The Easter story is as disorienting as our lives sometimes. It begins with throngs of people anticipating the coronation of a king only to get a crucified criminal. From hopeful to despair in the course of days. It’s the same with our lives. Events that we didn’t anticipate can easily undermine our faith in God and lead to questions and doubt. But you aren’t alone. They did for Jesus' initial followers on Easter weekend as well. I shared insights on how repairing relationships is not intuitive and often requires intentional effort and practice.We discussed the four key decisions to make when repairing broken relationships: choosing to get back to, not get back at; owning your slice of the blame; making the first move regardless of who moved away first; and keeping the door open with the welcome mat out. These decisions are crucial in fostering reconciliation and preventing regrets in relationships.I also highlighted the significance of maintaining open communication and extending grace in relationships, drawing parallels between repairing earthly relationships and being reconciled to God. Addressing and owning my part of the blame depends on me. This means reconciliation always begins in the mirror. It begins by praying, “If there’s something I need to own in this, I want to own it.” That may be the beginning of freedom for you because you can’t do anything about them. It begins with us doing what we hope and pray the other person is willing to do.
Jesus could have forgiven at arm’s length, but not reconciled. Reassembling requires movingin the direction of the unreconciled. If we choose to follow Jesus, we’ll do the same. We will move and remove every obstacle possible. The goal isn’t reconciliation; the goal is no regrets. What's stopping you?
Open hands are a reminder of who it all comes from. Open-handed living safeguards us from obsessing over what’s there rather than who placed it there. “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven” (John 3:27). Jesus invites you into a life of joy, contentment, and happiness.
The virus of insecurity presents in many, many ways, making identifying and treating the virus difficult. Most of us attempt to treat the symptoms, but unless we root out the real cause, we’ll never fully heal. In the Psalms, King David reminds us that we have divine security, and he should know because he, too, suffered from the virus.
Most of us have been taught to monitor our behavior but not our heart. But bringing guilt, anger, greed, and jealousy into the light weakens their power over our soul. It's why we must to learn how to monitor and guard our heart.
Have you ever felt like there's a gap between how people see you and who you truly are? It's a common struggle, and it can leave us feeling disconnected and even unhappy with ourselves. But surrendering to and following Jesus can can make your life better because it closes this gap, leading to inner peace and a self you're genuinely happy to live with.
The story of Christmas is a story made up of disbelievers and doubters. The good news is that if doubters and disbelievers brought us the story of Christmas, there is room for all of us.
The story of Mary can easily be curated but ultimately it's a story of uncertainty, embarrassment, and tragedy. Yet, God's favor rested on her and it rests on us despite what our circumstances seem to communicate.
God made an in-spite-of promise to Abraham that could not be un-done by Abraham's failure or our own failure. It was a promise that would bless the entire world.
We set out to create a different kind of church. A movement that would tear away every unnecessary barrier for people to find life and freedom in Jesus. You are doing that and we want to celebrate it. And we want to let you know we are just getting started.
"Unexpressed gratitude is ingratitude". Let's let internal gratitude lead to external gratitude in the relationships in our life.

God often uses the “weak.” Which means if God is calling you to something and you don't feel ready - you're perfect. God uses our weakness and vulnerabilities to show off his strength. We often disqualify ourselves from God using us to be his hands and feet because of our lack. Or we use it as an excuse to not be used by God out of fear. But God works through, redeem, and transform our vulnerabilities into great things. It is often these weaknesses that specially qualify us for things.
It's easy to believe a lie about what will make us free only to end up more enslaved than ever. The way of Jesus can seem restrictive initially but ultimately it's the counterintuitive path to freedom.
We all have believed lies about what we thought would make us happy. The lie is that if I prioritize my own pleasure I'll be happy. But you won't. The reality is when you prioritize fulfillment over pleasure, you get both. And ultimately, you find happiness.
Some of the biggest lies we believe are the lies about who we are. Once you discover the truth about who you are it becomes a catalyst for all that God wants to do in you and through you.

Nothing is Wasted // God never wastes anything which is really good news for us. Because heaven is a reminder that God will not give up on his creation and that nothing we experience in this life will be wasted. No matter how hard things are right now, we can know that God will not waste our pain, our hope, or our life.
Ever felt like heaven didn’t seem that compelling? You would never say it out loud but you’ve thought it. For many people the idea of heaven is an existence separated from everything we know. But the reality is that we were created for life in this world. Ultimately, heaven is the fulfillment of God’s original design for this life and our world at its best.

Bryant Golden // The brand of Christianity that many have been exposed to seems obsessed with moralizing society. We point our fingers and call out how other people should act and behave. People who never signed up to follow Jesus in the first place. Yet, Paul made it abundantly clear that we are to love others and stop judging outsiders. It's none of our business. Ironically, it's that brand of the Jesus movement that changed the world once.

Those who understand what it means to follow Jesus understand that God could not love you more and nothing you can do can cause him to love you less. Which means sin should always break our hearts not make us angry. And repentance should always stir our hearts.

WE are The Church. We are a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-generational movement called to change our city and the world. Jesus promised as we gather on mission, his power is unleashed in a unique way.

Everyone is devoted to something, careers, money, family, children, fitness, food etc. The things we’re devoted to will have a huge impact on our lives and ultimately shape how we treat the people around us. In Jesus’ time the religious leaders claimed to be devoted to God but their true devotion to self was evident in how they treated the people God called them to care for. Truly being devoted to Jesus means we are devoted to helping the people he’s calling us to help.
