Welcome to "Driving with Quesha - Podcast". I'm so honored you'd stop by and allow me to talk your ear off with my faith-driven, lifestyle podcast. Every episode is unscripted. Sometimes I post in sequential order...other times not. By God's grace it all comes together. May you enjoy the ride that is my life, a living epistle, light in the darkness, crazy faith walker, lover of Jesus the Christ.
Sometimes it can be very comfortable to do what you've always done and continue to long for something better. But what would your life look like if you stopped simply longing for it and take actionable steps to see it come to pass? Good news: with God, you will be able to move forward with all the help you need. Just believe and walk by faith friends. scriptures I couldn't think of immediately: 1 John 5:8 (roaring lion) & 1 Corinthians 10:13 (temptation)
Sometimes it's hard to make the right decision. We don't always hear God's voice the same way in every season. And some have never heard His voice at all. To increase your discernment, sometimes we have to do what we "think" is right. But how do you know what's right if you don't know God? Start there -- start in a relationship with God to learn His voice.
There's so much more to the story and your options than what the media portrays. Whose voice are you listening to and who do you really serve as Lord of your life? The Bible is very clear about a lot of things. Maybe we can start going there for direction first and only instead of outside resources.
Do you struggle with fear? Well, please tune into this episode and get your freedom from fear my friend! Nothing is too hard for God! Be blessed!
Is death really so bad? Jesus faced it and showed us His victory over it. I'd never encourage any one to go through death any sooner or in any other way than what God intended. This episode is about when our time comes and if we will be ready. The way we perceive death should be one of victory and not fear when we have given our lives to Christ. Because then, we do not die but transition from the world to Heaven! Eternity with our loving God in a place with no tears, fears, worries or calories sounds great to me!
What does Marvel Endgame teach us about God's protection? I'm glad you asked. Join in on the excitement.
Wanna hear me sleepy talk your ear off about my emotional struggles? Than this is the podcast episode for you! But beware, there is sound spiritual truth in my words so get ready to be blssed.
Do you even know how capable you are? Do you really? Do you want to know? No one knows better than the One who made you. Do you know His voice? May you enjoy my rants about Captain Marvel and Onward as I find godly confirmations in the every day. Be blessed!
We interrupt your normal DWQ listening with a special rant about the pandemic. I am not driving because... "shelter in place" but I am enjoying some nachos at the beginning of this recording (sorry about that...I was hungry). Technically I didn't intend to share this but later, decided to. Watch and pray friends... watch and pray.
At first it seems like I'm just rambling but then this bomb of wisdom gets dropped towards the end. Oowee! Talk about the seemingly insignificant.
God provides! I will always encourage you to live your best life while depending on God. He's not broke. He's good and always will be. Seek Him for His plan for your life and flourish by faith, friends!
Haters is gonna hate but if you know you are doing what God has instructed you to do (& you Know you know that you know that you can hear His voice clearly) don't lose heart. You are progressing -- going from glory to glory -- with God. No matter the opposition, stay busy being a blessing and obeying God. Stay focused on the call of God on your heart.
Join me on all the tangents of this episode! I'm talking about God's promises, faith, the Holy Spirit and MORE! Be blessed by being a blessing, friends!
I'm literally faithing it my friends. I got hit with a serious financial woe this week and I'm choosing to praise God through the bad news. I refuse to move away from the Truth of what I know: God is FAITHFUL. He ain't broke. He came through uniquely before and He's still the God of miracles. I pray my faith in God would ignite yours. I thank God He is faithful -- not fickle -- unlike money. *correction from quoted comment: Romans 8:1
I'm constantly learning to appreciate the gifts from God that are His time, energy, attention, listening ear. May we always be grateful towards God for always being available for us, wanting to spend time with us (which comes with refreshing and downloads of wisdom and direction). Sometimes it is the simply wrapped gift that is easy to overlook but which has the very best gift out of all the options. I know sitting still with God doesn't seem as interesting as binge watching a show or hanging out with your friends but I am certain there is no better choice than taking time to be still with God. The heart behind my words is not false guilt or suggesting all you do is sit with God. I encourage balanced living and including God in all we do.
The fine line between supportive and enabling is pretty thin. If you feel as though you may be being used or abused in a relationship (friendship, romantic, work or otherwise) prayerfully seek God's guidance that you are not playing the role of Ahab with a Jezebel spirit.
When our character is tested, it is an opportunity to declare our truth. In the midst of the busyness of life and all the messages surrounding us in the media and our communities, it is very important to be intentional to sit with yourself and God to better understand who He created you to be and become that. The more you connect with Him, the more you are sure of who you are and whose you are. This is very important because your character will be tested. And when it is tested, what will you say about you; who will you agree with? God or man?
There are some struggles that are inevitable no matter how "safe" a life we live. Other struggles come out of us pursuing our dreams. In my life I have resolved to pick my [overall] struggles. My encouragement to you is to not give up just because it is not easy to live a life of purpose. It may not be easy but it is worth it.
If you're like me, you've been guilty of negative -- or none at all -- confessions over your life. I'm thankful to God that I got a hold of the wisdom and power in Him to confess what He says about me. I hope you, my friends, would be in agreement with what God says about you as well. Live free from every lie of the enemy. Stay close to the Holy Ghost.
False guilt can be so draining. In this episode I am attempting to process and mature out of unhealthy restrictions in my life. These unseen restraints hold me back from being God's best for my life. Frankly, it is exhausting to try to please everyone. Therefore, I have made God's will for my life my goal instead of the opinions of man. I hope the same for you friends.
Welcome to this week's rant-tastic fantastic DWQ podcast episode! The big question is: WHY??? I don't understand the crazies but I'm tired of them finding me and attaching themselves to my life. I'm done.
The kingdom of darkness mocks us when we walk around in life simply existing, doubting our God-give greatness. It is a matter of perspective and the decision to win that yield supreme satisfaction. You can only pretend not to mourn the death of your dreams for so long. Thank God that His truth in us will not be silent. This episode of the podcast is your encouragement to live a victorious, fulfilled life, surrendered to God.
Join me on the journey of transparency. In this episode I am working through my thoughts on transparency. I am working on being more and more diligent to be transparent and find others who are brave enough to discover what is in the room of Truth and deliverance for their lives.
After all is said and done -- where your insecurities, other's negativity and the lies of the enemy have spoken -- is where truth can shine the brightest. It's easier to spot a lie when you know the the truth. So may we go to God in our doubts and questioning. May we trust what His Word says above all opinions. May we all be free in who God says we are and not let any contrary comments or thoughts lead us away from Truth. We will fulfill the call of God on our lives because we won't give in to doubt.
What does it look like for you to truly believe in yourself? Have you buried your dreams deep beneath disappointments, fears... discouragement? I've been guilty of doing so. But as of late, I've been more intentional to believe again and encourage others to do the same. I will not stand by and watch my dreams perish nor will I stand by and watch it happen to anyone else. Keep believing in the goodness and intentionality of God in you, friends. Be willing to go all in and bet the farm on yourself if God gives you peace to make leaps of faith.
Despite all the fun background sounds in this episode, I pray you are blessed by what I share. Have you ever been in a situation where someone offends you or hurts your feelings and without blinking you return the same behavior back on them? Yea, that used to be me. Before Christ, I would give into my feelings and be led by them. Now I'm led by Holy Spirit. I still have to resist the urge to destroy others when I feel hurt, but I Can resist the urge...it is a daily choice. Vengeance has always been the Lord's so now I pray and give it over to Him. This choice of peace, love and surrender has freed me from a lot of stress and meltdowns. May you walk in peace friends. You may look crazy to other people but God's peace surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
When you break up with a friend, significant other, job -- whatever kind of relationship -- moving forward and into new relationships can be scary. You may be scared you'll find yourself hurt again or worse off than last time but you can choose not to allow the past to keep you from your bright future. I'm pushing thru these feelings myself and choosing to trust God that THE BEST IS YET TO COME. If you're still alive and there are people all around you, pray for God to lead you to the right relationships and LIVE a full life. YOU are allowed to be happy again. *Please excuse the noisy wind thru the mountains, it doesn't last the entire episode.
This episode marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the DWQ podcast! All glory to God for the faithfulness required to keep showing up and sharing my heart. Hopefully along the way, you have been empowered and blessed to live your life to the fullest. This episode is another, not so glamourous recording of me fighting thru every negative thought, word and attack to keep loving God with my all and my neighbor as I love myself. Love (God) will always win in our lives if we yield to it/Him.
Warning: I get a little loud and mouthy on this episode but it was so necessary. If you need to turn down the volume, I understand, but please hear me out. This season has not been an easy one. With all the doubt and fear threatening me with negative thinking, I had to get loud by faith and speak truth over every lie spoken against me. May you be intentional to do the same. Every thought that comes to mind does not necessarily come from a good place. Know the source of the thoughts/suggestions and only speak what God says about you. And if you're going thru a difficult time: grow thru as you go thru, friends. Be well.
Self-sabotage. Man, I'm so frustrated yet encouraged thru today's experience. It took a lot of courage for me to keep going and not give up despite my mistakes. Therefore, I am so proud of myself. Tho scenarios will not always play out as we hoped, our heart must remain pure towards God. We must choose to trust His love for us despite the ways we may repeatedly disappointment ourselves. If you can relate, forgive yourself and move forward friends.
Welcome to another unscripted ah-ha moment for me during yet another 1.5 to 2 hour drive to work. So why are we here? ...In this specific situation? ...At that particular job? ...In that neighborhood? One thing is for sure: nothing is wasted with God. Give Him your situation and welcome His revelation to you for your season. You may be the only one you know with that revelation, but keep pressing forward in faith and trust God. As this podcast shows: the process isn't often sexy, but it is necessary. You will get thru this if you don't quit. I'm living proof of that friends. God is faithful.
I can only imagine what will happen in my life when I partner my obedience with God's instruction for me. Have you wondered the same about your life? At some point, we have to step out of imagination and do the work to see what we believe come to pass. Note: there are long (contemplative) pauses in this episode...there is nothing wrong with your device.
This podcast is chuck full of my emotional and spiritual battles of the day and God's grace to help me overcome. I'm so grateful that God has equipped us with His Word, presence and love for the battles we face. Don't get boxed in by the lies of the enemy regarding who you are (identity) in Christ. Your reality is that you're set free and delivered, in Jesus' name. May we all walk in our freedom in Jesus...and help others get free along the way. A note about free will: my comments are not to say things do not happen in life Against our will. May we all continue to rely on God's strength to empower us to overcome what tries to overcome us. For those who've had negative things happen in their lives against their will: you are victorious not a victim, in Jesus' name! AMEN! God's got you, friends.
God knows exactly who you are and the greatness you were made to accomplish. No matter the cards you were dealt in life, the reality is, you have exactly the resources, skills, ability, etc. that you need to become the greatest version of yourself. Like they say: it is not how we start but how we finish. *FYI: I record my podcast with my cell phone and got a call from my boss at the end of this recording and didn't want to ignore it but may you be blessed by what I shared still the same.
There's so many things that I don't understand in humanity. What brings me peace is that I know I can trust the heart of God. The One who knows all things knows and loves me...He loves YOU too! May this episode encourage your perspective to see the light in the darkness. Hope in the Lord. Good/God is for YOU and ME!!!
Money money money...it can be a sensitive topic for some of us. How do you feel about tithing? What do you do when someone at a red light asks for money? It can be trivial to know what to do sometimes but the only way to find out is to step out in faith and see what God does when you give and tithe wisely.
Of course I start with tons of randomness but may your heart take comfort in my testimony that God can stir joy in us despite disappointment of our goals and plans not working out at we hoped. He is still God and He is most certainly good. Stay close to Him.
No lie! I'm a little embarrassed by this episode (it's a bit revealing and emotional)...I almost didn't post it. BUT what's more important to me is that I get my breakthrough and so does my audience/fam. In this season of my life I'm moving to a new city, meeting new people, looking for a new job and it's all different than what I'm used to. It's honestly uncomfortable and scary. It's taking a lot of faith and self-reflection and that's what you'll hear in this episode - a lot of emotion. Learning how to hear from God and trusting that you heard Him right can be so scary. But looking back, it's so worth it in order to arrive at a life worth living.
How do you "stay woke" as a Christian? What is your Christian world-view and what are you doing to solve the problems in your area and abroad? There are people all over the world serving people who don't look like them because they are staying "woke" for Jesus by bringing aide to the needs of others.
Speak life. Sometimes it's the best way to face negativity. In this episode I am fighting traffic by putting good conversation into the atmosphere. The power of life and death are definitely in our tongue. We don't always get to control what happens in our lives but we do get to determine how we manage our perspective and our words/confessions. Please excuse the few seconds of scrambling on the sound. It'll clear up.
Ok, ok...I sound like I'm complaining but I'm just being painfully honest. This podcast encourages listeners to be genuine about how you feel and balance it with your faith in Jesus. I've been through a lot mentally, physically, relationally, financially and spiritually and can relate to others that have as well. I pray you know that discomfort and unsettling doesn't necessarily mean "quit". A lot of times it means, press forward and upward. Whatever you're working towards for God: don't give up. It's always healthy to be honest and humble before God and yourself. Your breakthrough will follow.
If you don't like where you are in life, realize that you have the opportunity to change. You have options. You ALWAYS have a choice -- though it may not be an easy one. Start with your confessions of where you want to be in life (not reciting where you currently are). Pray for a God plan to get where God desires for you to be. Then do it. It's that simple and complex all at the same time because it's not always easy to go a different route than you've always gone...but if you want it bad enough you can be willing to sacrifice comfortable and familiar for your truth in Christ Jesus.
I am LITERALLY driving scared y'all but what's on the other side of fear plus my determination to get all that God has for me enables me to keep moving forward anyway. I think this episode sounds like I'm rambling more than usual because I'm hanging onto the steering wheel by faith. And you know what? God IS SO FAITHFUL!! I'm glad I hung in there and now on the other side of fear I feel good. I'm so grateful to God that I was able to encourage others through my walk of faith. No regrets.
This is a BONUS episode as I didn't plan to record it and I wasn't driving. All my episodes are unscripted so I am not sure what I'll say. Hints why I was struggling to recall Psalm 23:1 which says, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want". May your heart be stirred to walk out a genuine faith walk with Jesus as your Lord and Savior. May you be intentional to come out the closet of religion into a public declaration of the freedom you found in Jesus! God bless you fam!
Can an Oreo get between me and God? If our belly is our god than we have an idol problem. If we know it's wrong and we do it any way -- that's a sin issue. This episode gets really real fam but being honest and humble before God is so healthy. I'm so honored to share my flaws with you so I can grow (by exposing the sin) and help others grow. Let nothing get in the way of our intimacy with God.
With all the to-do's on our list, some of the essential tasks can fall to the wayside. I'm learning to prioritize my health while setting realistic goals and not beating myself up for not being "perfect". May you find a similar freedom if this is an area of need for you -- in Jesus' name, amen.
In this episode, I push through the fear of the unknown in order to appreciate God's plan in connecting me with people in a way I would've never chosen on my own.
Single people, what's up? Are you a single Christian receiving confusing messages about your single season? I encourage you to go to the Word of God and be encouraged by Him for what YOUR season is supposed to look like (matter fact: please do this for Every season of your life). Then live and swim in that season just the way God told you to. Don't be confused, be great!
Perceptions of our relationships are not reliable but to KNOW someone intimately and genuinely is powerful and secure. I invite you into my journey of making it a normal practice of cultivating genuine relationships with others. " A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." -- Proverbs 18:24, KJV
(...This episode follows the abrupt end of the previous podcast episode when someone called me). A long title but a short message of encouragement: please don't give up on your dreams. God made you on purpose with a purpose.
I am very exhausted in this recording BUT that's what happens when you drive 88 miles one way to get to work everyday. May God grant you the grace to catch the many nuggets of wisdom in this episode. With disappointment, it doesn't get more raw than this for me. God bless!
Learn to encourage yourself in the Lord. Be familiar with your own voice and your own thoughts while remaining open-minded to those around you. And may you always stay grounded in the Lord, no matter what. The world will try to confuse you, satan WILL attack your identity. If you don't know who you are and what you believe, you can always ask God to reveal it to you. It's like the phrase goes: If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.
Talk about a tangent...this episode is not short on topics and "sidebars", lol. Sometimes you gotta check in with yourself and make sure you're ok when everything doesn't feel ok. May you feel encouraged to know you're not alone in your walk of faith when you take a leap of faith and find out the struggle gets real. God is present no matter where you find yourself. P.S. I'm so sleepy on this episode. Driving 176 miles a day, Monday thru Friday, is catching up.
How many seeds (opportunities) have we thrown away because we didn't acknowledge the seed as an opportunity? I pray this episode will help you look at natural and spiritual seeds as opportunities. God blessed you with so much good to give in this world; don't waste it. (See Ephesians 2:10 for encouragement).
Sufficiency: enough; plenty. Sometimes it can be scary when you take a leap of faith to trust God only to discover you don't have every thing you need at your disposal. But may your heart find peace in knowing that God will provide for you...and it may be "to the dollar" but you live to fight another day. Keep fighting as long as God says: fight the good fight of faith; finish your race.
As I push towards a new future, I am forced to face my past burdens. But GOD...I am thankful for His Word and what He says about me. Christ is my COURAGE! He can be yours too!!! *KNOW Jesus = peace, NO Jesus = no peace (promise I spell better when I write than when I speak).
This episode is retrofitted into my timeline. Reflecting on the things that scare me...and passing on the courage to do it anyway! We can do all things thru Christ who strengths us, you know?!! Walk out the Word in faith as the Lord leads you, friends.
I am so very grateful to God for my new home and the location is very much so "happiness" for me. I couldn't have followed through with my goals and succeeded without God. And I'm so grateful to God for the prayers and support of those He sent my way. May He bless them big time.
The plan keeps changing...my emotions keep changing. (my plans and comfort zone changed -- God's plan didn't change). This is a retro-fitted episode for a few weeks prior to the previous episode. It's hard to make hard decisions but I share my struggles, questions and concerns to help others know that it's a normal part of the process. Surrender your concerns and questions to God so that He may lead you...then obey Him in what He says.
I'm so excited to FINALLY know where I'm moving to! There's so many confirmations from the Lord chasing me down...the decision is a no-brainer despite outside resistance. I'm looking forward to what God has in store for me in this new territory! Thank you to those who prayed the Father's will for me and my move.
I finally decided where I want to move! Fighting the feeling of failure...take it from me: Obey God quickly; live without regrets. God's instruction trumps man's opinion. Don't be afraid to trust God. He loves you.
Today was a rough day emotionally for me...the struggle is so real. But regardless, it's time to make a decision on where to move. Stay strong.
Deeper dives into my season. So many indicators that I'm ready to move on. But first...a song (freestyle).
We don't make ourselves right with God, God makes us right with Him. We must choose to be surrendered to Love and let Him guide our lives. Our natural instincts are corrupted; only God can reprogram us.
I'm really digging into the truth in my heart and why I do what I do. I invite you to be vulnerable before the Lord and let Him lead you.
God calls us from glory to glory in Him...never stay small to people-please or for any reason...especially when God calls you to grow and become the highest version of yourself. There will be healthy people there to meet you. And there are so many waiting for you to obey God.
We love people but we must love God over all. Interrupted by a phone call at the end of this recording but may you leave this episode encouraged to have a healthy fear of God.
The way I think, speak and choose to be these days is not a resolve I arrived at on my own. My flesh would not be for unconditional love and forgiveness. God has made me knew in His love. And I am forever grateful.
Sometimes we get caught in a melody and don't realize the intensity of our request. God's heart toward us is good only but He WILL answer our prayers. So the question is: are we ready for what we pray/sing for?
There seems to be something missing in the results of my life/efforts. Whatever I may be missing could be right in front of my face. This was recorded at the end of a frustrating day where someone tried to make me feel terrible about myself. I rebuke the confession that I am a "rock head". I was in my feelings. I am smart, witty and wise in Jesus' name! Amen!
I'm still figuring things out. But I'll never arrive at my truth if I can't be honest with God in prayer.
I'm learning to exercise my gratitude muscle despite things that I don't like or how I feel.
Decisions decisions...I'm in a tricky spot. I'm standing at a crossroad with many choices - not just two. Lord please guide me.
Welcome to one of many rants of mine as I walk out life making hard decisions. These are bonus clips because I was not driving at the recording of the audio.
Trusting God is an excellent way to arrive at contentment and peace about where you are in life.
Dying to self ain't easy, but it's right. Good comes out of yielding to God. If you have an issue with someone, pray about it, confront it and let God change people's hearts. We cannot change people.
