From its foundation in the humanities, social sciences, and education, the Alfred Deakin Research Institute will promote research that integrates knowledge generated from a broad range of disciplines in ways that address problems of local, national and international importance.

The Alfred Deakin Prime Ministerial Library is the latest addition to an informal association of Prime Ministerial Libraries around Australia. It houses Alfred Deakin's research collection and materials related to Western Victoria. A full set of Deakin's personal papers is available on microfilm with online access to sections of the papers which have been digitised by the National Library of Australia.
