As we welcome the New Year of 2024, we may be tempted to make some resolutions to improve ourselves & our lives. But how many of us can honestly say that we have kept our resolutions in the past? We talk about contemporary, traditional, evangelical, and tons of other descriptions. We often will look for something or someplace we can call, “my church.” Yet, in Matthew 16, Jesus told his disciples, “I will build my church.” I like that he didn’t say, “I will build the church.” When it comes to His church, Jesus takes it very personally. Christianity is not about Christians, it’s about the gathering of Christians. Christianity is a group of people, it is the church…the Body of Christ. Jesus says, “And I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against that church.” He loves his church. He takes it very, very personally. In 2017, the Lord nudged Haven Church through the a church-wide study based on the book, Radical, by David Platt. In the study, it forced many of us to ask ourselves if we really lived out our faith in a safe way or live out Jesus radical call to faith. From there a group from the church took a mission trip to Haiti in August 2017 that forever impacted the ministry of Haven Church and those in Haiti we now part of the Haven Community Church family. From that point, God connected two communities in very different places and situations, and changed hearts, minds, communities of Haven Community Church and Haven Community Church Haiti. Join this week as we share God’s hand in the beginning up until now and how Haiti faces some of the most difficult, tumultuous times, right now.
This week we take time out to Thank God for 15 years in Ministry and existence as Haven Community Church. God has done exceedingly more than we ever thought or asked. Through portable church, pandemics, births, deaths, weddings, mission trips, weekly worship and all other things life brought our way, Haven Community Church as been a mean for God to do many amazing things. This week we will look back as we look forward to what God has done, is doing and will do through the people and overall call of Haven Community Church.

So often, do you ever feel like you need a fresh start. You realize what you have been doing, really isn’t working. Like always, you could continue to do what you’ve always done and choose what you want now over what you really desire.
As Jesus followers, what you must come to realize is there is something better waiting for you than what you usually settle for in life. However, when you stay focused on who God says you are and what He wants for your life without being distracted by the other things, that’s when we move toward and eventually come to the True Reward.

God has given each of us the capacity to feel deeply. A vast majority of us, love the good feelings; yet, don’t want to experience the bad feelings. In fact, we might even try to repress them. When we can better process our powerful emotions, we can start to understand how He will use them for His good. Bring your “feels” & I’ll bring mine in this new message series, My Emotions.

According to the National Institutes of Health research, more than 70% of Americans report having one or more “unreasonable” fears. Basically, so many people live their lives paralyzed by fear. In this series, kNOw Fear, we are going to address fears of failure, rejection, closeness, and fear of losing it. In 2 Timothy 1:7 we are told that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power.” With that truth in mind, and this series, we will experience the power of God to overcome these fears.
