Dr. Andrea Hilkovitz is an External Funding Coordinator for the Graduate College at Texas State University. Dr. Hilkovitz is also the university’s primary coordinating official for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF-GRFP), where she helps eligible students prepare competitive applications.

Christopher McDonald is a senior biochemistry major at Texas State University and someone we are fortunate to call a friend. After years as an active research assistant, Chris is now interviewing with several Ph.D. programs.
Dr. Tania Betancourt is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University. As a Hispanic woman with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Betancourt is part of a small fraction of all scientists and engineers. In addition to being the principal investigator of the Betancourt Research Laboratory, she is also director of PREM, the new program that works to strengthen the pipeline of students in materials science and STEM careers through research and education.
