In this episode he explores how you can learn and master “How to REScue YOURself from a dysfunctional, toxic or abusive situation”. By recognizing the manipulative and abusive stages in the cycle of an abusive situation that is enacted and controlled by the abusive person.
How do you make the Change to REScue yourSELF from an Abusive person or Toxic situation? You first need to identify and determine that you are in an abusive or dysfunctional and toxic situation or relationship. This usually is not easy to determine if the cycle of abuse is consciously and carefully controlled by the abusive person. Which often is skillfully manipulated consciously (with narcissistic behavioural traits) or unconsciously as a result of a (self-serving personality disorders). However, if you know the stages of the abusive cycle, you may be able to take back some control you were manipulated to give up (especially you self confidence and self-esteem). Which when compromised and diminished, would enable your learnt-helplessness, and explain why you stay in an abusive relationship or situation.
Lots of people talk about changing, wanting sincerely to do so but despite their best efforts to change their behaviours, they are still stuck in the Pre-contemplation stage of change readiness and commitment to changing.
It takes the alignment of several key ingredients and self intrinsic motivational factor coming together for a person to move from wanting to change to commitment and motivation to undertake starting the process of behavioural change.

Making conscious and deliberate efforts to make behavioural change. According to M. Scott Peak coins that life is a series of problems to be solved.
Exploring the importance of integrating the appropriate process of change with the stage of change for which it can most effectively enable intentional movement between stages.
This episode explores the Stages of Change, looking at the significance of each stage. Why becoming motivated to change and change readiness is critical for sustainable longer term behavioural change.
Getting ready and becoming motivated to make behavioural change starts with a readiness, wellness and a desire to embrace change. All of which can only and will only be considered if the person or persons concern think and accept that there is an issue or something needing to change. There are different schools of thought about the number of stages in the cycle of change. I would like to put forward that it is understanding the difference between stages of change and processes of change that is critical for sustainable moving from pre-contemplation to contemplation stage.
