The Electric Football Wishbook (available from Amazon) is a beautiful color collection of sports game Christmas catalog pages from 1955-88. It's highly recommended by by both Greg and Al.
The second half of the show has ther Jerks debating the Detroit Lions' playoff odds and the hot seat status of head coach Jim Caldwell, Detroit Tigers legends Alan Trammell's and Jack Morris' election into the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Modern Baseball Committee, the slary dump/trade of Ian Kinsler, Tigers GM Al Alila's free agency signings and the possibility of dealing Micheal Fulmer to jumpstart the rebuild.

Though Detroit Tigers’ GM Al Avila has shown no interest (so far) in dealing staff ace Michael Fulmer, MLB teams continue to inquire about obtaining the 24-year-old instead of Justin Verlander. For some reason, possibly stupidity, many in the Detroit media think trading Fulmer is a good idea.
A retired Calvin Johnson threw the Detroit Lions under the bus again, saying the team “wasn’t worth my time.” Johnson apparently forgot that he collected some very handsome paychecks from that same team while not speaking up about whatever issues he may have had.

The legacy of “Trader Jack.” Long-time Detroit Pistons’ GM Jack McCloskey, the architect of the 2-time NBA champion Bad Boys Pistons, passed away this week at the age of 91. Jack was a friend, generous enough with his time to appear on the show several times. He will be missed by all.
Pistons head coach/president Stan Van Gundy is reportedly looking to deal the 12th overall pick for a win-now veteran. But is that the right move for a team stuck in NBA purgatory?
Detroit Tigers’ GM Al Avila spoke to the media, saying exactly what you would expect a GM to say about a team only a few games out of first place in early June - not much.

Despite similar amounts of success from both the Red Wings and Pistons, fans and media are giving far more attention to the demise of The Joe, all but ignoring the far superior Palace.
The guys end a stuffed podcast by discussing the Pistons throwing in the towel on a disappointing season and former Lions linebacker Deandre Levy's claims he was misled by the team as to the severity of his knee injury.

Bill spent four seasons with the Red Wings in the 1970's, best remembered for scoring two goals in Detroit's first round series deciding 3-2 game three victory over the Atlanta Flames at Olympia Stadium in 1977. His series winning goal is still fondly remembered by many Red Wing fans, including a young Eno and Big Al. Bill went on to play for the Rockies and Rangers before finishing his career in Europe, where he became a coach and eventually, a player agent.
