When Jonathan and his armour bearer defeated the whole Philistine army in 1Samual 14, he was one of only 2 men in Israel who had swords. The other man was his father, the king, who was taking it easy under a pomegranate tree. Jonathan used the 'power/sword' to save his people but Saul did not.
As believers we also have great power. In Romans 1:16, Paul describes the 'power of God for salvation' as the gospel, power to save many people. Let's look at this great power!
TIM KELLER describes the gospel as follows: The GOSPEL is that I am so sinful that Jesus had to die for me, yet so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time. I can’t feel superior to anyone, and yet I have nothing to prove to anyone.

Today Ps Jacques looks at the story of Jonathan and his armour bearer and how it took faith for them to go up and defeat Philistines. We see how God indeed showed up on their behalf as they aligned themselves with what God was doing and how He can surely do the same with us.
Today Ps Jacques looks at the story of 4 friends in Mark 2:1-12, who were on a mission to get their friend who needed healing to Jesus. We consider the depth of the Great Commission that we have been given by God, our Father which is to be "Passionate about Him and His people," and what that looks like according to His will.
Ps Jacques continues from last Sunday message of being sent. We look at how Jesus commissioned the 12 disciples in the same way He later commissioned the 70 and how He commissions us still today. May you be encouraged to take up Jesus's Great Commission as your personal daily mission.

Today we look at the story In Mark 5:24-34, Of a women who spent 12 years of her life bleeding externally and ''internally'' from the wounds she was carrying from being kept away from the rest of the world and from worshiping the Lord as she was unclean, but because of her faith she wasn't only healed but restored in spirit and in her identity.
God meets us with our mustard seed faith and in faith we are to Accept, Believe and Confess the of God.

From John 11 we see how Jesus raising Lazarus wasn't only for Mary, Martha and Lazarus but for many. As God releases miracles on Earth, we see how we can be recipients of these miracles but also get to partner with Him as He does so.
How Jesus performed this miracle of giving the beggar his sight & his interactions with him, demonstrate the Lord's depth of redemption. This miracle encounter with Jesus transformed the man from a poor rejected beggar into a bold, faith-filled believer who could finally see, both physically & spiritually. There are so many storms raging in the world, & in people's lives right now, yet we take courage that Jesus is the Lord who has authority over the wind & waves. If we can choose to allow Him to be Lord, & follow His lead to walk in the authority He's given us, we can come through with the spirit of strength & might that He's working inside of us. Be encouraged by the promise of overcoming that He's given!
This message looks at a question that Jesus put to his disciples right after He calmed the storm on the lake. How did Jesus do this? The disciples were in awe of His authority. We further look at what spiritual authority looks like for every believer. Enjoy!

Psalm 139 is a pillar passage for Ps Jenny. In this time of shaking, we need to hold on to & reinforce the pillars of our convictions - aspects like our identity, how present God is, in our world, & how well He has made & knows us. We recognise the devil's plans to distort these truths, & ask God to examine our hearts for any agreement with these plans.
Ps Jacques looks at Phil 1:6 'He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ', as a foundation to look at the subject of celebrating progress. We firstly look at WHY WE DO NOT CELEBRATE PROGRESS and then at WHY WE SHOULD CELEBRATE PROGRESS.
