In today's episode, I sit down and talk with Tytist Dean. A Cedarville University Men's Basketball player and a Christian Hip-Hop artist. Tytist shares his testimony and how from the beginning God has directed his path. He talks about his journey in basketball and how he put in the hard work to succeed. He talks about how got the opportunity to play basketball at Liberty and then at Cedarville. We finish up by discussing his music career from talking about the beginnings to now having multiple albums and a hip-hop duo with his sister. His story truly inspires and shares the message of "I'M BLESSED".
In today's episode, I sit down and talk with my amazing and beautiful wife Rebeka. We talk about everything from marriage to Rebecca's first time in America. Rebeka talks about what it is like being married to me and the weird things that I do or interesting things. Let's just say there are quite a bit. Rebeka also talks about what it is like to be a Hungarian in America. It's a great conversation. I am truly blessed!
In today's episode, I sit down and talk with Dr. Jeremy Ervin. A former professor of mine, who is now starting a new STEAM Academy in Xenia, Ohio called the Community STE(A)M Academy. Their goal is to add something more to the already amazing STEM education. Dr. Ervin does a great job of not only explains what makes STEAM different from STEM, but he also does an amazing job of explain how he has seen God work through this new journey. In today's episode, I talk about balancing wedding planning and starting the school year. It has been a crazy adjustment at times, but it has totally been worth it. God is truly working and I hope you hear that!

In today's episode, I decided to talk about not only my week at camp, but the many changes that are happening in my life. Let's just say that August is going to be very stressful and very busy. But in reality I know that God has a perfect plan and perfect timing. There is always a reason for everything and I talk about that today. It is not always easy, but God doesn't quit on us. I hope that you will get some encouragement from the stories I share and the things that are happening. God is good!
In today's episode, I talk about one big thing with a bunch of related ideas. That one main thing is: That God is Our Solid Rock. And along with that, how God will always bring peace to our lives no matter what as long as we follow Him. I think sometimes we get caught up in all of life. Rather, we should focus on God being the center and then everything following that. I can honestly say that I have been at my happiest when God is at the center of my life. He will do amazing things. In today's episode, I talk about the upcoming change of moving to Hungary. As much as I love Hungary, it is still going to be hard to move back without missing my family. As many of you know, I love my family and they mean the world to me. My parents and brother have always been there for me through the thick and thin. Not even to mention how my grandparents were so supportive in all my endeavors. God has blessed me with an amazing family and even though I will be thousands of miles away. I know that they will be close by my heart. Don't waste your time with family. You never know when your time is, use it wisely!
In today's episode, I talk about the changes that will be happening in my life over the next few weeks and months. As many of you know, I am moving back to Hungary. I will be starting my job in August and Rebeka and I will be getting married at the end of August. I am very excited for these next steps in my life, but also nervous and anxious. This is okay because God is in control and we must trust in His will not our own. Hope you enjoy!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about sports, but specifically the coaching aspect. As I state in the episode, the past week has been tiring as a ref. I have learned many things from being a ref and one of the biggest things is that there are two halves to coaching. A good half and a bad half. I decided to touch on both sides and give a summary of what I have experienced. Even though this is about coaching, I believe that the principles that I talk about go with any occupation. We need lead by example and honor Christ. God should always get the Glory!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about my 25th birthday that is happening. As well as, looking back on year 24. I decided to talk about the lessons that I have learned over the past year and how they connect to how year 25 might look. I discuss how change is okay and a challenging circumstance isn't the worst thing. In fact, I talk about how these can be some of the biggest lessons that you will have in your life. In reality, the focus always needs to be on God. He will provide a way.

In today's episode, I decided to honor my mother and really all the mother's out there for everything they do for us. Now, I know I am a week late, but let's be real, everyday should be Mother's Day! My mom has always been there for me, even if that meant sacrificing her own time to do it. I was able to find the top three traits of my mom that has impacted me in multiple ways. My mom has had a huge impact on my life and those around her. She has servants heart and I know will continue to have that kind of heart as long as she lives. Let us celebrate our mother's every single day!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that is really vital to us growing in our walk in Christ and as a person. I have been spending time with a few friends recently and it has given me time to think about the friends I have and the impact they have. Now yes, we can live without friends and we can try and make it without friends, but in all reality, I believe that having good friends is important. It is important to our growth as a person. In today's episode, I decided to talk about the frustration or confusion I had with myself for not being a teacher right after graduation. You work for four hard years and push yourself, so you can get a job in that degree. Now yes, becoming a missionary was where God led me, but it still was hard for me to handle. But I soon realized that the things I learned in my education degree can help me in other jobs and in life. So you see, if you end up not at the job you thought you would be at, that is okay. But make sure that you are following where God is leading and using what you learned in your degree to help others. God WILL use you!
In today's episode, I continue my discussion on teaching. This week I focus on the joys of teaching! Not just in the classroom, but the joys of every aspect of being a teacher. It is really hard to fit everything into one episode, but I hope that it allows you to see the joy that teachers have, but also the struggle. I also hope that these past two weeks allow you to see that the teachers need the encouragement too. We all have had that teacher that has impacted our life. Take some time and say thank you! THEY DESERVE IT!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about my journey into teaching. Over the next two weeks, I will be discussing both my journey into teaching, but also the joys of teaching. I serve an amazing God and my journey was just one of those "wow" moments from God. From a kid who never wanted to be a teacher to someone who loves to interact and teach kids everyday. In today's episode, I decided to talk about my struggles with creating videos and how being away from "home" has been hard for me. Now yes, I am home with my family, but as I have stated before, home for me is where I am at peace. Now, while I love being with family and being able to work. It has been really hard when my heart desires to be home in Hungary. I hope this episode helps you see my heart and how I focus on where God has me now. In today's episode, I discuss the importance of living for Christ especially in the work world. I know it can be hard in today's world, but then again, God never said it was suppose to be easy. Living this life will be hard at times, but we are still called to live for Christ. In this, I discuss the process that I have gone through in order to find the job that God wants me in both in the present and in the past. It is easy to take the job with the most money, but it truly matters to take the job that God knows we need. Are you a light for Christ in your work place?
In today's episode, I decided to give my final thoughts about my year in Hungary and then discuss the differences between Hungary/Europe and the United States. I also give my thoughts on where is home for me. I hope that this episode will give you all some insight in how we can be the change and how we can live for Christ every single day. In today's episode, I finish up my three part series called The Journey Series. Over the previous two episodes, I went into detail on the things that I have learned over this past year. Now, for the final part of this series, I have decided to talk about applying and growing from the things I have learned over the past year. I think it is so important to grow and learn and I hope you all can take some encouragement from me. I hope we can live our life with the purpose of proclaiming God's goodness.

I decided that since I have three episodes left before I leave to head home, that I would use this time to share my journey with you all. Now, throughout this past year you have heard a few things here and there, but more than that I want to share some things that have changed me. In this first part, I decided to talk about my expectations versus what happened. Not just focusing on what changed, but how I now view expectations. I hope that this series can help you in your walk with Christ and allow you to apply lessons to your life.
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something close to my heart. That is the topic of loneliness. We have all faced the feeling of being alone and it is really hard sometimes to understand how to deal with it. So, I thought that today I would tackle this topic and discuss my experiences with loneliness and how I dealt with it. I will be honest and say that i don't have all the answers, but I hope that these experiences will encourage you that God is always with you and you're never alone.
In today's episode, I discuss the age old question, "Why is Ben going back to teaching?" and that is a valid question. The answer is definitely a complex one and I had to cover it in three ways. I hope that by discussing these ways it allows you to see the thought process behind it and hopefully encourage you to pursue the doors God opens for you. The hardest thing was being okay with change and going back to something that I love. There are going to be changes in our lives, but it is how we adapt to them. Let God guide you in your current and future steps. God is good and He is going to be there for you.
In today's episode, I decided to talk about some MAJOR things that have happened in my life in the past week. I got engaged, plus right before recording I got a job offer from a school here. I decided to scrap my notes and just speak from the heart. I serve a God who opens doors that He wants to open and closes doors that He wants to close. Our God is amazing and He will bless those who follow and serve Him. I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life! Even though it will be hard to close this current chapter, it will be amazing to start a new one! May God receive the Glory!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about the age old question: College or No College? This is a question I see being talked about a lot these days and a question that I have thought about many times before. I wanted to first discuss my experience and opinion with honesty. I wanted to be transparent, so that way you can see where I am coming from. Going to college for 4 years was one of the best decisions I ever made and yes, it did come with debt and other things, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I learned so much and I grew so much! That doesn't mean that college is for you and I hope that you have a better incite on what is best for you!

It has been a blessing to share my life with you all for 75 episodes and I can't wait to share it with you for 75 more episodes. I hope that you all have gained a little incite into my ministry and my life. On the other part of the episode, I decided to talk about the ups and downs of these past few weeks and days. And how discouraged I have become for the way many of us have acted and treated other people. No matter what we believe, we need to focus on keeping Christ at the center of our lives.
In today's episode, we continue are discussion on hitting the restart button and looking at my goals for 2021. Now for some, they talk about resolutions, but for me I have always thought goals were better for me. They allow me to see something that I can try and achieve. As for many of us, 2020 was a hard year, but there is no guarantee that 2021 will be easier. But with all of that said, I still think it is important for us to hit the restart button and true look at what we can do to have a better 2021. I decided to talk about my 3 main goals and how I have made each attainable and achievable. Now, yes, for some these might seem weird or too broad, but that is what makes goals amazing. They can change based on the person. I believe this is going to be a great year. Let us get it off on the right foot!
In today's episode, I start a two week discussion on this past year and what to look forward to in 2021. This week I specifically discuss lessons learned in 2020 and how I saw 2020 as a year of growth. I realize that 2020 has been a hard year for everyone, but I wanted to hopefully put a positive spin on it and maybe even encourage some people to look and see what God has been doing. I do believe God has been working and will continue to work. His plan is bigger than ours and we have to remember that. Let us truly remember the Greatness of our God.

It is crazy that it has been a year and over the past few days, I have been thinking over the past few days about all of the lessons and things I have learned over the past year. In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that has been on my heart recently. I have realized lately that throughout these past 9 months, that I have had the tendency to focus on the things out of my control. I have realized over these months, that my focus needs to be on the main thing. I have decided that the things I can't control need to be placed on the side. So as we head into this holiday season, let's focus on the main thing. The birth of Jesus Christ and give up worrying about the things you can't control. Let's put our hope in God!
In today's episode, I decided to start being thankful a week earlier. Especially since I will not have an episode out next week. I have realized that I have so much to be thankful for and that I need to thankful for the blessings I have received. Even in this unknown time, I serve a God who is always in control. I have realized that letting God have control is the best thing we can do. I believe as Christians we forget this quite a bit. We need to focus on allowing God to have control and step back and watch. My life this past year has been full of blessings and I want you to sit back and really look at your life. What has God blessed you with? They are there, we just need to look!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that I think we are all dealing with right now. And that is discouragement! This world is crazy right now and it is really easy to be discouraged and frustrated, so I decided to share some encouragement and strategies with you all to counter discouragement. This is something that I deal with a lot and it can be very depressing, but I have realized that coming up with ways to counter it is crucial. We serve an amazing God and His word should be our go to for encouragement, but I also share some other ways as well! Remember that God is faithful and we can trust Him!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about some things that have been going through my mind over the last few days. This week has been one of the craziest weeks that I have ever witnessed. To many, it might seem like there is no one in control, but in reality there is! Our God is in control. He knows who will win this election and what will happen. So even though some of us might be frustrated, be reminded that God is in control. With that being said, America, we need to rise up and come together. Let us not fight one another, but respect one another. Let us be the country that was founded by our founding fathers. Let's make America something that we want to raise our children in. God is still in charge!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that has been on my heart lately. As we go through this weird and busy part of life, it is easy to get distracted and lose focus on what matters. And that obviously being Christ. So I decided to talk about of few things that have gotten me distracted and honestly put my focus away from Christ. Now, even though these are my opinions, I feel like it is something that we all struggle with from time to time. Let us not just focus on what pleases ourselves or the election or what other people think. Rather, we should own our faith and be an example to others of what the Gospel means. Are you owning it?
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that I get asked about all the time. That "something" is the answer to this question: "Why do you keep making videos and podcast episodes if you don’t get many viewers?" The answer to this question is not that simple, but it can be answered with the term "the 16th view". The 16th view on my first video I made in May 2019 was when I realized that there is more to making videos than to just become famous. This helped me realize this in other aspects of my life. I learned that we can't waste our life because of selfish desires, but instead use our talents to glorify God. That means in my hobbies or my work or even my relationships with others. Do not live for only the 15 "views", instead live for the "views" that follow or the eyes of others that watch you. Remember to live your life for Christ!
In today's episode, I talk about something very near and dear to my heart. I decided to talk about how I have dealt with losing my grandfather 3 years ago. As you all know, losing someone close is hard, but especially when it is someone who you looked up to or consider them like a second father. That was my grandfather. He was an amazing man, with an even more amazing heart. I miss him so much and many times it can be hard to get through the days, but I hope this video helps you all understand and maybe even be encouraged from what I have learned. I will tell you this, after a while you might not hurt as much or cry as much, but what you will do and remember is the memories. But please, do not be like me and waste time with your loved ones, spend as much time as you can because we never know when God will call us home.
In today's episode, I talk about some new things that I have been learning over the past week and how they relate to a bigger lesson. Having a new job can be stressful, but especially when it impacts so many people. Being a tech guy is awesome, but becomes stressful when things go wrong. But it helps knowing that we are helping these student's grow in the Lord. I feel like blessings keep coming and coming. Being able to have a car now is a huge blessing. Not just for Rebeka and I, but also from a ministry aspect. I will be able to do more for the students and staff. God is truly blessing me and all I can do now is honor Him more through what I do here at Word of Life.
In today's episode, I decided to talk about media ministry and the impact it has had on me. These ideas include how I started, what I have learned and what's next! This journey of media has not been easy, but it has truly been enjoyable and rewarding. I have met some amazing people during these last three years, both through videos and through the people surrounding those videos. God has blessed me with the love for media and I see the need for media in ministry. I want this podcast and all that I do to have the foundation of God and nothing else. For the last three years, I have been building to the goal of having a media ministry. This is still the goal. Thank you to all who have come on this journey with me so far, and thank you to everyone who will come with me for years to come.
In today's episode, I decided to talk about the last 6 months and how God has changed me. I have just hit the halfway point in my time here in Hungary! It is crazy to me sometimes to think that I have been here for over 6 months. I can say that God has truly been changing me throughout those 6 months. I have learned so many lessons and things that I didn't even realize about myself. I have been blessed with meeting some amazing people and meeting an amazing girl. God has truly blessed me, but He also has made me realize things about myself that I never knew before. My God is so good and He is always guiding us down the right path. Are you going down that right path? Have given up control and given it to God?
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that has hit me very hard. The time I spend with God (or the lack of time I tend to spend with God). I pose the question of do we have time in our schedule for God...or how I should phrase it...are we seeking to find time for God? This question has hit me hard lately. I realized that many times I try to fit God in my schedule, where in reality I need to put God first and my schedule last. But, I feel as if nowadays we think there is too much going on or we are worried about so many things. When will we just sit back and remember that we serve a God who knows all things. Let us give our WHOLE life to Him and our plans, so that we may further His kingdom!
In today's episode, I am joined by my good friend Misi. I have known Misi for 7 years, but I feel I have known him my whole life. We have been talking for months for him to be on the podcast. And so finally, after camp and everything we found time to record it. If you know Misi, you know he loves to have fun and you can tell from the beginning of this episode that we are going to have fun. But also, we have a really great conversation of living out the Gospel and what his ministry looks like. God has blessed Misi in so many ways and you can see this throughout this episode. I hope that through this episode, you can see the joy that we both live with and maybe want to live with more joy! In today's episode, I wanted to reflect on my holiday (or vacation) and share with you something that really hit me deep down. Homelessness, if you are like me and grew up in a small town. This is not something you discovered in your hometown very rarely. In my case, I never even remember seeing a homeless person in my town ever. It wasn't until I was 16, where I realized that homelessness is real and it is a problem. That is when I was on a missions trip in Denver, Colorado. This is where I had utter shock and God really opened up my eyes to things. To be honest, those thoughts and feelings all left me, until this past week while I was on holiday in Budapest. I saw numerous homeless people day after day. It broke my heart and I realized that in my own life I struggled with homelessness. Maybe not in the outer way, but emotionally and spiritually. I was didn't where to find hope, until I remember to come home to God. I hope this episode encourages you to reach out to those who need it and to help the homeless in your area. Everyone needs to hear the Gospel. We serve an amazing God, let's share about Him!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about the lessons I have learned this summer. This summer have been one of the best summers ever. I have grown and learned so much throughout the summer. From the long hours of video editing to the sanitation of sports equipment. All of this helped grow and mold me. I serve with an amazing team and an amazing God. There is never a day where I don't see Him working. I hope that we all can be focused on living for Him more and ultimately serving Him in everything that we do. I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me next here in Hungary. May I be a servant of Christ!
In today's episode, I am not talking about just camp...well sort of! A big story right now in the U.S. is the cancelling of college football. As many of you know, I am a HUGE Ohio State football fan. So when I heard that they were cancelling the Big Ten season (Ohio State's conference). I was bummed out, but most of all confused. It made me take a moment and think about the rest of the things we do. Is COVID-19 really that devastating? Or are we just looking at the media for answers? Those are questions that I was constantly asking myself over and over again. Now, I know not everything in this episode you will agree with it, but I hope you will listen and hear my perspective. Just know that God is always good and He is in control!
In today's episode, I wanted to cover a topic that is related both to camp and to what is happening around the world. That idea is showing love. I think so many times we hear people say, "show more love, and things will get better." While yes, that might be true, there is more than just that. We need to show love without judgement and in today's world that for some reason seems too hard for people to understand. We need to first understand loving without judgement before we can love. I know this is something that I have struggled with, but I also know that it is important especially during these unusual times. Let's love and not judge. This covers everything from political stances to thoughts on God to lifestyle choices. If we are to live out the Gospel, we must do this!
In today's episode, I wanted to talk about how a conversation with someone can change their life. This happened to me this week during camp and God showed me how by having a simple conversation or showing love to someone can change their life. I had a rough group in basketball this week when it comes to their behavior and honestly I was starting to get frustrated, but I should have known that God was going to do something! For some reason, I decided to work one on one with a young camper with his basketball shot. This turned into a conversation with him through a translator. In today's episode, I wanted to honor a dear friend, who passed away on Monday while on duty as a firefighter. I have known Jason or "Cuff" as I call him, since my junior year of high school. He was playing basketball at Cedarville at the time and I met him at basketball camp. From the moment I met Cuff, he welcomed me with open arms and helped me get through some tough times. He came to a couple of my basketball games and he even drove up for my graduation party. He went out his way many times to be there for me. He was more than a friend, he was a role model. But over the past few years our relationship was not as strong as it once was for many reasons. I wish I would have been a better friend in these last few years. The last few days have made me realize once again that you cannot take this life for granted. We need to use everyday to honor God. This means being there for your friends and even doing the extra to show people God's love. I didn't get to Jason how much he meant to me and how much he had impacted my life. So, this is why I wanted to make this episode, so I could thank him and also encourage you all to never give up on friends or people. Let us remember Jason for the kind and caring man he was! Rest easy Cuff! We love you and miss you!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about some lessons that I have learned so far during camp season. And honestly, I feel like most of these episodes coming up will be focused on that and will hopefully give insight on what God is doing. Anyways, today I wanted to talk about leading, God working, a kid's heart and finally, balance. All of these obviously have their own reasoning, but truly all of these have been lessons that have humbled me. I truly believe that God uses lessons to mold us and build us up. I can honestly say that the last two weeks have been hard, but truly rewarding.
In today's episode, I bring both an update of camp and a podcast episode. I decided to talk about camp and how it is going, but I also decided to talk about the joys of camp. The joys of serving and the joys of seeing God work. We serve an amazing God! It has been a blessing already to see Him working even when sometimes I don't expect it. I personally enjoy when God surprises us with something we didn't expect. This for sure has happened for our camp team this year! Oh and by the way, I gained 41 new brothers and sisters Tuesday night! It's pretty awesome! I love camp!
In today's episode, I wanted to celebrate 50 episodes of the podcast. Now, for you it might not seem that impressive or amazing or even important. But for me, this has been a journey. A journey that covers years of trying find what I love and what I want to do in the future. I can say with 100% certainty that I love this and I want to do this for a long time. This episode covers not only my journey, but the lessons I have learned through this process. In today's episode, we get to TALK ABOUT CAMP! I know I have talked about camp here or there, but I thought I would talk about it more in full this time around. I wanted to cover what camp will look like, what my role is during camp, what I am looking forward too and then lastly prayer requests for camp. I hope that this episode gives you a little insight on what camp will look like, but more importantly the importance of having camp. Let us pray that God will do some amazing things during these next seven weeks. I have seen him bless this ministry over the last 4 months, so there is no doubt in my mind that He can't do it again!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about the lessons I have learned so far in 2020. As many of us have seen, 2020 has been one of the craziest years yet. I know personally that so many things have happened that it is truly hard to actually talk about. So I decided to talk about four specific areas that have been challenged during this first part of 2020. These four areas are change, trust, having faith, and life as missionary. The coolest part is that all of these areas intertwine together and honestly affect my life all together. God has brought challenges over these past six months, but also so many blessings. So I thought I would take this time to talk about all of these different things. I am reminded after all of this that God is faithful, we can trust Him.
In today's episode, I will answer the question in the title. Yes, BEN BOWDEN ATTENDED A PROFESSIONAL SOCCER MATCH! I know, it's hard to believe, but I did and honestly it was an amazing experience! This was actually my second professional match, but the other was in the USA and let's just say I can now agree with people. I can agree when they say, "European soccer is way better than ANY soccer in the USA." I might not know a lot about soccer, but I do know when I see better soccer. But besides that, I really enjoyed the atmosphere! I could somewhat compare it to an Ohio State vs. Michigan football game, but still this was way more intense. The match was Fradi vs. Újpest and let's just say this rivalry is crazy. From the chants to the purple monkeys to the pyrotechnics to finally the hatred between the teams. This was certainly something I have never seen before. I will say that this match gave me new respect for soccer. I hope you enjoyed my thoughts from a guy who barely knows soccer!
In today's episode, I talk about this question, "How can we improve 2020?" The reason I chose this question is because I think it has been something I have been thinking a lot about. Through all of the craziness of this year, it's hard to realize it's half over. So, now as Christians, how do we help improve 2020 and make the last 6 months better than the first 6 months. I came up with three main ways that I think can make a difference. They are love first and listen, let's make change, and focus on Christ a lot more than we are. I know these might not be the best ways, but I feel they are a good start. I think we all can agree that God needs to be the center of our lives in order to make change. God is faithful, we can trust Him.
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that has been on my heart recently and that is how can we be mission minded where we are? God, does not call all of us to go serve overseas, so we need to listen to what God is leading us to do. But I will say that calls us to be mission minded where he has us now. It's hard sometimes to just serve and be mission minded where we are, but I hope that this episode gives you some encouragement to be mission minded where we are. Let's be a mission minded people, willing to go and serve whereever God wants us to serve. Even if that means serving where we are. Our God is in control and He will lead, we just need to follow!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about the future of The Bowden Experience brand. Now, I know I have talked about how I started this brand and what I enjoy about it, but I have never really talked about what is next! It has been on my mind recently and I can say that I am not going anywhere. I am still going to make YouTube videos and podcast episodes, but there is a goal that I never thought would be here. That goal is to create ministry out of what I love to do! I never would have thought when I made my first video 3 years ago, that I would enjoy it and love it so much! The goal is to create a ministry that travels the world capturing the love of Christ that is shown through ministries and missionaries. I don't know when this will happen, but I know I will do my best to make this happen! May God receive the Glory!
In today's episode, I decided to make a quick episode about my birthday weekend! The reason it is short is because of the busyness I have had the past few days. The main thing was getting more episodes for "Behind the Lens" and recording the "Honest Conversation" with Kwenton. So in short I recorded this like past midnight...so let's just say I was a little tired. So please ignore the sound of my voice! Haha! Anyways, I wanted to talk about what I learned over this past weekend and what I love about Budapest. Let's just say that I have some great friends! God is good!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that is coming up really fast and that is SUMMER CAMP! As most of you know, camp here at WOL is probably the highlight of every summer. This year it is a little different for me. Instead of just being here two weeks, I get to be here the whole time and lead sports. The best of both worlds, so since it is coming up, I thought I would share my thoughts on camp and the importance of camp for me. I do believe everyone should experience summer camp in some way. But it doesn't have to be traditional camp. It can honestly be just helping out at church. Just find ways to serve Christ and serve the youth of this world! God is always faithful!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that I normally don't talk about. But I realized that I need to stand up for all lives and stand up for those who are being oppressed. Racism is a huge problem, not just in the US, but all around the world. My heart is hurting for George Floyd's family and for those who are hurting. Those cops need to be put away for a very long time and I hope they will, but that doesn't mean we need to be violent. In fact we need to do the opposite and show love and understanding. I am not saying that we shouldn't protest, but what good is it if we are being violent and tearing down the communities we live in. God calls us to love one another and to love our neighbors. It should not matter what color our skin is or the religion we practice. None of this should matter, but we live in a fallen world. Especially as Christians, we should stand up for those who are being oppressed and who are treated wrongly. Instead of hating and accusing people, we should listen and try and understand people. As Christians, we believe in the Gospel, which God says that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. Not just white's or the rich or the the poor. EVERYONE! So, instead of hating or saying that all people are bad. Let's focus on loving and not hating. God is the only one who can help our world. Remember, Our God is faithful, you can trust Him!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about ways that helped me survive COVID-19. Not just washing hands or using hand sanitizer, but spiritual ways and ways that brought me closer to God. These are ways that have helped me, but that doesn't mean these can't help you. In reality, I think these ways can help all of us in every part of our lives. I have said this a thousand times, God is faithful, and you can trust Him. You might be saying, "Ben, I can't see that in my life." Let me encourage you to dig deep in these ways and maybe apply these to your life. These are not just for a pandemic, but for the rest of our lives. May these be an encouragement to you and your life. Remember that God has you and ALWAYS WILL! He will never forget you or not chase after you, but the opposite! YOU ARE LOVED and GOD CARES FOR YOU!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about some lessons that I have learned throughout this COVID-19 pandemic. I will say that these are just my opinions and lessons that I have learned. I totally understand if you disagree or have something to add. But if you can remember anything from this episode, it's that God blesses those who put their trust in Him even through the darkest times. I realized that I had to remind myself of this constantly because it helped me understand on how faithful God is and that His plan is greater than mine. That is what I hope you also take away from this episode. That God is faithful and His plan is perfect.

In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that I have been dealing with for the past few weeks. And that "something" is loneliness. It is something that I never thought would happen in my life. For the most part, I have never experienced loneliness. It just so happens that for me this came in two different waves for me. For instance, I have been struggling with feeling lonely by being away from friends and family, but also because feeling alone during this time spiritually. Even though I know that is not true. The second wave has been when comes to being single. If you listen to this podcast, you know that I normally don't talk about relationships on here, but today I knew that it was important for me to share with you all. I hope that you take this advice and apply in whatever way seems fit. And remember: God is faithful, you can trust Him. Tune in on Thursday to hear another episode featuring Daniel! In today's episode, I decided to dedicate it to the class of 2020. If you are subscribed to my YouTube page, you would know that I put out a video similar yesterday. The class of 2020 has been on my heart recently, both high school graduates and college graduates. Normally, this is where you would be filled with emotions and celebrating with all your friends, but instead you have to sit at home away from friends. There is a lot that you can look at and be negative, but I think instead, you should look at the blessings. The blessing of friendship, blessing of growth, blessing of relationships, and most importantly growth in Him. Though your career didn't end like you wanted it too, be willing to see the blessings that God has given you. Remember God is faithful, you can trust Him. We love you Class of 2020.
In today's episode, I decided to switch things up and talk about some fun ways to "survive" quarantine. As we all know, this quarantine can be really frustrating. Many times it is easy to just sit in isolation and not doing anything. This can be good occasionally, but finding ways to spend time can be helpful. I know for me, this time in quarantine has given me the opportunity to try new things, that I might not have tried before. Again, its the small blessings! In today's episode, I decided to cover some changes that are going on in my ministry here in Hungary! As I have stated in some of the recap videos and other episodes, we are switching from our normal ministry jobs to doing maintenance. This involves doing what I have been doing on Tuesday and Thursday with Diego and Janos. That is, cutting branches and removing shrubs. Basically making this place look even more beautiful and more functional. With these changes in ministry, comes a lot of learning. What I mean by that is learning how to handle change and be okay with what God is teaching me. Something that can be hard for me. But seeing the blessings in this, has allowed me to focus on what God has in store for my ministry! Remember that God will never give up on you, even if your path in ministry changes!

In today's episode, I decided to talk about two things. They both in some ways intertwine with each other. I first wanted to talk about Cedarville University's Class of 2020. The reason is because many fo these seniors are my friends. I have worked with them, lived with them, went to movies with them, but ultimately have had an impact on my life. I wanted to just share my thoughts and some encouragement to these seniors, who had their educational career flipped upside down. No one could have predicted that this would happen during their thousand days at Cedarville. I know how much Cedarville has impacted you, because it impacted me so much. But I want you to know that God's plan is perfect and you can rest in the comfort of His plan. We love you all! The second part of the episode I wanted to talk about what I have learned in my first 50 days here in Hungary. The highs and the lows, but ultimately learning that God is in control and He is my comfort. God is faithful, you can trust Him!

In today's episode, I decided to talk about family and the impact they have had on my life. I decided to talk about this because it relates to ministry both with YouTube and with Word of Life. My family has always been there for me in all areas of my life. My dad, mom and brother have encouraged and helped me through the tough times and the good times. I have been blessed with a family that cares so much for me and supports me. Now I know that everyone comes from different walks of life, so in this episode I tried to cover the topic from a neutral point for the most part. I wanted to share some ideas that I had on missing family and staying connected. I hope these can encourage you as well. Remember that family is not just blood family, but also your brothers and sisters in Christ. This is also your family. In today's episode, I decided to keep with the theme and talk about my journey with media. Specifically, how I decided to create a podcast and where it all started. I couldn't talk about my podcast without starting at the beginning with Resound Radio. If it wasn't for Resound, I don't know if I would be doing this today. To be honest, I had no idea that I loved it until I tried it. I guess my mom was always right when she said, "you never know until you try it!". When I joined Resound it was to do a sports talk show and I fell in love with it. As you can tell probably from listening to this episode, the love for this grew and grew. After some rough patches and starting again from the ground up, it was hard to say goodbye to Resound. Little did I know, that 9 months later I would be starting a podcast. So without Resound, there is no Full Court Press, and without being on the Full Court Press there is no Real Talk with Ben. I thank God for the journey he has taken me on and for the people I have met along the way. Thank you to all those who helped me get here! Love you all!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that I should have talked about months ago. The journey of The Bowden Experience brand and how it all began. I was posed the question of "how did you start the channel on YouTube and why?". Honestly, I get this question quite a lot and I have been meaning to talk about it, bit just never did...until now! I hope that this story of The Bowden Experience helps show how great God is and how much WE need Him. If it wasn't for Him, I wouldn't be here making videos or podcasts. I am very grateful! In today's episode, I decided to share something else that has been on my heart! I decided to encourage the college students who have been affected by the virus. The students have had to leave school and go home. They have had to start online studying and be pros at it overnight. It has affected us all and I feel close to this because of our BI students having to go home and my alma mater Cedarville. My brother attends there and I have still have friends there. It is hard to see this happen, but what I want to encourage the students with is that Jesus will still be the same Jesus before this and after this! In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that has been on my heart recently. That "something" is the idea of how are we looking at this week when it comes to our faith. As many of you know, it is passion week and this weekend we celebrate easter. This is something that all of us Christians love to celebrate because it is time to celebrate the birth of our Savior! But in these times we are in, I fear that we have lost the joy of celebrating because maybe we fear God has given up, but friends God IS STILL ON THE THRONE! We should take this week and celebrate what God has done in each of our lives. I shared a poem that my friend Campbell Bortel wrote. It goes along with the passion of scripture he preached about, which is Galatians 5:16-26. I wanted to share this poem with you all! Remember God is faithful, you can trust Him!
The Walk

In today's episode, I decided to talk about the ways we all can be sharing the good news of Jesus even during this social distancing era we are living in! I think many times we take technology for granted or we see it as a bad way to share the Gospel. When actually, now more than ever this could be the opportunity to use it to share the Gospel. There are so many ways that we can use it! From FaceTime, to Zoom, to YouTube, to church service streaming and many more! God has given this gift to us, let's not waste it and use it for His Glory! God is faithful, you can trust Him!
In today's episode, I decided to talk about some of the lessons I have learned throughout this journey of being a missionary. I also decided to talk about getting rid of the why questions. Such as "Why God?", "Why me God?", and "Why now God?". I realized that these questions do nothing, but take away your trust in God. The bigger question we need to ask is "How God?", "How God do you want to use me in this time of uncertainty?". These questions allow us to put our trust in Him. Stop worrying about the unknown and worry about the KNOWN! The known is that God is faithful and we can trust him!

We have had to cancel events, stop some ministries, but most recently we had to send the students home. All of this shook our world, we never saw this coming. I wanted to share how this affected our staff, our students, but most importantly myself. We live in a crazy time, but I have good news! God is faithful and you can trust Him!

As I said in the last episode, I wanted to share with you all my goals and even worries that I have in starting a new ministry! This might be unusual to some, but for me I want to be honest with you all and to hopefully encourage people to go into ministry in their local area. In today's episode, I decided to talk about the things that I will miss while being in Hungary and the things that I am looking forward to while in Hungary! As you can tell, I like my American culture, but I do truly enjoy other cultures and especially the Hungarian culture. Even though I will miss America, I am glad that I am going to be able to try new foods and visit new places. I can't wait for next episode as I will discuss what life is like in Hungary! God Bless!
In today's episode, I continue my discussion on moving to Hungary. Today, I talk about the things I am nervous about or anxious about. Moving to another country and being away from home brings a lot of emotions to my mind. I hope that this episode helps you see that even though I am excited to serve God. I am still going to be scared at times or nervous, but I realize it is all for God's glory. His plan is bigger than Ben Bowden's plan. May God continue to bless my ministry as I focus on him!

In today's episode, I decided to discuss a few things leading up to leaving for Hungary here in a few short days! This episode will be split up into two parts. This episode covers what exactly I will be doing as well as discussing some things that I am looking forward to happen to me over this next year. As the title suggests, this is not a new journey, but a part of the journey. Consider this a new path on the way to finishing what God has called us to complete. That is "Sharing the Gospel". In today's episode, I decided to talk about something that I have been thinking about recently. I have been thinking a lot about my time as a freshman at Cedarville University and realized there were some things I wish I knew then that I know now! So, I decided to take this episode to go through my top 5 things I wish I knew. There are definitely more, but I tried to wrap them up in 5. I hope, that at what ever part of life you are at or especially if you are a freshman in college that you can gain something from this. I pray that you do not make the same mistakes I did as a young man. I am in no way perfect, but God has been good to me and has taught me some things. Enjoy!
In today's episode, I talk about the things I learned this past weekend. Sometimes, I become very selfish and God has to remind me who is in control and who is helping through a situation. Have you ever been in a place where you are being selfish and trying to take control? Let me tell you, it is a place I find myself too often. I pray that this episode will convict you if you need it or reassure you if you are doing the right thing. God is truly awesome! I am blessed!
In today's episode, I talk about something that I normally don't talk about that much. That "something" is politics. Now, I am not going into detail about my stances, but what I am talking about is my frustration with the "politic" culture in this country. We are a VERY divided country and it is sad. We founded this country on the idea that all are welcomed and that it is about the people. I feel as if we have fallen away from that. I hope that this episode shows how I feel we need to be kind and show God's love to those who differ in beliefs. I pray that our country becomes less divided and more accepting. Enjoy!
In today's episode, I have two very special guests! Ryan and Stephen are two of my coworkers at Emmanuel Christian where I am currently a long term sub. I have gotten to know these two over the last few months. Starting all the way back in August, when I started my student teaching there. And let me tell you that from the moment I met them, I know that they were going to be two guys that I wanted to know and hangout with. They both also have two incredible stories. Ryan shares about his journey in teaching and in the missions world with the start of Unafaa. Stephen talks about his journey and how God sometimes puts us in the right place at the right time. God is using both of these men to touch hundreds of kids every year and for Ryan hundreds of orphans in Kenya every year. It was a blessing to be able to have this conversation with them. And I guess, a little fun too! By far the most fun I have had on an episode! I guess I will have to change my outro! What do you all think?

In today's episode, I talk about something that I normally do not talk about. In all reality, I haven't talk about it that much in my life. That thing is bullying and the affect that it had on me both mentally and emotionally. Bullying is a real thing and it is not something that I take lightly. So, in this episode I talk about my story, four points to get through it and what I believe we should be doing instead of listening to the world! Remember that God loves you!
