People today are lonely, period. However, no one is more lonely than a modern man. He doesn't have friendships, seek out therapy, or open up and share what he's feeling or enduring as naturally as a woman. This is partially why he's so lonely and definitely why he, and men like him, need men's groups and men's coaching now more than ever before, and that's what my newest initiative, Man UPrising is all about.
You don't need to find a religion, join an organization, or follow a guru to discover your light or find your way forward. All you need is a good, dead teacher and to become a spiritual mutt in the way you pursue the truth. So get out there and find her, seek it, become your own guru, and share your light with the world.
In this podcast, Drs D and B call one another out on talking about meaning but not always walking the path of meaning. When the tough stuff hits the fan, do we talk, or do we walk? Join us and explore how to find meaning in the highs, lows, and everything in between.

What if you don't "have" a soulmate but many soulmates? Each soul who comes into your life is your mate, here to teach you and offer you something, as you also do the same for them. In this podcast, Rebecca and Baruch explore the nature of soulmate love through the lens of the Enneagram, an ancient roadmap providing us with nine blueprints for discovering, being, and uniting in soulmate love.
Unconditional love is a farse, an illusion, and a scam we've been told and sold. Sure, it exists with your mommy but does not belong in the bedroom. It will be the death of your marriage and will certainly crush your intimacy. If you want to experience unconditional love, buy a doggie; otherwise, reclaim those conditions, and only then will you know soulmate love.
Do you want intimacy in your life? Not just amazing sex – that’s a piece - but real, authentic, undeniable intimacy where two people become one? An intimacy where you feel truly seen and heard? That deep connection words can’t express? Join Ariela and Baruch as they strip away the complicated costumes we hide behind that block us from this level of intimacy and uncover the beauty lying underneath.

Step Out From Behind The Camera And Be Present In Your Life
Do you find yourself behind your camera (phone), taking pictures of the people, places, and experiences in your life but never fully being in the picture yourself? Are you constantly planning, doing, and executing everything on your list but feel like you aren't present or experiencing your life? Then it would be best if you had fewer Chronos moments and more Kairos moments, and in this podcast, Baruch and Nancy Rose discuss what that is and how to get it back.
Do you do the void dance? Dancing with food, shopping, TV, sex, drugs, and scrolling through social media to avoid dealing with the void at the center of your life? Well, you're not alone, and in this podcast, Drs D & B talk about Viktor Frankl's way of stopping dancing and starting to discover meaning in the void of your life!
No, you can not change - ever, nor should you. However, you can transcend what you've done or are currently doing, the way you've shown up or failed to step into your life. You can transcend whatever you've done, wherever you've gone, or whomever you've become through the roadmap of the Enneagram, a pathway to help you transcend and return to the True You.
Are you like my clients who go to the mirror and say, "I want to change? I need to change. Will I ever change? I can't change?" All day, every day, I coach people who simply want to change. But here's the truth. You can't change. You won't change, and frankly, you must not change. Rather, you simply have to remember, return to, and reveal who you are, why you are here, and the True You.
In this podcast, B and guest Nancy Rose, founder of the Compass Rose Legacy Foundation, talk about the power of Soul Threads, those invisible lines that run through your past, present, and future, always connecting you back to your True Self, your purpose, your soul.

5D consciousness is all the rage in spiritual circles and communities, but what does it mean? It's not complicated, nor does it require you to light incense, wear Lulus, or study Astrology (though Ariela may disagree with B on these). Although there's no hard and fast rule to this, here's what we came up with and why. You can download the infographic for your quick reference and to follow along in this podcast: https://soulcentered.ck.page/58f602ea00
In this podcast, Ariela and B discuss, for the first time, why they left congregational life where they served as Rabbi and Rebbetzin (rabbis wife) and the lessons learned in boundary setting and taking responsibility for one's life.
Birth and death are the bookends of life, yet we welcome one and dread the other. Why is it that birth is celebrated, but death is taboo? Since the beginning of time, women have labored and birthed at home, attended by a midwife and their female friends and kin. This camaraderie of women, once universal, was a way to provide birth support and also to pass on knowledge about pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting.
Death and dying can be taboo topics that families tend to avoid. Then, when a loved one becomes ill, family members are emotionally unprepared on how to have delicate conversations about a person’s end-of-life desires. An end-of-life doula approaches these situations with empathy, helping families come together to have open conversations and ensure that nothing is left unsaid. This provides peace for the dying patient and a sense of closure for the grieving family, which aids in their healing process. The transition from this physical realm to the next realm is a sacred space. End-of-life doulas are a bridge to continue one’s soul journey.
In this podcast, Ariela has a conversation with Vanessa Johnston, End-of-Life Doula and Owner of Denver EOL Doula, and Co-Founder/ Second Vice-President, Membership of Colorado End-of-Life Collaborative. Her mission is to empower those who are dying to experience their final milestone with dignity and grace. She seeks to provide individualized and intersectional emotional, spiritual, and informational support for people with a terminal diagnosis and their loved ones. She is a compassionate companion and provides a witness in sacred service to honor the final chapter in others’ stories.
In this podcast, you will discover:
In this podcast, Ariela and B mix it up with Ariela coaching B like a client, helping him move through his fears, the spiritual issues, past-life roots, and generational traumas as the source of his fears. It's a great way to experience what it's like to work with Ariela!
No matter what you are going through or how overwhelming the world might seem, you are not alone. You have ancestors. You have roots to weather this storm. Tune in and learn about generational healing and triumph with Ariela and B.
In this podcast, Michael and B take on the overwhelming fear that is all around us today, particularly as experienced in the financial markets. However, you don't have to live in fear and it comes down to you, to your choice and choosing to take back your power from the fear.
In this podcast Ariela and B take you on a radically new understanding of sex, sexuality, eros, and love as a pathway to divinity and a new relationship with the Divine, God or whatever you want to call It - it's just important that you experience it and that's what we'll help you do!
The Meaning of Love: Love. It's the subject of songs, novels, and movies. It's at the center of our lives and a preoccupation of our existence. And yet, do we really know what it is or why we want it so badly? In this podcast, Dr. Dan and Rabbi B go beyond the typical, shallow Valentine's Day sentiments into the deeper meaning of love. Sign up for the Defiant Spirit Podcast and learn more at www.defiantspirit.org
How To Be A Modern Day Mystic (And Still Drive Carpool): Why does mysticism have to be so mysterious, mystifying, and frankly so mystical? It doesn't, and in this podcast, Ariela and B bring his conversation down from the heavens to be made practical, useable, and impactful in your day-to-day life.
In this vulnerable and brave podcast, B talks with client, friend, and professional, Scott Shafman, exploring vulnerability, courage, and walking a path with heart.
In this podcast, Michael and Rabbi B explore the truth about wealth and the ancient wisdom text, “who is happy, one who rejoices in what they have.” Financial wealth is important, but it’s not the only and deepest kind of wealth.
In this podcast, Baruch talks about the reality of fear, not whether we have it, but how we deal with it or don’t deal with it. This is why the Enneagram is so important, providing us a map to and through our fear as we learn to defy our fear and live a soul centered life. Sign up for B's Defiant Spirit Podcast or learn more about the Defiant Spirit at www.defiantspirit.org
In this podcast, Dr. Dan and Rabbi B talk about Logotherapy through the lens of the Enneagram and the Meyers-Briggs personality tests. You aren't your label, rather you are here to defy your label and these systems can help you do just that.
In this podcast we'll talk about how we get stuck in our lives, worshipping the labels and limits as they come to define us, trap us and keep us from living our true self, unlimited power, and ultimate potential. It's time to live our defiant power of spirit and it begins when we get unstuck.
Dr. Dan and Rabbi B 2022 Kickoff: In this podcast, we explore the year ahead and what we are working on in our own lives, personally and professionally as well as some of the topics we will be exploring like resilience, vulnerability, and spirituality.
Defy Your Nature Continuing on with the conversation of supernatural, B explores the nature of your nature and learning to stand guard against it. Battling addictions of all types, for example, comes down to confronting and rising above your nature. This is the defiant power of the human spirit and when you defy your nature you truly are super natural and a real life superhero.
No More Compartmentalization: Living A Life of Integrity
The people I work with all say the same thing. Somewhere in the middle of life they begin to wake up to the reality that they are living fragmented, compartmentalized lives. They are one way at work, another at home. They live their values in this situation but not that. They are different with friends than with colleagues than in the confines of their home. They are sick of it. They want to live one way, in every way and at all times - that way is truth, authenticity and integrity.
In this podcast, Ariela and Baruch return after a hiatus to share what they've been up to, what is in store for them and Soul Centered in 2022, and what they would like to offer you. They dive deep into the idea of time and how to become more present, more spiritual and more alive at this time and throughout this new year.
In our lives there is a question we need to answer if we are going to truly succeed. It always comes down to one question, one word, the most powerful word in our life and that word is “why?”. Why do you want what you want? Why do you do what you do? In the words of Friedrich Nietzsche, “He who has a why to live for can endure any how.” In this podcast we’ll share with you our why and why we believe the Money & Soul Podcast is so important for you this new year.
Loving your body is a spiritual journey. But for many women that have been through trauma, it is a rocky relationship that feels separated, disconnected, and discouraging. Healing the relationship with your body is an invitation to dive into the separation and finally, explore why you may have been living from the neck up most of your life, carrying around a body that may feel like unfeeling armor. There is no one way to address trauma as every person and circumstance is different. However, my next guest Healer and author Lisa Erickson shares the unique ways women's energy bodies function in relation to their life transits and trauma, and how women can work with their chakras for healing, empowerment, and awakening.
Lisa Erickson is an energy worker specializing in women's energetics, sexual trauma healing, chakra manifestation, and kundalini awakening. She is the author of Chakra Empowerment for Women and The Art and Science of Meditation both published by Llewellyn Worldwide. She aids individuals through major life transits and trauma healing, with a particular focus on women’s sexual trauma. Lisa is certified in mindfulness meditation instruction and trauma sensitivity and has trained in a variety of kundalini and energy healing modalities including with internationally acclaimed healer and author Cyndi Dale. She is a member of the The Breathe Network, a non-profit dedicated to supporting holistic healing and healers for sexual trauma survivors.

In our previous podcast we explored the power of why, and in this podcast we’ll take it to the next step, translating the motivation behind your why into clear goals, definite directions and the importance of getting resolute. In the language of our New Year, it’s about making New Year's resolutions to see our goals through. When it comes to both our financial and spiritual goals, we need to know our why, but just as important, we have to explore our how and in this conversation we’ll offer you strategies to realize your goals and fulfill your 2022 money and soul resolutions.
At age 25, Ben Ahrens, a semi-professional surfer, became bedridden for over 3 years with Chronic Neurological Lyme Disease. Up until that time, he’d dedicated himself to living and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle as a trainer and an athlete. But despite his best efforts and conventional medical treatment, Ben found himself truly stuck – unable to get better or make a full recovery. Then he came across neuroplasticity.
While attending an online class in neuroanatomy via UC Berkeley to better understand his own brain and condition, Ben was exposed to the extraordinary results that applied neuroscience or “neuroplasticity training” had demonstrated with chronic pain, physical rehab, and even immune related conditions. It was at this point that a lightbulb went off in Ben’s head where he realized the brain as the “chief orchestrator” of all mental, physical, and emotional processes. Rather than seeking out further doctors to address his mysterious symptoms, Ben set out to heal himself, and equipped himself with an entirely new approach.
In the years that followed, Ben sought out and consulted (and now works with) top neuroscientists and cutting edge doctors from all over the world. His eventual success with recovering his own health (Ben has remained 100% healed for over 10 years now) led him to form The Brain TrustTM which now serves as the cornerstone of re-origin. Together, they’ve developed a program and process capable of replicating these results at scale, for a wide range of debilitating conditions. Learn more about Ben's work here: https://re-origin.com/

In today’s podcast, I am talking with, not only a renowned psychic medium, but also my sister-in-law, Rebecca Rosen. Having these spiritual conversations are not new to us, as we have been having them for 23 years. In fact, in our 20’s we were known to have long interesting conversations about the book, Conversations with God, to help us uncover what our own soul agreements were in this lifetime and beyond.
Internationally acclaimed best-selling author, spiritual medium, and speaker, Rebecca Rosen has made it her mission to open the line of communication between the spirit world and our day-to-day world.
Her incredibly accurate and detailed readings have amazed and empowered clients and led Rebecca to national media appearances on The Dr. Oz Show, E! News Specials, Fox & Friends, Dr. Phil, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Nightline and The Rachel Ray Show, among others. In addition to her two books, Spirited, published in 2012, and Awaken the Spirit Within, published in fall 2013, Rebecca’s newest book, What the Dead Have Taught Me About Living Well was released in February 2017. In her newest book, Rebecca shares the daily practices and tools that she uses to connect with support from beyond, showing readers how they can learn to recognize the signs and harness divine guidance for their everyday lives. Rebecca was also on LMN’s (Lifetime Movie Network) show The Last Goodbye. Through the show, Rebecca connected people seeking answers from their deceased loved ones, and shed light on the truth that death is not the end and love never dies.
She recently started a podcast called, Small Medium at Large, which explores many facets of our connection with our “team spirit” on the other side. In these episodes, Rebecca interviews fascinating guests, shares messages from Spirit, and offers some of her own tools and resources to strengthen our intuition.
Rebecca resides in Denver with her husband and children and travels to share her gift and teach others how to receive wisdom and insight that can profoundly, and positively, impact their lives. If the greatest danger in life is to be reduced, reduced to a body, to our illness, to a number (as we explored in the last podcast) then the true liberation in life is to expand, expand our mind, our heart, our life and our spirit. This is the true meaning of God - to expand and when we live a life of expansion we live a life of divinity.
Sheena Nancy Sarles is a lifelong student of well-being, a certified Yoga teacher, and a world wide presenter of her created and curated Yoga for Living with Loss™. The losses of her parents, sister, and best friend led her to integrate her yoga practice with her grief. From grief workshops in writing and loss, it became apparent that while grief breaks our hearts, and clouds our thoughts, it also congests in our bodies. She deeply understands that grief is not healed, we learn to live with our grief. Sheena created Yoga for Living with Loss using the foundation of the chakras, energy centers that provide information about our bodies, to bring yoga to the bereaved. She continues to study with many teachers internationally to study the healing relationship of our bodies, minds, and spirits. She has been a teacher, a communications and fundraising professional, is the author of “Growing Younger Gracefully: Your Guide to Aging with Vitality, Resilience, and Pizzazz” and creator of GYG Organic Facial and Body Serums™. How did the Holocaust happen? It didn't happen all at once. it happened by reduction - reducing people's freedoms, reducing their identity, reducing them to numbers and ultimately to ashes . The same is what happens in our life when we face life's darkness and nothing is darker than when we are reduced to numbers. Whether it's your weight, age, salary, IQ... you are here to defy your numbers and you do this through the defiant power of your spirit.
As Brene Brown says, “Everyone has a story or a struggle that will break your heart. And, if we’re really paying attention, most people have a story that will bring us to our knees.”
Numb, restless, lethargic, empty, angry, exhausted, confused, dispirited, drained, depressed, hopeless, aimless, purposeless …
Shame, hiding behind our pain, fear, and mental illness.
These are only a tiny selection of the total possible feelings we carry when we disconnect from our Souls – that vital spark of life within us.
But how do we reach this point of total disconnection from life; this existential malaise?

Dr. Viktor Frankl, author of "Man's Search For Meaning," attributes part of his survival in the Holocaust to Nietzsche's famous reminder, "he who has a why can endure any how." In this podcast Rabbi B will explore the power of why, why he created the Defiant Spirit and why knowing your why will help you endure any and every how.
When we think of our relationship to spirit, we tend to think of it as a one way street. We communicate with them as a pathway to receive confirmation of their presence, give us direction in our life, and comfort us in their absence on our journey in this world. Although this is true, it isn’t entirely true. In fact, the relationship between the living and the dead is really a two way street. In this talk, Healing The Dead: A Spiritual Two Way Street, given at the Colorado End of Life Collaborative, Master Healer Ariela HaLevi and Rabbi Dr. Baruch HaLevi will share ancient mystical wisdom, principles and practices of how we heal our loved one's in spirit. You can learn more about the Colorado End of Life Collaborative at: https://coeolcollaborative.org/
"The Defiant Spirit" is Rabbi Dr. Baruch HaLevi's "Rabbi B's" new podcast synthesizing the foundational ideas of both logotherapy and the life and legacy of Dr. Viktor Frankl, with Kabbalah, the Jewish mystical blueprint of existence and roadmap for the soul. In this first podcast he will be exploring some of the foundational principles of Dr. Frankl's message of meaning, hope and inspiration and some fundamental, kabbalistic ideas. No matter what you are facing or enduring you have within you the defiant power of your spirit. It's time to awaken it, live it and illuminate a darkened world.
You are not alone. You did not get here by yourself. You are not here only for yourself. You are the embodiment of thousands of years of ancestors who walked before you, sacrificed for you, passing down to you their hopes and dreams, experiences and qualities, the good and bad, the broken and whole. They continue to have so much to offer you, and you have so much to offer them. The relationship continues so join us in this conversation about the basics of ancestral healing and how to draw upon your ancestors to bring you healing in chaos.

So often when we think of a spiritual journey, we assume it is something filled with divine grace and energetic flow and ease. At times it certainly will be, however, that is rarely the starting point.
Just look to nature and the process of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly to understand that transformation is not a simple and tidy process. That caterpillar is transformed through a painful and messy metamorphosis inside that chrysalis (cocoon), as it dies to what it was on its way to emerging what it was meant to be. This is how butterflies are born. This is how babies are born. This is how we are born on our spiritual journey in this life. Face the struggle, accept the messiness and embrace the process in its entirety on your spiritual journey through this life.

Vacations are crucial, but they aren’t about flying off to Hawaii or sipping Margaritas at Club Med. Vacations are about vacating the usual rhythms and routines, returning to your true self, getting back to your center and living your life more consciously and fully, long after summer vacation has ended, regardless of whether or not you have a calm ocean, warm day, or blue skies.
Across spiritual traditions, there are universal descriptions when it comes to the afterlife. One of them is the belief that we are escorted from this world to the next by familiar spirits. In this movie, those spirits are people whose lives impacted us, or whom we impacted. This inspirational movie reminds us to pay attention to those on our path. You just never know if this will be one of your five guides who will escort you to the world beyond!

It’s a journey to the thing that so fulfills you that, if someone told you, “It’s right outside–but watch out–it could kill you!” you’d run straight toward it, through the screen door without even opening it,” -Martha Beck.

People living with invisible illnesses have to sometimes convince others of their symptoms.
People who break their arm, throw out their back, or experience another form of injury may be in rough shape, but others can see their injury and understand their limitations.
But for the millions of people who are living with arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and other forms of pain that are "invisible illnesses," explaining what's wrong is another side effect of their condition. Not only do you have to put up with challenging, often painful, and sometimes debilitating conditions every day, but on top of that, you may have to face skepticism from people — friends, family, and co-workers, as well as strangers — who don't understand what's wrong with you.
The social isolation and challenges women face with chronic disease are not unique among people with fibromyalgia, endometriosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, or similar health issues. These conditions can be difficult to prove, and relationships are often drained and strained from living with a loved one with debilitating pain.
In addition, a woman living with chronic disease is often challenged by living inside of her body. Body image struggles, eating issues, chronic hatred towards a body that doesn’t feel well, and pain in general, causes a split between the body and spirit.
Averi Kaplowitch, a college student in Syracuse, knows this pain well. She has spent hours, days and years sitting in her room behind closed doors, crying and feeling defeated by debilitating pain, while her friends were out playing soccer, eating pizza and living normal teenage lives. Averi has lived with pain since the age of 13, improperly diagnosed, tested and retested, and finally diagnosed with endometriosis.
In this podcast, you will learn:

The lotus is considered divine and one of nature’s mystical creations, that represents the purity of the mind and soul. It defines the capacity of the soul to expand and embrace the beauty of life with a clear conscience. The lotus flower sheds its seeds and blooms at the same time. This magnificent flower emerges from the dirty and unclean bottom of a pond, but still remains untouched and unstained by the dirt and mud surrounding it in the pond. This unique quality of the flower is believed to represent pure spirit, rebirth, beauty, fertility, transcendence, and resurrection. The lotus bud is compared with a folded heart or soul, which has the ability to blossom or awaken to realize the divine truth. This symbolizes the journey from the darkness of ignorance to the light or spiritual illumination. The lotus journey can also be equated to sisterhood and supporting each other on our spiritual journeys, whether they are within our own bodies, or even out in the world.
My next guest, Christine Winebrenner Irick, knows the lotus journey, and has experienced the lotus transformation within her own soul as well as leading women in their own journeys around the globe. I am so excited to share with you Chrisitne’s unique journey and how she came to connect communities of women and scattered around the world.
In this podcast you will learn:
The beauty of taking a journey both inside and outside of yourself
Everyday tips and tools to journey in the comfort of your own home and space
How to trust in the inner voice that calls you to do brave things
Find your purpose even in difficult times
How to become the beautiful lotus flower that thrives in the muck and mud of life
How to pivot when life brings you to your knees and create different versions of your dreams

Everything within the universe is evolving and that includes human beings. We are here to evolve, to grow, and ultimately to graduate from this school we call life. Just like in school, those who do the work matriculate, moving on to “higher” education. However, those that just squeak by, or don’t do the work, or worst of all lie, cheat and fake their way through the system have to pay the price such as “afterlife detention” or return and repeat the educational process all over again.
Join Ariela and Baruch in this important and illuminating conversation about the Soul’s Curriculum, learn your lessons, ace your tests and graduate!

For many midlife women, it is a rocky relationship that feels separated, disconnected, and discouraging. Embodiment and owning our sexuality is an invitation to dive into the separation and finally to explore why you may have been living from the neck up most of your life, and carrying around a body that may feel like unfeeling armor. Traumas, wounds, and life transitions may also be causing you to feel like your body has a mind of its own and you have zero control.
As life changes, so will your body. This is an intense period of loss; loss of the body you once had, but also loss of the relationship to your body that now must change. Perhaps you are having an internal uprising, perhaps a vague sense of restlessness, or even a loud eruptive desire to break away, and an internal voice that demands, “There must be more than this body and this life!” Many women feel stressed, burnt out more often than not, chronic exhaustion, weight gain, and an inner voice that is desperately telling you that you and your body are not enough. Perhaps you are finding yourself at war not only with your body but with yourself.
My next guest Amanda Testa, wants you to stop feeling like an imposter in your own body, and your life, and she wants you to find that fire and ignite the flames inside of you so you can feel alive, embodied, tuned in and turned on.
In this podcast you will learn:
Ancient, yet realistic tools to invite pleasure into your life today
How to honor your voice and your body as you age
Tips to embody, using your chakras and exploring the lower chakras as a journey to healing and awakening
How to ignite the flames inside of you so you can feel alive
Amanda Testa, is a Sex, Love, and Relationship Expert + Trauma Resolution Guide who works with busy professional women and couples to feel incredible in their skin, tap into abundant energy, take sex from a "to do" to something they look forward to, and enjoy better connection and fulfillment in their relationships. She’s also a mama to a gorgeous 8 yo girl, wife to her sexy hubs, and the host of the Find Your Feminine Fire podcast.
Her methods bridge ancient tools combined with the latest in neuroscience and somatic healing to facilitate rapid and lasting transformation.

What is money?
Seriously, let’s stop and really think it through. It’s not simply green bills with dead presidents folded in your wallet. It’s more than just decimals on a ledger or pixels on your computer screen. It’s energy, a means to something more and we need to remember what this means, that it is a means and ultimately that money is always a means to an end. Join Baruch HaLevi as he interviews financial expert Michael Finer, CEO of Finer Wealth Management, in this important conversation about the meaning of money.

Thanks for joining us for our ongoing series, Soul Cinema, a joint program with Rebecca Rosen and Soul Centered, showcasing popular movies, centered around particular soul themes.
This week’s featured film is, “Defending Your Life” According to many mystical traditions, each of us has a soul and our soul contracted to incarnate into our particular life with all of its nuances and details. The work of our life is to complete our unique curriculum, and at the end of our life, to “pass” our life review in front of the tribunal of elders on high. This life review is the determining factor whether we matriculate to the “next grade,” or return to repeat the school of life. In the end, as Defending Your Life so beautifully illustrates, it’s not about judgment; it’s about growth through facing and overcoming our fears.

When we are trying to control life, we are removed from presence, and act in ways that separate us from others and solidify the old negative beliefs we often carry about being not good enough. From this doubt, we may seek power, we may try to control life, and run from hard things inside of us that hurt. We may feel we live on the hamster wheel, constantly running, never truly connected to ourselves and to the world.
But what if we were a heart that is ready for anything? What if we reconnected to our true nature, our inner wild, wisdom, and universal glow of love and creativity? This could be called empowered spirituality to live a life where we feel inner empowerment to be free to respond to life with a heart that is ready for anything. Today’s guest Deb Matlock is here to talk to us about our inner wildness and how that relates to an empowered spirituality and connection to all of life.
When I met Deb, it was an instant knowing that she was a woman of quiet strength and a heart that is ready for anything. Deb embodies empowered spirituality and it was an honor to explore our inner nature together.
In this podcast you will learn:
How we can discover our own inner rhythms and allow that rhythm to lead us to our soul purpose
Unique tips for connecting with your inner nature on a daily basis to get quiet in a chaotic world
How the power of animals and nature can rewild our spirits to living a life of purpose and open-heartedness
How a connection to Spirit and empowered spirituality enables us to live our lives in service

Have you ever felt like: “I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” or “I’ve tried so many ways to make it better, yet I still don’t feel successful in a single area of my life,” or “I’m working myself to the point of exhaustion and still messing things up”?
Hundreds of bright, creative, invested, high-functioning women, don’t merely feel overwhelmed by their lives. They feel oppressed by them. They’re being asked to climb mountains alone with huge suitcases tied to their backs and can’t understand why they feel so exhausted. They are supposed to work and take care of the family and household without a village. They are supposed to do life without breaks and often don’t feel worthy of nourishment or rest. I say the word oppressed, and you may think, I am not oppressed. I am a free person. But when you woke up this morning, did you really feel free? Did you know that oppression is defined as “the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.”
Anxiety? Heavy burdens? This describes the experiences of most women I know. (The fact that so many women experience high levels of anxiety, loneliness, overwhelm, and stress on a daily basis is not simply par for the course when we sign up for this journey. It’s a red flag of collective distress. It’s evidence that something’s wrong with the circumstances within which we are living.)

Your loved one died? Oh, let me give you some advice… You should be crying more. You should not be crying so much. You should not be back at work. You should get on with your life. You should not still be feeling this sad. You should, should, should…. When it comes to grief we are bombarded with conflicting messages, everyone’s opinion, and frankly a whole lot of should. However, in the words of Nietzsche — 'You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.’

There are times in life when we run - from our pain, the reality of life, our relationships, the gaps inside of our bodies and spirits. Some of us run because we have old traumas that continue to arise. Some of us run because we were never taught to feel our scary emotions, so we run because life feels overwhelming.
When we run, we often use substances and things outside of ourselves to numb, push down and hide our pain. These substances can be as benign as watching too much Netflix, or as dangerous as overeating, drinking, and using drugs. Anything outside ourselves can be used as a way to avoid the darkness inside. I call this dancing around the void. We become Void Dancers because it is too scary to face what is lurking in our shadows.
Ariela joins Nancy McKay as she tells her story. Nancy is sober and a survivor of cancer and she has hit rock bottom and faced herself and the gaping holes inside. Nancy now teaches other women how to survive and thrive from addictions and unhealthy behaviors.
Tired, anxious, stressed, and burnt out? These are just a few words to describe the overwhelm that women are feeling today. The burnout is real and is amplified in the pandemic. Because most of us are stressed by our life circumstances and the current state of the world, it’s more difficult and takes more energy to access the emotional regulation, the much-needed self-care, and soul centering we need in order to create a life we don’t need to escape from. Nature excursions are just some of the small ways we can keep ourselves afloat and find our center.
In this podcast, Ariela talks to Jamie Blackburn, of the Inner Map Project, to explore what it means to connect with nature to find your passion, love, and reclaim energy.

The Afternoon of Life (midlife and beyond) is often only viewed in our society as a time of loss: loss of loved ones, identity, abilities, relationships… yes, so much loss. However, when you learn to OM Your Power, you discover deeper meaning, greater purpose and true healing in ways you never could in the Morning of Life. It’s time to not just focus on the loss, but more importantly to discover what’s waiting to be found!
Authentic Power
The Morning of Life (first half of life) is a pursuit of power: degrees, titles, money, possessions, partners, strength, beauty, and outward conquests of all types. The problem is that none of these things are really ours to possess, and in the end, none of them never last. Authentic power isn’t defined by anything out in the world, bound to a particular time or dependent on our circumstances. Rather, it is found within us, and once we discover it, it grows stronger with each passing day, and is with us to end of our life. This is the opportunity provided to each of us in the Afternoon of Life. This is authentic power.
In this podcast Ariela and Baruch explore the unique opportunities of the holiday season this year as we take back its true spirit, meaning and joy. It begins when we stop seeing it through the lens of presents and take back the gift of presence. Elections are upon us and tensions are running high. Now more than ever it's important to remember to not only cast your vote but to also remain in relationships with those who don't vote like you.
In this podcast, we'll explore what's underneath all of this tension, the struggles and suffering so many are experiencing around this political turmoil (as well as COVID, wildfires and so much more), and how to create healthy, respectful, and loving boundaries.
Life will continue after November 4th, but will your relationship with that person who votes for the other candidate?
During times of challenge, struggle, and even suffering, summed up in one brilliant Yiddish word, "oy," it's imperative we have pay attention to the blessings, see what is beautiful, laugh, live and love. Humor, laughter and joy are one of our primary pathways to illuminate the darkness. It's time to defy the Oy through embracing the Joy! Read the Oy to Joy
A relentless pandemic, political turmoil, raging wildfires, torrential hurricanes, social upheaval, economic volatility... During these chaotic times it is far too easy to lose ourselves, our feeling of control and our sense of personal power. Now, more than ever before, we need new goals, rules and tools for learning to survive, and thrive, through these turbulent times. Join Ariela and Baruch for a Soul Centered discussion on what it means to OM Your Power amidst the chaos of life.
If you are going to live a life that matters, you are going to have to put yourself out there, and int he process you will meet with defeat. Defeat, however, is a gift. Literally, it comes from the French word meaning, “undoing,” and it will help you undo your old ways, limiting patterns and whatever is keeping you small. Greatness and success aren't about avoiding defeat, rather, they come through growing from adversity. When defeat is our undoing, only then can we reimagine ourselves, rebuilt our lives and return to our true self. That is how we are undefeated through defeats.

The Afternoon of Life presents us with many opportunities in discovering our true self, none more so than life's shatterings, shadows and darkness. In the words of Dr. Carl Jung, "One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious." When the darkness descends, if we are willing to face it, enter it and persevere through it, we will not only uncover our truth, we will discover the divine in ways we never could in the light, and never would in the Morning of Life. As we transition into the Afternoon of Life, the Universe whispers to us, in a myriad of ways, to wake up, grow up, and stand up in our lives and become the men/women we were meant to become. However, whether or not we choose to respond, eventually She brings to us unmistakable, unavoidable, Shatterings. When we learn to face the Shatterings we can transform them through discovering meaning and purpose within them, ultimately growing from them which is how we transform the Afternoon of Life and our life.
The Morning of Life (prior to 40) is defined by a sense of forgetting - forgetting who you are in the chaos and complexities of all that the Morning of Life entails. However, the Universe always comes whispering, and when She does, She brings with Her the opportunity to remember our authentic self, listen to our soul and move forward into the Afternoon of Life differently than we did in the Morning.
In this Soul Centered Conversation, Ariela and Rabbi B explore the Morning of Life (prior to midlife) goals and rules. If you want to discover purpose, healing & inspiration in the Afternoon of Life, first you have to know where you’ve come from before you can know where you are going. In the words of Carl Jung, "for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.”
Ariela & Rabbi B talk about what it means to "OM Your Power." In this podcast you will explore a powerful set of tools to use in discovering true freedom, purpose and joy. These six tools are especially important during chaotic & turbulent times (outer and inner chaos). It begins when you OM Your Power!
In this episode Rabbi B interviews a friend and client, Barb Hirsch-Giller, discussing Barb's pro-active and transformative journey into the Afternoon of life. Barb shares her renewed sense of purpose as she turns 70, moves into reinspirement (aka "retirement") and shares her passion for what is becoming the most important and inspiring phase of her life - the Afternoon of life.
In this podcast Rabbi B explores the need for tools in our life and one of the foundational sets of tools he has used in navigating his own, personal darkness when it descends, particularly after the suicides of his grandmother and father. Name It, Face It, Replace It is a transformative practice and process that has helped hundreds of people whom he has guided throughout the years. It will help you to no matter what type of darkness you are experiencing within your life.
