To celebrate the brilliant 70s/80s UK tv show, 'The Tales of the Unexpected' we're going to watch them all and just chat about them... and whatever else pops into our minds
It's the start of a new era... the (much missed) Robless chapter, but a new chapter at least. Damo and Chris dig out the notepad and pens, and get stuck into this return to form, potentially Norwich based, tale.
With regular features like:
Settle down for nearly 2 hours of mobsters and opinion.
The train pulls into the final station!
We are back for the final part of this anthology so before Season 6 can begin properly, we need to let this behemoth of a special run it's course... or track.
Quick reminder for anyone just tuning in.
We have a plan and we are actually back but we probably need a bit of practice and maybe you need a reminder of what they actual do.
Chris and Damo decide to dust off the podcast mics, lubricate the voice boxes and watch one of those old style horror anthology movies and finally record some stuff to listen to.
If you're one of the faithful, give us a few moments to get used to speaking again... if you're new, you need to be warned: This is the most exhilarating podcasts you'll ever listen to but if you were captured, taken hostage and the hostage takers demand you explain why, you won't be able to find the right words. Trust us.
This three part special will be followed by season 6, so keep an eye out for business as usual style podcasts. For now, welcome to the rehearsal sessions.
This part 2 replaces the previous part 2 which I buggered up uploading. You've Damo to thank for getting it right... This is why I insist on working with proper podcasters. Keep the faith, people.
We are back... how the heck are you?

You'll noticed this is the second part (of two) so please catch up with part one first.
As previously stated, when we started recording, the idea was purely just to practice again - so splitting up the episode was all done as an afterthought... hopefully the transition isn't as jarring as I make it out to be in my waffle.
Podcasting will resume, so hang tight - maybe eave some reviews and tell your friends too, but definitely hang tight because we're ready to record more... We LOVE this podcast so much - it's lovely to share it with you all.
Speak soon x
Not so much a tale from the Tales... more a possible inspiration for what the Tales became.
It's Lady Killer featuring Jesus and we decided to take on one of the episodes from Thriller - if you're a fan of TOTU, you'll love this - watch along on youtube (here's a link to the episode) if you want and it'll save you searching out the boxset online... although, spoiler alert, we WILL be revisiting based on how this watch went - so maybe an amazon purchase would be better (I'm sure ebay could produce a result, but this link might save time)
I guess the elephant in the room is our absence. At no point was did an elephant give us reason to pause recordings... however no need to dwell on it right now - I'm sure it'll come up at some point but as this was our practice session, we just wanted to get back into the rhythm (whatever the rhythm of two middle aged friends is, obviously)
Well, if you're still listening to the show, that's great. We never stopped, just needed a break. Hope that's ok.
Tell a friend.
It's part 2 of our trip down the river, as we babble through Way Upstream to the dramatic conclusion.
Join me and Damo for another TOTU mid season special in preparation for the season 6 start.
Your patience is appreciated, and sorry I've been absent - at least you're not paying for this shite ay?
Anyway - if you've any reviews to post or feedback or whatever, let us know. Thanks everyone now enjoy the show.
join me and Damo for a little change in pace to the usual TOTU specials.
Its the meatiest episode we’ve ever attempted but it’s one heck of a journey… on a boat.
We’ll happily be your skippers as we navigate through the treacherous waters of Way Upstream.
(thanks for your patience by the way, we’re recording as we’re able so your support is, as always, incredible)
The last episode of season 5 is upon us.
It's gone on for ages (S5 recordings began long before lockdowns) but this season has provided a podcast show so much closer to how I wanted the episodes to sound and feel. And we found Damo too. Every part of this has felt brilliant so the fact we have any sort of listener base is just a dream. Thank you and enjoy Skeleton Key (With Damo!)

Welcome to the podcast. Only a few episodes of season 5 left and the first episode published direct to Anchor.fm, our new home.
Other than mentioning the episode includes a 5 minute (non-paid) promo right at the start for a project I've been involved in, this description serves as little more than getting used to the new controls and options I have with the new provider. Enjoy the show.
I've nothing much I want to add to this description than offering proof we have at least one other listener... we know this because he joins us in our first ever "plus special guest" episode. We take on the might of Peter Egan in the first of a two part...
Why not nip out for a lunchtime pint at Norwich's The Star with us as we celebrate a proper whodunnit
We join John Mills (again) who plays the number one safecracker in the world as he attempts the heist of the century. sort of.First part of the episode has some valuable medical advice - you don't want to miss that, especially if you have no concern...
included in the re-introduction episode:reasons why there was a breakinane convoplans for the futuredon't go anywhere (not that you can with the lockdown and that), more episodes are on the way super SOON
If I do say so myself, this is one of the best episodes we've recorded. Albeit one of the oddest tales in the collection to date... not in a good way.hopefully the dissection of what happens up to your standards. What I can promise, is a better mic set...
What better way to celebrate Halloween than sitting by a campfire telling urban legends
hello team! it's time for a chat about the tales of the unexpected. Now then. this episode is a little more to the point than other episodes - make of that what you will - but maybe those of you that enjoy us JUST talking about the show will like it -...
Yes we're back, it's been 14 days since your twofer weekend - make sure you listen to them... not that the Tale of the Unexpected episodes follow on from one another, but i'm certain that these podcasts are getting more listen-to-able as time goes on....
Welcome back. THAT’S RIGHT, its the second episode in this TWOFER weekend. The next episode will be in a fortnight, but this one is an added extra just to say sorry for not uploading last week as we’d intended (and promised)… right, enough brown...
Now then... here's an episode that pretty much sums up the reason why no one should be travelling abroad! too many goddamn vampires!... no... not vampires... SNAKES. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind snakes. at all - i just have a problem with them...
bit of an apology about how tardy i've been with getting episodes online. it's just been super busy at the moment. dont worry (as if you were), this podcast isn't stopping any time soon. we've plenty of episodes to get through.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL......
Hello listeners, or if you're a bit more pervy (which we like... just pin that thought) hello stalkers. Today's episode is a curious tale about why you shouldn't pick up hitch-hikers. As usual, Roald seems to get the wrong end of the stick with the...
Sorry for the delay ... let's not dick about any longer though WE'RE BACK with one of the oddest titles in the TOTU annals. Galloping Foxley is nickname given to a school tyrant and sparks off a chat about nicknames we give to people (that they don't...
Nice to see you again... this episode has an actual boob in it. So basically definitely one to watch (but obviously listen to us chat about it too yeah?) It unfortunately features some bad tattoo examples. So if you enjoy those ghastly shows on MTV and...
WELCOME BACK TO SEASON TWO. After our well earned break we're back with a bang and another memorable episode of the Tales of the Unexpected. There's plenty to talk about in this one... Bees. Boobs. Buzzing... boobs. Not only that though, we chat about...
sorry it's late, having a few 'instagram getting hacked and nobody is helping me' issues, but we're back*
Well, here we are guys... the end of season 1. Don't fret (not that you are) because we're only having a short break before season 2...
We're in the final furlong of season one and the first time we meet Mr Botibol in this 'bet gone wrong' fiasco drama. You're going to love this one after the cat one last time, but more than that, in this episode we have an ongoing problem with Dollars...
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY and welcome to your fortnightly TOTU treat. Every once in a while you hear a story from one of your mates and you're all like "errrrrm... what the actual heck are you going on about?" and then you realise they were probably just high...
JOAN COLLINS IN JODHPURS!!! Well, we've just realised that listening to two middle aged men discuss how sexy joan collins is probably wont tempt the masses... so, in this naughty episode of TOTU we'll be chatting about other things too, like; sausage...
in this VERY CREEPY episode of The Tales of the Unexpected we discuss this timeless classic "The Landlady". But thats not all because in between the in depth analysis, we also cover stories about eating an anus, mucky comedy films, hotels etiquette,...
an absolute classic. in this episode we put our best detective hats on and chat about that well known adage "find the weapon, you'll find the man". quiz show prizes in the 70's, microwave salesmen, how to cook lamb and the twisty turns of this brilliant...
today is a science special... its very 'episode 3' in that it isn't episode 1 or 2 or 5 or 11 for example. basically, you need to listen to this so that when you come back for episode 4, you can't say that you missed an episode. you get me?
great to see you back again. this week we're looking at a tale of misdirection. some classic 1970s decor, tv kissing and the purpose of a pawn shop... this episode is not suitable for vegans... or rodents.
Hey, its finally here... the wait is over... its the most best podcast you could wish for about the Tales of the Unexpected. welcome to the introduction episode where we explain what we're getting ourselves into. Make yourself at home.
In this first proper episode the tone is set... the tales are going to be dark, mysterious, nasty, comical and loads of fun to discuss. The man from the south inspired many story tellers to stay away from the obvious and play around with dark comedy....
