We'll explore what it truly means to be a good friend and the wisdom of choosing your travel companions wisely. Ever found yourself caught up in the whirlwind of negativity, especially when scrolling through those endless book reviews? Well, my friends, in this week's heart-to-heart, we're flipping the script and spotlighting the power of positivity. You'll hear all about the drama that unfolded during a book tok beef—a reminder of how easily we can get dragged down when we fixate on the things that don’t jive with us. But here's the twist: I share my personal mantra on book reviews, where if a read doesn’t spark joy, it simply doesn’t make the cut for discussion. It's all about embracing what resonates and letting go of the rest, fostering a community that’s rooted in support rather than criticism.
As we navigate the complexities of single parenting, from school events that tug at our heartstrings to those precious moments of peace, I open up about finding gratitude amidst the chaos. This episode is an ode to the silver linings that bolster us through tough times, and it’s a call to arms to uplift each other by focusing on the good. And for those yearning to be part of the conversation, I extend an invitation to connect with me on social media, whether it’s a chat on Instagram or sharing your story as a guest on the podcast. When the weight of the world seems to rest squarely on your shoulders, how do you lift it off? That's what we get into with the exceptional Bootsy—a pro boxer turned musician with a penchant for shunning drama. Together, we unpack the art of living a drama-free life, despite the pain that life can deal out. Bootsy brings a robust conversation to the table, weaving through his musical influences and how Tupac's "Me Against the World" mirrors his own journey.
Grief is a beast that shapes us in ways we never anticipate, and during our talk, I share the personal haunt of losing over 15 loved ones. The toll on mental health is immeasurable, and Bootsy and I don't shy away from the tough stuff—discussing the importance of supportive listeners and the potential dangers of vulnerability. We also peel back the curtain on the balancing act of nurturing relationships while honoring our own mental space, a tightrope many know all too well.
Parenthood and dating—what a combo. Here, I get real about the judgments and obstacles single parents face on the dating scene, backed by Bootsy's insightful commentary. And because music is often the salve to life's wounds, we reflect on the way tunes from the likes of Joe Budden and the Lost Boys have both soothed and opened old scars, while also fueling our creative fires. Hang with us for this episode—it's an audio journey through the highs and lows of life's complex tapestry, with lessons and laughter along the way.

Ever wrestled with the chaos of a disorganized heart, swinging wildly between craving closeness and yearning for space? My own journey from a tangle of anxious attachments to a haven of self-assuredness is the map this episode unfurls. I get personal, recounting a viral tale of my own relationship turmoil, revealing how the push-and-pull of disorganized attachment styles can manifest in one's life. It's a candid exploration of past loves, the echo of feeling overlooked, and the double-edged sword of sharing too much with someone new. As we navigate these waters, I also illuminate the crucial act of recognizing and tending to our own emotional needs to cultivate healthier bonds.
This conversational voyage also casts a light on the heartache of unreturned affection and the sage wisdom found in choosing oneself over unworthy situations. The nights spent overanalyzing a lost love are swapped out for empowering realizations about self-worth and the folly of expecting change from stagnant waters. We then pivot to a friend's quandary on forgiving infidelity, where I confront the tough realities of self-respect amidst the complexity of attachment woes. Through this, I invite you to join me as I reflect on the paradox of dishing out hard truths while grappling with my own vulnerabilities, all the while encouraging a shared passage towards self-awareness and personal growth.

Today's episode I discussed the difference between abstinence and celibacy. I shared a Facebook post I read in a group and my thoughts surrounding it and then I went into a brief story time about a guy who tried to spin the block but didn't have power steering fluid. This and so much more.
The affirmations shared today were:
I am not my fears.
I rise above my insecurities.
I have the courage to be seen.
It is safe for me to be my authentic self.
I bring light to those around me.
I am safe. I am protected. I am loved.
My strength is greater than any struggle.
I can do hard things.
I release self-criticism and choose self-love.
I am worthy, inside and out.
I am enough, just as I am.
I am radiant. I am stunning. I am beautiful.
I love myself fully. I am always worthy. I matter.
When I started showing up as the woman I wanted to be, the world began responding to me; showing me all the different ways I needed to keep moving, and healing, and growing,
and stretching beyond myself, beyond anything I had ever reached before.
When I started showing up as the woman I wanted to be, the world led me to a place where I could finally say:
'I am her.'
Scriptures of the week are:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Philippians 4:6 NIV
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:7 NIV

Today's episode Key discusses what a soft girl era means to her in response to Summer Walker's new interview on Caresha Please.
Below are the affirmations shared in the intro:
Success, happiness and wealth follow you everywhere you go.
And Just like that you knew it was finally time to trust yourself, and create the life you want.
In a few months you’re going to look back and laugh at your current situation and circumstances. Everything that seems so challenging right now will be a distant memory. You’ll only remember the lesson of it all but not the stress associated with it.
You don’t chase.
You attract.
God has your best in mind.
Everything you want flows to you effortlessly.
You are protected and surrounded by positivity.
**It took me awhile to develop a voice but now that I have one, I’ll never be silent again.
Because I am enough.
I was enough.
I will always be enough.
Today's scripture came from John 15:13
N**o one has greater love than to give up one’s life for one’s friends.

**There’s a new interview with Da’Naia Jackson the estranged with of Derrick Jaxn that just went live on the dearfuturewifeypodcast where she talked about how her husband’s infidelities ultimately destroyed her self confidence.
Here are a couple of bible verses for self worth:**
Hebrews 10:35–36
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Hebrews 13:6
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
Every single verse on this list reinforces that we can have confidence because God is enough and, in Him, we are enough.

Here are the affirmations shared on this show as promised:

I forgive and release the past.
My heart is healing every day.
I release any resentment or anger from my body.
I am grateful for the opportunity to grow.
My emotional wounds are healing.
I forgive myself.
I fully love and accept myself.
My future is looking brighter every day.
I release the need for control.
I trust that everything will work out for my highest good.
Everything is going to be ok.
I create space for my emotions.
I am grateful for the support that surrounds me.
My mind is open to new possibilities.
I am worthy of love and respect.
I know I am going to get through this.
Self love and compassion are qualities I cultivate.

Today's Scripture:

Key introduces the intentions of the month which are as follows:
I intend to lead by example.
I intend to love myself unconditionally.
I intend to stop taking things personally.
I intend to manifest happiness naturally.
I intend to see the goodness around me.
I intend to be kind, even when under pressure.
I intend to make someone smile every day.
I intend to freely forgive others and myself.
I intend to make mindfulness an important part of each day.
I intend to suspend judgment and accept life as it is in the moment.
With the holidays approaching for some this is their favorite time of year but with others it maybe difficult due to loss of loved ones or a change in relationship status etc. Seasonal depression is a thing (which we will talk about later ) so I just want to remind you to be kind and gentle with yourself . It’s completely okay to feel the way that you feel but try to find one thing positive to focus your attention on..
Some days may be better than others but we will get through this together!
