We're a friendly and growing community of people from many backgrounds who have found fresh hope and forgiveness through Jesus Christ – and it's all because of Jesus' death and resurrection two thousand years ago. This is truly life changing, so we're committed to sharing this message with others.
This passage gives us a ‘slow motion’ moment: Uzzah touches the ark of God, and instantly falls down dead. How do we make sense of that? What does it show us about God, and about us? What we’ll see is that God decides how we should worship him - not us. And that’s the difference between us coming up with the idea of ‘God’ and God telling us how we should respond to him. Listen along as we see who God truly is, and how we should worship him in truth.

Renier Van Der Klashorst is updating us with the work of Compassion Australia and teaching what Isaiah has to say about how we might integrate our faith and our works.
We all know ‘leaders’ who are more focused on themselves than the people they’re leading. Scripture isn’t naive to that reality. In fact, we meet two such leaders in today’s passages. But in contrast to power-seeking leadership, we see David embody peace-making leadership. And in so doing, he points us to Jesus, the leader we truly need today. Listen along as we explore 2 Samuel chapters 2-5 to see how a true leader pursues peace, not power.
As we begin 2 Samuel together, we open to a surprising scene: David grieves for the dead King who was trying to kill him. Why isn't he happy about this? As we'll see, it's because of things that matter deeply to God and therefore matter deeply to David. Join us as we consider what matters to us and how grief can bring it to the surface.

We’ve been on “The Road to Resurrection” for quite a while - and today Jesus gives us His final words to His followers. The passage today is going to answer the question “How is Jesus Kingdom revealed on earth?”
Most people won't admit it, but when we really think about it, death is a fearsome thing. Even more terrifying is the idea of hell. But as we'll see in this important part of Matthew's Gospel, Jesus faced death and hell for us. And that changes everything. Join us this Good Friday as we unpack the wonderful and gut-wrenching love Jesus poured out on the cross for us.

The moment has finally come: Jesus now faces the crucifixion he's been focused on for so long. It's a harrowing scene. But part of what draws us in, perhaps, is that we see ourselves in this scene. What if we are like the soldiers, religious leaders and criminals that mock him - even kill him? As we'll see, our sinful deeds caused Jesus' shameful death. And the more we sit with that reality, the more thankful we'll be for what Jesus has done
Easter is just two weeks away, and before we reach the moment of Jesus’ death, we see two people in the middle of the stage: Judas and Pilate. Both of them have some level of regret over sin or concern for Jesus, but they don’t manage to respond rightly to him. How can we avoid the errors they make? Dan walks us through Matthew 27:1-26 to show us the danger of being close, but not close enough - and the only way to fix it.
Why is there so much opposition to Jesus? Ultimately, it comes back to who he claims to be. In Matthew 26, Jesus is mistreated, misrepresented and misjudged - but he shows himself to really be the Messiah. How will you respond to who he really is? Join us as we consider some big claims about Jesus and what they must mean for our lives today.
The men who followed Jesus for years are about to see the cross looming ahead - and they’re all going to run away. They said they’d die with him, but they fail to stand with him. We too fail to keep our commitments to God. What do we need to know when our resolve fails? Dan unpacks Matthew 26:30-46, showing us how Jesus’ faithfulness makes all the difference.
The last meal Jesus shares with his disciples is full of meaning. Why do we celebrate the Lord’s Supper? Why do we do this and not something else to remember Jesus? Join us as we consider what the Lord’s Supper means and who is welcome at the table.
Jesus is about to die, and it’s not what he deserves. So Matthew gives us a flashback to a time when he receives something much closer to what he really deserves: true worship. Why would someone worship Jesus like the woman in this story? Listen along as Dan unpacks Matthew 26:1-13 for us.
There's a day coming that will change everything. All of humanity will be divided into two groups: those who are with Jesus, and those who are against him. Do you know where you'll stand? Believe it or not, it has something to do with how we treat people in need. Listen along as Dan explains this passage for us, showing how when someone experiences God's compassion, they show compassion to others - and that's the sign of where they truly stand.
Jesus is going to return, but he tells us there’ll be a wait. What should we do while we wait? The Parable of the Talents shows us how God gives each of us significant responsibility. What should we do with it, and what are the eternal results of our response? Join us as we consider what this powerful story means for us both today and forever.
Australia suffered under some of the worst bushfires in history just a few years ago. And yet many people weren’t prepared for them. Today, we turn to Matthew 24-25 and hear Jesus prepare us for his return. How can we make sure we’re ready? Listen along as Dan explains Jesus’ words, which give us one truth and three stories to prepare us for his coming.
We now come to the climactic point of Matthew’s gospel. Jesus will be arrested, crucified and raised from the dead. Many of us know how the story goes - but do we appreciate how earth-shattering it is? What does Jesus’ death and resurrection really mean for us and for the world? Join us as we follow Jesus on The Road to Resurrection this term. We begin today by reviewing Matthew 1-23 through the lens of who Jesus really is - the Son of God and the Son of Man.
We’ve seen how our big prayer as a church must be to grow in knowing Jesus, and in loving his church. Today we see how that flows into the final part of our prayer - to grow in reaching the lost. Evangelism is something most of us find very difficult. But God’s plan is for the local church to reach the lost together. Listen along as Dan unpacks 1 Peter 2:1-12, showing us how we declare and display our God as a people, not just as individuals.
Why do we gather every sunday morning and sing together? Today we will unpack God’s design for worship as His people praise Him through singing together.
Life might seem easier if we didn’t have to gather with our church. We wouldn’t have to put up with people who sometimes annoy and hurt us, for a start! But God’s plan has always been to gather a people together who share a common faith in the gospel - even if they’re different to each other, annoy each other, and sometimes hurt each other. This week, we’ll see how “loving his church” marks who we are at Coast Bible, as we open up Colossians 3 together.
For the next few weeks, we’ll hear about our big prayer as a church - Knowing Jesus, Loving his church, Reaching the lost. This is what we believe God wants to see in our church for years to come! This week we begin by seeing what Scripture says about knowing Jesus, particularly in the experience of the apostle Paul.
Guest speaker Zach Mamo brings us a sermon from Philippians, discussing how we can avoid living in isolation as Christians but rather finding joyful partnership together as Christian brothers and sisters.
The day has come at last - their wait is over! Simeon and Anna have been waiting their whole lives to see the Messiah. Finally, their longing is fulfilled. What can we learn from them, both in their waiting and in their response to seeing Jesus? Find out this week as we finish the season of advent together in Luke 2:22-38.
We continue “waiting with God’s people” this week by meeting Jesus’ mother, Mary. In many ways, Jesus is not what she’d been waiting for; she was a young woman waiting to get married, not become the mother of the Messiah! But she discovers, as we can, that Jesus is better than we can imagine.
Christmas is here before we know it! It’s easy to take this season for granted. It’s especially easy to miss the significance of why Jesus came. This week, we’ll begin “waiting with God’s people” for advent by following the account of Zechariah and Elizabeth. 2000 years ago, they were waiting for a child. But they didn’t realise that God was going to answer their prayer in a much bigger way than they expected.
1 John 5:13-21. In our last passage from 1 John, we consider the question: what difference should my assurance in Christ make to my life? As we’ll see, it makes us confident to ask God for things, intercede for stumbling Christians, and overcome sin in our lives. These are things we can do with boldness because of our confidence in Christ.
1 John 5:6-12. Plenty of Aussies believe in something spiritual. But why should we? What’s the best reason to believe in spiritual things? And even more than that - what’s the better reason to believe in Jesus? This week we’ll see why we can trust the Bible’s message about Jesus, and what that means for our lives.
1 John 5:1-5. You might be a Christian today. But how do you know you’ll still be one tomorrow? None of us know what’s around the corner, and all of us know someone who’s ‘fallen away.’ Today’s passage shows us that the reason any of us is a Christian is because God has given us life. And that has massive implications for our ongoing assurance. Listen in as we discover how to know whether we’ll make it to the end.
We all find it hard to love people, even those closest to us. What do we need to know when we’re at the end of our rope and the tank has run dry? Join us this week as we discover why Christians must love each other, with a life-changing answer rooted in the very character of God.
The spiritual world is real, and sometimes we see it with our own eyes. Religious movements and groups sometimes spring up around spiritual events. But how can we tell if this is a movement of the Holy Spirit? What if it’s a movement of the human spirit, or something worse? This week’s passage shows us how to test any movement that appears to be spiritual, and see if it’s really from God.
There are times when Christians need reassurance. The key is to see who God really is. Join us as we work out how to reassure our doubting hearts with the good news that “God is greater.”
There’s nothing controversial about John’s command for Christians to “love one another.” But what really is love? Here things become more difficult, both in what it means and how to live it out. Join us as we unpack the Bible’s definition of love and how it must shape our lives.
1 John 3:4-10. Many of us lie in bed sometimes wondering, “Am I really a Christian?” After all, I still do things God doesn’t want me to! Today’s passage shows us that a genuine Christian can’t keep sinning. But how does that fit with the reality that we do still sin? Listen along as Dan unpacks 1 John 3:4-10.
Today continuing with 1 John, Ethan is going to give us 3 encouragements to Abide in God.
This Psalm asks the question, in the midst of opposition and hardship, will David’s shame prevent him from turning to God for help? We pray that you will be strengthened by David’s example to trust God even when you find yourself in a hole you have dug for yourself.
1 John 2:18-27. False teachers have existed since the very beginning of Christianity. How can we protect ourselves from them, so we don’t get led astray? Listen along as Dan explains how God makes false teaching clear for us, and assures us that what we believe is far better.
1 John 2:15-17. There’s always pressure on Christians to ‘get with the times.’ Today we’ll see why we should never give in to that pressure. Why is it impossible to love both God and the world’s values? In this passage, God warns his people not to turn away from him, while also encouraging those who resist the ways of the world to keep going.
Young or old, it can be tough to stay a Christian in today’s world. Listen along as we hear this stirring call to confidence from 1 John.
Some Christians feel like imposters, when actually they’re safe in Christ. Other people feel very confident in their faith, but there’s little evidence that they’re actually saved! How can we know if we’re really a Christian? In this week’s passage, we’ll see how. God gives us either assurance or a warning, depending on what we need to hear from him through John.
Many Christians find it hard to tell others about Jesus. This week, at our inaugural church camp, we immerse ourselves in Paul’s passion for evangelism. What made him push through the hardship and keep declaring the gospel? Four big truths: the goal of history, the gravity of hell, the goodness of the gospel, and the glory of God.
John sets his crosshairs on two false teachings about sin. Why might we be so tempted to minimise what sin is? And how can we make sure we don’t? This week Dan shows us how sin is both unacceptable and undeniable - and that holding both truths together is vital.

What can change the world? Everyone has an opinion, but what will bring lasting change? We’re going back in time to see how the world in Isaiah’s era needed changing just as much as ours does. The answer God gave them is the same one we need today. Listen in as Dan unpacks Isaiah 9:1-7 and shows us how and when true change will come.
It’s one thing to say “there’s nothing to fear.” But how does this fit with the command to “fear the Lord”? And how does this actually help us to live? Dan takes us through Isaiah 8:11-22 to show us the answer.
Why do I need to dwell on the bad news? Bad news is not always nice to dwell on, but embracing the bad news is the only way to the good news! We will see in Isaiah 6, that God's people need to understand the bad news in order to turn back to God and receive the good news of his mercy and grace. But how will they respond to the bad news? Listen along as Ethan unpacks the next section of Isaiah with us.

What do you do with someone when they don’t want to change? This is the predicament we face when we look at Israel in Isaiah 2-4. Only God can shift the pride they’re stuck in. But how will he do it? And how will he change us when we don’t want to change? Listen along as Dan unpacks the next section of Isaiah with us.
In Isaiah 2, God shows Isaiah his plan to bring a flood of people to know and worship him, streaming in from every nation on earth. How must this vision of the future shape the way we live?
We begin our time in Isaiah 1-12 by hearing God speak to his people. Israel has been mired in sin for centuries. What does God have to say to them in their sin? And what does he say to us when we’re stuck in patterns of rebellion? Join us as Dan unpacks Isaiah 1:1-20, the actual words of God himself, who speaks with both shocking severity and surprising intimacy.

For more, check out ‘Delighting in the Trinity’ by Michael Reeves, and this helpful quote from Joel Beeke:
The gospel is essentially Trinitarian. Every member of the Trinity performs an indispensable function in our salvation. Without God the Father, there would be no one to send the Son and Spirit into the world, to accept the Son’s sacrifice, or to hear the Spirit-wrought prayers of the redeemed. Without the obedience and sufferings of God the Son, no one could escape God’s curse or enjoy God’s blessing in the Spirit. Without the renewing work and indwelling presence of God the Spirit, no one would benefit from Christ’s redemptive work or have any assurance of being reconciled to God as his child. Apart from the divine Spirit, God could not dwell within the hearts of the redeemed to relate them to the Father and the Son. Without the Trinity, the gospel disappears.
