God will deliver His faithful people through drought and follow it up with showers of blessing. Always remember that—both physically and spiritually, rain comes from God alone. God showers His blessing by the revival, rediscovery, and reformation of His Word. God will bring rain in its season. Pray for Rain.
The heart of Christians should be seen in a life consumed with building Christ's Church to leave to their children for their continual, covenanted commitment to a life centered around glorifying God's name. Have a Burning Heart for Building Christ's House.

Christians can point unbelievers to God witnessing to His Own Self by giving everyone ample self-sufficient evidence in His supplying them rain and thus their enjoying its sustenance. God Gives Himself a Witness to the World by Giving Us All Rain.

Where God places His name in worship is where His people should place their first financial fruits. Your Tithe Takes Care of God's Ministry.
When we fall and fail, we must be broken and crushed in repentance to seek and enjoy mercy. When You Fall and Fail, Contrition Will Deliver You.

God's people and prepare to fight the good fight of faith because they know it is God Who will fight for them. Be Prepared to Fight the Good Fight, and Often Your Enemies' Fearful Threats will Fizzle. Because Our God Shall Fight for Us.
God's people are to only eat in a manner that is not an abomination to Him but rather His glorification. Eat and Drink to God's Holy Glory.
When aggravated anger of God's enemies toward the work of His people with a real threat of attack that can cause the Church to emotional exhaustion and possibly interrupt the work, God's leaders must prepare His people with prayer, a plan of defense, and motivational preaching that can stop the threat and keep the people going. Be Prepared to Fight the Good Fight, and Often Your Enemies' Fearful Threats will Fizzle.
God's separated people who have the certainty of eternal life in Christ and the resurrection should not grieve the death of their loved ones in the Lord like the world but distinctively show their holy hope in heaven. Don't Grieve Your Deceased Brethren with a Worldly Lack of Hope in Heaven.
God's call on His people to live a clean, holy, separate, sanctified life that honors His name is because of who they are as He has made them in Himself and their own identity and reputation in Christ. As God's Blessed People Be Blessed.
The response of God's leaders to growing reproach by God's enemies should be increasing in prayer for God to intervene so that God's people respond in continuing to make progress building Christ's church. When Oppressed, Keep Praying and Making Progress.
Because God has heard our cry to live and answered, "Yes," let us live all our lives loving Him. Let Us Love the Lord for Letting Us Live.
While some live longer, we all only have very little time on this earth that is full of sorrowful living. Your Days on this Earth Are Numbered.

When God's people and their situation seem insignificant and insecure during times of reformation, they need to see themselves as God does and rejoice in what He has begun, is doing, and will finish in and through them. Having God's gift of faith is the reason anyone can see and profess the Gospel or anything else as true.
What one does with their lives, good or bad, expresses and extends joyful or sorrowful living. Rejoice in Being Righteous and Doing What's Right.
The words of God in His Word must be carefully considered and kept in heart and life by His people. Give Jesus All Your Attention.
There is no one like the Lord Who alone exists in glorious holiness and does wonderful works of salvation. Your God is Glorious in Holiness.
The one who is willing to lose his life now for Jesus finds it forever in Jesus. We are Blessed to Belong with the Losers.
The wide way of life that the majority is going is the wrong way to follow because it leads to eternal death. The Wide Way is the Wrong Way.
God's good leaders rebuild and build up His Church in every generation managing good organization and delegation by the will of God and the humble, unified, good will of His people. Build as Christ's One Risen Body.
One Christian can cause many foes to flee because it is their God Who fights for them. Because God Fights for You, Through You Your Many Foes Will Flee.

God will let His people's life and love be tested to purify them against strong influences toward blaspheming Him through disloyal behavior that is inconsistent for those who bear His name. Only Love and Live for God.
Taking heed unto ourselves to not be engaging in idolatrous worship is all ultimately about identifying the true God as our God. Wear Christ's Name Well in How You Worship Him.
Good leadership that motivates God's people to build Christ's church will face evil opposition to discourage and stop it. When You Do Good You Will Face Evil.
God provides for His people through their prayers, planning, and persons. Be Prepared for God to Provide.
A vital aspect of not giving into idolatrous worship is to watch over our own hearts and lives. Take Heed to Keep Thyself from Idols.
After God's people guide their prayers from adoration into confession and thanksgiving, they are best prepared to lift up their supplications asking for Him to provide and prosper their calling—and they need to! Close Your Prayers with Supplication.
God wants His people to understand the difference between worship service and ever day life. Have Discernment with What is and Isn't Worship.
After God's people continue from adoration in their prayers to personal and corporate confession, they should transition into a time of thanksgiving. Transition Your Prayers into Thanksgiving.
Avoiding idolatrous worship includes maintaining respect for the life of souls secured in Christ as represented in the blood of animals. Your Life is in Christ's Blood Alone.
The way God's people should continue their prayers after opening with adoration is to confess their personal, family, church, and national sins. Continue Your Prayers with Confession.
When God's people get rid of idolatrous worship and replace it with the place, time, and way God chooses, their pure fellowship with Him and one another produces joyful fellowship feasting. Reject Your Idols to Rejoice With God Together.
The way God's people should open their prayers is to first acknowledging His awesome glory. Open Your Prayers with Praise.
God alone chooses the way in which His people are to worship Him. God Chose You to Worship Him How He Chooses.
The response of God's people to tragic news that requires a careful, concerted, reconstructing response is first to pray. Before Taking Action, Pause in Prayer.

Chapter 9, Direction 1- Endeavor to get a deep and thorough sense and conviction of the great sin and evil of this your special iniquity- 2- Be earnest and importunate in prayer to God ... for pardon and power ... special grace and strength against your special sins- 3- You who are believers ... add faith in Christ and the lively, vigorous actings of it upon Him- 4- Make use of the sword of the Spirit and the examples of saints- 5- Starve and sever them- 6- Grow in their opposite graces.
God's word of grace is able to build up the people of God. Grow in Grace by God's Word.

Because we are in the last days that will be dissolved soon in Christ's fiery judgment at His return on the Last Great Day that is nearer and nearer every day, Christians should be living holy, godly lives that expectantly witness to the pending doom non-Christians face unless they repent and help the Day along by sharing the Gospel with everyone everywhere immediately and often. Seize the Day While Today is the Day of Salvation.

Ch. 5, -The Reasons of the Doctrine-- 1- they are those that most dishonour God- 2- to keep from such corruptions is special fruit of true evangelical sorrow and repentance- 3- keeping from such will evidence the power of King Jesus over these master-sins and lordly lusts- and 4- this will be an evidence of the truth and strength of our love to God and Jesus Christ when we will deny them nothing.

Tonight we begin a supplemental study of the Puritan John Whitlock's sermons through Psalm 18-23 in the book, -The Great Duty of Keeping Ourselves from Iniquity,- recently reprinted by Dr. Don Kistler -of our own RPCGA- and his Northampton Press. Though the bodies of God's people cannot escape decay and death in this life, they will be raised into glorious eternal life by the resurrected Jesus on the Last Great Day. Know You Shall Stand and See Your Living Redeemer.
God Who is judge and just over all will not be manipulated by any man's position nor will He be bribed by anyone. God is Not a Respecter of Persons.

This sermon looked at the name and witness of the 3 or 4 men named Gaius in the NT, mostly studying 3 John written entirely to a -Gaius,- in connection with Pastor and his wife revealing the chosen name of their eighth covenant child and fifth covenant son, Gaius Ezekiel Van Leuven.--Disclaimer- it was said there are 15 verses in 3 John. In English there are 14. Pastor worked with the Greek and in his printed copy there are 15 verses and that influenced him to think he must have missed noting the numbers -the text is the same-. He plans to look into this to understand, but in English there are 14 verses. --John says Christians, especially Church leaders, need to be reliably hospitable in brotherly love for Christ's truth with one another, especially other Christian leaders, even when other leaders in the Church make it hard to do. May this Church Remember Your Name Like Gaius.
Of all that God completely owns, He specially chooses His Church alone to love. God Chose and Loves to Love You.

To not fall from faith one must grow in grace and familiarity and fellowship with Christ its Giver. Grow in Grace.
God makes sure His people know that they are indeed going into the Promised Land, but despite the fact that He should destroy them for their unrighteousness and only because of Christ's covenant of grace. Christians, you don't deserve heaven. Christians, you only get heaven through Christ alone. Christians, you only get heaven by merciful grace alone. Therefore, Christians, move forward toward heaven. Persevere and Proceed to the Promised Land by Christ and Grace Alone.
It is by God's true grace that a Christian stands in sanctified resistance against Satanic forces. You Stand in God's Grace.
Christ's last words to His Church communicate unmerited favor. Your Jesus Greets You With Abounding Grace.
We continue with Thomas Watson's study of the second part of the sixth petition of the Lord's Prayer, -And deliver us from evil,- finishing the other sins to take heed of- those that attend your particular callings and having even the appearance of evil. Next, we look at the first 8 of 13 means to use to be kept from acts of sin- -1- labour to mortify original sin- -2- think what an odious thing sin is- -3- get the fear of God planted in your hearts- -4- let us be careful to avoid all the inlets and occasions of sin. Run not into evil company- -5- study sobriety and temperance- -6- be continually upon your spiritual watch- -7- consult the oracles of God- be well versed in Scripture- -8- get your hearts fired with love to God -His glorious beauty and His amazing love-.
Christians are no longer whatever the world and their sinful patterns defined them as because their identity is now in Christ and marked by His Spirit, and so they can and do live differently. You Are No Longer Who You Were.
There is a danger of being blind to our own sins and a need for God to show and save us from them. Beware of Your Blindness to Your Own Sins. Be Blessed in Your Savior Who Helps You See and Saves You from Your Sins. Always Be Examining Yourself and Your Savior.
Tonight we continue studying the second part of the sixth petition of the Lord's Prayer guided by Thomas Watson with His first three uses of previous studies- Take heed of sins of omission, secret sins, and besetting -pet- sins. The most attention was given to -besetting sins- warning that they are -1- most cherished as the master of all other sins and most tended and waited upon- -2- the darling sins one loves not to be reproved for- -3- those sins which have most power over a man, and most easily lead him captive as the beloved of his soul- -4- the darling sins which men use arguments to defend- -5- Those beloved sins which most trouble a man, and fly in his face in an hour of sickness and distress- -6- Those darling sins which a man is most unwilling to part with. Tonight we continue to study the second part of the sixth petition of the Lord's Prayer, -And deliver us from evil -of sin and sinning-,- with Thomas Watson. First, he continues from our study last time with the fact that affliction is better than sin and magnifies Christians as a sign of their sonship, a way to bring honour to religion, and receiving prayers of God's people for suffering for Christ- and, though affliction can only hurt a man while living, sin hurts him when he is dead. In fact, sin is also worse than death and worse than hell. Thus we should look upon sin's dismal affects, an seek more to be cured from it than other pains- admire the wonderful patience of God that bears with sinners- recognize there is no little sin- see all personal and national troubles come from sin- see how little reason has any one to be in love with sin- see how foolish are those who make light of sin- infer there is no good to be got by sin- see the folly of those who venture upon sin for the passing pleasure they have in it- recognize it is wisdom to depart from sin- see how justifiable and commendable are all those means which are sued to keep me from sin- acknowledge what a bad choice they make who choose to sin to avoid affliction- agree that Christians should make it all their care to keep from sin in life- and resolve that sin should make us long for and hope in heaven.
Because our new Christian spirits still struggle to conquer our old man, we must pray for the Holy Spirit to proactively guide us away from temptation and into holiness. To Not Enter Into Temptation, Pray.
Christians must not give the devil an opportunity to divide and destroy their relationships by way of unjust anger. Don't Give the Devil a Foothold in Your Life with Sinful Anger.
Tonight Thomas Watson's book on the Lord's Prayer, studying the second part of the sixth petition, -but deliver us from evil-, we compare and contrast affliction with sin and see it is better to be afflicted than to sin, because- -I-- Sin is the cause of affliction, and the cause is more than the effect- -2- God is the author of affliction- -3- Affliction reaches the body only, and makes that miserable, but sin makes the soul miserable- -4- Afflictions are good for us but sin is not for our good- -5- In affliction, conscience may be quiet- but when a man commits a presumptuous, scandalous sin, conscience is troubled- -6- In affliction we may have the love of God, but when we commit sin God withdraws his love- -7- There are many encouragements to suffer affliction--God himself suffers with us- -8- When a person is afflicted, he suffers alone- but by sinning openly he hurts others- -9- In affliction the saints may rejoice, but sin is a matter of shame and grief, not of joy- -10- Affliction magnifies a person -more on this in the next study-.
A good request of God is for more of the Holy Spirit working in our lives on our way and witnessing toward heaven. Hope in Heaven and in the Holy Spirit.
Personal evils and harm done to us are to be responded to with courageous, gracious, deferential good. Turn the Other Cheek.

A natural desire for we who have entered into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ is to get to know Him more and more- and this involves experiencing Christ's presence by partnering with Him through victories and afflictions. May Your Heart's Cry be to Get More Familiar with Jesus through Deeper Fellowship. You Will Get to Know Jesus Better as You Grow in Grace in Holy Living for Him. You Will Get to Know Jesus Better as You Die to Yourself Suffering in Life for Him. Get to Know Jesus Better by Conquering and Suffering for Him.
The summary of the Ten Commandments reminds God's people that He gave them directly in an awesome voice and vision of His presence and even Personally wrote them down in stone to be permanent precepts for them. God's Ten Perfect Precepts are Permanent.

God's people must control how they care about what is their neighbors and also is not theirs. Control Your Cravings for What Others Have. Commit to being Content with What You Have. Direct Your Desires.
Whatever we might boast about as relatively righteous before men we must count as an absolutely worthless liability and revolting before God so we put all our confidence in Christ's righteousness alone. You Must Reject All Your Imagined Righteousness as Revolting to God. You Must Receive Christ's Righteousness Alone to be Received by God. Your Confidence and Comfort is in Christ Alone.

It covers what is a covenant, the fact that covenantal theology is the basis of interpreting all Scripture and understanding salvation, the Covenant of Works, and introduce what comes next- what Adam could or could not have earned in the Garden before the Fall, and the Covenant of Grace.
Christians are called to rejoice in Jesus and the free Gospel of grace in Him alone against false gospels of ourselves and our own worthless works as necessary to be saved. You know false Christians by their forcing faith PLUS works to be right with God. You know true Christians by their insisting on salvation by faith alone- Rejoice in the Lord's Glorious Grace.
We must not -murder- -not all killing violates this command-. Do not destroy or neglect any human life. Honor and preserve all human life. Preserving life starts with our hearts. Respect and Protect Life.

In Christ's restoring of the man called -Legion- to a sound mind, we learn that, Troubled people can be helped and healed by a direct, confrontational encounter with Jesus. People acting crazy aren't helped by this crazy world by treating them like they're crazy. Dismissing people acting crazy is only trying to control and avoid them just like the world. Confronting people acting crazy with Jesus is what is needed for everyone's sanity. People Who Act Crazy Need to be Confronted with Christ.
Because Jesus has an eternal priesthood He can save you both now and forever. You cannot save yourself and no one else can save you even at the innermost. Jesus alone CAN save you no matter how deep or far you have gone. Jesus is Able to Save You to the Uttermost
God calls His people to test Him with their tithing- He will show them that He will make them fruitful more than they can imagine. God is Richly Rewarding Your Faithful Tithing.
It wise to prefer listening to the rebuke of the wise to improve you rather than the flattery of fools to use you. Wisely and Lovingly Receive Righteous Rebukes.
There are times for everything including silly play time. It is Righteous and Required to Recreate. Westminster Larger Catechism Q-A 135 and 136 are consulted.
As we look high and low and within and without we find that only God is always there to meet us and our needs now and forever as only He can. God is All You Need.
Jesus delighted to do God's will, which was to preach and suffer through sacrifice. Delight to Bend Your Will to God's Will.
It is wise to carefully reserve your resources so you don't spend them up and have no savings. Don't foolishly spend away all of your money and have nothing when you really need it. Wisely build up your resources to be a blessing to you and others always. Live Within Your Means and Slowly Save Big.

Though appropriate anger is often appropriate, there is also an appropriate way to deal with it to protect against letting it develop into destructive sin. Unjust Anger is Wrong and Dangerous.
Paul commands Christians to be angry. Appropriate Anger is Appropriate -and even necessary-.
In all of life, Jesus will never, never, never, never, never LEAVE His Church nor Her members. Your Prince is Perpetually Present with You. Jesus will never, never, never, never, never FORSAKE His Church nor Her members. Your Christ Constantly Keeps Covenant with You. God Will Never Leave You.
God beckons us to call on Him for help with the promise that He will help us. Call on God Because He Will Deliver You.

Paul tells the elders to train the various members of the church how to live as patterns for one another to follow so to that their family life witness to one another gave a good witness to the world of their life in Christ together. All people in God's holy household should show the watching world that they are faithful family members by- 1- Fulfilling their God-given roles- and 2- by teaching those under their authority and care to fulfill their similar Christian family roles. Those that are warped and self-deforming in the Church must be disciplined- and if they persist in dividing and destroying the Church they must be ejected. Some people in church will only serve to destroy her. Such divisive people must be dismissed before too much damage is done. Undeterred, Divisive Church Members Must be Ejected.
God's kindness to us is abundant and must overflow through us to others. Overflow with Thankfulness for God's Abundant Graciousness.
Those with whom God has close and saving fellowship are the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. For you who humbly draw near to God, He will draw near to you. Humble yourselves before God that He would lift you up in Christ. Be Broken Hearted and Crushed in Spirit.
In Isaiah 66-2, we learn that, God gives His supportive attention only to those who stand at attention with what He has said. Tremble at God's Word.
The sacrifice of pouring ourselves out over Christian ministry should be cause of our ever rejoicing. Humbling yourself for the ministry of Christ and unity of His body is real sacrifice. Your self-sacrifice for the Church's ministry for Christ receives His joy unspeakable. Rejoice to be Poured Out Over Ministry.
God's name should not be used empty of respect, and He will fill those who do so with fear. Fear using God's name to manipulate His reputation in empty reverence Lift up God's name in exalted, praiseworthy, respectful filial fear for your Father. If you use God's name in empty ways He will fill you with fear for doing so. Fear God's Name.

Do your part to maintain purity of worship.Give where it counts. Put Your Money Where Your LORD is.
Paul calls Christians not to grumble and dispute against God and the ministry so that the minister's work is not void of meaningful progress in the light within each member and especially the Church. Shine as the light of the world that you are. Don't snuff out your light with murmuring and disputing. Don't lose your witness in this dark world by acting and becoming one with it. Shine As Lights to Not Snuff Out the Ministry.
Sanctify God in your hearts with hearts and hands free from idolatry by true spiritual worship. Don't dirty and bloody your hands with false, idolatrous hearts. Keep your hands and hearts pure with true spiritual worship and service of God alone. By keeping your hearts clean of idolatry you hand over a loving legacy of true spirituality to your covenant children. Worship God in Spirit and Truth.
God calls on Christians to work out their salvation unto the end with the confidence of knowing God is working in and through them toward the ultimate End. Bear fruit. From the Root. We Will Work Out God's Will by His Working in Us.
The First Commandment. Because God loves His elect people unconditionally, we must love Him exclusively. Don't give your heart to any other god. Love only the LORD Your God. Sanctify the Lord God in Your Hearts.
The heavenly exaltation of Christ after His earthly humiliation encourages Christians to endure our own crosses for Him until we receive our own crowns. Rejoice that your crucified Jesus is now the most highly exalted LORD. Rejoice that because you are crucified in Christ you are seated in heaven with Him now privately and will be openly in eternity. Humble Yourselves in Christ and God Will Exalt You. --Part of the sermon neglected to include John 17-24- -Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am- that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me- for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. -
The preface to the Decalogue should motivate God's people to relate to Him by His law in love as the appropriate response to Him for having redeemed them into a covenant relationship with Him. God has redeemed you His Church. God is in a beautifully binding relationship with You His people. Thus relate to the Lord your Redeemer in Love. Lovingly Relate to Your Redeemer within Your Relationship.
Matthew 5-4- Those who cry over their sins will be happy because only they will be comforted with assurance. Isaiah 40-1-2- Because the sins of God's people have been doubly paid for, the rebuke upon them to produce remorse can be turned into words of comfort.
God's covenant people must keep His covenant. Remember you receive the law of the LORD as His redeemed. Live for your Redeemer Lord. Learn from the God Who redeemed you. Listen to your Redeemer God. Listen, Learn, and Live for your LORD.
Because God made this day and He is working our salvation in it we will choose to rejoice with and within it. Worship Through Your Hard Days and Hard Nights.
Just as the salvation of a sinner is cause for rejoicing by the angels before God in heaven, so should it be the cause of our rejoicing among one another before God on earth. Be Moved to Witness Salvation.
We must have self-control over our hearts and mouths so we say very little because our very big God is always everywhere and hears everything we say inside and out. Think Before You Speak.
God's marvelous ways of providence are beyond our puny ability to figure out. Marvel Over God's Mysterious Providence.

A topical sermon by request of Mr. Michael Delgado. Just as eating honey brings us physical refreshment and sustenance, so tasting of the Lord's wise Word brings us spiritual revival and survival. Sweeten Your Daily Life with Scripture. This section of the sermon near the conclusion was accidentally skipped over--Three warnings-----First, physically, don't give honey to children under 12 months old.----Second, Proverbs 25-16, 27 say its not good to eat too much honey- moderation is always important physically, but there the comparison is not with God's Word, which you can never eat too much of-----Third, it won't be sweet to everyone. Ezekiel 3-3ff-Revelation 10-9-10- those who don't love God and don't want to obey His Word will reject trying it as well as you for your loving it. This can make it bitter in your stomach. But be encouraged it will still have its enlivening, nutritious, and healing effects in your own life and linger with a sweet aftertaste always in your mouth and nose that sweetens your life all day long day after day.
Christ's example of ultimate humility to serve us as one is our ultimate example in motivating us to humble ourselves so we can serve one another in Christian unity. Have Christ's Humble Mind to Help His People.
God's people serve Him alone and enjoy the blessings only He can bestow because He alone is God. Know that your covenant God is alone God and there is no other God. So that you serve God alone with all your heart and enjoy all His blessings. God is God Alone and Alone Can Bless You So Serve Him Wholeheartedly.
The way to fulfill our calling to be as one is to focus on the needs of the other body members. Don't be rugged individualists. Instead have a soft-hearted care for one another's interests. Our Unity Depends on Your Humility.
God warns His people not to forget about the danger of idolatrous hearts because it misrepresents His invisibility and sole divinity and disastrously turns us away from Him and one another. Flee Idolatry.
Paul's call on Christ's church is to be united as one due to all their benefits in the God of Tri-unity. Be a reflection of the unity of the Trinity. Be united because of all your benefits bestowed upon you are by the unity of the Trinity. Together Reflect God's Tri-unity.
To live well and be a wise witness in this world we must be good students of God's Word. Live well. So you live wisely as a witness. The way of living well, wisely, and as a witness is by God's Word. Live Well and Wisely as a Witness by God's Word. A mistaken reference apply this text is corrected here- it should have been 1 Corinthians 10-8- -Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.-
In this third section of the historical prologue in God's covenant peace treaty with His people, we learn that God's call for His people to remember the victories He gave them in our past is to encourage us to trust that He will do so again in our future so that we make progress as more than conquerors in our present. Don't forget that you have had victory in Jesus so you will have victory in Jesus.-Don't forget that Jesus has been conquering the earth and you will inherit it. Remember not to be afraid of the world because God has put the fear of Him in you. Your Giant Battles Belong to the LORD.
Paul calls on the Church to follow his example in how to suffer as Christians for the glory of Christ. Accept and embrace suffering as part of your calling in Christ. Follow Paul and Christ's example of how to suffer for Christ. Suffer well for the sake of the reputation of Christ Who was the Suffering Servant. Suffer as Christians for Christ.
