Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. The Constitution prohibits the establishment of religion, that is, picking one Christian denomination and making it the official church of the United States. An “established” religion would enjoy special favors that no other faith would enjoy. From my vantage point, Islam has now become the defacto established religion of the U.S. Muslims enjoy protections and privileges that Christians do not. For instance, Pastor Ramin Parsa was in the Mall of America when two Muslim women began asking him questions about his faith. Their quiet conversation was soon busted up by mall security which arrested the pastor for trespassing. He was kept in detention without water, food, or even access to a restroom for several hours. It took him seven months to get clear of the criminal charges against him. America’s informally established religion? Looks like it’s Islam from here.
