You hear it all the time - you should never have to spend money to make money. Well this would be true if you were an employee. But you’re not an employee. You’re a self starter. You don’t make an hour wage, your results are based upon your performance just as any other business owner. And just like any other business owner, there are costs to keep things running.
Stop asking people to help you reach your sales goal. I wasn’t going to talk about this today, but I recently received a message from a girl I had never spoken to before. This was as a result of my commenting on her photo with a complement. I truly thought the girl looked pretty, and so I told her so! Only to be sent a message less than 5 minutes later, asking me if I could help her with her monthly sales goal.
Let’s talk about the income disclosure charts that everyone likes to bring up. Does your company have an income disclosure? If not, they should. I honestly think it should be mandated for every single network marketing company to have one and you may be surprised to hear that. But I also think there is room for improvement in the data they show. It’s not a complete picture.
As a network marketer, have you ever gotten a ton of flack from people who tell you that you’re not a legitimate business owner? It drives me nuts. I get where they are coming from, honestly I do. Your network marketing business is not solely run by you. You don’t get to make all of the big decisions like pricing, sourcing, shipping, things like that. You don’t own your network marketing business, it’s true. You’re simply a consultant for a network marketing business.

I’m sure you guys have heard all of the perks of network marketing like “work for your phone”, “set your own hours”, “unlimited earning potential”, “free trips” - these are just a few things but there are many. Those are great, but honestly my favourite perk of network marketing has nothing to do with that but it is the single thing that has enhanced my life the most. I’m talking about the training.

You’re working only for her to benefit? She’s the only one that benefits? She only cares about you making money for her? Listen up.
The network marketing industry, an industry that I whole heartedly believe in. But it’s not going to be a glazed over report of only the good things. I think we need to talk about the bad things too, because while the MLM industry has taken a lot of heat in recent years, it’s been warranted.
