TIME OUT - TOP PODCAST REPLAY Coach Gord is taking a personal TIME OUT and will be releasing a top downloaded podcast or two from early 2020... Thanks for all your ongoing support and enjoy these again or for the first time...! It is quite easy to define your value or worth based on what you do in life because we equate power with position and title. For most people, it can be easy to get caught up in the things that are visible for everyone to see whether you are a star athlete, a real estate investor or business owner etc... We sometimes have to remind ourselves that who we ARE is actually more important than what we do. This simple statement is easy to forget, but it’s something we could all use as a daily reminder. In my own personal journey, there have been times when I put more value on what I am able to do as a coach and as a mindset specialist than celebrating who I am as a person. Enjoy this short message with some thoughts and reminders I hope will bring you back to who you are...
TIME OUT - TOP PODCAST REPLAY Coach Gord is taking a personal TIME OUT and will be releasing a top downloaded podcast or two from early 2020... Thanks for all your ongoing support and enjoy these again or for the first time...!
Whether in sports or in business, mental toughness may often appear to be instinctive in top performers but it’s actually a set of skills and tools that anyone can learn and develop. You must have the right MINDSET if you want to have success in anything. It doesn’t matter if you are trying to create a championship team or start a successful business; the behavioral and psychological principles are always the same. Average performers tend to quit long before they ever reach their goals and dreams. They allow discouragement, fear and self-doubt to keep them from achieving their true potential. The common denominator amongst those who fail consistently is a lack of mental toughness and a fixed mindset. This week's Time Out message shares the secret to developing more mental toughness in your life so more of your objectives, goals, and dreams become a reality...! Thanks for joining me. Make it a great day...!

Learning HOW to engage other people started the day we began to interact a few months into life when we gained control of our physical motor functions... As a baby, we would pull hair or even bite others without knowing it was not the way to engage other humans. As we got older the same thing, don't say that and don't do that, and so on. To have good relationships and influence with others, it's not that you engage, it's HOW you engage people...! Take a TIME OUT and see what I mean... When we think of a Mindset, most people associate that with the different ways that people think and behave to process their thoughts to live their daily lives. A person’s mindset is usually a set of beliefs, methods, or ideas to establish an individual personal pathway, philosophy of life and/or how they view the world. Your Mindset declaration to being “Growth” or “Fixed” is your recognition of the set of learned behaviors that outline your philosophy of life and is an ongoing journey. Establishing and learning a Mindset Continuum simplifies the journey by understanding how to develop a pathway to becoming progressively more growth-oriented in your Mindset. Welcome to this week’s TIME OUT and the Mindset Continuum… what is it and how to leverage it… Thanks for tuning in… Enjoy…!
Mental Health and Wellness has been a very big focal point of discussion, especially in the past 4-5 years. It seems to have a very big effect on athletics, business, family life, and school as well there seems to be no discrimination. We don’t like to be uncomfortable and we certainly don’t like to hurt. If you know the price to pay it won't be that painful, but if you don't act on what you want to do or say to be successful you could regret it forever...and that's painful! Let's take a TIME OUT and talk about the 2 Pains and what they're all about... Thanks for tuning in...Enjoy.

With the fast pace of life and the need to get things done, it is very easy for a Coach or a Leader to be very busy all the time. Not many people deliberately take a TIME OUT to just sit and THINK. One of my favorite topics of study and research as well as discussion is influence. Every day we use the powers of influence through connection, rapport persuasion and even selling our ideas to others. Whether you need to get your kids to do their chores or do home work, lead or manage people at work or even sell to customers, getting people to follow your input or trying to get people to change their minds is a valuable skill to possess. I am going to share my 4E Method of Influence that will very likely help you to start winning people to your way of thinking. Grab a pen and paper, take a little Time Out and enjoy the message.

Every single person ever born does not have the natural ability to develop and build great relationships with other people. These are called "people skills" or "soft skills" that have to be taught to us over a period of many years when we are younger. Like any other skill, they can be learned and mastered so we can experience regular success at connecting with others. We can ALL become better at building relationships by learning specific connection skills at the front end of our interactions and that will help us to have many solid relationships throughout life. Without good connections, it will be very difficult to build good relationships. This episode will provide 3 simple keys to help us all make better connections. Enjoy your Time Out with Coach Gord and thanks for tuning in...!

I have been a coach trainer and mentor for well over 1000 coaches in my 20 plus years of providing mentorship and behavioral insights to athletic coaches. I have also provided leadership and business development for 1000's of business managers and leaders. I have heard the same story from countless athletes and countless employees as well, that they QUIT their team or QUIT their job because they hated their coach or hated their boss. Many times I have heard from dozen and dozens of people (athletes and employees alike) who are all too happy to tell me how rude and awful their coach or boss was, and how they didn't understand them, didn't use them to their full potential, or didn't give them a fair opportunity so they QUIT. So, I did some research to find out what the actual reasons were that made people quit their job or their team. I found the top 5 things that are common for both athletes and employees as to WHY they HATE their coaches or boss and I will give you 5 more bonus things as well. So, take a Time Out and BUCKLE UP, and let's see if you have experienced any of these as well...! Thanks for joining me...!
