This is the poetry reading of the most interesting poets in Nigeria. Loudthotz Poetry Open Reading is a monthly event that showcases the talents and voices of poets from different backgrounds and styles. The theme for the September edition was “brothers”, and it featured some amazing poetry readings by poets who shared their personal stories, insights, and emotions about the theme.In this video, you can watch the zoom recording of the event, which was held on the 14th of September 2023. You will hear poems that explore the bonds, conflicts, joys, and sorrows of the theme. Lecture by Dr. Andrew Ode Eyeoyibo at the 2018 outing of Loudthotz Poets, the most interesting poets in Nigeria to Lufasi Park Lagos, Nigeria. Every year the Loudthotz Poetry Open Reading event poets go on an outing to read poems and have lectures away from the ususal nest where they read every second Thursday of the month at Orange Academy 3b Adesoye Street Mende Maryland Lagos, Nigeria. In 2018 we visited the Lufasi Park a conservation center in Lagos and apart from reading our poems we had a delightful lecture from Dr. Ode a patron of the Loudthotz poetry reading event.
The Loudthotz Poetry Open Reading (LPOR) is a platform created by the Independent Poets Concerns for poets all over Nigeria to have an evening of poetry reading and appreciation. We have been reading every second Thursday of the month for the past 9 years.
At the end of every year we publish all the poems read i a collection called the First Gong series.
