Dan and Matt with a short episode this week as we talk about upcoming LVO sign ups and the new cards for Padme.
We missed a week but we're back! No Jeff but we do have a 'voice from the past' join us as we talk about current events, Star Wars news, some hobby chat, and a quick game recap and how much better Ninja Warrior would be with Jedi involved.
Also here's the products we reference during the show: https://6upsupply.com/
Hey Outriders, we're back again with another episode. News is still slow (which we understand given the state of worldly events), but we did get in a few games this week and dust off our models.
We briefly recap about our games, I FINALLY started putting paint on models again, and we do something unusual by discussing tactics. Mostly it's Dan and I going over our preferred load-outs and play-style for Iden/Dio and Cassian/K-2SO as we expect to see them hitting everyone's tables in the coming weeks.
Stay safe Outriders, and we'll see you in 2 weeks for the next episode.
It's good to record some live content. Restrictions have been eased, so while keeping precautions in mind, we met for a 500 point game and recording session. We talk about the our TTS experiences and the newly leaked Cad Bane cards.
Hoping things are shifting back to normal, stay safe Outriders.
In this episode, hosts Matt, Dan, and Jeff discuss announced release dates through September. Dan and Jeff talk about using TTS to get a remote game in and how Iden Versio and Cassian/K-2SO performed.
We go over the details for the newly announced Line of Sight Silhouette Template and share our thoughts. Lastly we chat about some changes to tournament scoring and a few updates made to the tournament rules.
Stay safe, Outriders. Cassian said I had to.
(You'll have to indulge me on this episode's title. I've been watching a lot of The Good Place lately.)
In this episode of the Legion Outriders, hosts Matt, Dan, and Jeff discuss the upcoming Star Wars: Legion Vital Assets expansion, how the new Battle Cards affect our decisions during army building, and which cards we do and don't like the look of.
Also, Dan also gushes over Inferno Squad and Gideon Hask, Jeff prepares to fire up the painting forge for Clan Wren helmets, and Matt finally decides to STAP. (We also talk about AT-RTs, I just couldn't think of clever segue.)
Lastly, a long range transmission came through and we made a small update to our intro/outro segments.
With everything that's happening in the world right now, it feels like we're watching an episode of Black Mirror that hits too close to home. On the brighter side of things, FFG has been consistent with Star Wars: Legion news, articles, and live streams of new units coming out. We took sit down to discuss what we like about Cassian & K2SO and Iden & ID10, and all the awesome things they'll hopefully bring to both sides of the table.
Thanks Outriders for supporting the podcast, stay healthy, and we'll see you in two weeks!
Hey Outriders, welcome back to another episode. It's been an eventful two weeks. Jeff returns from Batuu and Rise of the Resistance with a brief spoiler-free insight about the new Disneyland ride. There have been ups and downs on the Legion front. Asmodee changed their replacement policy, and some units made it to stores and shelves, while some were delayed. Lastly, we finally got a freshly updated Rules Reference Guide from FFG.
Join us while we have a chat about Star Wars: Legion.
Now there are two of them! John tags in while Matt's not feeling great. This was a fun episode to record, we had so much to discuss. A light sprinkling of Star Wars news at the beginning, some discussion about both tanks that are right around the corner, and units we've had a change to play with recently.
And oh yes...those sweet treats that FFG dropped on us. We talk about Cad Bane, Padme, BX series droids, and ARC troopers. Thanks for listening and we'll be recording again on February 29th.
Well Outriders, the after-party is over...LVO2020 is a wrap! We all had a great time, and I'm already looking forward to LVO2021. In the meantime, we have a lot to unpack this episode. The great L.J. Pena drops by to talk Invader League, Clone Wars, and who we are voting for to be the Legion President.
Clone Wars Watch continues, meanwhile we discuss our lists for the new meta and why we are burning for the new R2D2 expansion!
What a week this has been! The meta has been upended with point changes all over the place. On top of that, Luke and Vader's Operative Command Cards have been revealed, and we talk about how shoretroopers are changing the way Imperial armies play.
Welcome to the Tauntaun age...now how do you kill them? The guys count down the top 10 ways to stop tauntauns before they get to the first marker. We also talk a bit about painting tauntauns and an old friend stops by to harass...ahem...visit us.
John, Matt, and guest host Jeff talk upgrade expansions and how the meta may be shifting drastically in the next few months. Welcome to the Wild West!
FFG has blessed us with all the news you can shake a lightsaber at! We talk new Clone Wars units, new terrain kits, Rules updates, and the controversy that is rocking the Legion community.
We take a look a the Command Cards revealed in the Clone Wars live stream, bid farewell to Josh, but welcome back John and Zach.
The gang is reunited...and just in time to talk about the Droideka, Greivous, and BARC spoilers!
We had to sadly skip a week, but we're back now with our thoughts post-Worlds, Josh has had a chance to get his brush on some Contrast paints, and we talk about the latest spoiler thanks to our friends in Europe!
Does the triple sniper/trooper spam meta got you down? Do you need something to keep you interested until Sabine and Bossk get here? Would you like to know how you can incorporate a 12 pack of beer into your Legion experience? Give this episode a listen!
With no releases for months and no news to speak of, we are left to get creative with our game. We discuss how to create custom scenarios to vary your gameplay, speculate on when we may see products ship, and chat about what games are we playing in the meantime.
LJ stops by to talk the Final Four of the Invader League, the rules updates, and recap from Kublacon and Prescott RPQ.
We talk upcoming RPQs, how to get crackle effects on buildings, and have the Rebels fallen behind the Empire in the competitive scene?
With Invader League Season 3 Elimination Rounds underway, we pretend to know how to analyze the competitive meta. We also take a look at whether Sabine's upgrades are worth taking and who really is "objectively better."
With the Legion community abuzz with controversy, we address the tough questions on everyone's mind: how was Josh's wedding and when are these new paints available? We will also discuss a recent tournament decision involving a top player and accusations of cheating.
John and Matt mourn the loss of someone near and dear to their hearts: Peter Mayhew. Oh, and Josh is gone this week. We recap our first game using the new Terrestrial Slipper, look at the new Legion Tournament Circuit website, and finish our March/April/May Madness tournament to pick the best unit in Star Wars Legion.
The vehicles have arrived, so we take a look at how to use them, how to fight them, and how they make shift the meta. We also talk about how to diversify the terrain at your FLGS, recap our trip to the Scum and Villainy Cantina, and tackle some Q&A's.
Matt returns from Star Wars Celebration without a Vader, but with lots of stories and we take a look at how newcomers to Star Wars Legion can catch up and how to build your Battle Card deck.
While Matt geeks out at Star Wars Celebration, John and Josh talk about the newest Imperial announcement...Dewbacks and Shoretroopers! Matt did some recon work for us and gave us the sneak peak of everyone's favorite Civilized Warrior, Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Josh and Matt are joined by LJ Pena and Nick Freeman to talk about all of the goings-on from this past weekend's Adepticon Last Chance Qualifiers and High Command Invitational, and they'll also take a look at the Occupier tank and X-34 mounted weapons, plus a little look into the efficiency of the AT-ST and the T-47 (yes, it really is as bad as you think.)
As a disclaimer, there is one NSFW word around the 20 minute mark or so, but it's foreshadowed, so you should have plenty of time to skip that before it actually happens!
The Clone Wars have been revealed! We bask in all the glory of Obi Wan, Gen. Grievous, and the Rolly Bois, discuss the newest upgrade cards for the tank and Terrestrial Slipper, and update our Imperial March Madness brackets.
Get your brackets together folks, it's time for our first annual Imperial March Madness Tournament! We are pitting our favorite (and overlooked) Legion units against one another in a winner-take-all Battle Royale! Also, we take a look at the recently previewed Krennic Command cards and chat about all of the big Star Wars news. (Old Republic Trilogy anyone???)
Dust off those snow terrain tables because Legion is going to Hoth! We take a look at the Tauntauns and Rebel Vets and decide if they are worthy of a Josh-rant. Also we talk about the latest Operation kit.
The FFG team blessed us with a cornucopia of new cards during their live stream, so we take a look what those might mean for the upcoming releases...plus we tackle the user submitted questions.
The guys take a look back at our first episode and see how our predictions have turned out, discuss the new event-exclusive Vader sculpt, and theorize what it might take to make the T-47 a viable unit.
Everyone's favorite doomed indie-rock band is now on the shelves, so the guys chat about how to use them (and why John only listens to their earlier stuff.) We also break down the new rules changes and celebrate our 1 year/ 50 episode anniversary!
Back on schedule after the tournament high starts to wear off. We finally get a chance to tackle the big news of the week: Sabine, Bossk, and the seductively-posed AT-ST expansion. And of course, we welcome back FFG wunderkind Luke Eddy to talk about the inside scoop on Legion.
The guys sit down (in person!) with L.J. Pena and Nick Freeman to discuss the biggest event in Legion's short history, the Las Vegas Open! We recap what lists won, why this event was so successful, and which Outrider managed to lose to a T-47.
T-minus 7 days til LVO, and the guys are gearing up! We recap some prep games, discuss the new organized play, and discover Josh's obsession with an obscure Star Wars actor.
We've got our specialists and now it's time to establish our Command hand before LVO. Do the new command cards rank among the best? Will Standing Orders be dethroned as the only "must have" card in the game? Can John actually count to 5? All these questions will be answered on this week's Legion Outrider Podcast!
Big news this week! We've got transports, tanks and speeders on the way, we analyze the full spoilers on the Rebel Specialists expansion, and explore the legend of Spleemo Magnetbutt.
The guys discuss whether the Specialists should be legal at LVO, how your friendly local game store can effect the Legion community, and John eulogizes an FFG favorite with his rendition of Sarah McLaughlin. Sad reacts only.
We ring in the New Year with Legion Hero and Impact X founder Nick Freeman, as he shares his new campaign supplement, Gathering Legions. He also talks Leia/Han/Chewie and the proper way to use Palp.
Happy Holidays from the Outriders! We recap our first games with the Wookiees and talk about the Prison Break scenario, debate who was the best bounty hunter not named Boba Fett, and announce the winners of this month's Patreon drawings.
Laugh it up, fuzzballs...the Wookies are here! We also wrap about the new OP kits, new theme missions, and what role Nick Nolte could play in the new TV series.
The guys debate whether or not a melee-centric list is viable, what the future holds for organized play, and discuss how the latest errata is shaping competitive play.
It was a big news week for Star Wars Legion, so we've got plenty to talk about: is Chewie everyone's BFF? Are Veers and Krennic the new Wonder Twins? Will we ever find Josh's restraining bolt? These questions, and more, will be answered on this week's Legion Outrider Podcast!
After stuffing ourselves with Rogue One News and Thanksgiving meals, we jump right into our Christmas wish list, Josh breaks down his actual list for LVO, and we announce our monthly Patreon raffle winners!
With Thanksgiving upon us, the Outriders recorded early, and what a time to record ahead of schedule!
