This podcast is created for those that have recently began working in a restaurant to prepare them for the weirdest, most funny restaurant stories that are told from the Restaurant Veterans themselves. Both Rookies and Vets are sure to enjoy listening and relating to our industry family!
I wish that this was an awesome celebration but staying positive is hard. I appreciate anyone who has supported me these 4 years and still listens.
I finally have a guest! I was traumatized by the loss of the last episode that I had a guest on in November that was never recovered but now I am back in business!
My schedule will be changing and I’m hoping it’s for the best but we shall see where life takes me.
No matter what, losing someone you work with is never easy. Sorry to post a sad one but I felt it was necessary.
I had a table catch me completely off guard on Saturday by doing a very sweet gesture for another table.
Why California why? Another dumb alcohol rule. Also I have no shifts. And it’s Veterans Day! Yay!
I apologize for this being so unorganized but I have thoughts from work reunions to only fans to baseball butts. Enjoy!
Don’t smile or sound excited about getting discounts and showing how bad you’re going to tip. I hate you.
You can get your meal replaced without the dramatics and pay full price and stop being cheap! Have a safe Labor Day weekend!
I wish this was about nelly’s 2000s hit but unfortunately it’s about the ac being broken.
I actually did offend one guest, however, I did nothing to the second. Sorry if I’m still frustrated about this situation but I have to pay my rent!
Not the car just a strange guest that I had Saturday night that apparently everyone knows except me.
69!!! Woohoo! I didn’t even notice it was 69 til it was done! Lol! Anyways hear about graduation season during the nba finals.
None of us get jobs for fun, especially in customer service, so be nice to your coworkers. No one’s there by choice.
Episode 66...He says I talk about restaurants too much, but is it possible that that actually became a benefit?
If you’re a manager please appreciate your employees. At the very least just say thank you every once in a while.
I cannot separate my restaurant thoughts out from my everyday life so I am constantly basing what someone may tip off of their everyday behavior. Hope I’m not the only one!
I just don’t understand how people can lack so much common sense. If there’s no one in a section, don’t ask to sit there. And more importantly, you don’t need a booth! Sit in a chair, it will be okay. I promise.
I know I don’t have the authority to be talking about etiquette but I’m still going to tell you what not to do.
If I ever leave the restaurant, here’s what I would say. Also have a wonderful Christmas and New Years if I fail to upload in the coming weeks!
Hear about the weirdest, the worst, and the best customers I have ever had…and it just occurred within the last 24 hours.
We are not stand up comedians at all and tend to make only ourselves laugh but check out what we find as humorous. This humor is likely for adult's ears only.
This episode is kind of morbid so don’t listen if shootings are a trigger. I apologize I just want recognition for being a hero.
Common courtesy if you didn’t get my pun. Just don’t be more invested in your phone then your real life company.
Happy hour tends to bring in a not so fun crowd. Listen to everything that you shouldn’t do. Also this episode took 26 hours to upload…why universe? Why?
It’s not about the pasta (vanderpump reference)! But I’m finally feeling like me again so hopefully I made you laugh despite my congestion.
I know that this term is inappropriate, but hear why before you judge. Posted on day 36 of my "127 Hours".
You know the idiots that ask idiotic questions? If not, then you are that idiot. Listen to what I wish I could have said. Please leave comments of any responses you wish you could have said, and I will read them on an upcoming episode.
I fully believe in spirits and another realm but if you do not, then this is not the episode for you. I apologize if the sound is not the best but the phone was by me. I also sound like I am about to cry the entire time because I was. Take it or leave it but do not judge please. When Tomas died, I felt like I wasn't allowed to be sad because he had a lot of people that were way closer to him then I ever was, but it feels really good to know my feelings are validated and that someone truly accepted me for me. All of me.
I never listen to my episodes but I listened to episode 42 and had many negative feelings. I also had a phenomenal episode a few weeks ago (the original episode 41) but was asked to remove it because it was very misinterperated by someone I care about and they thought it was about them. But, it explained so many vulnerable things about me and I hate that it is gone, so here is a little snippet of me.
We close at 10...Not sure how hard that is to understand. Plus, the genius idea I have been promoting since 2012.
Yes I know, I'm dumb and I got emotional and never said the Celine Dion quote but here it is..."Life imposes things on you that you can't control, but you still have the choice of how you're going to live through this."

I never realized how much I need awful humans to judge for entertainment. My ADHD gets the better of me and I need laughter. Hopefully you can use my tips to make you and your coworkers laugh as well.
I have a wonderful guest for my one year anniversary! Cynthia aka bean, the magical fruit. I apologize because I get progressively more annoying throughout the episode but hang in there for her. Thanks for sticking by me 365 days.
I truly am grateful for any of you that have listened during this entire tough journey that we all like to call 2020. Have a happy holidays and a great new year!!!!
I can't guarantee that I will be producing episodes once a week but I will try. Also, I hope that I created a Lewis Capaldi image that will stick in your head every time you hear his music.
Not sure why but I am at my wit's end with old people. Stop being entitled! Is that truly how you want your legacy to be? Just realize that restaurants have been running a specific way even before your time Barb...
I had Arianna on just to play some games that I had created previously to get a different perspective on the answers, since she's from Italy.
Tipist: judging a book by the cover of your table based on what you assume they will tip you. Not racist, just tipist.
I was recently notified that I need to truly work on myself and it has changed my perspective on a lot of things. Hopefully I can make you smile and laugh with my reasoning for appreciating the restaurant.
Yes, this is based off of the "5 Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. I start by explaining what that book is about and give stats that he does, and how my love language relates to who I am as a person. So, if you do not care about that, skip to about halfway through. Hope these server descriptions made you laugh!
Do not walk into a restaurant with a party larger then 6 and especially not within the last 2 hours that the restaurant is open. Andddddd....ALWAYS tip HUGE if you forced a poor server to deal with you.
Guests can never verbally explain what they want and it is the worst! Also, I apologize if there's a lot of yelling on this one.
I apologize that I have been slacking on podcasting but I have been working on a really cool project for the restaurant and I am finally done! This episode is just me explaining the project, so if you do not care, then skip this one.
I have the 2 best food runners and take out that we have at our location on the show so take advice.
This is mostly based on research that I found online and nothing is proven to be 100% true, but it is very interesting to me.
Please do not yell at the servers for following protocol and trying to protect you by encouraging QR code use and for kicking you out at 1045pm when we close, by law, at 10pm!
This is a more serious episode that I explain the BS that has become my life. I will hopefully be back to laughing with you next week. I apologize if this is not what you had been looking for from me, but I felt I needed to explain.
I apologize because this is more or less me yelling at a guest that I had this week for being so cheap. Plus, just respond to people's texts, it is not that hard.
Listen to where I have been and what is now different in the restaurant workplace in comparison to prior to quarantine.
Hear about how stressful server dreams are and how weird my dreams about other servers are.
Hear the celebrities that German was lucky enough to see in restaurants he has worked at. Plus, my lack of intelligence in pop culture.
I have another guest on who is currently dating someone that we also worked with at the restaurant, because we apparently cannot meet anyone elsewhere. I apologize for our loudness and how we are kind of all over the place, but it's who we are.
During this apocalypse I figured we all need some laughter. Hopefully I painted these stories well enough to make you laugh as well!
Both us 2 who are on the podcast are weirdos and the people we discuss as well. Plus, the first 8ish minutes are more serious in regards to myself, so if you hate seriousness, skip ahead to minute 8!
Remember those places that you used to go into and sit and a human would greet you and ask you what you wanted to eat? No? Me Either.
Listen to us discuss the good and bad about our regulars. Also, the weird regular thoughts that go on inside of my head.
Hear me try to convince an ex rookie that he misses me and the restaurant industry. Plus, as always, a million pointless tangents.
If you hate my voice, run away. Find out about crazy and amazing things that the restaurant industry has taught me on this solo episode.
Find out the difference between serving in the east coast and serving in the west coast. Plus, a whole lot of tangents!
Listen to us clumsies tell you the funniest things that we have accidentally said to customers and times we have slipped and fallen at work! Also, all of many tangents that we go on.
Interested in dating someone that you work with? Take or leave our advice on this matter. And compare the restaurant to high school with us!
Ever wonder about the numbers that servers receive or the awful yelp reviews that are left for us? Listen here to find out how we are effected by this and if either are a good idea.
P.S. I am aware and apologize for the amount of times that I say "FYI".
