Kaydeem Francis better known as The Caribbean’s Trap Star "Kiko-Dan" is a talented vocalist and song writer. Kiko was born in the United States of America, to an Antiguan father “Howard Francis” and a Trinidadian mother “Jilly Francis. Kiko is from a big family whereas having 3 Brothers and 2 sisters. Kiko migrated to the island of Trinidad and Tobago at the tender age of 5 where he attended Five Rivers Hindu. In Five Rivers “Kiko” took part in the Baal Vikaas competition by both singing and playing an instrument called the Dhantal. Kiko also attended a Secondary school in Trinidad by the name of Ambi’s Career Institute. After graduating from Ambi’s, Kiko moved back to the U.S.A. to pursue a college education Kiko joined a group called Sesame Flyers where he played The Steelpan. In this organization he met his good friend Jumoke Mckenzie “DJ Amuz-Sic” who had the same passion and drive as him. Kiko didn’t have a typical start in music, it was more of a hobby until the untimely passing of "Jumoke Mckenzie". It was when he asked to perform a song at the funeral that he began to take his music career seriously. Kiko began recording tracks about a month after the funeral with local producer Kadeem “Rasta Grammy”Alleyne. Working with Rasta Grammy, Kiko had the opportunity to record with Calypso legend Brother Marvin and local artist such as Prophet Pillar, Springs and the most notable overseas record "Me And The DJ" with New York Soca artist Bre. Due to a spinal problem known as Scoliosis Kiko had to undergo major back surgery so that it could better his mobile ability. This surgery pushed back Kiko’s first professional release “Wine Dat Waist” feat Brother Marvin. After taking several months of therapy Kiko’s health was improving and he got back on the music scene with soca/reggae producer Tony "The Mad Architect" Brown (Deceased) where he recorded his first J’ouvert track entitled “Chip” that scored top 20 Soca songs of 2012. Kiko's style to music is more of a singjay, but he is a versatile artist. He is a very unique individual and takes his passion for music very serious. So far Kiko has performed with Top Soca icons in the industry. He has performed with Big names such as Calypso Rose, Destra, Iwer George, Nnika Francis, Shurwayne Winchester, K.Rich, Kes, Kerwin Dubois, Mr Killa, Lavaman, Leadpipe & Saddis, Brooklyn’s own Lyrikal and many many more names and also travelled to several states performing. Kiko is currently working with Mysta Lyon of Roar Productions, and “Fari”of Blessones Studios which his latest contribution to the industry entitled “Ever Since Ah Young” for Soca 2016. Kiko is set to make a big impact on the industry very soon. The ladies love him and he is still growing as an artist and a regular lover for Music. Look out for more of Kiko-Dan in the near future.
