Right before learning that we would meet together in person to sing, I recorded this with my sister - a special guest, so I wanted to be sure to share.
Love,
Brother Pratt
We're learning a new song this week! Another one of Brother Pratt's favorites, from the hymnal! It is number 223 for those of you readers who want to follow along.
Don't forget to breathe!
Love,
Brother Pratt
Don’t forget to have your moms and dads send me your favorite songs you would like to sing!
Welcome, new members of the Tyson's Ward Primary Professional Choir! I'm Brother Pratt, and I love to sing and talk with you. I am old but I never graduated from primary, and now they let me lead the singing. In our primary choir we have fun together. We are never boring and we love each other and try to sing beautifully and we learn about how to breathe and think and feel so that we have peace and happiness and help others feel peace and happiness. This podcast has been one of the ways we have stayed connected for the last year during Covid. I hope you'll join us, and you're always welcome to go back and listen to previous episodes if you want to do some more singing or breathing or thinking with me. Love, Brother Pratt
Don't forget to send me your recording of Amid the Tumult!
This week we review the words to some songs we haven't sung in a while!
Love,
Brother Pratt
Amid the Tumult of the world, and all my daily chores, a prayer can open the heavens to me, bring me closer to the Lord.
This week we will do a very short video recording of amid the tumult! Have your moms and dads send it to me by email!
We have a little fun today, with a penny flute and a lighthearted version of a favorite primary song.
Have a wonderful week!
Happy Sunday!
Quick Reminder of our Primary Presidency's invitation to please put the Friend-to-Friend Event on February 20th at 1:00 PM EST on your calendar! This is for children ages 3-11, their parents, and Primary leaders and teachers.
Don't forget the words to our new song! We will do it twice today:
Amid the Tumult of the World, and all my daily chores,
A prayer can open the heavens to me, bring me closer to the Lord.
New Tyson's Ward Primary Song!
Amid the tumult of the world
and all my daily chores,
a prayer can open the heavens to me;
bring me closer to the Lord.
A special treat this week! New Songs, New Recordings, and a special guest sings with me for one song!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! We haven't sung any of the official December songs for this year, so we'll start with them! These are songs I love but we haven't done in a long time, so I hope you enjoy them!
The words for the first verse of Silent Night in Spanish are:
Noche de luz, noche de paz;
reina ya gran solaz
do el niño dormido está,
mensajero del Dios de verdad.
Duerme, niño, en paz;
duerme, niño, en paz.
Good morning! Thank you for singing with me! Don't forget to send me your recordings of Twas There on Christmas Day by next Sunday, December 6! It's our opening song today, so you can start out with it!
Lots of songs today! We'll sing our October Songs, then review our September songs, then do our Christmas song, and then a couple more favorites!
Have a wonderful week! Oh, and in case you didn't guess it last week, that special instrument that I used that sounded kind of like a music box - was called a "kalimba."
Love,
Brother Pratt
There's a new instrument on one of our songs this week! Have your moms and dads send me your guess as to what the instrument is!
Share with me how you are doing! What is something that happened last week that made you happy? What do you look forward to this week?
A couple of treats today: Katie sings a song and plays the Ukulele for us, and Dallin also sings a song for us!
Sorry there's no video this week. I'll try to do another one soon! But there are TWO new song recordings: We'll learn Samuel Tells of the Baby Jesus, and we'll have some fun with the Wise Man and the Foolish Man.

This week, we talk about pride cycles and foundations! Sorry if its a little more talking than normal. You can do it!
Love,
Brother Pratt
This week, if you would like to participate, I’ve included instructions for a collaborative musical number! Take a video of your child or family singing along with me (headphones in so that my voice isn’t recorded). Send me the video and I’ll see if I can stitch them together!
Use headphones to hear me singing and playing. Take a video of you singing along with me. If you want, you can do it together with your family, or you can sing solo. Then send the video to me!
There is a photo to look at in the weekly e-mail before you start this week's singing time!
Happy Father's Day! For father's day this year, I decided to give myself a present and pick my favorite primary songs.
This week's special treat: A new verse to "Follow the Prophet," from the Goaslind Family! And more!
Sing through! This is our first draft of the primary program. We chose these songs together as I listened to your ideas and feelings. But this isn't a final list - and I welcome your thoughts on how we might change it.
We'll try some new things in today's singing time. I hope you try some new things this week too!
Thank you so much for your messages this week! I couldn't get all the requests in, but we got some of them here. I miss you all, and I can't wait until we can be back together at the chapel. Have a wonderful week!
Hi Friends! Let's sing and talk together for a few minutes. Since we can't be together in the same room this week, we'll do that using podcast technology! And if you have ideas for next week, or a special song you'd like us to sing, have your mom or dad e-mail me! Love, Brother Pratt
