There is no denying that Q4 is a time when there are sales to be made, BUT unless you have a clear strategy as to WHY you are running a sale or a launch then it can often lead to poor execution.

It can be VERY easy to get distracted by the shiny lights of lucrative sales numbers, but the reality is for alot of social media managers and content creators, this may not be the right thing for your business.

In this episode, I share how I am approaching Q4 this year, not with a flash sale on a digital product JUST to have one I can sell, but doubling down on my profitable services.

And how you can do the same AND still generate leads and clients during the end of year period.

Are you ready? Let's dive in.

If you are new to content creation, or even if you have been doing it for a while, and you are still charging by the hour then listen up.

In this episode of The Social Media Makers podcast I share how charging an hourly rate for content services, and social media management, is NOT the best thing for you OR your client.

Package pricing is what is going to make your business more profitable long term and open you up to more ability to leverage and scale.

I share here 3 ways package pricing will set you up for success and what you can do to start transitioning over if you are still charging an hourly rate.

Stories can be a bit of a minefield for business owners, they only last for 24 hours so there is alot of fatigue around creating content for that part of the platform.

And there is alot of confusion around WHAT to share, mainly when you have already put so much effort into your feed content it's like 'What else do I share there?'.

In this episode, I share some insights from an experiment I have been running on my personal account that has resulted in views of 83% of my audience AND a significant increase in engagement.

I didn't post stories daily, but I did post them consistently and I wasn't on camera all the time either, these were really simple strategies that anyone can implement even if you are time poor and don't like showing your face every day.

In the current small business landscape, there is an intersection of where business, self-help and spirituality meet, and in this enmeshment of the three, it’s hard to differentiate each one.

To the point that we are trying to solve the wrong problems with the wrong solutions.

I believe that untangling them and working each part of the small business Venn diagram is important BUT you cannot replace one with the other.

We need to work on our business strategy AND our mindset at the same time, in conjunction with, in parallel to each other.

So we can show up as the best version of ourselves in our business while also applying business acumen to our actual business.

It's been a red hot minute [almost 12 months to be exact] since I released an episode of the pod.

So this ep is filling you in on what the heck happened in my business identity crisis of 2022, why and how I pivoted my business to create more success than I have had to date and what that means.

DISCLAIMER: I talk about market trends in this episode that are relevant to my industry, I share them to express to you how to critically assess your own business in terms of market trends, not as a rule of what anyone 'should' be doing.

Since I turned 40 I have noticed a HUGE shift in my energy, and not just my physical energy. My mental, emotional and spiritual energy has shifted. And I have really started to wonder 'what the heck is life after kids', because for so many years it never felt like that was even remotely close enough to consider But now it is and I find myself in midlife, not feeling like I am middle aged, but knowing things need to change to honour myself and the next iteration of who I am becomingSo this episode I interview Katya D'antini about this exact topic 'Honouring The Midlife Pause' * What that means * How it shows up for us * What we can do to navigate life and business more in line with our energy as we grow into the next version of ourselves as women, mothers and members of our communities

This is part four of a four-part series so make sure you head over and tune into eps 112 - 114 firstNeeds based selling is the process that I learned back in corporate and it's served me well in the 4 years I have been in business. The reason we had such a structured process is that there was heavy regulation and also needed to safeguard the customer + the company against confusion in the end product the customer purchased.Needs based selling ensures that you have happy clients who become repeat clients + refer you to other people, creating raving fans in your business. It's the authentic way to sell and ensures that your potential clients buy what they NEED, rather than what they THINK they need or what we WANT to sell. So it really does create that beautiful scaffolding to the sales process.I have broken up this process into 4 parts that you can adapt and use to your online sales copy, email convo's, DM's + phone calls or zoom calls. The four parts are: KNOW - Starting with the relationship in mind * MISSION - Uncovering their needs in a human way * SHARE - The non sleazy way to recommend how you can help them [or refer them if you can't] * WHAT NOW* - Confirming understanding and supporting them to make the right decision for them

The coaching industry is full of 25 step frameworks and 5 step blueprints on how to use strategies to grow your business and make it profitable. And while there is nothing wrong with a system or process they are extremely masculine things and for us women to live in the masculine all the time makes it really hard to blend our business and life. This is why I was thrilled to have Sharon Cliffe on this episode to talk about creating strategies for your lifestyle and family dynamics that help you create more harmony in your business and life. This makes for a more cohesive, workable, actionable strategy you can show up for and do each day, week and month.Sharon is a Business Coach and Mentor, Podcaster and she is passionate about living life on her own terms. She helps women in business ignite their passion and move from burnt out to lit up.Sharon is not into hustle or juggling and believes we can pursue our passion and have the space to do business & life our way – in flow, fun and inspiring. This is a really cool convo with 2 mums shooting the breeze of doing business and life in flow and harmony. And it was a podcast we had NO notes for - we just hit record and starting chatting and I think that was where the magic came from.Get all the details and links mentioned in this episode over at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/88ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Do you have something you KNOW you were born to do? And perhaps it’s not quite exactly what you are doing now. For a lot of people, the first iteration of their business model is not exactly what they feel they were put on this earth to do.Why is that? Well, I believe it's because humans are not linear creatures we are always evolving and growing and so too does our business and our brand. To honor our souls work and be the person we were put here to be how do we truly embrace our true calling? Because we can often feel that if we want to change or alter or pivot our path that we are being flaky or we have shiny object syndrome and need to just stay focused. The thing is when we are not fulfilled by what we are doing in our business it can lead to a lack of fulfillment in all of our lives. So embracing our true calling is such an important part of our work, whether that be to explore a new niche, to start another business and create a new income stream, to ditch offers and create new ones or change your business model in some way say from 1:1 to online courses. My guest on this episode is Amanda Nicole, an Intuitive Guide and Spiritual Mentor. In the last 12 months, I have had the privilege of working with Amanda as she carved her path to embracing her and she now fully embraces herself and her work in the true sense of the word. She is 100% in complete alignment with what she is here to do and lives and breathes it daily.Get all the details and links mentioned in this episode over at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/86ARE WE FRIENDS YET? In this episode, I explore how I use one of the four soul modes in business and that mode is bear mode.Your beautiful bear is your spiritual genius and when you are in bear mode you are able to access to that ability to be still, to reflect and release beliefs, stuff and junk that you may have been holding on to.It’s where you may find yourself telling the world to be less 'shouty' or when you find yourself wanting to just go inwards for a while (kinda like a bear going into her cave) so you can just be with your thoughts. So I chat in this episode about how to identify when your in bear mode, how it can show up for you and how you can fill your wild cup and let your spiritual genius allow you to stop, reflect, be still and release. How she helps you heal and shows you how to truly care for yourself.Get all the details and links mentioned in this episode over at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/84ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Having a digital offering is such a profitable and scalable option for you to increase revenue and grow your bottom line However it's often touted as being 'the passive income dream' or 'making money while you sleep' ..... when it actual fact once you start looking into it you realise that OMG there is actual work involved There is SO much information on the internet (mostly from people wanting to sell THEIR course on how to create one of those options) that it's hard to know what to choose OR where to startThis episode is a LIVE training I ran in my FB Group and is a conversation around each of these 3 options of digital offers:* A digital product, like an eBook, template or system * Online course * Group membership

We have a frank chat about the ins and outs of each one* The pros and cons * The realistic numbers you can expect * The work involved * The benefits to you and your biz

My guest today Nikki O'Brien is a special lady as she is also my amazing podcast editor! Nikki believes the magic of conversation is real… that each unique voice is the cornerstone of facilitating healing, change + transformation. She calls herself the podcasting priestess working with beautiful beings of bright to connect more intimately with their audience. Her work in the world was a natural progression from an extensive background in media, where as an announcer for commercial radio stations across SA + Victoria Nikki entertained, informed + connected with listeners. She is a deeply curious + spiritual being housed in a delightfully human body. Galvanized by her unique willingness to grow, gather + listen she helps others to fully embrace the self with compassion, love + acceptance. She’s the creator of the binge-worthy + wildly successful podcast Quintessential Being, offering fresh perspectives that cultivate awareness + invite acceptance so you can step into wholeness with sovereignty.Nikki is also the solo mumma to a gorgeous little boy and honestly, this episode just really did take me back to the years I was a single mum and the years of navigating parenting with a previous partner. We share really vulnerably in this episode the highs and lows of motherhood from a single parent perspective, one that Nikki is doing right now and one that I have done in the past.It was for me like looking in a mirror of myself at times and was one of the most beautiful episodes of raw real and trueness of my own story intertwined with a guest.Get all the details and links mentioned in this episode over at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/81ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Do you feel like life sometimes has lost it’s sparkle? I know I sometimes do, in fact I have been having a very un-sparkly time in 2021But you know who has been a beacon for me in business and life? Kristy Gray that’s who. Kristy is an all-round hype girl, she’s a Life Strategist & Astrologer and is all about inspiring you to take the steps you need to master confidence, gain clarity and transform your lifestyle. What I love about Kristy’s story is that she actually tried to resist her niche of astrology for a while, which is ironic as that is what she is KNOWN for now and people love her for it. And once she owned it and realized the thing she was resisting was the thing she needed to do well WOW did things start happening for her.So while this is a chat about astrology and business, lots of deepness about the energetics of building a life and business that is what you truly dream of it’s also a great story of how owning who you truly are allows you to become who you were born to beGet all the details and links mentioned in this episode over at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/80ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Adrianne Skye is my guest on this instalment of The Motherhood Chronicles series, and it's a GREAT listen. Adrianne has had multiple businesses in her life, she has never shied away from trying new things and taking a punt on herself or something new and this has come with some highs and lows of running a business and juggling it with kids. She and her husband are coffee wholesalers, urban farmers and previously she was in leadership in SA education sector, she ran her bricks and mortar business which was a cafe for 11 years and also has travelled Australia with her family. What I love the most is that her story isn’t about an online business (at the start) Adrianne ran bricks and mortar businesses while raising her family, she has had highs and lows and the road hasn’t always been easy but it’s given her a whopper of a life brimming with experience and stories. Aside from being a business owner, Adrianne is a teacher and mother of 2 sons with dyslexia. Instead of saying disabilities, she has stamped it as 'FLAIRS OF BRILLIANCE' and every single one of us has multiple flairs like no other! And combined with her knowledge of the education system and her experience navigating parenthood with 2 boys who have needs that were outside a framework most structured school environments could allow for she is creating space for mums and their kids to see the world of disabilities in a different light and harness the genius that every soul has.Get all the links mentioned in the shownotes page HERE >>www.thesocialhubau.com/79ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Toxic positivity is the overgeneralization of a happy and optimistic state that results in denial, minimalization and invalidation of the real, normal or authentic human experience. So basically that means that being all happy happy joy joy at the expense of acknowledging REAL life is having a negative impact on us rather than the intended positive impactAnd I see this so much on social media and in business where putting positivity BEFORE reality is contributing to raging mum guilt and increased burnout in us women.Life is messy, it’s chaotic, it’s real, it hurts, it’s punchy, it has flaws, it can be sad, bleak and challenging to navigate. But it can also be amazing, incredible, fun, happy, and just so awe-inspiring at the same time.Denying the chaos is unrealistic because the chaos IS the beautySo in this episode, I unpack how I see toxic positivity playing out in life and business for myself and other people. How it's impacting women in business every day and ONE thing you can easily do to combat itGet all the relevant links here >>www.thesocialhubau.com/74ARE WE FRIENDS YET? This is the first instalment in a series of episodes that is focused on talking to mums about their journey in the 2 bigs loves of their lives. That of being a mum and that of being a business owner.Let’s be honest balance does not exist and us mums need to get more of these raw and honest conversations out there so we know we can feel part of a community, know we are held even if we are home working alone most days and that there is someone at any given time feeling how we do. The online landscape is a changed place in 2021, it's changed completely from 2019 but it's also evolved from 2020. And it's continuing to evolve constantly and if we are not keeping up with how people interact, engage and consume online then we are going to get left behind.I have spent alot of the last quarter watching, observing, analyzing how people are showing up online as a brand and a consumer and what that means for us business babes moving forward. So I have wrapped up all my learnings from this phase of reflection in this episode of the pod. And I share for you:* The key ways your audience is interacting differently online and how it's evolved since 2019 * How you can adapt this in the way you show up on social media * What that means in terms of how you support your audience and clients * How to build a community and provide connection WITHOUT needing to host a Facebook Group or be on social media 100 hours a day

Your business is not your logo. We hear it so many damned times a week from designers and branding experts but what the heck does it actually mean? When starting out in business the term brand can feel like a bit of an intangible substance right? I mean you need the logo and the aesthetics so what more is there to it?And with apps like Canva and cheap platforms like Fiver and a gazillion designers in FB groups saying they can do you a logo for $50 it’s not hard to realise why we can get confused when we hear your brand is not your logo.So what REALLY makes a truly stand out, jaw-dropping, delicious brand that everyone is raving about and wants to be a part of?Today I am sharing with you an amazing lady who is a powerhouse on all things branding and design and her name is Laura Duncan. Laura and I met through a mastermind last year and became fast friends. I mean we both love lots of the same things, wine, swimming, animals and having a good old fashioned laugh.Laura is the head design LEGEND at The Design Room is a graphic design studio based in Brisbane. Specialising in branding and website design, I help women in business build a brand they love and feel confident with. I love to help small business owners turn their ideas into a reality.Laura is also a member of digital business and marketing membership The Social Collective where I help small business owners own their brilliance and show up online so they can create the business of their dreams without burning out in the process.Get all the details and links mentioned in this episode over at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/68ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Recently I wiped my email marketing strategy and created an entirely new one because I was just feeling really over the bland, boring and just SAME email content and strategies that everyone seems to be using.I also wanted to stop contributing to email noise as from what I can see, it's bordering on spam the amount of emails people send these days. AND I have seen some new trends in the way people subscribe to, consume and engage with emails in the last 12 months. So this episode really gives the complete down low with the deal on my new fresh and shiny strategy that will be using and also unpacking and sharing as I do thisYou can find all the deets, links and shownotes here>>www.thesocialhubau.com/67ARE WE FRIENDS YET? Course creators this episode is for you. We live in a world where creating courses is SO DAMNED EASY am I right? I mean running a course or program is as simple as creating a landing page, having people buy the thing and then running a series of videos or delivering content like PDF’s, audios, workbooks and the like that teach someone something. You can run a course as simply as setting up a Facebook Group or as complex as having a full digital course host platform like Kajabi or one of the big ones. You can have a fully automated funnel or you can be as organic as you like with itEither way creating online courses is a HUGE part of a lot of entrepreneurs' business plan. I mean my business is 100% running and facilitating online courses and group coaching programs. But as always with great power comes great responsibility and while it’s so much easier than it used to be there are some legalities around course creation and delivery to protect you as the creator and also your students. Things like Intellectual property, payment plans, community guidelines if you are hosting an online community. And the good thing is these things are NOT difficult to have set up either so that you, your students and any future people you are calling into your work have beautiful boundaries and structures to keep everyone on the same page and safe.So today I am interviewing someone who I truly know to be an expert and leader in this, she is an incredible lady, business owner, mum, book author, lawyer, author and lady boss. She is also a member of my online membership and community The Social Collective, and that lady is Emma Heuston. Emma heads up The Remote Expert, an Australian virtual law firm helping women with online courses and online businesses protect and grow their businesses. She does this by making the information and material accessible to her clients in a way that suits them.Emma has lived the online business life and knows what it is like to not know where the next client is coming from. She understands that sick feeling in your stomach about whether you made the right move leaving that paid but boring secure job. And yes, she gets what it is like to feel small when people dismiss your “at home” business as a hobby you can fit in around caring for the kids and carrying the mental load at home. In 2011, Emma was on the traditional lawyer corporate path with an office job in a boutique firm on the North Shore of Sydney. But a near death experience changed her views on work/ life balance and made her realise life is way too short not to do exactly as you please. Since then Emma has set about shaking things up in the work from home arena. In 2018, she wrote her work from home bible, The Tracksuit Economy: how to work productively and effectively from home and in early 2021, is proud to be a featured co-author in "Back Yourself", a collection of stories from business women edited by Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner. You can find all the details to connect with Emma and get her SuperChrage For Online Courses on the shownotes page for todays episode at >>www.thesocialhubau.com/64ARE WE FRIENDS YET? I find at this time of year you are either 1 of 2 people.1. The person who is embracing the summer and is firing on all cylinders in their business 2. The person who is exhausted from all the digital noise and is confused about how to stay active and visible when it's the craziest time of year

If you are person 2 then this episode is for you! I am sharing the KEY elements to staying visible during the silly season on social media and helping you create a strategy to:* Maximise pre-xmas sales - yes even with only 10 days left until the jolly fat man comes there is time to kick some goals here * Keep your brand alive when most people ghost their socials over the Xmas break
