As a cache owner, do you have when you get a log notice and all it says is "TFTC"? What about those logs that are just "." or just a space so the log looks bank? It's disheartening when you put effort into hiding a geocache and get these kind of lazy logs but what can you do about it?

What is a geocaching association? Typically, it is an organized group of geocachers coming together to foster relationships in the local geocaching community and can be a great way to meet other geocachers in your area. In Season 4 Epsode 10, I talked with Brad Simmons, spokesman for the board of GeoWoodstock and former event host, about GeoWoodstock. We had a good long conversation and after an hour, when all my questions had been answered and I couldn't' think of anything else, we did a cache highlight and I thought the conversation would be wrapping up. But as we were finishing, Brad though of a few more stories and incite that he wanted to share. We talked for two hours about GeoWoodstock and JoeGPS and I'm certain we could have talked far longer. With so many great stories, it didn't seem right to try to condense it all into one episode, nor did it seem to make sense to have one episode that was two hours long. SirDumalot and I had so much fun talking about letterbox geocaches and geocaching in general, that the conversation just kept going. We got off the topic of letterbox caches and just kind of talked geocaching in general. In the end the one hour zoom meeting I had scheduled turned into two hours and I honestly think we could have gone on for three hours if it hadn't been 11 pm and both of us having to get up early for our day jobs. But it was so much fun I decided to take that last hour and turn it into its own episode.

Letterboxing is a very old location based game that came along well before satellites and GPS. While it some similarities, geocaching was developed entirely independent from it. That didn't stop the two from merging into what we now know as letterbox geocaches. But what exactly is a letterbox geocache and how does it differ from all the others? Join me and my Guest, Joseph, aka SirDrumalot, as we take a look at this unique geocache type.

If you're going to talk about hiding geocaches then you should really talk about maintaining them as well right? So it only made sense to me to do the two back to back. Maintaining a cache may seem like common sense to some but not to all and there are so many caches out there that aren't maintained well or at all. And so many cachers wanting to help a CO and doing maintenance on caches they find. I always get excited when I find something geocaching related that outside the normal geocaching gear, trackables, and ToTT (Tools of the Trade). The things is I don't find them often. So image my surprise and excitement when I came across the "Cache Me if You Can" board game. A little further digging and I discovered there's a card game version of it too. So of course I had to reach out to their creator, DPH games, and find out more about them. Dan, DPH games Lead Designer and original creator of the game, joins me this episode to tell us more about the game and its origin.

The Peoria Hidden History Series takes geocachers to historic locations where, although the buildings may no longer be there, it's still a place full of history. In this episode I talk to Lee to learn more about this fun series and hear how it all got started.
