All things outside, from hunting, hiking, camping, climbing, fishing, to gardening, farming, foraging, homesteading, and generally just enjoying being outside. But the "spine" of this show is and will always be traditional archery, specifically my process of learning how to both shoot and make traditional bows.

We have a lot of fun stuff to talk about in this episode. First segment of duck was a huge success for us and it only took us 3 years of hunting our woody hole to finally get it figured out.
Warning: we talk about a lot of stupid stuff we’ve done in hunting woods in this episode and while I’m on record as being a big fan of type 2 fun, we do not condone attempted recreation of any of the dumb stuff we’ve done hahaha.
We did the scouting thing, crossed a flooded river, put over 6 miles on the boots, got completely soaked, earned a few blisters, crossed back across that flooded river, and drove home to quickly lose what little remained of our energy. Then we tried to record an episode…this one’s a bit shorter than what we normally pull off but the hard earned scouting was well worth it.
We got a chance to bring our buddies Jesse and Matt on the show after a really fun afternoon of dove hunting and hear their first deer stories and generally shoot the a breeze.
So we already done did the dove hunting thing…but as I mentioned in the show I’ve been very busy at work, and they are not happy about all the days off on the schedule on October and November so I apologize for the late release, but we also get into some of our favorite go-to recipes in case you need to empty out the freezer before season so it’s still a good listen.

This one had some thorough tangents but is good for a few laughs for sure. We talk about a few bucks we’ve turned up during summer scouting and how we’re hoping to pattern them without using trail cams. We also discuss some potentially disturbing culinary decisions in Ryan’s past involving the wobbliest of bits.

We brought our buddy Eric on for a fun BS session. Talk fishing, bust each others chops, and even sneak a few hunting stories in there too.
Virginia released the regs for the upcoming hunting season not too long ago so naturally we’ve started putting together dates for hunts we hope to go on this year. Listen along as we go over some of our plans for the first couple months of Virginia’s hunting seasons and for an impromptu homage to some old school Jeff Foxworthy.
Bit of history about us and how we got into hunting. We both grew up enjoying the outdoors in VA and once we met, we never looked back.

As close to a starting point as we're going to get with my foray into stick bows. I've been dabbling for years but the dedicated switch to traditional archery is still pretty fresh so figured it was now or never to establish a baseline for where I'm starting from. There's a little heartbreak in this one but several lessons learned to go a long with it.
Mostly a housekeeping episode to get the RSS feed updated but there may also be some worth listening content here too, that is if you like a random guy rambling about things outside.
