Seeds Of Faith: Recent Episodes

Francesca

Seeds of Faith sprang from the desire to create a source of encouragement and guidance. Its aim is to spread the Word of God, through the lessons found in the Book of Books. Deeply rooted in the love of the Lord, this podcast is envisioned as the tool of God to bring those weakened seeds back to a life full of faith, hope and joy.

Faith Fights all Fears.

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Mat. 17:20).

We recap the last episode in which the unnamed woman was dehumanised through physical abuse by multiple men and assassination with consequent cutting of the body into pieces. Episode 13 draws how Christianity and culture relate, by looking at Judges chapters 20 and 21, with a war leading to a genocide, and the dehumanisation of 400 women, traded and forced to marry strangers.

How does cultural relativism relate with women abuse and gender inequality? Lawrenta Igoh gives us a detailed explanation of how women are objectified both in the times of the Bible and today. So, whose responsibility is it to fight for human rights?

Warning: this episode deals with a sensitive topic regarding violence, murder and atrocities committed on a woman. Speak out with me, as I unwrap a very painful topic. Episode 12 can be seen as a monologue of suffering, caused by a disturbing reading in Judges 19. The chapter describes the story of an unnamed woman who is sacrificed to a group of rapists, who abuse her sexually for a whole night. A woman objectified and given away instead of a man. How far off is this from the reality we live in today? One of the artificers of such cruelty is her husband, who then kills her and cuts her into twelve pieces. Click on this episode to hear the full version and join your voice with mine, to speak out, stand up and fight against sexual abuse and gender disparity.

This episode shows us how important it is to search for the blessing, even when it feels as if there is no way out. God is going to take you out of that tunnel and use you for a greater purpose. The example of Naomi, who lost the people she loved the most, makes us realise how God's work on you has not finished yet. How do you react when you experience loss?

A key verse is to be found in Mark 4:40 "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" In this episode we analyse the contrast between the fear of the disciples - sprung from the storm - and the peace of the Lord Jesus on the boat.  How many times do you fear the storm is going to hit you? Well, you shouldn't worry, because Jesus is not going to leave you alone in the middle of the storm, He's ready to shout at the waves to quiet the water down. Don't let negative external situations affect your inner peace. John 13:7 says: "You do not realise now what I am doing, but later you will understand". We can't always be in control of what happens around us or within our life sphere. Have faith in God's plans. We often want things done now, but we need to learn how to be patient and faithful.  Be the passenger. Let God be the Captain of your boat.

In this episode, we'll explore the power of faith through obedience and trust. Looking at two Biblical examples - Noah and Ananias - we'll see how those two characters behaved at the commandment of the Lord. Noah's faith went far beyond just building an ark, and Ananias could have just gone to knock at his assassin's door. Instead, both of them were blessed by the Lord, thanks to their faith. And you, do you have faith in the storm and in the darkness?
