Keep Unfrozen Show: Recent Episodes

Ladey Adey

The Keep Unfrozen Show talks about life from a Christian Perspective and through the filter of my eyes.

Unfrozen was my first book, written in a time of angst and yet God’s Light saw me through, even if he had to inspire me through Disney’s Frozen film!

God will do the same for you, talking to you where you are at.

Keep Unfrozen Ministry tackles disappointment, disillusionment and discouragement by stepping into God’s warming light.

Frozen people are hurt people and hurt people hurt others and turn away from God.

The Bible talks about ‘hard-heartedness’, I call it being Frozen. Keep Unfrozen is about changing this mindset, living and loving the potential that God created You to be.

Hi, My name is Ladey Adey from Keep Unfrozen Ministries and Pink Parties Press. It's good to be with you today, the sun is shining, but the news is not good. It's interesting, isn't it how the Coronavirus creates a different way for people, the way they respond, what they do, how they behave and observing their ways - and then observing how you (I) behave. Two topics today, Codewords and Coronavirus. There is a link, but we'll come to that later.

I got to thinking the other day about automation and the reason I was thinking about it was because we had problems with our car and we had to change it. But I'll come back to that in a minute. So can you imagine what it's like if God is on automation, if God is on autopilot as it were.

Denis - Ladey's husband joins her as they continue this discussion and they invite you to join them in the Lord's prayer but saying it with a different intention!

Have you ever gone searching for something and found so much more? It happened to me when I needed some more money. So what would happen if we applied this technique to God?

I even think the words “Gone Searching” could be one of those plaques you find to put on the door – like, ‘Gone Golfing’ or ‘’Search for me in the Garden’

Wouldn’t that be a conversation opening?

What are you Missing? Have you missed me? I’ve missed you with your comments and feedback on the blogs I have done. Am I back? I do hope so, this video or podcast gives you an insight on what has happened over the time I’ve been away.It explores my relationship with God and how I missed Him too when I was not doing regular blogs inspired by Him. The following verse made quite a lot of sense to me.She heeded no voice, She accepted no instruction She did not trust in the LORD, She did not draw near to her God.Zephaniah 3:2The Prophet was talking about the country and its people. Though each country is made up of individuals all making their own choices according to the free-will God has given them. I think I can apply this verse to the period of time I’ve just gone through. The following verses in Zephaniah are interesting though – with things going from bad to worse – but The Lord who did no wrong continues to bring His justice to light and never fails in His ways. What do you think?

Your Hindsight is God's Insight. What has God got in store for you?

Do you know God's plans for your life? I know it is something exciting and He uses everything for good.

Quick look back on some journeys I've had and a shared journey with my friend Linda Zupancic - our latest Author.

There’s an old Scottish saying, ‘If it’s for ye, it cannae go by ye.’ My dad was Scottish and my mother English, yet I can remember my mother quoting this a lot! For me, I think it is truer to read it as, ‘If God has it for ye, it cannae go by ye’ and the translation for us Sassenachs is ‘If God has it for you, it cannot go by you.’

Think about this for a moment, how many times have you been disappointed, disillusioned or discouraged about something that did not go your way?

God has a way of working in a different way in our lives. He has ambitions for us and pushes us to our individual limits, and provides ways for making great things happen.

You see our hindsight is God’s insight!

With Bible Verses and a Prayer for everyone - this podcast explores this phenomenon.

Lessons from the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - featuring the address from Bishop Michael Curry. It leads me to ask the questions.

  • Are you being true to yourself and
  • Are you letting God use you?

You remember many things about a wedding, but it is often not the preacher's address.

This Royal wedding was different and for me the one who stole the show was the Preacher, Bishop Michael Curry from the Episcopal Church, USA.

Why and how - listen the podcast.

Passion is the key and also staying True to Yourself. Could you do this in the presence of the Royal Family and the world's media?

Here is the link, mentioned in the podcast of Bishop Michael Curry's impassioned address.

Today, I’m talking about the learning curve and how important it is to enjoy each and every moment – no matter how frustrating they can be.

I don’t know about you, but I find that each time I start something new, I learned a little more until I get to a point when I think, “that's enough” and I’m happy to stay at that level and go no further.

Sometimes, I want to go all the way on the learning adventure and know as much as I can possibly learn about that subject. However, the learning curve is not always smooth. It goes in peaks and troughs and many times I want to give up.

Life is like this – a road of learning – each and every day. Life can be a puzzle and it feels that God wants us to learn the most unexpected things!

Learning is not just for Children!

Life has a way of teaching us all kinds of things!

Isn’t it great that God expects us to be the latter, regardless of our age? You see, God hasn't finished with us. As the Apostle Paul put it,

“He, God, has begun a good work in you and will continue to perfect it until Jesus Christ returns”.

  • What about your life’s journey and learning curves and bends?
  • Where are you going?
  • Why are your passions leading you in a certain direction?

leave a comment or let me know your learning curve - ladey@ladeyadey.com

The Greatest Showman—God and Barnum—Detecting Ribbons of Truth

Once more, I am using the Greatest Showman as my metophor and yes my tally of seeing this wonderful film at the cinema now totals 11 times! Each time I watch this movie or sing the songs, I learn something new and love it a little more. I’d go again tomorrow but it’s long run at the cinema has now concluded. I think special ones over the summer will continue especially outside viewings or sing-a-longs, so for me the appetite for further big screen viewings continue. Of course, the Blu Ray and DVD are just a few weeks away!

I am still talking to people about:

·     the impact this film has made;

·     how happy it leaves people feeling;

·     its messages; and

·     the wonderful songs and dance…  I could continue.

The point I do make though is … it is not the true story of TF Barnum and if anything it only has a ‘ribbon of truth’ through it. I wonder how many take the film as accurate and ‘real’ because it is based on a real life (albeit arger than life) figure.

We know that Worry does not help us - and yet sometimes we are dragged down the Worry Wormhole. Can we choose not to go there? What does God have to say about this?

How easy it is to travel down the worry wormhole? Something happens:

a good event happens in your life,  a great invitation is offered to you, a friend gives you a compliment.

You have a choice - to accept and enjoy. Often we do this but then in the next moment we also put on the brakes. It is as if we feel we don't deserve this good fortune or good feeling. The ‘what if's’ form in our minds ...

The eye has been called the window of the soul and much is perceived through them.  We gain information through our sight (physical and internal).

Living with your eyes wide open, can appear childlike – but didn’t God ask us to come to him with hearts and minds of a child? To be eager to learn and know more of him.  Do you still see God, Jesus and Holy Spirit in this way?

We need to be Watchful, over ourselves and our Data. It leads to questions like:

  • Who is really to blame for the Facebook fiasco?
  • Are You Facebook Protected?
  • Who is really responsible for Your Data Going AWOL?
  • How watchful do You and I need to be?
  • Where is God in all of this?

Do you, like me, find the timing of the Facebook data leaking news interesting? It has coincided with the timing of new data protection laws and regulations.

We are told that our data (within Facebook) is not as secure as we first believed. This affects over 2.13 billion active members as stories of misuse of the handling their data is revealed!

So have you asked your list, if they still want to hear from you?

You need to send an email to them by 25th May asking them this question. It is all about stay compliant with the new regulations, General Database Protection Regulations, known at EU GDPR or GDPR.

This is what I sent out as a Broadcast to my email list recently.

I believe that when we obey the Law of our Land - God will also bless us! He gives us MORE of His grace and abundance.

The Lord is planning so much for you and I, over the next 2 years (until I ask for your permission to continue communicating with you by email as required by GDPR) I wonder what we will be sharing? I just know that it’s going to be good.

I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in!

Easter Sunday is such a joyous day, it is enraptured by Sunshine, Easter Eggs and Holidays and yet it is so much more.

Before the joy came the pain, and it was the pain of betrayal, belittlement and burial. It might be that you have experienced some of this in your own life?

The Easter story is about Jesus who comes through all of this and does it so you and I can have eternal life.

Moaning, Mourning and Misconceptions were dispersed and distress turned into delight.

We continue to celebrate this amazing truth, that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead and is with each of us today (if we want and accept him).

Have a happy Easter – and no matter how dark your days become, remember evil can never win when you believe in Him.

As you think of the Easter Story, read it for yourself from Luke Chapter 23 and have a listen to these two wonderful songs.

Don Francisco – tells the story through his song, given from the perspective of the thief on the cross next to Jesus. Check out his song here called Too Small a Price.

The other song is from Kelly Mooney who adapted Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, with the words to reflect the Easter Hallelujah. Here, is her story of how God made this happen

The full Blog is available: Our FatherWe begin with Our Father as a good reminder that we share in this loving God. ‘Our’ gives the true relationship, an opening statement that you share this Father with Jesus. Already Jesus in his opening words connects with you and says you are my sister or brother, because we share the same spiritual Father.

To explore this subject deeper listen to the podcast I gave entitled “Who is Your Family” based on Matthew 12:50 on Mothering Sunday.

Father: He is there for us and will never forsake us. This is His promise and His oath, and He always keeps them. God the Father cannot be compared with our earthly or biological fathers. He is so much more and wants you to share in His Kingdom and Glory.

Who Art in HeavenThe place we associate with God – although He is omnipresent, for our human minds to understand, Heaven is regarded as His home address.

Hallowed by Thy NameFollowing the first commandment, to have no other Gods, and Jesus’ commandment.

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done, On Earth as it is in HeavenChristians know there is a better life, and a fervent prayer of asking for the second coming, for the return of Jesus to earth and God’s Kingdom to reign

Give us this day our Daily BreadJust as God did for the Israelites when He first liberated them and sent them Manna to eat, so it is that we ask Him to provide food and spiritual sustenance for us on a daily basis.

Forgive us our Trespasses (sins)We love it when we receive God’s mercy and grace and He forgives us when we do wrong, acknowledge it and are remorseful. There is a kicker to this line, with the conditional next verse.

As we forgive those who trespass against usIf we expect God to forgive us then we have to do the same for others. It is no good holding onto grudges and maintaining our right to be hurt by others, we have to forgive them. If we don’t, then the first part of asking God to forgive our mistakes, wrongdoing and willful actions cannot be forgiven either. So, by the measure of forgiveness you have in your heart for others, God will use that as His starting point!

Sobering thought eh?

It is the Father who will punish them and not us!

And lead us not into temptationMark understands this, stating that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!

But deliver us from Evil.Asking God for His protection is the best way to ask for help. He is the only one that evil will walk away from, the person who can rescue us and we need this protection desperately.

For thine (or yours) is the kingdom, the power and the gloryAcknowledging that it is HIM who has everything necessary for a good life, and it has nothing to do with us. It was King David who gives the best example of exalting God’s majesty, splendour and greatness.

Forever and everAs we love to say, God is the same, yesterday and today and forever.

AmenWe agree with everything that we have just prayed.

Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:1-4 record this prayer from Jesus.

MaximThey say, you can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family.

Who is my Mother and Brothers?

Jesus asked the question ‘Who is my Mother and Brothers?’ He was very clear about who is Father was - but the other relations?

As Jesus was speaking to the crowd his Mother, Mary and his Brothers appear at the door. His family were worried.

Jesus’ speaking to the crowd, healings etc had stirred up authorities and religious leaders and they had stated that they wanted to kill Jesus. What family wouldn't be concerned!

Matthew Chapter 12:50

And continues: “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Notice there is no time frame – it includes you and me, it follows then: - If you do the will of God, you are a brother, sister or mother of Jesus.

Jesus Chooses us to be His Family

Whatever your family consists of: your birth or adopted family. We are all unique, you have another family – a family you can choose to be part of - Your church family. And it has nothing to do with blood connection. It has everything to do with Jesus, Holy Spirit and God – this is THE connection.

As Jesus said, “For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven IS my brother and sister and mother.”

Your Church Family

This Mothering Sunday, as a Church, recognise your new family.

Sermon given by Ladey Adey at New Life Church, Sleaford on Mothering Sunday - 11 March 2018.

The news headlines were filled on February 21st 2018 with the death of the evangelist Billy Graham. He had lived a full 99 years and had changed thousands if not millions of lives – for the better and for God.

As part of his memorial arrangements, his body was taken to his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the coffin travelled, thousands of people lined the city streets and interstate freeways, not in mourning but in celebration of a man’s life. The crowds who came out in respect held up signs and bibles as the coffin passed. Check out his son, Franklin’s Facebook page for pictures.

Knowing about Billy Graham, albeit not directly, though other’s experiences, books, films and now into history is still incredible and I’m sure Billy Graham’s influence will continue.

In the meantime, who has been your ‘Billy Graham’?

Who was the forefather of your faith, the one who influenced you enough to:

· pick up a Bible;

· say, “I want to know more about God”, and:

· allow Holy Spirit to change your life?

I am sure you have an incredible story. Your ‘Billy Graham’ may not have influenced millions of people, but they did influence YOU and God will bless them. Contact me and let me know ladey@ladeyadey.com
