"Oreo" "You talk pretty white." "You should straighten your hair more." I've heard these statements my entire life growing up in a predominantly white area. To all my black girls, who else can relate? I'm simply a sixteen year old trying to educate the masses about the challenges black girls face day in and day out within predominantly white spaces. Most importantly, I want to create a community infiltrated in black girl love, joy, and candidness.
Hey y'all! With the verdict of Derek Chauvin's (George Floyd's murderer) case announced, I just feel like there's QUITE a bit a bit to discuss....

Heyy y'all! Long time no see hehe. Listen, I know it's almost been a year since season 1 ended, and I promise that definitely was NOT the original plan for the progression of this show. It's ok though, because the explanation for my hiatus is right here in this episode. Overall, it feels good to be back in the swing of things :)) - - CONTACT ME ;) ~ @syddclarke_ (insta) - Manga Series Mentioned- Sweat and Soap by Kintetsu Yamada
MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL! I can't believe the time has come...the season 1 finale (omg??!!!). With 2020 coming to an end, I thought it would be perfect to use this episode to reflect on this year and discuss the ways in which it has changed me, along with the important lessons it has taught me. That being said, I also wanted to touch on my hopes and goals for the new year, along with the future of this podcast (hm...). I am just beyond grateful for all of you guys who have supported me this whole way; She Talks White has been such a cool experience for me, and I can't wait to see what else this show awaits in years to come. I appreciate you all, see you guys in 2021!!

Hey y'all! Just by looking at the title, I'm sure you guys can get a good guess of the focal point for this episode. Yes, this episode will be touching on "crushes." Ah, don't you just love the intense emotional rollercoaster that comes with having one? I felt the need to touch on this topic..for no particular reason. I just really felt as though this is a verryyyy pertinent topic that needs to be discussed, as we literally all experience the dilemmas of having crushes at some point in our journeys through adolescence (hehe). That being said, I hope you guys will be able to relate to my exasperation on some level. Enjoy! ;)
Heyy y'all! As you can tell by the title, this episode is merely centered around anime. For the past year, I've indulged in a lot of anime, and it is something I am really fond of. As you can tell, this is a longer episode (so sorry haha) because anime is something I love to talk about...and I tend to get a bit overzealous. I just feel that anime, as a whole, is really misunderstood, so I took it upon myself to dedicate an entire episode explaining it and all of its beauty. I really hope this episode inspires a least some of you guys to attempt watching an anime show a least one of the recommendations I gave you at the end of this episode ;)

What's up guys! I am very happy to finally be doing an episode that fully touches on mental health. I know that I snuck in a few sentiments regarding mental health in my last two videos, but this episode is all in. This episode is pretty raw, and very much candid. Along with discussing the nature of my mental health, I also explain how a lot of the issues that I'm facing stem from the societal nuances that come with being a black girl. I'm excited for y'all to hear this one, enjoy!

Heyy y'all! I kept my promise, so today's episode does, indeed, touch on Microaggressions. I wanted this episode to be a bit of an introduction on microaggressions, and I wanted to give you guys a little bit of a rundown of how I plan to tackle them in future episodes (I needed to give you guys a bit of a "prep" lol). All in all, I'm going to be giving y'all surface knowledge of microaggressions because often times, people are rather confused on what they actually are. "Are they just stereotypes?" "Are they technically racist??" Don't worry, I got you guys. Just sit back and receive 17 minutes of knowledge (well, actually about 10 initial minutes of me ranting about Apple Podcast and raving about a new book....and like 3 minutes of me giving a sappy speech at the end. But besides that, enjoy!)

What's up y'all??! Welcome to the She Talks White podcast. I'm Syd, and I'm your host! I'm just a 16 year old eager to educate the masses on micro-aggressions and other pertinent issues that deeply affect black girls within white spaces. Here, we will also be touching on some other pretty heavy topics such as racial injustice and mental health so be prepared for a longgg ride.
Oh wait, I also can't forget to add that we'll also be having fun along the way. I hope you're prepared to talk about hot shows, anime, music, books and other popular teen fads!
I created this podcast not only because I wanted have an outlet for my own voice, but to provide a space where black girls, like myself, can truly feel understood and heard. I'm so excited to embark on this journey with you! :)
