BIO:
Born in 1967 Rob was in his 20's when the house scene hit Holland. After going to his first illegal rave, he immediately knew he wanted more. Quickly he started to collect vinyl, mastered the art of Djing and played at various underground parties in the local scene. The next step was to produce that he loved so much, in that time it was not so easy and accessible as it is nowadays. So unfortunately it was never released. Mostly of work and life-related things it all faded slowly into the background. Gear was sold , vinyl stored and life went on.
Until a while ago when he started to attend some raves again, Techno made the virus struck again. This time he decided to give this dream another chance. Started rebuilding his music collection and started mixing again. Soon after that he was asked to do weekly radio shows at Housefreqs and Soundwave radio.
His style can be described as leaning towards the harder side of techno, with a link to the past. Mixing on 3 or 4 decks with a hybrid setup adding drums and synths to create new sound structures from existing tracks keeping the drive and rhythm in there.

This set was recorded during ADE 2025, the whole set is a hybrid live set using existing tracks and live instruments during the set blended on a 6 channel mixer, the model 1, This setup creates so much possibilitys to bend any music your way giving you the power to add and take things away as you please without disturbing the sonic content of the music...

Another 1 hour techno mix from inside the Bas[s]ment conatining the last few months relases and live elements. In the heart of Amsterdam West lies a gem, hidden underground, that comes to life during weekend evenings: a streaming studio, equipped with top notch DJ gear, professional video equipment, light robots and bombastic speakers; it’s called The Bassment and for the past couple of years it has been hosting an excellent roster of national and international DJs, in different formats but always very Techno-oriented: a delight for any techno-head alike.Along its evolution is the award of the official ADE yellow cube, making The Bassment a relevant pin in today’s #Mokum map of underground venues.Mind Your step, curator and owner of this cozy but vibrant space, is a long time Techno lover and, as such, he’s a supporter of the earlier Techno sound; but his fascination with all things electronic has kept him very much up with current times. When browsing my go to places for tracks these are the ones that stood out for exceptional quality, quirkiness and sometimes even strange, but hey, we need more flavors to enjoy the ones we know :)

The way i felt last thursday, its a bit strange in some places with lots of underlining rhythms, and odd mixing choices ....so try to find the groove in there ...its hidden somewhere :)
some time ago i made a set for Insessions Radio Maxima, it aired last weekend...really nice with the promo for the radio show, could get used to that :)

This one is a bit of an experiment, there are some tracks in it that were hot in my early years raving,
thought it would be fun to let them come by one more time to see if they hold up against today's techno, i really feel they do, i did add some more punch to the low ends of those tracks, but that is the only thing missing, you could set these off in any club...
