In the northern hemisphere, every July and August, little birds take flight. How would you describe that moment?
Here they are, ready for what is both unimaginable and inevitable.
As both scientists and performers know, there is a moment where things have suddenly gotten out of hand, and by this I mean, they have come alive. Unpredictability is the gift of everything that grows.
Something new is born in us, and we can’t hang on and let go with both hands, and what we do now, trapeze style, we do completely, with both hands.
It’s a passionate moon, and even a healing one. That said, we are not free, we are caught, pinned even. Commitment, certainty, a change and a choice that looks ahead…
The story our mind makes when something opens to us, a vista, or a vision, a memory. We remember.
And as we do, we dream ahead into what is possible with what we go back now to collect… some series of experiences that attempt to tie our experience of reality to our understanding of it.
A vision quest, or a Rorschach test, it’s a pitch perfect bell that shows you none of these surrounding sounds are simple.
Our New Moon at 21 Taurus only asks us to begin, deliberately, definitively, with a light heart and a quick wit. With the embrace of pleasure for its own sake, and perhaps a bold move because now, you find, it really is time.
The Full Moon is a big reveal... The organic shape that love makes is not without complications. What is seduction after all, but the lure of the hidden, the promise of the partially revealed.
Being provoked and using that provocation to tell you something about your hotspots, rather than letting yourself be drawn into situations that you know are not what you want. Respond, don’t react. Give yourself time to breathe and sit, with whatever is happening for you...
The Sun, Chiron, and Venus are together: only authenticity, only originality, and they manage a sextile to both Saturn and our Mars/North node. A kite takes shape. What happens moves the plot. Let’s not begrudge the second act of our play it’s defining characteristics.
It’s an umbrella. Or something like one. A little bit of a magic shelter. A kiss with a flavor of destiny.
We are given the go ahead here. Venus is newly in Pisces, and although we are working with major change energy, there is gentleness to it.
It’s not even that the desperation is gone, it’s simply that it’s unworthy of our full attention. We are cultivating more powerful problems.

The sky of the Full Moon in Taurus is so stark as to look plainly and simply mechanical. A metronome that only tics one way, a wind up clock that takes us into a time we seem to be avoiding.
What we start now is in relationship to what has already been.
What we start now, we start compelled by fear and opportunity in equal measure.
What we start now, has love at it’s worried little heart.
We would like to be doing the right thing.
That’s how it starts, with the hope that things can change. It takes a lot of individuals to rewire human consciousness, to release limitations around what is and is not possible.
We don’t know what magic will come out of this moment or the next. We don’t know in what ways our small generosity, our kindness, our fair and gentle touch is rescuing each other and even ourselves.
It could be an emotional story, but if it is one, and if an ending is required, you’ll be able to make it happen alright. You can walk away from the car crash, call whoever is important on your cell, and make a new plan for a new day.
On the evening of August 18 a pretty New Moon in Leo arrives. It’s a bright beginning. The LEO Sun and the LEO Moon conjunct Leo Mercury at 26 and 28 degrees and there they trine Aries Mars at 24.
For the Full Moon on August 3rd, accident mixes with anger and intent... Cancer Mercury does have a sense of humor, also, she holds a grudge. It’s CREATIVE but maybe in the worst kind of grammar school teacher speak. As in, there’s a lot of other things it is too, and we don’t like those things.
The New Moon in Cancer on July 20th looks painful. In a simple way it suggests bad news. A sucker punch, a bad beginning, someone has hurt the baby, the mother, your feelings. If a New Moon is an image of a fresh start, this one comes bearing an old fashioned ball and chain
It’s time to get real about what you know. It’s the best and only strategy. We are not done going backward. We are nowhere near done looking back. Oh we want to be done. We want more than anything to be done. Are we close? We are not close.
