He felt so tired. His life was empty, at an end, destroyed.
Normally he wasn’t a man who told personal feelings but that didn’t matter anymore. He would tell someone, even if they were strangers.
He told them about the illness of his wife, a cancer. It had been growing for years, they had no children and she was all he had in his life.
John felt so sad that he took a second glass of cognac.
“We will help you. If you follow us, our doctors can cure her.”
“Nobody can.”
“We can, trust me a little. There isn’t much you have to lose but a lot to win.”
Meyer looked at Eve and his eyes were glassy. Looked like the alcohol worked.

The Dark Side of Eve podcast ep 106
This time Eve opened the door and the men went in. Last time, and Eve remembered well, John closed the door directly in front of the face of this officer. She smiled while she went back to the library where she was having tea with John before it happened.
While the guys looked through the house Meyer stood in the middle of the entrance hall and waited.
“Would you like to have a tea with us while you are waiting”, John asked friendly.
“No, this is an attempt at bribery, I cannot accept.”
“Why should we do so? We are no secret society, we are just aliens from Venus.”
Meyers looked at John and smiled.
“Yes, sure, nice try.”
“It is the truth. Come in and have a look at our techniques.”
Slowly Meyers followed John into the dining room. John opened the large computer screen that was covered by the furniture. Meyer was already impressed as the cabinets started to move aside but then John showed him pictures from Venus.
The arrogant view he had in his face before disappeared. He was wordless.
Could that be?
Was it possible?
John showed him around fifty pictures in a small film, then the wall closed again and the furniture appeared.
Meyer sat down. He looked confused. Eve saw in his mind that his brain was working hard.
Was there a law against aliens?

Days passed filled with work and family. Slowly life turned to normality, but Eve knew how fragile the peace was Farah had negotiated with the Beings.
Was it peace?
Wasn’t it more the stop of a battle?
During the following weeks, she often remembered what had happened. She had a lot of questions but Matakela wasn’t there. He went to Sinea somewhere out in the universe.
Once she had told him she would like to have more privacy. Now he wanted the same and she had to accept.
Months passed and Eve asked herself why she got no invitation for the next work-meeting. Shouldn’t they take place every 200 days?
It was high time.
Yes, it was but Farah was busy with other things. Dark situations were crawling up the wall, a shadow was moving over her life:
The Mesorianer, again, were on their way into the federation. This time they had replaced their war-machines much quicker than expected. Luckily for Eve, they came from a direction far away from Venus.
Sometimes Eve asked herself that it was extremely annoying to fight against them again and again.
The never ending enemy.
Wasn’t it boring for them too?
Did they really expect to win one day?
After centuries of attacks?

Was there an enemy in her brain?
How?
Why?
Eve felt fear, an immense fear but she didn’t tell Sinea. She was afraid enough.
Why did they take her for the job with Farah?
She was a soft and sensitive Being.
From the beginning, it was clear she couldn’t stand this.
Was this the plan?
Make Farah weak with a weak Being?
Eve couldn’t think on because Sinea was speaking again: “Farah and I have to make sure the star-sphereisn’t bothered by mankind. Other species need them too. We cannot occupy their knowledge all the time.
Some of my colleagues want to open the border between you and the Mesorianer forever. Mankind should fight. I don’t know what to do Eve, I need help.”

Eve started a mutiny and founded a secret circle. She is arguing with Farah about equality, human rights and freedom and Farah is pissed:

Farah didn’t play games. She was always very authentic. She did what she had to do and acted like she thought it was useful, that was all.
Was she, was her circle the reason for Farah’s bad mood?
Was she wrong thinking Farah was always cold; did she take it personnel?
Shall I care about her, Eve asked herself.
No!
She wouldn’t care about me!
Eve’s first chat during the ceremony was with Masirius. He wanted to know why she installed the new alliance and Eve had to explain.
He knew about this.
But he didn’t interfere.
Perhaps I am not wrong, Eve thought but a moment later she understood she was completely wrong:

The Dark Side of Eve podcast ep 102
Subtitle: Money for sex
While visiting Earth and earthquake takes place and Eve is terrified by what happened around her. The only house still standing is her estate. She walks into the destroyed church of the village:
At that moment, a baby cried behind Eve and she turned around.
“Who’s this?”
“This is Lealium. She was from this village. Her mother was, well, together with a western man. She was young and pretty and she realized she was pregnant only after the generous man was already gone. You know this game? Money for sex?”
Eve nodded. Yes, she knew this. It happened already as she lived on Earth. It was a bad game, just a very few of the young women made their way to a happy and wealthy life.
“This part of the village is completely gone. The river took it. I found her lying aside on the dirt.”
Eve took her in her arms and the baby stopped crying.
“How old is she?”
“Between four to five months.”
“What will happen to her?”
“If I can manage, I bring her to the orphan home in the city. I hope it is still there.”
“What a fate.”
“She wouldn’t mind if you call her Lea and be her mother.”
The priest smiled.
“I can’t take her, the mother….”
“Is dead and there is nothing for her here. I am not even sure she can survive if the forts illnesses touch the area.”
Eve looked at the baby girl and touched the little head.
“I will be a good mother, I promise.”
“God bless you and he will look after you all your life.”
Eve turned to go but then she said: “Tomorrow I will send help.”
“Thank you.”

Eve had large problems to accept this arbitrariness, even if she had to. She couldn’t stand that any longer and she thought intensively about her situation.
Now it was completely clear why Thomas became a pirate. It wasn’t him, it was her character, this ruthless and brutal way to handle things and people. Eve decided that a death in war, battle and fight were much better than live endlessly in this system.
But, what can I do?
Mutiny?
Demonstration?
This would be the end of diplomatic ways, but she has to act.
Words were useless, acting was needed but she couldn’t do this on her own.

She just had a talk with Gordon. He told her she was pregnant. She hadn’t expected this and she wasn’t sure if she would like to have a child, more work, the responsibility, Eve thought while she was in a bad mood. Was this bad? Wasn’t this a child of love?

Yes, she thought, it is a child of love and she should be happy to have her.
Her? Yes, a daughter. Eve felt it.
Shall I tell John?
Yes, he would be so happy. He was still proud if he got a daughter, prouder than if it was
a son. He is a child of the old times. Yes. I forgive this. It is meant with good faith.
Nevertheless, he loved his sons. But a girl was still something special in his mind.

Is there a difference between hetero and gay people? Eve didn’t think so and she can’t understand why Gordon is so scared to tell her he is homosexual. Why are people judged by their sexuality? Why can’t we just be humans, not judged for gender, skin or culture. Why are we so rude to each other? I would like to write that we can change when we really want it, but to be honest I think it is a very long way …perhaps too long for mankind.

How did she know? Was this the plan? A plan made long time before?

Well, not my business, Eve thought as she lay down in her bed that night. This was a game of the powerful leaders. A game at a high class she was no member of.

When Magdalena read this the next morning she wondered. A few days before Lasko Mades was mentioned on the list for this project. A list directly from the center pf Selan.
Did it happen by chance? Magdalena didn’t believe this. Selan had its hand on this project. Farah was involved and she had looked a long time for somebody with skills for this subject.
It must had been Farah, nobody but her knew in Selan about Lasko. He was one of many, just a soldier, well, a gifted major but again, one of many.

And how did she know he couldn’t fly because of his private situation?

A war is coming up and as all mothers Eve feared to send her husband and a son to the war.

she really liked to have an answer: “Why did I have to leave Earth? It was my home. Earth still has a place in my
heart. Perhaps I could have helped there too?” Matakela asked.
“Isn’t this obvious?”

Then Matakela explained to her that in the early years Earth was a much better place than Selan. More development,
more education, more progress. As the Beings cared about Selan after the catastrophe everything changed. It changed
the way the humans themselves would not have developed. However, Earth grew as it was naturally mankind style. They
built up nations and countries. They had different languages and rules. From their differences, they made cruel qualifications.
Coloured people counted less than white, rich people more than poor.
“You really think you would have had a chance? A woman from the lower class.”
Eve had to concede a point to him. She would not have had a chance to lead on Earth. She would not even have an opinion somebody would listen to.

Once, a very long time ago, developed by Farah, Venus was now a shabby place. Nobody had cared about this city for centuries.
They all forgot about Venus, they wanted to forget?
No, Farah wanted to forget about this planet!
Now it was a large city without enough people to fill it with life.
The energy scale was low because the technology was old and damaged. Again, nobody really cared about it. This seemed to be the
fate of this city, no care, no hope, no interest. The humans who lived there had no chance to argue with the center of Selan or even
Farah. And they didn’t want to!
Most of them didn’t live by free will on Venus. Some were in prison before and couldn’t find any other job than on this ugly and cold
planet. Some flew from prison and didn’t want to be recognized. Others had no registration, were no official citizens of the federation
and didn’t want it for personal reasons. Uneducated people fear the system because they didn’t understand it. They want to hide, Eve thought.

The frequency played by the hologram was impressive, even in her remembrance. It was difficult for Eve to reach reality again.
Remembrance can hurt too, she thought. The story about the mountain Mosalis was a sad one, but, nevertheless, there was the light of hope in it.
Was it a happy moment when the women survived? Not really, during these years they suffered too much and too long. Going back to normality,
living life the easy way wasn’t possible for such a long time. Life had changed forever, this was the truth.

disowned, it was a horror. The women on Selan wanted to have a baby-girl, they wished it, they begged in the temple for a girl. Daughters, girls,
meant luck and honor for the family and as a side effect they were really beautiful.
