviors. As Neuro Coach Alicia Michelle puts it, "Every action we take starts with a thought." How important then to take our thoughts captive and allow God to renew our thought life!
Alicia talks with Mandie about how thought patterns form and ways for us to take control of our thoughts versus giving them power over us. The struggle to be kind can be real. We have a problem with the sinfulness in our hearts. But here's the deal. Jesus conquered sin at the cross. And by His Spirit we have what it takes to extend God's loving-kindness to us, even when others aren't kind to us.

A year after graduating, Stella moved to Austin, TX, where she currently works in criminal justice reform with Prison Fellowship. Stella is passionate about justice — whether that’s ending human trafficking, reforming the issues in our criminal justice system, or racial reconciliation — She believes the church is the most powerful pool of individuals able to lead this charge. Sharing out of her personal experience, you are going to appreciate the simple yet powerful way she describes justice for the believer.

Kelli traveled for 10+ years as a background vocalist for several Gospel artists. She's appeared on the Dove Awards , BET Celebration of the Gospel, and an episode of the TV sitcom, Mike and Molly. Kelli serves as a campus pastor and worship leader at Allison Park Church in Pittsburgh, PA. She also oversees student development at Allison Park Leadership Academy.
Kelli is married to her husband Ben, who is a musician and graphic designer. Together, they have three beautiful children.
