Superstudio Podcast #03 - PETER ZELLNER

Peter Zellner is an architect, painter and educator based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Manhattan, New York in 1969 and has worked and lived in Australia, Europe, and Asia. Son of immigrants: Yolanda Román Zellner, a Nicaraguan soprano who trained at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in México and sang with the New York City Opera, and Peter Paul Zellner, a Romanian born painter and designer who worked with Ray and Charles Eames and later at the Metropolitan Museum and LACMA.
Peter Zellner has designed notable public and private art galleries such as the Matthew Marks, Night and Vielmetter galleries in Los Angeles and the Maccarone, Wallspace, Zach Feuer and Harris Lieberman Galleries in Manhattan. The Los Angeles Times named him one of its Faces to Watch in Dance, Theater, Architecture and Art and Art+Auction Magazine included him in its “Power” Selection of designers and architects.
He has also curated exhibitions such as Sign as Surface at Artists Space, New York, Empire. Style at ART2102 in Boyle Heights and The Trans-Aestheticization of Daily Life at the Sweeney Gallery, a public art space he designed for the University of California, Riverside. In 2016 he founded the Free School of Architecture, a participant-led six-week event committed to the free exploration and exchange of ideas in and around architecture, freed from traditional pedagogical and professional frameworks.

Superstudio Podcast #02 - MIKE NESBIT

Mike Nesbit is an LA-based fine artist who likes to produce work through community engagement within and outside California. Nesbit’s ability to engage local museums, institutions, design organizations, and media outlets allows his ambitious artworks to become collaborative realities, transforming his art into objects that contain a sense of shared pride and ownership with the communities involved in their manufacturing and maintenance. With a background in architecture, his multidisciplinary skill-set greatly informs his artwork, allowing Nesbit to bridge the worlds of art and architecture with a focus on technique, repetition, and space. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles. Previous, to Art and Architecture Nesbit, played professional baseball with the Seattle Mariners.

Superstudio Podcast #01 - MILLIØNS
MILLIØNS is a Los Angeles-based experimental design practice, founded by John May and Zeina Koreitem. MILLIØNS conceives of architecture as a speculative medium for exploring the central categories of contemporary life: technology, politics, energy, media, and information. Their approach insists on an expansive parallel project of technical, historical and cultural analysis, which surrounds and informs their work.
MILLIØNS’ work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including a commissioned furniture set by Friedman Benda Gallery NYC and Chamber, shows at La Triennale Di Milano, Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, The Architecture + Design Museum of Los Angeles, Jai & Jai Gallery in Los Angeles, the Museum of The City of New York, the MIT Keller Architecture Gallery, and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, among others.
MILLIØNS’ work includes completed and ongoing projects in California, New York, Boston, Germany and Beirut. The practice was recently selected as the winner of a two-stage, international competition to reimagine the east wing of I.M. Pei’s Everson Museum, in Syracuse, NY.
